THE ALIEN BRIDE LOTTERY IS UNFAIR! VOS KLAVOII IS IN THERE! STANDING AT THE CONCESSION! PLOTTING HIS OPPRESSION!

Yeah, Bianca is a criminal, and sure, Hado arrested her, but is it really a crime if the law you’re breaking is inequitable?

Okay, maybe it is, but I will never disagree with the ones trying to sabotage the Bride Lottery—although in this instance, this is not what is happening.

It’s interesting to see how the series has implemented the in-world critiques and adopted changes in response to them. When I started the series, I never thought the lottery would actually change, but it has.

Bianca was simply not good at what she does, despite what the book tells us. She did no reconnaissance on who hired her, she got caught and played it off horribly, she was surprised she was followed even though she never completed the job, and she confessed everything to Hado (THE ARRESTING OFFICER) the moment she was alone with him. These are simply not the actions and thought processes of a world-renowned thief.

The villains are just so cartoonish and the explanations for everything is so nonsensical that it was more frustrating than enjoyable.

All I know for sure: I need to know what the hell is up with Vos. I’ve been hooked, and I will be reading.

Little different spin on the usual Bride Games books. Bianca Waterstone is a rich, former thief with family connections. Having quit the lucrative business after a too-close-for-comfort brush with law enforcement, Bianca tries out early retirement with a posh villa on an island in the Aegean. She has plenty of family money and a collection of valuable paintings to keep her in the lap of luxury for the rest of her life, but she is bored. When a man manages to breach her impressive security, she decides to hear whatever it is he has gone to so much trouble to con her with and invites him to breakfast. She sucks up the adoration he spews out and eventually agrees to his offer. She knows he is just the front man for someone with plenty of money, but she is just after the thrill and the resources of her employer impress her. The job? Break into a safe at the Khanavai Embassy and snap some pictures. Easy, right? Well, it is until something goes wrong and she gets caught. Then the yummy, pink-skinned Khanavai commander who gives her the tingles throws her in prison.

Hado Bromlibo is a half-human Khanavai with an identical twin. These two identifiers make him an anomaly, and not in a good way. He has finished his stint in the military and has come home to Khanav Prime. His current job is boring and when his brainy brother asks him to come to Station 21, where his differences would be more of a help than a hindrance, he agrees. His first job as security for the first party at the Khanavai Embassy on Earth should be a simple one, until he realizes that one of the attendees is his mate and then he is forced to arrest her.

Great story with some intrigue and hot, Khanavain style loving. Sounds like some more stories will come from the outcome of this one. Can't wait. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a fun 'opposites attract' kind of story, only it's opposites in terms of following laws ;) Bianca is a professional thief, while Hado is in security...hmmm, you say? Well, despite their differences, they do find common ground to take them in a new direction, and not just with their hearts. Lol! Expect a story full of action, betrayal, smart characters and steamy romance. It was definitely fun diving into this one and I'm looking forward to the overarching plot to continue - and maybe more time with these two ;D

A really really good read. I liked Bianca and Hado even Jedzo. I didn't trust Justin at all. I'm looking forward to the next book. 5*.

This is the 8th book in this quick-read series about neon-skinned humanoids & the women who fall for them.

Content warnings:

-Theft
-Imprisonment
-Cops
-Lawyers

This list is not exhaustive, YMMV.

Characters of Colour?

Kind of. It’s mentioned that the MC has light brown skin, but given she usually lives in Greece, that could just be a tan. There is no hint of any characters being culturally varied - no use of AAVE, no hint that there’s been marginalisation due to racial differences, so it’s difficult to read these characters as anything other than Very White.

QUILTTBAG / Queer characters?

Lordy, that would be a hoot & a half! What a delightful subversion of the created norm that would be!
No, none of the characters were explicitly or in any way evidently Queer.

Disabled characters?

Making a Disabled character in this universe would be even easier than making a Queer or racially diverse one. I shall continue to be hopeful that one day we shall have such a character - but it was not in this book.

Worth my time?

