Forever Love #3

Oh So Oscar

Rate this book
What happens when a prickly travel journalist falls for his fake boyfriend?
Oscar Moore has two problems. One: He’s accidentally managed to convince his boss, the legendary editor of The Traveller, that he has a boyfriend. And two: he now has to persuade photographer and casual acquaintance, Ilias Verrati, to play along for a week-long couple’s retreat in Hawaii.

Ilias is full of sass and sunshine, but his constant flirting grates on Oscar. Unfortunately, unless Oscar wants to confess and risk his job, he has to keep up the ruse. He can manage a week, and if he can pull this off then editorial glory awaits.

Oscar and Ilias both have their own reasons for avoiding relationships—even if they desperately want one—and their work makes finding love even more difficult, but maybe a fake relationship is just what they need to give them a nudge in the right direction.

Under the Hawaiian sun, Oscar discovers there’s more to Ilias than meets the eye. But before Ilias will risk his heart, Oscar will have to find a way to open it.

Oh So Oscar is a 78,000-word contemporary MM romance featuring fake dating, luxurious hotel rooms, star gazing, and delicious food. It also contains discussions of grief, including the past loss of a parent, and the past loss of a partner.

My favourite one in the series

4.5*

I loved this romance big time.

There's nothing more wonderful to see than two people who feel love is something that won't ever happen - or who have deliberately closed themselves off to love after suffering great pain - find their happy ending.

Oscar's prickly surface is a defensive mechanism he's grown to protect himself, as his demisexuality often means he's deserted as soon as he refuses to jump into bed with whoever's propositioning him.

For Ilias it's a much deeper pain, that of losing his fiance when they were setting off to get married in secret when they were just 19.

Both men are also coping with interfering families, although Oscar's are much more kindly and well-meaning than a lot of Ilias' extended relatives.

I also, as a former journalist, really appreciated that side of the narrative. Although I've never been a travel writer, I've done my fair share of restaurant reviews and it's always a fine line between enjoying the experience and making sure to take notes so you can accurately reflect it.

But, what I loved beyond anything else is how much these two talked. About their fears, their feelings, their hopes.

Such a joy to be given two men fully committed to working things out and maintaining a stable and thriving relationship.

I will also say the lack of any type of kink (which I never felt were settled properly in the narratives of the first two books), was also a huge plus point with this story.

Roll on Heather Bay, which we get a brief sneak at in the later half of this book.

This was a good addition to the series. Didn't like it as much as book 1, but overall enjoyable. I appreciated the mature characters who communicated really well, and while I usually love books that are low angst - this had none, they had a sweet relationship and good communication, but books need some conflict in them, even if its from an external source- this book needed a bit more.

That being said, this couple is like my dream life- one is a traveling journalist and the other a traveling photographer, imagine getting paid to travel all over the world with your s/o.

This might have been the most mature love story I've ever read. Oscar and Ilias communicated openly, respected each others boundaries, compromised and gave heartfelt apologies when they pissed each other off. This book was the definition of drama-free and was very, very sweet.

I liked that Oscar was demi and aware of it. Most books I've read with a demi character have been awakening stories so it was nice to see a character who had already been down that path of self discovery and had been navigating his need for connection for awhile. Unfortunately, it hadn't gone well for him and he'd racked up enough disappointments and rejections to make him leery of the whole dating scene. I loved the dynamic it created with Ilias as he threw his charm at Oscar only to hit a brick wall.

Ilias was such an endearing and fun character. I love characters who laugh and smile easily and Ilias did both and approached everything with childlike wonder. He had a genuine interest in learning about the people and places he visited and his excitement when finding diamonds in the rough was palpable. I felt for him because he so obviously craved love and affection but had written off the idea of some grand romance in his life after losing someone important to him at a young age.

Together, Ilias and Oscar were perfection, but maybe a little too perfect? The author did a great job of avoiding all the things we readers complain about in other books, but unfortunately that careful avoidance of drama led to some lulls in the story. I wouldn't go so far as to call it boring, but I can see how some people might. This was a story about two men traveling together and falling in love. Simple as that.

