Seth Six months away, nursing heartbreak, and my father plucks a ray of sunshine from the sky and puts her in the office opposite mine. Kiran Jafri is the one thing I hate - happy. She’s an explosion of colour in one gorgeous package and I should stay away. But Kiran’s warmth is all I’ve ever craved and avoiding her isn’t an option. The more I learn about her, the more complicated it gets. I’ll figure out a way to prove this is worth it. Kiran Moving to London is a fresh start. New office. A personal assistant. And a stunning boss who is missing a heart in his chest. Seth Sinclair is the office grump and fate seems to throw us together. No matter how hard I try, I can’t stay away. He’s something I want when I definitely shouldn’t. It’s too complicated and I can’t trust myself not to mess up. But Seth’s reminding me of one thing I thought I lost - hope. Is it really possible for me to have it all? This book contains topics that some may find triggering. These include discussion of infertility, suicide, mature language and sexually explicit scenes. Reader discretion is advised.

I absolutely did not regret picking this one up. It was an unexpected intro to the author and now I’m obsessed!😍 It was an explosive debut of the author, truly.

As I said, I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did. It's because the book started out a bit slow and it's on the longer side. However, after getting to know the characters and their backstory, issues and pasts, I was captivated and invested in Seth and Kiran's story. That's when the story really picked up IMO and I couldn't stop reading it.

There are many obstacles against them, but they are perfect for each other. So they're always going to end up together. I truly fell in love with Seth when I see his interactions with Kiran's kids. I loved his relationship with Maaz and Shah, even though Shah didn't make it easy on him. And that extended epilogue! I absolutely loved it! It just shows how beautiful their story turned into.

First of all, I am very thankful to our dear Naaz for choosing me as one of your ARC readers. I am so grateful to you.
Now, if we talk about NOTES ON LOVE, I don't have many words to say about it. It was such a great experience for me. This book was amazing. From grumpy/sunshine scenes to cuteness overload, to sexy times

4.5 Flower & Tin Man Stars! 🌻❤️

As soon as i stumbled across the synopsis for this book i instantly started looking forward to it! I picked it up and got into the Seven Deadly Sinclairs world. Once i started reading i didn't want to put it down and ended up finishing it in one sitting. I absolutely loved this story!

Seth and Kiran's journey hooked me so quickly! Right from their first meeting i was curious how things would play out for them. I was so glad that i got to get into both of their minds. These two got under each other's skin in the most unique of ways. I loved getting to dig deeper with these two and getting their realness. I felt so much throughout with Kiran and Seth! I found myself relating to both of them so much while reading.

From the connection to the chemistry, Their story brought the best kind of grumpy/sunshine that i couldn't get enough of! I so enjoyed what the other characters brought to the story, especially Aiden, Noah, Shahzad and Maaz!

This story is one of those rare beauties that make you sit back and think of your own life. It tackled things i don't see often in books and it was such a breath of fresh air that truly got to me.

With Notes On Love, Ms.Spencer has created such a fantastic read that brought the feels and will touch your heart! With every page turn i felt every single bit and that's one of the many reasons why this story is going to stick with me. I am already so excited for more from her with the rest of the Seven Deadly Sinclairs! I so need more of the Sinclair brothers in my life!

Don't miss out on Notes on Love, my fellow book lovers! 🌻❤️

Please read Trigger Warnings at the beginning of the book.

4.5 ⭐️ to the book that finally got me out of the romance book slump!

Notes on Love brings together grumpy and sunshine sprinkled in with an office romance. Seth is grumpy, angry, arrogant, vulgar, and is trying to make a comeback after a very explosive public humiliation. He pushes people away and wants everyone around him to be as miserable as he is. Until he meets Kiran. Dubbed as a “slice of sunshine”, her optimism, kindness, and helpful nature are everything Seth can't stand, or so he thinks. There's more to sunny Kiran than meets the eye, and Seth wants to know all her secrets.

The slow burn romance is fantastic, while the story is still fast-paced enough to keep you hooked. Seth and Kiran aren't afraid to show their vulnerabilities, and the supporting characters add another layer to the story that makes you excited to read the rest of the Sinclair brothers' books. I'm really looking forward to Aiden's story next.