At just over 2.5 hours’ read-time, this is a super quick read, with a very happy ending. The differences between the MC & the LI were significant enough that I was incredibly curious about how the story would resolve - those differences were delightful, & the resolution was incredibly satisfying. It felt like a good progression for both of them, with suitable external pressures forcing them to adapt in a way that pushed them closer.
Super fun!

Re-read?

This book is short enough, & it stands alone enough, to just fill an unexpected wait with it. I am already planning to read the whole series again once it is complete, too!

Recommend?

If you like your aliens to be 99% Human with just a tiny little difference here or there, this book, & this series as a whole, is a really good place to start.
Absolutely an Alien Romance Gateway Dru-ahem, Read 😅

Full disclosure: I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book, provided I gave my honest views on it.

Absolutely Outstanding Story . . .

Bianca Waterstone is a professional thief who is supposed to be relaxing in Greece. Instead, she is bored, so when someone wants her to break into a safe at the Khanavai Embassy and snap pictures of the files, she takes the job… and gets caught. Hado Bromlibo -- former military police, eventually licensed for the Khanavai Liaison to Earth Judiciary (with the help of his twin), but at the time a guard at the embassy’s Gala -- had scented her as being his mate when she arrived. He was watching for her to come back and went looking for her when it seemed to be taking too long. He wasn’t happy to think she was a thief because the Khanavi were honorable and valued integrity in all things. But he couldn’t let her go out of his life right now.

Three months after her arrest, Hado joined the attorneys to talk out a deal with Bianca who still insisted she was looking for the restroom when she was arrested in the hall. They still hadn’t figured out what data was hidden in the bracelet she had deliberately discarded in a plant to get them off the scent. The real data was in a necklace she dropped down the elevator shaft. Now she was ready for her desperate move to get out of prison – she claimed bridal amnesty. She was offering to take part in the Bride Games, but solely to buy herself time. More than likely, no honorable Khanavai warrior would choose a criminal. But would she find a way to retrieve the necklace for her client? Could she get out of the bride contract? And how would Hado react to this when he couldn’t allow another male to claim his mate?

I loved this story very much. Watching both Bianca and Hado cleverly deal with the situation kept me intensely focused on the story line. These characters are awesome and so well suited to each other. What will be Bianca’s fate? Can she manipulate out of this? And will she recognize the feelings she has developed toward the handsome, intelligent Hado who is trying to save her life and make her his?

This book 8 in the series and it’s a brilliant read that had me captivated right at the start and took me on a ride that I didn’t want to get off. Bianca Waterstone is a retired Master thief and living the easy life in paradise when a strange man named Justin Decordova invades her life asking for her help with a job at the Khanavai Embassy she is wary but feeling bored she agrees but she doesn’t trust him. Hado Bromlibo is a khanavai warriors who has retired and is now back home on Khanav Prime but he is restless and when his twin brother Jedzo who is a tech wiz on Station 21 tells him to come to Station 21 and he can get him a job he agrees. Now he is on station 21 and his brother Jedzo got him a job as a guard at earths embassy and is at the party watching for anybody suspicious and in walks the most amazing and gorgeous woman he has ever seen and knows she is his mate but then she is gone. When he finds her again she is caught coming out of the Ambassador’s office and he is shocked because how can a thief be his mate and so she is detained and Biannca cannot help but notice how sexy the boss guy Hado is that’s staring at her right now. Now he needs to be close to his mate and his brother helps him with the credentials so he can be on the earths lawyers side on her case. Then she makes a claim and wants to be in Lottery bride as is her right and now Hado is at the prison picking her up to take her to station 21 and while in prison Biannca realises that she was set up and it’s time to trust someone and she tells Hado about everything and he tells her that he also thought that she was and decides to help her get the necklace with the information on it. But they are watching her and they kidnap her and knock Hado out. How does it all turn out can Hado save his mate and have a future with her and does Hado get the ones responsible for it all and get diamond back with information on it. Brilliant book and a must read and I looking forward to the next one.

“No other Khanavai male will ever choose her. I will make sure of it.”

