Really cute early reader book. Recommended for 1st & 2nd graders, though there are some bigger words in it so I would say 2nd grade. Colorful artwork, good pacing and a sweet story of problem solving and teamwork.

I'm in my mid-30s and love this series; I'm so happy to see it getting a bigger following and even it's own TV show.
This one wasn't my favorite (the story felt a bit duller than usual?), but still a cute installment which sees Eva and her town putting on a music festival.

Eva's life is always full of excitement, especially when she and her classmates decide to start a band. They have an important mission to save the Woodland Style music festival, and they need to find the secret singer who hits the high notes perfectly. It's like a musical mystery!
Eva and her friends work hard to create a band, but they face the challenge of not knowing who the secret singer is. They practice, brainstorm, and try to uncover the mysterious vocalist before the big performance. Will Eva be able to solve the puzzle and unveil the identity of the secret singer? You'll have to read the book to find out!
One funny moment in the story is when Eva and her bandmates are practicing. They face pressure from another team watching them, particularly a guy named George. For Christmas, I guess I'm (re)reading the books I last handed off to the niece, who has homework of reading for at least 20 minutes a day. I had thought she would like this series, since she liked owls*... but the feedback I got was she didn't really take to any of the books.
*I* think it's an Okay book. It's very unchallenging, in that the biggest problem they have is this misguided idea that they can't have a music "festival" with only ONE band, so they have to find a second band to replace the one that cancelled. I can see where maybe it might lose a younger reader who is less than enthusiastic about reading homework, though, even though it seems exactly in that specific younger reader's range.
What do I know, though? I just happen to be a distant relative, comparatively (an hour away and rarely do our paths cross).
Recommended for owl and music lovers, though!

But when the 2nd band has to cancel and only Eva's brother's band is left, the entire festival might have to be cancelled. Eva decides to form her own band so the festival can go on. But will they be good enough in time to perform?
A musical adventure for Eva and her friends this time. Eva starts off by just bluffing about the band, but manages to pull it together for real thanks to a background singer who doesn't realize how good she is. I like how Eva and her friends give this talented singer a confidence boost instead of getting jealous or anything. I do wish Eva had been talked to about faking the band at first, but overall it is a good story and I like the teamwork.

The Woodlandstock Music Festival is coming up and Eva's brother, Humphrey, has a band that will be performing. But when the other band drops out, the festival has to be cancelled. There can't be a festival with just one band (Humphrey's) performing. To help her brother out, Eva volunteers to not just sing, but form a band to also perform. Will Eva and her friends be able to pull off a decent sounding band in time for the festival?
I like the unpresuming and shy character of Zara. She's the owl with the best voice but will she be able to muster up the courage to get on stage?

Cute story where Eva saves the day by forming her own band so the Woodlandstock Festival won't be canceled. Unfortunately the singing is not consistent. Sometimes it sounds wonderful, other times not so good. Eva's brother Humphrey hears them and says they must get better or they can't perform. Eva is desperate to find the reason behind the good singing and make it happen all the time. By process of elimination Eva finds out a surprising reason for the beautiful singing.

This totally owlsome book is about Eva's brother's music festival. It gets canceled when a band drops out. Eva tries to save the day by creating a band to take their place. But, how will they find musicians? Who has the best voice? Will they have stage fright?

There were some small things I didn't like, like when Eva said she didn't like when her mom tried to dress in cool clothes. Little kids don't need to be encouraged to have a teenage attitude. But I liked that the kids came together to form a band.

Humphrey’s band they couldn’t play it cause the festible was canceled and Eva saved it and then she made up a band too! It was called flying bluebells.

I had read these with my older sons, but now boys #3 and #4 are enjoying them, especially since Cooper likes birds so much.