Outside of the nickname 'Flower' 🙈 and not fully understanding why the Sinclairs hold so much value in the public eye, this book is definitely something I would read again and may just end up on my list of go-to comfort romances💕

ARC provided in exchange fot an honest review

I had high expectations for Naaz Spencer debut and she totally surpassed it with this story! It captured my attention from the beginning and once I started I couldn't stop until I finished reading Seth & Kiran, their stories are moving, wonderful and their love is one of the cutest I have ever read, and one that it goes straight to the list of my favorites. Plus the characters are stunning, ALL of them, main, secondary and even those that appear a few times, for all that I think that I will not stop recommending this book for a while.

The heroine of this story is Kiran, a single mother who has faced a loss that marked her forever, has one of the brightest and most beautiful personalities I have ever read,, and it breaks my heart to read how she dedicates herself full time to Maaz & Shah because even though she's an excellent mother, she tends to forget about herself. She still is an incredible woman, with a huge heart and that she's always willing to help and support those around her.

When Kiran starts a new life and job, he also arrives to Sinclair Technologies to turn upside down Seth's life, he's the future CEO and who returns after taking time to heal his heart due to the cheat of his fiancée, he is a grumpy man, who wants to get his life back, he's altered by the happiness of other people and very particularly by Kiran's personality, but deep down he's an adorable, tender and kind man who loves his family, who knows how to put himself in the place of others, and I have to say that I wasn't expecting the personality of this character, I totally fell in love with him from the beginning and I just liked him more and more as I progressed with the book, I loved his relationship with Maaz and how much progress he made with Shah until the end of the book, it was so beautiful and moving.

One of the things I loved the most about this book was how mature Seth & Kiran are, they both have many obstacles against them, but I think they are perfect for each other, just like their love story, even when things between them were totally wrong and they broke my heart it was perfect, Naaz did an amazing job with these two: they are totally adorable, cuddly, hot and I enjoyed every moment of this book.

Another thing that I loved the most was the handling of the triggers in the plot, the author included them in her story in a very original way, especially the issue of infertility, it was nothing I have read before and it was perfect too.

🇪🇸

I am all for a good workplace romance, and this one was decent. I liked the concept for the book, and Kiran definitely intrigued me. Kiran has been through so much in her life, and she's worked hard to get to where she is. Oh, and I loved the nickname of Tin Man for Seth. That was a winner.

One thing I wish I had known going in was that it is a slow burn. An extreme slow burn at that.

I was confused by the Sinclair family though. Are they famous? Why does the paparazzi care about who they are? Why was Seth's breakup with Anna such major news? I need more of a backstory on the family so I can better understand. I mean it's obvious that they are well off financially since Seth was able to just travel for half a year.

Like I said, the story was decent. Kiran was more interesting than Seth. But I didn't feel the connection between them. Solid 3 star read for me.

3.8⭐️’s. These two are definitely soulmates. I love that Seth knows that J will always have a piece of her heart, and that doesn’t affect the love Kiran has for him. Maaz and Shah are the best kids ever!!

I was excited to read Notes on Love, Naaz Spencer's debut novel and it did not disappoint. Naaz did an outstanding job of giving us two souls that were definitely made for each other. Naaz's writing is gripping and so full of detail that you are unable to put her book down. This office, a second chance at love romance will have your heart beating a little faster and having you feel all the feels that are possible.

Seth Sinclair is one of seven brothers and they are a tight-knit family. When his life is shattered by finding his fiance cheating on him as well as it being plastered all over the media, he takes off to let loose. Upon returning to his job in his family's company he meets a beautiful and intriguing woman, Kiran, that seems to be full of life. Seth is far from being a happy man in fact he is grumpy and just wants to try and get his life back. Will this high-spirited woman have an effect on Seth? As he starts to spend time with her at work, he begins to have feelings for her but there is so much that he doesn't know about her. Can he persuade Kiran to go out with him and then give them a chance? Can Seth possibly be able to find love again and trust giving his heart to another? When he finds out about her past, will it change his feelings for her?