Book eight of the series, this one had an action-packed story line, probably more so than any other so far. The hero, Hado, is actually half human, and we get to know even more about the differences in the Khanavai race. The heroine, Bianca, was very amusing. Super wealthy and a retired professional thief, I laughed at her inner-dialogues.

I enjoyed the spy themed story with all the required action and subterfuge. I do think the story focused too much on the plot, neglecting building the relationship between the two main characters. They spent very little time together that wasn’t focused on the main plot and I never really saw them get to know each other personally except a few brief moments. Because of this I found it difficult to believe they were suddenly together and while they might have had some physical chemistry, I didn’t really feel they had much of an emotional connection or bond. In no way did I finish the book thinking they were in love, nor did they ever even claim to be. Since this is supposed to be a romance novel, the lack of a true love story was very disappointing. Even the bedroom scene seemed abrupt and matter-of-fact, with no foreplay or real emotion. Definitely not what I’m used to in this series that usually focuses much more of the couple’s relationship. Maybe being half-human made Hado less emotionally intense as the prior heroes have been. I assume we will get a book about him twin Jedzo soon. Hopefully he will be a little more passionate than Hado is. We shall see. In the meantime it appears the pilot, Galbon Vlanti, is up next. Having read every single book in the series so far, I plan to continue as long as Margo keeps writing.

This book is honestly more of a 3 1/2 star book but I rounded up because I felt it deserved more than just three stars.

Bianca came from a very wealthy and powerful family but she quickly got bored of the social life. She thrived on the challenges of being a thief and a liar. She was a pro at her job until she quit to start a life on the straight and narrow. Her ill-gotten gains are enough to support her the rest of her life so she has no need to steal any more. After 3 years of living legitimately, she is bored silly. Then a mysterious man breaks into her estate and recruits her to break into the Khanavai Ambassador's safe. They have the perfect equipment and things go as planned until an alarm rings out. Bianca is caught and arrested but is able to hide the evidence she stole before she is interrogated.

Hoda is one of a rare set of twins on Khanavai thanks to his human mothers genetics. He retired from the military a couple of years ago and took a security job. He finds his job incredibly boring so he is eager to change jobs to be closer to his twin. His new job is security for the Khanavai embassy on Earth. His first day there is the special ball for the important humans and Khanavai. His eye is caught by a beautiful human woman who he instantly knows is his fated mate. He wants to get to know her better but she is acting suspiciouly. He is horrified to find out that his mate is a career criminal but he can't abandon her. He changes jobs again to the judicial branch so he can be involved in her case. When her time for trial is ready, he is shocked to find out she has claimed bride amnesty to hopefully earn her freedom. He is assigned to ensure that she makes it to the bride station on time. He will do anything to make her his bride, even break a few laws himself.

Awesome!

I love this series and the next installment doesn’t disappoint!

Bianca Waterstone is a retired thief. There was never anything she couldn’t steal and she has never been caught. But a few years of retirement on a beautiful Greek island has left her board out of her mind. So when she is approached by someone to steal something from the Khanavian Ambassadors safe during a big gala, she can’t resist, even though she knows she is probably making a big mistake!

Hado Bromlibo is a retired Khanavian military analyst working in the private sector and board out of his mind. So when his twin brother convinces him to come to Station 21 and get a job there he agrees. He is sent to earth as security for the big gala because he is half human and more familiar with their customs. When he spots Bianca he is suspicious and follows her. He soon realizes she is his mate just before she disappears.

Well, when things go wrong, they go wrong in a big way. As Bianca sits in jail trying to figure out a way out of this mess, Hado is trying to reconcile how a thief could possibly be his mate and how he is going to save her.

Great book with lots of action and twists and turns! Loved the ending!.

I really enjoyed this story. Bianca is a thief that is coming out of retirement to assist Justin Decordova on a heist regarding the Alien Bride Lottery. Hado is former military that is trying to find a job that suits him and his talents. He takes a job on Earth as Judicial Liaison of the Khanavai Embassy. Hado's first job is security at the Welcome Party of the Khanavai Embassy where he crosses paths with Bianca. From the moment he sees her, he knows she is his mate. He ends up tracking her down while she is gathering data from the ambassador's office. Bianca ends up arrested and stuck in prison for 3 months. Hado changes jobs so that he can be on Bianca's case. It ends up, Bianca and Hado work together to figure out who set her up and why?
I really enjoyed this story because of the plot. I loved the interaction between Bianca and Hado because they do some of the same things to get information, but from two different sides of the law. There is a HEA, funny commentary, and a lot of steam between the two. I highly recommend this book.