Oh So Oscar ends the Forever Love series in a lovely way with cameos from characters from other books and a brief visit to somewhere new.
I really liked Oscar and Illias as a couple. Their antagonism/flirty banter at the start never got mean and they complimented each other.
Lower on steam than previous books but that suits the characters well. Low angst too, these guys are old enough to communicate when there's an issue.
The epilogue was adorable.

Reread via audio May 2022
Okay so I was right in my original review to say that part of my issues with this book was that it took me so long to read it the first time and listening to it via audio over a day or two it did work more for me. I do still think it's a little bit underdeveloped and a lot of the scenes cut out or skip past important issues but I did like it better as audio. I'm still sad that this is my like least favorite of the series because I want to hype up all the demisexual books, but it's just wasn't as awesome as the other ones. The dummy sexual representation in and of itself is fine and really well done but the actual plot needed an extra 50 pages.

Original review
As soon as I heard that this was going to have a demisexual main character, I was so on board. To be fair I'm always on board with Charlie Novak books because I love them all and I really wanted to love this one too.

So this is part of a series and you do need to read the other ones. While this says it can be read as a standalone I don't think it can. I think there's too much crossover with the other forever love books but also with the Roll for love books. Oscar, the demisexual travel writer MC is part of a huge sprawling family and A handful of his brothers have their own books and so if you haven't read them it can be kind of confusing when talking about their family and everyone's partners.

Generally, I would say the demisexual representation was well done. It is on page and it's discussed and I think it was done tactfully and respectfully. My one little weird thing about it though is that in all of the other books that talk about Oscar, not a single one mentions his demisexuality and that seems kind of odd to me. Their family is so open in terms of gender and sexuality and the fact that it's never been mentioned before is odd. I don't know if it's because Oscar wasn't a fully-fledged character before, he's always kind of been in the background because he's a travel writer and he didn't have a main role in any of the previous books, but I had wished it had been just hinted at.

Okay so the promise of this book is that Oscar is a travel writer and he gets this gig where he's going to do LGBTQ+ friendly travel spots and his boss thinks that he is in a relationship and says that he and his partner can go on the trip. Of course Oscar is not in a relationship and so he says yes and says he's got a boyfriend even though he doesn't and has to ask his acquaintance? Ilias who is a travel photographer if he'll come with him.

I don't know what it was about this book but I didn't feel as invested as I usually do. It's not a bad book it's not problematic it just didn't draw me in like previous Charlie Novak books have. I think one of the struggles was the time jumps and how while our two MC's did have a lot of great on-page conversations, there was still so many things that got glossed over or skipped and because they went on so many work trips, you kind of miss out on the details of the trips and just get the highlight reel.

God I feel almost like a traitor saying this because I really love Charlie Novak and I love her books and I love everything that she tries to do in her books regarding inclusivity especially with the queer spectrum. And it's not that I didn't like this book, because I did but it isn't a favorite of mine.

I do want to mention too that it took me a long time to read this book. I have been in a big reading slump and struggling hard to get through anything that isn't an audiobook. I will 100% reread this book when it comes out as audio and I think that maybe consuming the book in a shorter period of time will help me get invested. I do think this is definitely a me issue here and I look forward to experiencing the book as an audio.

I received a free advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Oh So Oscar (Forever Love - Book 3) MM

As a Travel Writer Oscar as pitched a Project to his boss and it was accepted. The Project involves visiting holiday locations that cater to and accept LGBTQ+ couples by welcoming them. He has to find a Photographer and also bring his boyfriend and travel as a couple. Trouble is Oscar doesn’t t have a boyfriend.

Illias Verrati is a Travel Photographer and has met Oscar on different locations around the world, on other projects. Sometimes they enjoyed a few friendly drinks after work.

Oscar who is a big shy decides to contact Illias and ask if he’d be interested. Will Illias agree to the conditions of the job of being a fake boyfriend and travelling and living as a couple?