Kiran is a beautiful, independent and smart woman but is also a single mother to two beautiful boys and has had her life changed forever. When she was a teenager her life turned upside down and then again five years ago. She now works for Sinclair Technologies and loves her job. In walks Seth, back for his life recovering time away and everything changes. Kiran's boys, Shah and Maaz, are her life and she will do anything for them. In fact, she seems to forget about taking care of herself and her needs. Well, in walks Seth Sinclair and adds some challenges to her life. She doesn't know what happened to him just that he is back from time away. As they get closer she wants to find out why he is the way he is and Googles him. She now understands why Seth is grumpy and annoying. The more time they spend together the more she sees Seth becoming a happier person. When she gives him a chance and they start to see each other, will it work out? Can he accept how she lives her life and who is in her life? Can she open her heart to someone else because her heart belongs to someone else and has always been? When she is rushed to the hospital, how will everyone react? Can she see that maybe Seth is good for her and her boys?

I love romance novels and Notes on Love is the perfect one to make you feel that even though your heart is shattered, there is always someone out there that can piece it back together. Seth and Kiran's love story will have you swooning over Seth and adding hmm to your book-boyfriend list. You will also want to hug Kiran and tell her that she is an inspiration to all women out there struggling with life and work. The love that they have for one another is one that I feel we all strive and dream to have.

Knowing that Naaz has six more books coming out about the Sinclair family and the remainder of the seven deadly sins had me doing a happy dance. If any of the remaining books are anything like Notes on Love, Naaz will have a best seller series on her hands. I highly recommend this book as well as following this talented author. Naaz thank you for giving us such a beautiful love story.

Notes on Love went live yesterday, 1/22 & I'm very grateful to have had an ARC; & met Seth + Kiran before they were introduced to the world.

Naaz Spencer is @zavi_james alter ego/pen name. As you all know, I've read her mafia & urban fantasy romance & am a fan of her works. I read this with minimal expectations, just went with the flow & Notes On Love did not disappoint.

Naaz focused/highlighted real-life issues like, infertility, süicide, single parent-ing & extreme heartbreaks in Notes On Love. Do check out the TW although I think in my personal opinion, it's nothing you can't handle.

Ok a little background story: Seth is suppose to take-over the Sinclair's legacy however he had a melt-down due to his recent break-up that made him so miserable. Kiran moved to London for a fresh new start, along with her responsibilities.

Moving on, the banter between Seth & Kiran is brilliant! Grumpy/sunshine is one of the elite tropes, of course this is my opinion too. However, whatever you see/read is only at face value. Notes On Love revealed so much as to why, people behave or react a certain way to certain situations. You get what I mean right?

I cried too. I cried for a lot of things that were being addressed in Notes On Love. I won't spoil this for you but it resonated deep within me. I love how Naaz sees US, bonus parent(s) as a blessing & not someone who's here to ruin or replace anyone biologically. We know our place but don't we deserve love, too? 🥺

My review? Defo ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟 & 🌶️🌶️🌶️.

If you think I'm biased just because I am an ARC reader, I suggest you buy a copy, read it & contend me if you think I'm wrong. I dare you. That's how confident I am with Notes on Love.

P/S: Can't wait to read the rest of the Sinclair brothers story. Especially Aiden.

P/P/S: I might name my son Shahzad.

Love you, Naaz/Dr James 😘 I hope every contemporary romance reader gives Notes On Love a chance. It's like The Hate Notes.

oh my heart! this story, this couple, everything! feeling rather speechless because for a debut, this was just beautiful. kiran jafri and seth sinclair were beautiful, flawless with their own set of flaws, and impeccable. there is so much to unfold but there are just not enough words to express how much i hold their story close to my heart. even the cover found a home in my heart at first glance. something about illustrated covers are just so pretty and endearing.

easily one of my best reads for this year, Notes on Love is an all-new office romance with the grumpy/sunshine trope featuring an interracial couple by Naaz Spencer. let’s talk about the representation in here please! naaz did such a wonderful job with the south asian representation in kiran, that as a south asian myself, i felt like there was a part of in this book. from her little quirks to everything that makes her who she is, i found myself almost reading a reflection. it was craftily written and beautifully so. naaz brings us into the seven deadly sinclairs universe, a universe of seven brothers, each with their own sin. seth’s story is of wrath. and what a tsunami that man is. though which brother i want is still out on the jury. seth was really the most perfect asshole while kiran was all things sunshine and sweet, though not without her faults, and together, these two were the perfect balance to each other. while their dynamic and chemistry ignites into flames and the embers glow while secrets are uncovered, my heart only grew with love for these two as well as shahzad and maaz.

