Hank has been looking for his mate. He found her once, but after a bar fight and a little too much tequila, he convinced himself she was just a figment of his imagination. Until she shows up with his enemy in tow, during the full moon when he’s most vulnerable. It stings to be betrayed by his fated mate. Because of her, he’s a captive. But that doesn’t change the fact that…
She is his to punish. His to forgive. His to save.
Except there’s more to the story. Matilda isn’t the traitor he thought she was. She’s a complex web of wishes and dreams wrapped up in chaos and hate. Hank knows he was born to show her what true love is. Boundless and everlasting. Only he can bring her out of the darkness, and if it takes using his body to convince her to be his forever… that’s exactly what he’ll do.

This one was interesting. Not my favourite in the series, but seeing Matilda as the fmc was great. I was hoping we would get to explore other shifters, not just the wolfs and although insects aren't my favourite thing in the world, this take on shifters was so new to me. Most of the book is in just one location, which kind of works here, and the solution was so obvious that until Matty explains why there was a problem.
This novella went by so fast, but Hank was hilarious, he's definitely the biggest sense of humous out of the guys so far, and he was so confident in his mate and their bond. I can't wait to explore more about the feud between the Mullers and the Brockdale Pack... and what the hell happened between Winona and Ansen!?
I really enjoyed reading this story. There was a big dilemma they had to overcome, together. It was they hatred between their packs. She trusted someone she called a friend, but a faux friend is never revealed until the damage is done. I liked that he wanted her to prove to herself how special she was. She saved him. And in the end, they both wind up saving each other.
This one is a little of a different pace for PJ and I like it. Hank was lured by the Mullers into a trap and the pair need to work together to escape and to strengthen their bond. While this book is a different turn of events I still enjoyed how the pair managed to have a connection. I can’t wait to see what is to come.
*WARNING* intended for mature readers This is a short book, so as expected....there's Insta love. A wolf and a grasshopper....an intriguing pair. The "strida" is also an interesting thing. The story continues the way between the wolves and the grasshoppers, but what really started all of the hate? I have no clue and this story doesn't tell us either. I liked the story.
Oh my goodness PJ. Hank and Matty were giving me some major Surge and Tana vibes!!! Affliction, pain, but above their sorrow was their hope for a better tomorrow, TOGETHER. My second faves in the series. You know I adore Wy and Ansen (sp?) so much and the little bits of their interactions are killin me. 🤗 I figure they'll be the last couple in the series too. I'm here for them no doubt. 🥰 Can't wait for Dane's book next. Are we getting Fabian's too?
KISS AND HOWL is a definite 4+ star romance. After Hank scents his mate, he’s determined to find her again. But what he finds is a trap and capture by his pack’s worst enemy, the Mullers. What’s more surprising is who is mate really is. But the surprises don’t stop there, neither does the excitement adding in a touch of danger, quite a bit of mate building, and ultimately some steamy mate bonding. This all adds up to an easy-to-read, fast-paced, appealing and very touching read that is sure to leave you quite satisfied.
Wow, so glad I got to read this! Very sweet mating, giving Matty the strength to believe in herself and their bond. I highly recommend this series be read in order to get the full story and understanding of this world building. Looking forward to the next one in the series! Kudos!
Book 3 of this short read series.Hank finds his mate but the grasshoppers use her to catch hank. I did think right from the start why don't she shift? he was also unconscious so she was safe to do so.The storylines are interesting but not much goes on with them being short reads its fast but really wolf meets mate within a day sex happens they bond the end. This is it for the other two books also.looks like book 4 is Dane and I think a bird shifter?
Hank and Matty find their mate amongst their shifter enemies. Hank is funny but “best in small doses” kind of MC. I did like that he was able to see past prejudice and being kidnapped to appreciate Matty and to give her the love and kindness she needs. Fav Quote: “Look at you,” he said, swiping the tears from her cheeks. “Smiling so big it’s like the fucking sun. Damn, girl. Damn. There goes my heart, fucking lost to you.”