This was quite a novel with a terrific, interesting storyline with two very handsome guys one a Demi and the other completely opposite, only having hookups. Oscar’s family features a lot in this book, Eli, Finn, Lewis, Richard, Jules from Book 1 and 2. Illias was my favourite character in this book.
I’d love to read Lewis and Henry Lou’s story in the future if it gets written.

All good stories from Charlie Novak.

This is just a really sweet slow burn love story. Fake relationship and at the beginning, a reluctant growth a feelings between two men who were merely passing acquaintances before this. There is a lot of adults behaving like adults and handling the start of a new relationship in mature ways, and it was simply lovely to read. Adding in Ilias’s grief and how that’s worked through… I just really enjoyed their journey.

My favorite thing about this world is the family and friends we get to still be a part of even though their story has already been told. Character revisits make this book even more special.

4.25 stars - On-page demisexual, confirmed! I went into this a little wary, bc Finding Finn didn’t work as well as I’d hoped, and we don’t get a lot of Oscar in the related books. He’s sort of a shadowy older brother figure, but nobody seems to have a handle on his personality other than he’s a little grumpy and protective. Which, yes, he is. Ilias is his sunshine-y counterpoint, but not without his own shadows.

This is a high-stakes fake dating book, which I typically love, so when I saw that, I was pleased. It’s about two people who kind of know each other being thrown together on a week long couple’s vacation, and they open up to each other and start to bond. They admit their attraction near the end of the trip and stay in touch thereafter, ending up working together again on a road trip through the UK. The demisexual journey from not being sure to ‘oh wait, actually, YES’ worked for me. There is a bit of catching up with the family and couples from previous books, but it didn’t seem too egregious or that it expected you to have read all the other books to understand what was going on. A well-balanced end to the trilogy.

4,5⭐️ Oscar the traveller, kind of the invisible one of the family since he’s always away but it doesn’t prevent him from protecting his baby brother. When Oscar is asked to write about a couple's retreat, he invents himself as a boyfriend on the spot. He doesn’t know why but one man directly comes to his mind Ilias, the gorgeous, flirting photographer he met several already. Here he is asking him to pretend to be his boyfriend but this trip has more surprise when Oscar realises that he likes him, he wants to know more about him, to discover him.

Ilias was truly surprised by the situation but being a freelance photographer he just jumped on the occasion, also he loves to flirt and try to understand Oscar’s expression. There is something in their interaction, they just get each other, and the dynamic is sweet, dominant and funny.

A sweet, beautiful story with some thought moments but it definitely gives more depth to the characters. Also, I would have loved to see a clash between the two families.

I just enjoyed this book so much. It was so cute and romantic but also so emotional and it really got to me. I really liked how and in which way this book tackled on harder life issues. It was so well done and it really worked for me. And I just couldn’t help but swoon at the romance, these main characters were just so cute together.

I received an arc of this book, and this is my honest opinion

Oscar the travel writer as been hiding in the background of his siblings stories and it's finally his turn. After pitching his idea for a couple trip to his boss suddenly he is in need of a fake boyfriend and his travel photographer acquaintance Ilias is the first name he thinks of.

The pair have their own baggage and issue but after a whirlwind trip to Hawaii the walls start to break down and a genuine relationship builds between them. They have such different problems and hang ups but find ways to support eachother and open up.

I enjoyed the balanced of romance, traveling and deep emotions that were looked at in this book and loved seeing Oscar open up.

This is the perfect conclusion of the serie.
Oscar and Ilias are a very special grumpy/sunshine couple. And the way they both embrace Oscar's demisexuality is truly fascinating.
Also, special mention to how carefully the author explains the loss. Be sure to read the TW.
Yes, it is a standalone, but it is best enjoyed after the Roll for Love series and the Forever Love series.