naaz has easily become one of my favorite authors for contemporary romances and i absolutely cannot wait for the rest of the brothers and their books. yes aiden and noah, i’m talking to you two… though aiden is mine so i don’t know where he thinks he’s going lol. did i say aiden? sorry i meant seth.

can i just have these brothers in a harem all for myself? is that too much to ask for?

in notes on love, we come across so much. tattered hearts. heartbreak. pain. angst. sadness. hardships. but a hell of a lot of laughter. love. and steam. all of them to a vast intensity. there were a multitude of times i cried for both seth and kiran, for everything and every bad card they were dealt in life. times i wanted to kill seth and kiran myself, and times where i swooned, had a bi panic, and fanned myself. because damn, the filth and dirty talk hiding behind that innocent little cover is ridiculous. *cough* naaz *cough*

i also just want to say that kiran being seth’s sunshine all throughout? chef’s. kiss.

“kiran’s laughter and warmth reminded me of summer.”

excuse me.

“i was still collecting strands of summer that could be called on when she wasn’t around.”

i am on the floor.

i think i’ve accidentally developed feelings for the ray of sunshine you hired.

screaming. crying. and throwing up. thank u, next.

⤑𝐊𝐈𝐑𝐀𝐍 𝐉𝐀𝐅𝐑𝐈: alright. queen. that’s all. miss jafri induced multiple bi panics that i would like to foot my therapist bill to miss naaz… kiran has to be one of the strongest leads i’ve read in a long time. a warrior, truly. with every card she was dealt, she still stood tall and kept going. her snarky remarks at a grumpy seth had me cackling and i loved her character arc. everything about her. she is, quite literally, a ball of sunshine, and she has the biggest heart of gold that i know. the way she cares for her sons, shah and maaz, and the way she lets her heart bleed with emotion when she lets it, especially for seth, it’s so beautiful to watch. from her workaholic attitude, to her bratty attitude when she doesn’t get what she wants in the bedroom with seth (literallyyyyy me omg), her sunshine exterior and the secrets she keeps because she’s so used to caring for everyone… like who takes care of her? it was like seeing myself in a book.

⤑𝐒𝐄𝐓𝐇 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐑: he left quite the impression. from the very first page, reading about his little ‘sinclair meltdown’ was rather endearing i have to say. i knew from the absolute beginning that while he could be a little playboy, seth sinclair was a pure sappy romantic at heart. and that is why he is my latest obsession, hyperfixation and love of my life. sorry, aiden, i still love you. unlike a lot of office romances i read with a billionaire, seth comes with his layers. morally gray, a jackass, elusive… when his secrets started to unfold little by little, my heart hurt for him. though, truthfully speaking, there were more than a few times i wanted to throw a brick at his head. really. i adored how soft he was, how kind and loving he was under his stone cold exterior.

⤑𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐘 & 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐌: seth sinclair is HOT. like that man is a SIN. like??? the praise, the ‘good girl,’ the dirty talk, the everything!! like hello sign me up, seth, aiden, SETH, i am free on thursday nights. just for you i will keep my schedule open sir. he just ALWAYS knows what to say. and the note her from in kiran’s stuff, why he shouldn’t like her and the way he turned it around on her so quick, dear god, i have seen what you’ve done for others…

"𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁."

"𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱. 𝗶 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆."

these two quotes, said by the man himself, yeah, they live in my head rent f- free!!!!!!! like. where’s my seth?

but,

“i love you.”

“i know you do.”

excuse me while i go lie down in the middle of the road because wow. seth sinclair knows what he’s doing and he does it so sinfully well.

this story was sweet, though not without its darkness, and full of warmth and sheer love. the extended epilogue made my heart combust honestly. i can’t wait for the second book and to fall in love with this world again!

Thank bloody god I took a chance and downloaded this book on a whim. Probably because I saw the brown girl on the cover and went yesss. It was an unexpected read and oh my god, it was absolutely incredible. Completely obsessed now.

I didn’t find the story slow or boring like I often do with straight contemporary romance because this was something else. These are adults, hardened by life and loss and seeing them finally find someone they could be happy with…was everything.

