She’s beneath him in every way, except the one way she desires.
Her duty is to entertain men in exchange for food, money, and trinkets, a life she’s always resented but couldn’t escape from. With her hormones raging after coming of age, Marina’s unrequited love for the sexy hellhound, Fernandez Stone, has reached a boiling point. Still, the thought of a hellhound—particularly that hellhound—with a siren is laughable. The touch of other men leaves her feeling disgusted and exploited. She resents the men who come to her bed and hates to continue servicing them to put food on the table. She’s failed at her purpose in life and was unable to capture the attention of the one man she wants but knows she can’t have.
Stone has wanted Marina since the first time he saw her. Her quiet innocence, soft voice, and kind heart draw him in. But as a member of The Guard, his duty is to protect the people of Clayridge, not engage in a lustful affair with a woman six steps beneath him.
An opportunity arises for Stone when an old nemesis returns, claiming she’s here to make amends for past sins and is reinstated in The Guard. Enraged that the rules have been bent, a bitter and resentful Stone turns to the one woman he shouldn’t have. But indulging in an affair with Marina could cost them everything—even put the entire town of Clayridge at risk.
Romance author Cameron Allie grew up in a small town north of Toronto. As a child she loved stories, and after reading her first romance novel at age fifteen her dreams of writing became singularly focused on the love story. She is currently living in Ontario with her husband, and with her cat, who is constantly trying to interrupt the writing process.
The gentle eager Siren matched with the brooding anti-hero Hellhound. We get a little bit of cop drama because of The Guard (Stone's job) and a lot more steamy scenes in the fountain (Siren's really have more fun than the rest of us 😉).
I love that we get a mini happy ending for these two but yet their story does not seem complete. I can't wait to see what trouble their 3rd wheel is going to cause!
And just when you think it's over we get a tease from Blood Lust (Clayridge Chronicles Book 2). It leaves us with more questions than answers and I love it! Can't wait for more!!
I am so speechless. I’ve tried to come up with a great way to describe it or post my review but I cannot.
This book has everything. Sirens, witches, vampires, hell hounds! Any fantasy creature you can think of. And Cameron’s writing skills are *chefs kiss*. Seriously guys! This story felt so complete. There wasn’t anything wrong with it. Nothing lacking. Nothing missing. Not too much of anything. Everything was so even and complete!
I loved this book more than the others in the series!!don't get me wrong, I loved those too, but I think reading small tidbits about Stone and Marina in the others just kind of had me wanting to read about them haha it was great! I enjoyed every part and I still want more!! If this was a show I'd be wanting the next episode of these two for sure!!! It has spice, angst, and it's fast paced!! Ahhh I can't wait for the next book!!!
I was so excited for this novella and it did not disappoint! My only complaint is that I want MORE Stone & Marina. I love how the clayridge books all expand upon one another nicely. Each novella has added context for book 1 and plenty of clues about book 2. I think the chemistry between Stone & Marina in this book was so well written. They’re probably my favorite clayridge couple so far.
Ok I got to say that this was a great story. Stone and Marina are so opposite but you know what they say about opposites? Can they get a happy ending? I started this earlier today and could not put it down. I can't wait for the next book to come out. Keep them coming please
Another Clayridge Chronicles novella that hit the mark! This story follows Stone & Marina and it was everything!!! I cannot wait to find out what happens next in their story! ❤️ My only complaint is that it ended too soon.