This book gives the final son of the sprawling combined family that has threaded its way into every corner of Novak’s shared book universe his happily ever after. So far, Oscar’s travel-writer lifestyle (and London home base) means that he has been the most mysterious brother. But the obvious affection his family carries for him means that I knew I’d be more than happy to spend a few hundred pages with him. A misunderstanding puts Oscar on a crash course with Ilias in a fun story that crosses multiple continents and leans into the fake relationship and “only one bed” tropes, supported by the inherent conflict in a grumpy/sunshine match. Luckily, Oscar and Ilias are incredibly self-aware of the ridiculousness of their situation. The circumstances of their professions allow them to embrace the farce and make the best of it.

Their adventure in growing closer at a resort in Hawaii is only the story’s first half. No getting to the end of spending a week together and living happily ever for these two. Part of this is because Oscar and Ilias are both responsible adults with lives to consider. Part is because both carry a bit of baggage over past relationships (romantic and familial), and finally, a bit because Oscar is demisexual. However, plenty of travel adventures remain in store for these two in the remainder of the story, continuing the forced proximity theme that makes it at least a bit easier for the characters to find the chance to open up to each other.

This novel is not necessarily darker than the previous two installments of this trilogy, but it does dig into deeper emotions. The final conflict is a bit more stressful, but Novak balances it wonderfully with excellent (and relevant) appearances by side characters we’ve already grown to love and one of the hottest physical arcs I’ve read recently, especially for fans of the slow burn. Novak also touches on real-world issues that correspond with our heroes’ professions, such as the impact of tourism and sustainable travel. Oscar and Ilias are aware of their roles in this issue and share their thoughts in a manner that never feels preachy.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has already been following Novak’s adventures in this world. It’s probably not the best place to start, series-wise, but that’s okay; I also highly recommend pretty much anything written by this author. I look forward to joining her for further adventures (and I have the feeling this isn’t the last we’ve seen off the Baker-Moore clan).

#1 Always Eli: ★★★★☆ | 4 stars
#2 Finding Finn: ★★★★★ | 5 stars
#3 Oh So Oscar: ★★★★☆ | 4 stars

This is a really great conclusion to a fantastic trilogy, and I really appreciated that each of these books felt like their own thing rather than just different versions of the same story. If Eli was snarky and Finn was steamy, Oscar is definitely sweet.

Oscar Moore is a travel blogger who accidently implied to his boss that he has a partner when he pitches a new column idea about travel recommendations for queer couples. And, now he has to convince Ilias Verrati, a photographer Oscar has know casually for a while, to play along on a week long couple's trip to Hawaii. Ilias is Oscar's opposite in nearly every way. While Oscar is calm and quiet, Ilias is outgoing and full of sunshine and not a little bit cheeky. And as they spend more time together they both realize that maybe this fake relationship could be the start of something truly special.

While this is a much slower paced story than the first two books in the series, I think it works really well for the characters. Their story makes sense who who they are, and it was really nice to see two mature adult characters who talk about boundaries and expectations - the communication was A++. I also think the conversations these two have about how their pasts have shaped them and what they want for their future were really lovely. Especially with regards to Ilias past partner and Oscar's feelings around sex and relationships.

Three Thoughts:
1. The demisexual representation was so well done. As a demisexual person myself, I really appreciated the author taking her time and showing us these two getting to know each other and having feelings develop in a way that felt true to Oscar's character.
2. The discussions about traveling to other places and the potential negative impacts of tourism were great. It was nice to see the characters grappling with the moral implications of their jobs.
3. "Because wherever he was in the world, that was where I wanted to be." *swoon*

Loved the little sneak peak we get of Heather Bay in this book, and I can't wait for the new series. I will read anything Charlie Novak publishes as this point.

ARC received, will follow soon with honest review, but it was so good!