After learning about Kiran and seeing she isn’t just the lovely sunshine girl, I can’t help but feel some ache in my soul for her. What a stunning woman. Seth was a joy to read about, I don’t think I’ve read a male character quite like him. He was the grumpy one for sure but the way he always put Kiran and her family first before him…I cry. Even when she had reservations that she couldn’t be with him and put her kids first, he took that step back and was happy to lose her if it meant she was happy with them.

There were so many obstacles they faced, but like a team they powered through. I fell in love with them as they were falling for each other. Seth’s relationship with Maaz and Shah too, oh my gawd. Shah had a soft spot in my heart because he was so protective of his mum, but to see him finally let his walls down too for Seth. I knew how much it meant to Kiran.

The extended epilogue…potentially I was crying. It was beautiful beyond belief.

10000 stars, everyone read this.

This is supposed to be a romance book series based on seven deadly sins, each sin representing one brother. Seth Sinclair is Wrath.

I don't think I've ever read anything from this author before, and I really enjoyed reading this book. I liked her writing style, story pace, and witty comebacks.

So apparently this is your typical romance story that starts with super rich dudes with some untreated emotional trauma and is worldly famous, but for this series, you get seven rich dudes, apparently. Good lawd !

You know what? I actually like this grumpy fellow. I mean, he was mean for sure, but he also had remorse when he was mean to people, although he was more thoughtful of Kiran than other people. I can't really blame him for his problems because Seth had it quite badly. He may be rich, but he is also the eldest son of the six siblings and the future hire of his father's massive company. So he has a lot of stress and high expectations from his family, added to the fact that his family is basically a celebrity and everything about his personal life is on the open and scrutinized by the public. He is under a lot of stress and is quite short-tempered.

Although he seemed to feel quite the ambivalence towards Kiran from the very moment he met her, she is nothing like the girls he had dated before, and she lives and dances to her own tune, something Seth didn't really have the chance to do in his own life. He is baffled by Kiran, and that in turn started to gain more of his attention when he was quite against his father for hiring her, not because of her projects and ideas but more so because she didn't seem fazed by his mean streak.

Kiran is a walking sunshine. That's how she is, but she is also quite the mother-bear when it comes to her children. I love that about her, even though Kiran was a happy-go-lucky person with everyone, but eventually Seth's audacity did get to her. She did not back down and stood her ground. This, in turn, dumbfounded Seth, and he felt guilty for what he said. Seth was starting to notice how his behavior was affecting people in the office.

I loved their banter and witty comebacks. I loved their chemistry. For a short romance book, it contained a lot of back stories and character developments. It wasn't some insta-romance with these two. Sure, the attraction was always there, but they also took time to get to know each other better before anything turned into romance. I was swooning at how Seth, who thought Kiran was married, still decided in his own mind that she was his and only his. Not even in a sexual or animalistic way, he decided that Kiran was his own healing salve. He wanted to "keep" her "away" from his other siblings, especially Aiden. I loved that about him. Seth is quite insecure when it comes to his siblings "stealing" his precious.

I loved the chemistry he had with Maaz and Shah, I think they are the turning points for Seth to make better choices in life. I also loved Mike's friendship with Kiran. Aiden's brotherly love and support and uncanny ability to annoy the heck out of Seth

Although the book did have loads of input on physical and emotional struggle, some of it was more in-depth, while others just touched on a surface level. Not that I'm complaining because this is after all a seven-book series, so perhaps this would be explored more in detail in other books.

I know some may see Seth's outburst with Mike as a red flag, but she also balanced out the anger with both of them trying to find an agreement and understanding of their situation.

I also don't fault Kiran for breaking up with Seth having her son do what his dad did.

I mean, what's a little drama over make-up sex?
Also towards the end, I'm not quite sure what Sinclairs company actually does LOL.

What I enjoyed about the book:
- Seth and Kiran both retrain their strong personalities, even towards the end. Seth didn't suddenly become cordial and all-good-tempered when he met Kiran, it's a work in progress. Kiran didn't suddenly forget about her past trauma and put her love before her children. I also notice that Kiran still retains her workaholic part of herself even until the end of the story. Usually, romance stories tend to "forget" why a certain protagonist was "there" in the first place.

- Moderate slow burn story, they were friends first before they became a couple. (almost)

- They didn't have sex right after they started developing romantic feelings for one another.