This story was completely different from the previous bridal stories. It mainly occurs on Earth. Bianca is bored with her "retirement" She decides to take on one more job. She is smart and can think on her feet. Getting out of sticky situations is fun for her and she is very good at her "trade".
I loved her personality.
Hado is what you would call a law enforcer. Always on the right side of the law. He has had to be. Being a twin in a world were they are unique. He has had to prove himself more than most soldiers. He is bored with his life and wants a change. So he takes up his brothers offer to go to Earth.
From there the adventure really begins. I love the twists and drama between the two. The chemistry is great. Even though they are on the opposite sides of the law. Everything turns out good with an excellent HEA.
The secondary plot is coming along as well. There are still questions that I'm sure will be answered , eventually.
An excellent series. Well thought out, with just the right amount of steam to the eventual romance.

This appeared to not be the standard Alien romance book because it wasn't someone getting put into a bridal/mate program but someone working against that idea. The main character is a former thief who works on "just one last job" when she gets sucked into a scheme that puts her in jail for 3 mos.

Meanwhile the love interest decides she's his mate, becomes a lawyer, gets a job just to be on her legal team. Then he helps her find the "proof" she had and then, just like that, they're kissing. Then all of a sudden they're both in love with each other, with no previous discussion about it leading that way.

Then the rest of the book is barreling towards the end by solving the conspiracy, having a very, very spicy chapter that also doesn't match with the previous tone of the book, then their HEA and that's it

I liked the idea and was getting in to the mystery and the relationship but for all the changes in the second half I ended up being disappointed with the rest.

Bianca has always needed that little frisson which makes life interesting to keep her from being bored. She has set out to achieve all she has wanted in life and yet despite having it all, she has become the one thing she dreaded. She is bored, bored, bored, bored. Her past exploits have meant that she is a person to be watched so she can't get out as much as she might like but despite her now comfortable life there is a pall over it. That is until she is offered the chance to come out of retirement for one last hit. A hit that would have far reaching consequences and also affect those she feels are deserving of it. Hado has walked the straight and narrow almost all of his life. He is a brilliant military strategist and has been asked to do all manner of jobs. He is now primarily dealing with security but his latest mission is the one that might just tip him over and totally corrupt him beyond redemption. What mmaner of temptation might that be, a human female named Bianca. Sit back and enjoy the subterfuge, intrigue and watching the sparks fly between these two. Loved them!.

Bianca is a human woman who comes from wealth and has created even more for herself though her skills as a thief and, using her family's money and connections, has managed to keep herself out of the Bride Lottery, until now. She has enough to last her a couple of lifetimes but when someone approaches her with a job that intrigues her she just cannot say no. Turns out the job isn't quite what it appeared and she gets caught by Hoda, newly arrived on Earth to a new security position. Hoda was one of twins, something not very common amongst the Khanavai and people often underestimate his intelligence. The second he catches her scent he knows what Bianca is to him but how could fate possibly have put him with someone who is a criminal. I really enjoyed the journey they took together, each learning as much, if not more, about themselves than they did of each other. Fabulous characters and a wonderful story line.

This story is a bit different than the others in this series. There is not a competition or a bride trying to avoid being chosen. Most of this one takes place in the Khanavai Embassy on Earth. Hado Bromlibo is former military and has become bored with his current job on Khanava Prime. He convinces his brother Jedzo, the tech wizard on Station 21, to help him find something on the station. He gets something even better, an assignment at the Embassy in New York. Bianca Waterstone is a rich, spoiled, supposed to be retired professional thief. She is bored just living on her private island and agrees to steal information from the Khanavai Embassy. Hado spots at the embassy reception and follows her, and catches her in the act. He doesn’t have a problem catching a thief. He does have a problem when it seems that said thief is his mate. This just got interesting. This story is full of adventure, intrigue, espionage, lots of twists, turns, and surprises. Is there romance? Will Hado accept Bianca as his mate? Will she accept him? What can two restless people who have just found each other and a heap of trouble do? That’s one of the surprises! Interesting story and great characters.