"You're the best lie I've ever told"

Can a successful relationship be built on a lie? In Charlie Novak's skilled hands, yes it can and such a relationship it will be! Oscar finally gets his story in the last of the Baker-Moore stories (sob!) in a fabulous tale. Charlie brings two souls who think they are not meant for relationships, but for different reasons. Oscar, a written journalist, and Ilias, a photojournalist, are tasked by Oscar's editor to experience the Big Island as an LGBTQ couple. While the Hawaii trip is only 50% of the book, it's on the Big Island Oscar and Ilias realize they want more than the fake relationship, discussing Oscar's preceived difficulty and only touching on Ilias's "problem". To me, the book really took off when they returned to London with all pressure from both families (really don't care for some of Ilias's family, adore most of Oscar's) while working on a new assignment taking them all over England. If Novak ever wants to stop writing romance, she could totally write travelogues. Having traveled to the Big Island myself and done many of the adventures, she completely captures the experience (Moana Kea is truly amazing). And her descriptions of the various hotels/towns makes me recreate their trips. Throughout all of this we see Ilias help Oscar move forward as a couple and Oscar giving Ilias the love to say yes to them.

When I think of Charlie Novak's body of works, it's a tapestry with each book being woven into this lovely world. Each book has a starring spot on the tapestry but their threads are picked up in other books. Sometimes in a small thread, a mention of a wedding photographer, a restaurant, a bar. Sometimes, multiple threads, Eli, Lewis, Riley. Ms Novak does a great job of weaving so the books can be read as standalones but if you take the time to read them all, the world, the tapestry she has created is so much more lush and meaningful. In Oscar and Ilias's portion of the tapestry, she has knotted off some threads but has always started another thread. I can not wait!

I don’t know what it is about Charlie Novak’s books, but reading them just makes me happy! Her characters touch my emotions in ways that real life situations just don’t pull off. The relationships she writes deal with actual life issues and situations in which her characters act like real people instead of just words on a page. Her latest, and last in the Forever Love Series, Oh So Oscar is no exception. Oscar is the last family member in the Baker-Moore household to get his HEA and I couldn’t be happier for him. It starts off as a white lie to his boss about being in a relationship so that he is assigned a “couples” review of a Hawaiian resort and it ends up with him finding his true other half in Ilias. As they learn more about each other and how well they fit together during their travels, we fall in love right along with them. The writing is uplifting, even when discussing love and loss. The author shows us that in relationships not everything is perfect a bed of roses, but sometimes the thorns are worth it for the beauty that we find within. If you haven’t read the other books in the series, please do. Even though this is a great story on its own, you will enjoy it more with some background. I would even recommend going back and starting with the “Roll for Love” series as they are all intertwined. Couldn’t recommend this book and honestly anything by this author higher.

Sweet but far too long, and with no conflict in sight this really could have been covered in 200/250 pages.

Some touching moments, and positive things like good communication and acceptance of the other, but honestly I was bored.

The epilogue was so overwhelming, I could not keep a single one of the 20 names straight.

Oh So Oscar is all that I hoped it would be. It's got the swoon, the steam, and all the laughs we've come to expect from Charlie Novak. It features fake boyfriends, friends to lovers and a bit of forced proximity.

Oscar is a travel writer for a very renowned travel magazine. He tells his boss about a feature he'd like to write about LGBTQIA+ friendly vacation spots. Places where same sex couples could go and feel safe. His boss assumes he has a partner and rather than correct her, says he's dating a well known travel photographer he's crossed paths with a few times.

Ilias is a travel photographer who loves what he does and wouldn't change a thing. When he's asked to pretend to be in a relationship and get a free trip out if it, he's game. Plus the magazine will use his photos so it's a win win. So is the fact that Oscar is so attractive.
This story was super fun. I really enjoyed the trips they took and how they navigated problems together instead of butting heads. They had a lot of chemistry as friends but more so as lovers. There's a bit of angst, that could have gotten very heavy, but it wasn't overwhelming.

I adore story/series crossovers and Charlie hit the mark here. I'm sad to see this series ending but I'm so glad I'll be able to visit them whenever I'd like to.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a bit of spicy and fun reading this spring/summer.