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I can't stop daydreaming and telling everyone about this book. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - A great read with all the feels. I would read again. ⭐⭐⭐ - I liked the book but wouldn't it read again. ⭐⭐ - Usually in the DNF pile or I suffered until the end for whatever reason. ⭐- Just no.
Matilda is a grasshopper shifter, she was an outcast to her people. They were cruel and heartless to one another. She wanted out of her pod. She explored the city and discovered a scent she loved. Upon getting closer to it, she was confronted with Hank, behind a bar. He was drunk and needed air. He felt there connection as well. Matilda kept her secret about meeting Hank, until she couldn't. She told her close friend. Her friend in turn told the leaders. Matilda was forced to go with her pod against the Brockdale's land. They captured Hank using Matilda to lure him. Matilda and Hank were both imprisoned in the same cell.
Hank has already met his mate Matilda at a local bar after a few to many tequilas, he knows straight away she is his but she doesn't hang around and he isn't even sure he didn't just dream her up.
Matilda is part of the enemy grasshopper pack at war with Hanks pack, and she is tricked into luring him away when the next full moon came, which resulted in them being locked up together.
There was a bit more to this story as we got to meet more outsiders, and we saw more of the plot unfolding.
A little like Romeo and Juliette without the suicide and killing stuff. Hank and Matty are adorable, period. She is unsure of herself, held back, and abused by her family, Hank is like one of the pack princes, their love is inconvenient. When they spend time together, they are able to make sense of their feelings, but they might die anyway. I really thought this would be Ansel and Winona's story, but maybe that will come later?
I have to say, I LOVE Matty. I love that out of all the books she is the one we get to see the most growth with. I love that we get to see her go from this horrible place and self-doubt to the strong independent woman she should be because she found a home and people who love and accept her as she is.
I think I liked this couple more than the previous couples. They are sweet together.
But all the action happens off page...the capturing, the rescue - all done outside of the story.
Add to that and we are 3 books in (4 if you include the alpha's sister in Bear You Belong) and we are no closer to any information on why the Muller Pod and Brockdale Pack are at war.
Glad there was only one smutty part and I skipped that. All 3 stories so far have so much potential for full length novels instead of these short glimpses. They are like an outline of what could be possible plot wise and for character and relationship development/growth. Wasted opportunities for amazing books imo.
What a wonderful story of enemies to lovers. Although she wasn't the enemy, she was his mate. They used her to find him and they were imprisoned together. What a wonderful close proximity while they learned all about each other. And showing how much she loved him by shifting and going for help. Once they were both free, they began to build their HEA.
Hank is a Brick dale and Matilda is a Mueller. Rivalry is bad between these two shifter families. Unknown to Hank and Matty they are soul mates but will their family rivalry stop them. Great read.
I guess the Mullers are only fierce when they have numbers with them. They too are vulnerable, so they don't shift, the Apex shifters can take them. I'm glad Matty felt the live Hank for and gave her the strength to get help for him.
Apex predator and an insect. An odd pairing if there ever was one. Hank slowly gains Mattie's trust to win her heart. He's so sweet to his new mate, even as he has to figure out how to save them from her pod. Her hero...
Just throwing out there, I'm really enjoying this book series. These guys are so dominant, but also so incredibly sweet towards the women that are theirs. Love it.
More over the top lovable characters and a great storyline that brings them together. Love the humor and the continuation of the involvement of the characters in the pack. Definitely one of the books in this series that I will enjoy rereading again!
Awesome storyline girl meets boy behind a bar; sounds like a cheesy Bar joke, lmao. No but really awesome read drama, action ensue as he is captured by his enemy and who helped? Well then read it yourself as I dont read and tell. Next!...
This is the best story in the park series. Loved Hank and Matty, two different species and enemies to boot. Great storytelling and didn’t feel short changed by being a short read.
Can't wait to read more in this series loved the characters and the storyline so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
