I enjoyed this!

This was the first book that I’ve read by Quardeay and I was not disappointed!

The storyline really drew me in and my heart went out to Kingdom. The loss of his brother and the mistreatment he faced from his mother was heartbreaking. His pain was palatable. Kingdom was a prime example of black men carrying the world on their shoulders with no outlet.

I really loved Koryn! She was quite the character! I found myself cracking up during her scenes! She was hilarious! She was such sweetheart. I loved the loyalty that she showed towards those she was closest too. I loved how much she fought for her sister.

Kingdom and Koryn’s first encounter was hilarious! I really enjoyed those two together. Their talks, vulnerability and genuine chemistry was everything!

I just wish that we had more scenes with them. They really didn’t come together until about 60% into the book. I loved the character development and reading about them in their own individual spaces, but when they were together, it was magic. Hooooooneeyyyy their spicy scenes were freak nasty! I loved it!

The storyline was really good! There were some twists and turns. Some things were pretty predictable and I saw them coming.

The importance of mental health was a primary theme in this book. Especially the mental health of black men, which unfortunately is glossed over.

I really like Quardeay’s writing style. His use of imagery really paints out the scenes as though you are really there.

Overall I really enjoyed this story! It really touched my heart. Amazing job Quardeay. I look forward to what you bring us next!

Thug Therapy

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer! Whoaaa! Kingdom went through so much mental abuse by the one person that should have never done it. People don't realize how that triggers the insecurities which lead to behaviors that they may not have done. Korryn was all about her sister. Not taking into account that everybody grieves differently. She did what she had to do to protect her family. Breon and Kofi were to sick individuals who couldn't handle reality. But the ending was everything! Taking time to just work on yourself and heal from your trauma's is what it's all about.

THE GOAT

Amazing words formed an amazing story from an amazing author. Quardeay created a world that engulfs you in the lives of his characters and the gritty world that Milwaukee can be at times.

Amazing scenery and character development, great plot twists and mystery, paired with a healthy amount of raucous and raunchy romance. Great work!

Thug Therapy: Romancing a Real One

Whew! This book did not hold back! 🤯 Kingdom and his battles… Korryn and her struggles… there was so much stacked against them but those two were TOUGH!! Korryn’s chapters were my favorite because she was hilarious but the passion in Kingdom jumped off the pages. This was a great read!!
Happy reading 💖

in the beginning of the storyline the character Kingston was drinking his sorrows and having sexual encounters with random women it’s nothing serious just sex ! Kingston is mourning the death his little brother Princeton he felt like if he wasn’t caught up with a female could’ve saved his life however I’m getting the vibe of the scene where Tupac and Janet shared an Intimate moment by the beach on the way to Oakland to come find out his cousin was murdered then have an argument with Janet afterwords even tho she was falling for him ! Kingston speaks about his passion about cooking how he was responsible cooking meals for him and his brother while his mother work late nights as a nurse however he did obtain a culinary degree he just didn’t wanna cook with culinary uptight know it all’s it reminds of me of the character Brandon in the story the chi of his passion of cooking and becoming a chef! Kingston kept his eye on the streets by doing side hustles such as Grubhub door dash etc I must say this character is definitely ghost but more to the streets.
As the storyline continues you get to meet the lovely Korryn she’s an best selling author ✍️ however she’s struggling with the relationships of her sister Krissy who became a dope fiend after the death of their mother and Korryn has been trying to figure out ways to save her on the other hand her Aunt Kea wants her to let her sister hit rock bottom and find her way up again but in her heart she can’t do that ! Not to mention about her toxic relationship with her boyfriend Kofi they had their ups and downs especially in the bedroom Kingdom has been fighting with demons about the lost of his brother Princeton while taking door dash orders he came across an order from the lovely Korryn and then that’s when their love story takes off ! This story has its twists and turns you gotta read and to see what happens next
In my final words, in this storyline I loved the fact that the author highlights mental health awareness in the storyline and how each character has overcome their own demons and being able to let of go of all the burdens that’s been holding them hostage for so long I’m glad that Kingdom and Korryn found each other in the end of this novel I look forward to reading more incredible stories from this author ✍️ in the future I must say and he has gained another reader!

Everybody Needs Some Thug Therapy!!

Kingdom thought his brother got killed because of him, in reality his brother got killed over a girl. Breon had his cousin do it. Now they are two dead mfers cause he couldn't let his girl be happy. Korryn should have dog walked Aries. Like she did Kofi. Auntie Kea was with the ishes all she cared about was her guns and her wigs. Korryn should have known that Aries was talking about her man because that was personal. Amari choked Prissy just to make her go to rehab because she wasn't going listen to her her sister and Reign was dead and gone. Gina was the evil, bitter and the worst parent to have. She blamed Kingdom for everything his father did, but she's the one who slept with him. Mother's got a lot of nerve to blame to the father's. Ashlee was caught in the middle of them. Korryn better had put that money to good use. Kingdom was talking to Imani all crazy blaming her because his brother got killed. Kingdom and Korryn bring out the best of each other.

Kingdom

I really enjoyed the storyline and it’s uniqueness. Kingdom had a lot of layers and given his background it all made sense.

I felt so back from him in the beginning and the interacts between him and his mother were heartbreaking.

Kingdom & Korryn’s 1st encounter was hilarious! Love can form under the craziest circumstances. They were both lacking Love and true support from the people around them.

I will say that based on the writing style
I accurately predicted most of the outcomes except that ending! Kingdom said he wasn’t resting until justice was served and he was not playing. If “I’m not a Killa but don’t push me” was a person. Very good book ❤️

First read By this author and I was blown away!!! He has a real talent with words from funny to touching on some very important topics. Mental illness is real.Therapy can help work through this. But it’s still considered a stigma. Please don’t let it be. Reach out. Also cancer drug addiction n alcoholic. Powerful book must read I absolutely loved Kingdom n Korrey. Must read!!

This was my first read by this author and I must say he did an amazing job writing this book bc he touched an a lot of stuff that ppl go though in life. I loved the ending where his mother confessed her love to him even though it was in a letter it helped him in knowing that she was proud of his accomplishments. Happy Tears!

Two damaged souls found solace and comfort from their personal demons. This story was unlike anything I’ve ever read. It addresses how tragic situations affect our mental health and how genuine souls can help us on the path to healing. Kingdom was indeed a king, even with his flaws. Korryn was just what he needed and I loved that she was strong! Very well written!🖤

This was such a good book omggg 🥺 I truly enjoyed the storyline & I felt for both Kingdom and Korryn. He had so much guilt surrounding him with his brother & his mother didn’t make it better at all! & Korryn had guilt surrounding her with her sister. They were great for each other & I’m glad they were able to get to a place of healing ❤️

Good read

Second book I read from this author & it was good. Wish it was longer so we could have gotten a more to korryn & king. And the building of their relationship. Nonetheless, it was still good. Don't hesitate to read.

Great book

This book was so touching and it brought attention to mental health. So many guys deal with demons and instead of them getting therapy they push that trauma on to the others around them. I'm glad that Kingdom finally dealt with his demons and pursued his dreams.

Awwwwww I love it

Everyone needs their thug lol! This story was so simple yet so complex. It touched on so many different topics and had me laughing most of the time. The ending had me crying but sometimes a change is needed rather for good or bad.