- I don't think I've ever read a romance story where the female protagonist had a teen son, which did have the expected reaction from her son, but it did not overwhelm the story.

The things I thought the book could do without:
- Why do all the rich dudes have to be so promiscuous? I think in this story, Seth wrath should be enough to carry his "bad" side; there is no need to add the part about him scoring with girls because he was traumatized. The story didn't even focus on that part of his life, so why do the author or many romance authors do this? I think Shah being vary from Seth because of his mean demeanor is enough without the added promiscuous as coping mechanism part.

- I don't need to know how his dick reacted to seeing Kiran. It cheapens the experience and the mood of the story. Just talk about his heart, mood changes, sweaty hands, and all that "normal" reaction people have around their crush. Why do romance authors feel the need to insert "cock twitching" as a normalized expression for anything in romance books?

This book surprised me in a good way. In the first chapter, the female and male protagonist meet in a not-so-good way. The male protagonist (Seth) gave the impression that he was angry with the world because of the bad events that happened in his life. But soon his personality began to change in a good way because of the female protagonist (Kiran)

Kiran herself is a single mother of two sons. But after all she has been through, she still has a smile on her face and is the best mother for her sons.

She also has no problem putting Seth in his place from time to time, which only makes this office romance more fun, along with the couple's bickering.

Seth soon knew that if he wanted to win Kiran's heart, he had to win the hearts of her children first.

I didn't understand all of Kiran's decisions, but knew that she meant everything with a good intention for her children. And she also proudly showed through the book that she is willing to do anything for her children.

I personally really enjoyed the book and can't wait for the next book in the series.

3/5 stars

so this was okay. not as mindblowingly good as i thought it would be considering the gorgeous cover, but that’s on me. i judged and look where that got me.

any ways this was cute. i liked kiran and her boys. seth, on the other hand, it was a bit more difficult for me to like him. and maybe it’s just me because whenever i read dual pov books i notice the male character tends to just claim the woman as his property from the get go and get aroused within like seconds of smelling her perfume. i’m guessing this is a strictly romance written by women thing, as i don’t really see it much anywhere else. any ways all that to say that i didn’t love that part of the book.

i did like kiran a lot better though, i just really wish both characters felt more human as supposed to tropes. kiran is obviously the very sunshine-esque type and seth the grumpy one. and listen, i think sunshine x grumpy can be done well. have i seen it done well before? …no, but i do think it can! just not when the man is a fiery ball of all things testosterone and the couple don’t get to know each other on a deep basis.
one thing i also want to add here: i know that each of these brothers are supposed to represent one of the seven deadly sins, and seth’s is supposed to be wrath but i felt like rather than sticking to what has been done before this could have opened up a lot of conversations on anger and processing emotions and whatnot. idk. i just felt let down by how i thought it was going to be different but it wasn’t.

development wise, also, this book is quite superficial. we have a major secret on both sides which each impacts the other greatly in terms of emotion. them getting to the point of being able to talk about those issues and past traumas/hardships basically signifies their development and the fact that they can date now, and it’s just like did the characters really deserve to get together if they don’t even really address other issues like how seth treated mike? or even the fact that seth was willing to drive kiran after literally drinking alcohol in front of her and it’s just… completely ignored? i don’t know, this is just my perspective.

there’s also the pressing issue of how seth’s internal monologue, to no one’s surprise, is quite misogynistic at parts. it’s like, wow! are we seriously at the point where women are writing men and instead of giving them some other way of dealing with their emotions, it gives off misogyny??? and while the author doesn’t get too deep into it, there are certain comments that allude to this and so. yeah. that killed the vibe for me real quick.

in any case, i’ll get around to the other brothers at some point in time but for now i’m done.

A Desi Heroine who wears bright sarees and a nose ring and has build her own company and is also a single mom of two? No doubt, I was sold from the first chapter.

The theme of this series, is the seven deadly sins and this one was based on WRATH, so no points guessing the hero, aka Seth Sinclair, is grumpy and too angry for his own good.

Reading this story was fun. It served the right amount of angst and then the five year accidentally calling him dad, and the teenager son calling him from the hospital and for rescue after a drunk getaway, the family served and how.

It was easily a four star read for me until one scene - the bane of my existence for romance novels tbh.