This is book 8 of the Khanavai Warrior Bride Games. It can be enjoyed as a stand alone. This is the story of Bianca Waterstone and Hado Bromlibo . Bianca is a very good retired thief. Using her boredom against her, she is lured out of retirement for another job. Hado is a retired military and an Khanavai Warrior. He is working security at the Khanavai Embassy. The two meet at the function and it doesn't end well. Arresting your mate and putting her in jail never bodes well for an easy relationship. Hado needs to find her and help her. She needs a warrior to help her avoid prison on earth. Both of them work together to solve the problem but from opposite sides of the law. Sparks fly from their chemistry. This is their story. This is a well written book and easy to read. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Engaging story about Bianca Waterstone an art thief who was bored of her rich life started working into high security systems and then retired on a Greek island. Approached by Justin Decordova to obtain information from the Khanavai Embassy discovers information to blackmailed Vos Klavoii into the Bride Lottery after being caught leaving his office and Hado Bromlibo, twin brother of Jedzo, who is bored and unsure about his life goals goes to Station 21 to join with his brother as the new Judicial Liaison team. During a party in the new Khanavai Embassy, Hado feels drawn toward Bianca and follows her only losing her to the crowd. When they both meet again in a holding cell, can Hado accept Bianca his mate being a criminal? What occurs is another engaging story in this series I enjoyed reading and volunteer to review,

"“The best laid plans of mice and men,” I muttered to myself. And women."

Bianca is a master thief, offered a chance to be part of an irresistible score, but some temptations really ought to be resisted.

Hoda is bored. Just because people think he's the twin who got the brand instead of the brains doesn't mean he should settle, and accidentally prove them right. When he decides to take an interesting job he realizes using all his skills is fun... and maybe his law-biding, law-enforcing ways have more in common than he would have guessed.

This done in one kindle unlimited quick read stands solidly on its own, while moving the overarching arc forward. An interesting story about blending in to your environment, being a part of your community, the strength of friendships, and the power of genuine allies in life.

Alien and human spies, jewel thieves, hot smart alien men... wow! This book has it all. There's danger around every corner for Bianca as she steals information on an expensive jewel about the alien bride lottery. Hado does all kinds of unethical things to keep himself in Bianca path. She is his true mate, but until she is out of the trouble she's in, he can't claim her. As they finally work together, they're true feelings are not to be ignored and they come up with a plan to get them out of the trouble Bianca faces.
This book kept me reading and wanting more. I liked how far Hado would go to help and protect his mate even before they officially met. There's also some of steamy time between Bianca and Hado.

Bianca, the female human lead and retired thief, is enticed to steal information from the aliens now on Earth. Hado, the male alien lead, has retired from the military and is bored. When he sees Bianca entering a ball he’s acting as security for, he knows she’s his mate. When he has to arrest her later, he works to put himself in a position where he can help save her. But neither of them feels civilian life suits them individually or as a couple…

This novella is dual POV, well written, and I enjoyed the lead characters immensely. I appreciated their restless spirits and how they complemented each other. I enjoyed their interactions and the building of trust in the relationship.

Bianca (h) is a retired thief who has grown bored and agrees to a job to steal information related to the Alien Bride Games held in a safe at the Khanavai Embassy. Hado (H) is part of the embassy security team, and he realizes he's found his mate as soon as he scents Bianca. The theft plan goes awry and with Bianca caught, she finds herself claiming immunity to participate in the Bride Games. Now Hado has to figure out how to help his mate and keep her from being selected by some other Khanavai warrior. This one felt a bit more on the action and espionage side with a just a little bit of hot and steamy action. Jedzo, Hado's twin, was back, as were a few other characters from previous books, but it really felt peripheral to the Bride Games

I am absolutely loving this series. Each book can be read separately, but there are characters that are in each story that make the next story more enjoyable. I loved Hado who is the twin brother of Jedzo the wiz with everything electric and technical. Hado is fed up with his job, so he gets his brother to get him to Station 21 where the brides go, but it’s only for a night, Hado gets a job at the embassy on earth and it is there where he meets his mate Bianca. But Bianca is a professional thief who has been set up to gather information. There’s a whole lot of espionage and intrigue in this story but it’s still not over. It would be interesting to read the next story after this one.