Another absolute beauty by Charlie Novak!
I love this family, and I was so curious about the mysterious Oscar, the brother that travels the world and misses Sunday family lunch. Oscar did not disappoint!
After a misunderstanding with his boss forces Oscar to not only have a fake boyfriend but also to go on a romantic tropical getaway with said fake boyfriend, Oscar has to come up with one, and fast.
Enter Ilias, a handsome travel photographer that Oscar has crossed paths with several times. Oscar and Ilias are quite different; Oscar is reserved, a bit grumpy, and keeps his social circle small. Ilias is confident and chatty, and doesn’t mind a one night stand 🤣.
As they get to know each other, these two discover they have more in common than travel journalism. They both have their reasons for avoiding relationships, and both have experienced tragic losses that left scars on their hearts. They find comfort and relief in each other, and their friendship blossoms into something deep and beautiful.
I loved both MCs and I loved getting to see the whole Baker-Moore family! Everyone is back and as hilarious as ever!
This series has been amazing, sweet, spicy, and full of love 💗

“When someone you love dies, you never quite get over it. You just slowly learn how to go on without them. But always keeping them tucked safely in your heart.” ~ Ritu Ghatourey

Oscar is a freelance writer who travels the world evaluating vacation sights. When he has a meeting with the executive of a high-profile travel magazine, he pitches the idea of a series on LGBTQ-friendly sites. The executive jumps at the thought. She offers Oscar and his partner a trip to Hawaii to start the series. The only problem is that Oscar doesn't have a partner. Since he led her to believe he does, Oscar has to invent one fast!

Since Oscar's job keeps him away from home a lot, he hasn't had much opportunity to establish any long-term relationships. The only person he can think of that might fit the bill of a fake boyfriend is a photographer named Ilias. He and Ilias don't know each other well, but after telling the executive that Ilias is his boyfriend, he has to contact him, explain his predicament, and enlist his help.

Ilias is pleasantly surprised to hear from Oscar. He is curious about what he may want and agrees to have lunch with him. After listening to Oscar explain the situation, Ilias agrees. Oscar seems uneasy with the idea of them pretending to be together so Ilias tries to lighten the mood, but Oscar is irritated by his attempts. He makes it clear that this is a business-only arrangement. Ilias concurs.

From the start, it is clear that giving the hotel an excellent rating will be a simple task. Their first obstacle is the sleeping arrangements. The suite is phenomenal, but there is only one bed. It's not a problem for Ilias, but Oscar is uncomfortable at the thought of sleeping with him but gets over it. They enjoy checking out some of the local haunts, and enjoying the food and culture while getting to know each other better. After an uncomfortable afternoon involving a couple's massage, things start to heat up between them, and the fake boyfriend act becomes not so fake after all.

'Oh So Oscar' is the third book in the 'Forever Love' series. It's my favorite so far. I liked Oscar and Ilias and cheered for them all the way. I was relieved to see how they were able to come to terms with their fears and find the love they desperately needed. Thanks, Charlie! I can hardly wait for the next book in the series.

There’s a lot that I loved about Oscar and Ilias’s story. Folks from the first two books in the series show up in such a way that it doesn’t make this one confusing but having read them definitely adds depth and enjoyment (the best way to have a series book IMO - great as a standalone but bonus awesomeness if you’ve read the others). The romance build slowly, in a way that’s very respectful and fitting with the characters’ needs. And the two of them are kind, caring people who are quick to apologize and understand the other’s viewpoint - which is as non-spoilery as I can get but trust me when I say I was exceedingly happy that points that would have been big bleak moments in another book were treated honestly and maturely here. Me, personally, I simply couldn’t get too invested in the guys as individuals - I loved their romance, and the way they helped each other through some emotional issues was well done. It’s not them, it’s me, but it was still an enjoyable read.

I received a free copy of this book from the author. This is my honest opinion.

Travel journalist Oscar Moore has a couple of problems - he accidentally managed to convince his boss that he has a boyfriend and he now has to persuade photographer Ilias Verrati to play along for a week-long couple's retreat in Hawaii. Illias is full of sass and sunshine and he flirts constantly. They just need to manage the week then Oscar can go for editorial glory. Both men have their reasons for avoiding relationships but they also desperately want one. Their work makes relationships difficult so maybe this fake one is what they need. Before Ilias will risk his heart, Oscar will have to find a way to open it.