No, I don't care how grumpy the MMC is, or how much jealousy is a turn on for romance readers, or how possessiveness and “you are mine" is guilty pleasures to many, I can't, for the love of God, stand a MMC being a rude jerk to the male best friend for literally no reason.

Yes, I know Seth was insecure, but Mike did absolutely zero to have him thrown out of his two decade worth best friend's house. He had been Kiran's bff since they were 18, he held her through her husband's suicide, he was her children's go to uncle and just a good best friend who also through the book kept motivating a guilt ridden Kiran to live for herself, to be happy and give Seth a chance. So yes, Seth wanting to punch Mike in the face for hugging Kiran gave me an ick.

This alpha jealousy took away a star in my review. Also, I would have liked better if there was a conversation between Mike and Seth, an epilogue mention of Kiran and Mike or something of that sort. I don't understand why do romance novels or authors or even readers think having a romantic partner is all you need in life and it's okay to sideline decade worth friendships immediately after. Why can't the two Co exist? Why can't the MMC be appreciative of this male best friend who was a wall to his beloved for years? Especially when there is literally nothing but platonic love from both sides?

Either way, I am ranting now. But you got the gist.

The story was a fun read, nonetheless. Can't wait to jump into Aiden and Tiffy's story next!

Was recommended this book by a friend as I was attending a book event where this author would be signing. I was a bit wary given I'd never heard of the author before and so naturally not read any of their stuff. However, I really liked this -right from the get go!

Seth's internal dialogue is so funny at times, and that's why I love when we also get to see the male's POV in a book. Especially a romcom. The way he reacts initially after seeing Kiran's office and then mistaking her for some trespasser definitely made me laugh. I did also love seeing the more vulnerable side to him though, and when he feels guilty for wanting Kiran to pick him too, alongside Shah and Maaz, later on in the book. That, and the way he took to Maaz was so sweet!

Kiran is the complete opposite to Seth, with her more open and bubbly personality. Given that the author is a POC and I believe of a similar descent to Kiran herself (I think?) I loved how her story was just so normalised and not used as a way to bring a racism element to the plot. The way Kiran always puts her kids first but still feels like she's doing a bad job is something I imagine many parents go through, but I really liked seeing her relationship with them both.

I think because this was based in England too, it made for a much more relatable and enjoyable read. I love seeing British humour in books that I'm reading and it just hits in a way that American humour doesn't lol.

I'd be remiss to not mention Aiden in this review too! That man already has my heart and I can't wait to read his book! hahah. The way he was like an overgrown man-child but also still so sweet had me in stitches on more than one occasion. And honestly, I don't blame him for what his reaction to Seth deleting his Pokémon Blue progress! lmao As his is the next story and I have a strong suspicion we already know who his FMC is going to be, I'm looking forward to getting to this ASAP. Likewise, I'm excited to get more of the other Sinclair brothers as we didn't see them as much in this, other than Noah.

So glad to have come across this book via Instagram!

Things I liked:
-seamless transition to the backstory
-good pacing to the story
-grumpy/sunshine
-cute banter & reasonable slow burn
-They become good friends first
-No needless info-dumping, succinct without lacking fluency
-wholesome romance
-Both leads deal with each other's insecurities head-on with lots of reassurance
-They don't dive into the bed head first or give in to their desire at the first sight. Unlike most books, their concerns for not going for it immediately are believable, rational and well warranted

Few things I really liked about the MMC, Seth:
-the way he developed feelings for Kiran was very organic and believable
-The way he constantly asks Kiran to make sure they are on the same page
-His Blue Eyes!!
-His relationship with
-he's caring, constantly checks on her, COMMUNICATES, tells her what's on his mind and lets her decide what to do with it, doesn't think with his lower body all the time
-Verbal Consent

Now about the FMC, Kiran, a literal ray of sunshine, is a very adorable character, but, I didn't particularly appreciate how the author executed a few things:

-runs at the first sign of trouble
-doesn't place enough trust in him

All in all, an excellent and satisfying read. Would definitely recommend it.

PERFECTION!

That's what this book is. Absolutely amazing.

The first of a series that promises laughter, hurt and romance. Honestly I can't wait so much I'm giddy.

I'm just gonna say this : this book is intense and sweet. It's smart and dirty, it's funny and serious.