This is book 8 of the Khanavai Warrior Bride Games series. Bianca gets caught at the Khanavai Embassy stealing and is sent to jail. Hado realizes right away that she is his mate but needs to get her out of jail. They return to the Embassy to retrieve something she left there on the night of the theft. She gets caught by one of the guys who set her up for the theft and Hado must get her away safetly. Once on Station 21 they are recruited to work for the Khanavai government. They also become mates for life. This is a great book filled with action, steam and romance. I recommend this book to anyone who loves aliens, steam and love.

I enjoyed this book. Good world building. It was a fun read. I found it very amusing that the catalyst for both characters in this story is boredom. Bianca was a former thief and had more than enough money to live in comfort and luxury for the rest of her life, but after three years was bored out of her mind. When a job prospect literally walks into her home, she accepts it for the thrill- steal information from the Khanavai Embassy. Hado was bored- out of the military and his career doing nowhere. When his twin brother- the brains to his brawn- convinces him to go to Station 21 and take a security job at the Khanavai Embassy, he never expects to find- and arrest- his fated mate. An enjoyable read. 4 stars.

I love that this series can be read as standalone, but if you are like me, I have to read them all. And with this series available on Kindle Unlimited, that is easy enough to do. Hado Bromlibo is a retired khanavai warriors who is bored and restless. So when his twin brother Jedzo offers to help him find a job at Earth's Embassy on Station 21, he jumps at the chance. There at a party, he sees the most beautiful women, and who he believes to be his mate, Bianca. But the next time he sees her, she is arrested. How can he be mated to a criminal? This book is well paced, the characters well written, compelling, has sizzle, steam, action, drama, and more. Solid read.

I have enjoyed all of this series involving the Khanavai warriors and their brides. This book was good in that it showed another aspect of the Bride Games with Bianca, a wealthy woman whose family paid to keep her out of the games and Hedo a non-warrior. As the games begin to open up to the Khanavai in general more opposition and some shady business to shut down the games and possibly rid the planet of the protection provided by the Khanavai moves closer to the forefront. This book has lots of action, a car chase, and great chemistry. I look forward to seeing what other secrets come to light and who's behind the group trying to end the games.

I was not too excited to read that the heroine is a thief but I could not have been more wrong! Bianca Waterstone is not just any thief but a high-end thief. But she has taken on more than she can handle when she steals information at the Khanavai Embassy. The Khanavai guard who arrests her is her mate - Hado Bromlibo, a half-human Khanavai who realizes she is his mate and is horrified that his mate is a criminal. What an entertaining installment in the Alien Bride Lottery series. I think it is the best one. Truly enjoyable.

Bianca doesn’t need the work, but she received an intriguing job off to get information on the Alien Bride Lottery. To pull this on off she will be stealing from the Khanavai Embassy. Hado never expected the woman who caught his attention was a thief that he would soon catch after she stole files from the ambassador's office, or that she would turn out to be his mate. I absolutely adored these characters, they’re well written and always interesting. Steamy interactions, surprising twist and a happily ever after. I recommend this book to other fans of this genre.

A New Twist!!

Most of this story is set on earth. Our main character Bianca is a thief. She is challenged to come out of retirement to crack an impossible system at the Khanavai Embassy. It is a setup and she is captured for the first time in her life. Hado Bromlibo is a guard at the embassy when Bianca attempts her break-in. She comes to his attention as she is most likely his mate. When she is taken into custody he arranges to become a Judiciary and continue on her case.

An intriguing set of circumstances, and a mutual attraction make this story quite entertaining.