I loved this story with the two men who avoided risking their hearts but having talked throughout their time together and after their return home they began to realise that it was too late as their hearts had already set themselves on each other. I enjoyed the easy way they were able to talk to each other after their initial awkwardness. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

4.5 ⭐️ 1🌶️

This was another great story from Charlie Novak. After Oscar fumbled through a meeting with the head of the company he works for he needs to find a guy to date fast. He just told his boss he has a boyfriend so he can do an authentic review on a holiday destination - he is a travel writer.

Enter Ilias. The photographer Oscar has met only a couple of times. They embark on the romantic getaway and fake dating slowly starts leading to actually dating.

This is more of a slow burn and I enjoyed the demisexual representation in this. I also enjoyed the level of healthy communication these to have. They definitely get a bit snarky with each other on menial stuff - and they both can’t handle delays dispite how much they must come across them with all the travel - but on the deep stuff they are rock solid for each other and I loved that.

I listened to this one and found it an easy listen, Dan Calley does a good job.

This wasn’t my favourite one in this series but a definite must read.

This book was so good! I have loved all of these books (Roll for Love series and Forever Love series). They are all so good and the characters are just amazing. I have been curious about the brother Oscar who never seems to be around and now we know why. I appreciate how his feelings of loss don’t stop him from loving any of his siblings and I hope we get to see him and both of his moms figure out how to fix their relationship someday. I like to think it happens at some point. This family is too good not to. All feelings of grief are valid, even if you realize how irrational they are. Oscar and Ilias are so good for each other and I love how easily they fall into their roles as partners and coworkers. Both men have grief and loss to work through but they dive headfirst into new work and I love it! So good! And no lack of smexiness either. I really enjoyed it. If you haven’t read Roll for Love, you need to go read that series next so you can know how Lewis meets Jason.

OK, Eli had sass, Finn had steam galore but Oscar really hit all the buttons with being sweet.

This book is the last of the Forever Love series, a shame as they are really a great blended family with characters who you need to love while wanting to punch them at the same time occasionally. I do hope another series will continue with all the characters from Forever Love and Roll for Love books.

Charlie Novak created a loveable couple with Oscar and Illias. Both are no stranger to issues and all is handled great, especially Oscar's demisexuality. Illias is patient while trying to learn to let go of his past.

The fake boyfriend storyline is a tried and tested but it really works here. There is no insta love due to the fact that they are spending a week in paradiese, it comes fairly naturally and as believable as it can be in these stories.

It's definitely a book I will re-read.

I received an advance copy for my honest review.

Oh where do I start with Oscar….? This was honestly such a nice ending to the series.
Oscar is a bit of a grump (which I bloody love btw) Ilias is a happy ray of sunshine you’d think they’d clash but oh boy do they click together. Ilias is amazing and understanding of Oscar’s Demi sexuality. I loved that Oscar was Demi sexual and Charlie has written this in a sensitive and believable manner. Lots of banter between the two of them that honestly had me laughing out loud.

I loved seeing their adventures and them falling in love with each other. This book isn’t as spicy as the previous books in this series. However this fully suits Oscars personality and his relationship with Ilias.

As always I enjoyed the cameos from past characters and members of Oscars family.

If you’re new to this series I’d definitely start with book one to fully experience this family.

I’ve walked away with a new book boyfriend in Ilias and I’m now craving a warm sunny holiday

I think every time I read one of Novak's books, it becomes my new favorite of hers. We've gotten glimpses of Oscar in multiple other books and I was so looking forward to his story. It definitely didn't disappoint! Oscar and Ilias are absolutely adorable together. They have some drama and past experiences to work through but they do so together and come out stronger. Oscar is demisexual, so we get a nice slow burn. There's plenty of heat in the second half of the book and tons of romance throughout the entire story. As always, there are lots of tie ins to previous characters and places from Novak's books. I love how her books and universe are so interconnected. I'm always sad when a series I enjoy ends, but I know there's always a good chance I'll get to revisit some of my favorite characters in future books!

I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my honest opinion.