You gotta love you some Sinclair sugar.

Kiran is an amazing bubbly Ray of sunshine rainbow joy person, or at least she tries to be for her loved ones and the people around her in general, you'll soon discover that even the sun goes down Sometimes and even the stars refuse to shine.

Seth, oh dear angry seth... He has every right to feel how he feels buuuuuuuut he shouldn't take it out on the new office addition who everyone seems to gravel to each time she's around. You got it right, Seth has his own Ray of sunshine, in every way possible since she's OFF LIMITS for some crazy reason lol I mean yeah I know right? Not making much sense here I know I just don't wanna spoil anything 😂

He is LIVID that she's not as miserable as he is, our little tin man, as she soon starts to call him, is just so f****** over his past bullshit and everyone having a say in it that, he snaps at her, and what does she do? Be nicer with a hint of spice, hey what you gonna do the woman is an angel.

In short, it's a great read. I've been waiting for this story for lone enough to tell you guys IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!!!

Enjoy folks 🖤🖤

"My flower was addictive, and I was unashamedly hooked. Every laugh, every blush thawed my heart and made me think about possibilities that I promised myself to never entertain again."

This is not my usual read and I am so happy I ventured outside my little box of the dark and PNR world. If you already didn't know Naaz Spencer is Zavi James other pen name and I think no matter what genre she writes I would love it. This was a contemporary romance, filled with lots of witty banter and a slow-burn romance. I appreciated that Seth and Kiran's romance took time and wasn't just insta-love with quick hot and heavy scenes. They truly took the time to get through their issues and get to know each other.

There were lots of things that could have stood in the way of the pair's romance but Naaz did such an impeccable job working her way around such sensitive topics and honestly, I might have cried at the end and the bonus epilogue. If you love grumpy x sunshine, slow-burn romance, and to feel a range of emotions (with a HEA) I highly suggest giving this title a go.

Started off good. I liked how the “sunshine” FMC was still mature and didn’t act juvenile. I just liked her character in general.

I like my MMCs grumpy not sassy and not assholes.
I don’t doubt the impact that his ex had on him, but my God he was such a brat about it. He had every right to be upset with that situation, but the countless tantrums that he threw at innocent people (mainly the fmc) was such an ick.

If the FMC can endure 10x worse what he did and still manage to be respectful to people, so can he.

When he stormed into her house uninvited, accused her of cheating, and she had to be the one to calm him down and tell him to “breathe” 🤮. He proceeds to initiate sex and make her beg him to “show her how he wants to own her.”
DNF
Side note: anytime I read about a man’s d1ck twitching within seconds of seeing the FMC I’m immediately grossed out *cough* devney Perry *cough*

Continuing my journey to find romance books where women get to be in charge and don’t always have to submit to men’s demands.

This series might be one of my new favourites! And there is seven books? Colour me intrigued! No spoilers, I swear.

The plot - workplace romance, POC main character, grumpy X sunshine, enemies to lovers, topics of grief and suicide are briefly mentioned but not massively triggering. Found family is also a topic, as well as it being a HEA as the series is interconnected standalones based around the Seven Deadly Sins. The smut was 2/5 on the spice scale because it’s more of a palate cleanser really.

The MC - I really liked Kiran. She is our POC and I loved everything about her. I wasn’t a fan of her overbearing nature but I kind of get it? It bugged me but I get why she was that way.

The male counterpart - now why wouldn’t I like Seth? Legitimately a perfect MMC. Doesn’t overstep boundaries or insert himself where unnecessary, just a guy in love with a girl and tryna overcome his own issues. Seth is Wrath, from the Seven Deadly Sins, in case you were wondering!

Seth is a successful business man who has been burned by life. Seth is returning to the office after a six month break. Kiran is newer to the office after trying to restart her life. Kiran and Seth’s first meeting was extremely interesting and definitely left a impression. As these two figure out how to work together they open up to each other and learn about each other. Seth has a great relationship with his family they are pretty supportive, I especially love his brother Aiden. Aiden had several laugh out loud moments throughout the book. I enjoyed the connection between Seth and Kiran, not to mention the hot chemistry. This was a great quick read that was extremely entertaining. The authors writing style was fast paced with a well layered story. The characters were well developed and had great background stories. I’m already looking forward to reading the next book by this author.
