Carve up the world…

From the moment my sexy death angel strode through that door, I’d been in lust. Or at least that was what I told myself. Beautiful, powerful, and far too dangerous for me, and I was hooked.

Utterly, irrevocably hooked.

Course, she had her own personal psycho puppy and, man, as much as I’d like to hate him, I didn’t. The dude was OCD to the point of painful when it came to cleaning, and he had the best skills in the kitchen. He also worshiped the ground she walked on.

Same, man, same.

We were making this work, even with the Fed in the dungeon. Then she didn’t come home. I didn’t care what I had to do, I was going to get her back.

If that meant letting the Fed out and working with him, then I was down. He could kick down the door and break the bones, whatever it took. If we had to take the world apart, well, then that was what we’d do.

Rick needed her. Mr. Call Me Cash was obsessed with her.

And me?

Well, I was all of the above. No way we were letting her go without a fight, not after we’d hit more than one high note together.

HIGH NOTE is a full length dark adult romance and psychological thriller with suspenseful themes. Any trigger warnings will be included in the foreword. Some situations may be uncomfortable for readers. This is a reverse harem novel, meaning the main character has more than one love interest. This is book three in the series.

I love books. Not just a little bit, but a lot. Books were my best friends when I was growing up. Books didn’t care if I was new to a town or to a class. They were always there, my trustiest of companions. Until they turned on me and said I had to write them.

I can tell you that my own personal happily ever after included writing books. I’ve always said that an HEA is a work in progress. It’s true in my marriage, my friendships, and in my career. I am constantly nurturing my muse as we dive into new tales, new tropes, new characters and more.

After seventeen years back in Texas, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in search of seasons, new experiences, and new geography. I can’t wait to discover what life (and my muse) have in store for me.

Maybe writing was always my destiny and romance my fate. After all, my grandmother wasn’t a fan of picture books and used to read me her Harlequin Romance novels.

Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, friends to enemies to lovers, you name it, I love them and love to write them. I started with Earth Witches Aren’t Easy, the first in the Chance Monroe trilogy, but my characters and I have traveled a long way since I created that urban fantasy world.

One of the series I hear my readers recommend the most is the Untouchable series followed in quick succession by the Vandals, and that just delights me. No lie, whenever one of my readers brings up my wolves, I do a little a fist pump.

I’m active on social media, and I love hearing from readers. Feel free to tag me with a question about any of my books, or just say hi!

Another good addition to the series and I enjoyed this a lot. Cash is finally being brought into the fold baby steps at first but he is a definite asset to this self-made family. I feel he provides the much-needed dominance so that Vienna has someone who will push back against her. I adore Rick and Fletcher but they do adhere totally to Vienna's wishes and Cash is the energy I felt that was missing.

I'm enjoying the action suspense and spice this series delivers and there was much more action going on in terms of jobs in this third book. The chemistry was once again on point and the ending was something I've suspected all along. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next and so far this series has been exceptional and one I'm loving.

Safety info, content warnings and tropes down below.

This one isn't my favorite in the series, mostly because of Cash. He just doesn't really fit in the poly relationship with the others and I don't like his personality, lol. I'm curious about how I'll feel about him after the final book because I don't remember any of it from the first time I read it.

Fletcher and Rick are still the best, and Rick is the best MMC ever. For a series about a serial killer's vigilante daughter, there's a lot of humor and lighthearted moments. There's also plenty of spice, and -- sadly -- not too much action. At least not as much as I'd prefer.

Will be good to finish the final book. I don't even remember how it ends.

“Table this dick measuring contest until we have her back.” Then I glanced at the Fed and met his hard, unyielding stare. “To be clear, the big guy will win, but my dick’s pretty fucking spectacular cause I know how to use it. You? You’re just a dick right now. A dick without a purpose.”

There went all my hard work. The Fed was gonna be an asshole, Rick was gonna tear him apart, and I’d have to learn how to get blood out of the carpet.

He has kept his word so far,” the friendly giant rumbled. His whole demeanor was really a study in psychology. His height—which almost matched mine—and build, radiated menace. But he cleaned and cooked like the happiest little housewife, and I’d bet he melted for Vienna.

Drew was so soft, yet strong. Having her in my lap was like having my very own killer stuffy.

This was a fantastic continuation of Vienna’s story! We get to see how she handles things when they don’t go her way - when they get reaaaaallly out of her control. The guys have to function without her, which definitely adds some tension and drama to the story. It also offers us more insight into their personalities. I love the developing dynamic between Rick and Fletcher, especially once Cash is in the mix. His personality clashes with theirs as they sort out the new dynamic, but it seems to strengthen the bond that Fletcher and Rick have been building.
We get another inside peek at the network and Vienna’s various connections. We find out more about what happened to her dad, and some new suspects pop up. There is a lot of suspense and thrills in this book, more so than the first two. Also plenty of spice 🔥🔥🔥🔥 The ending was an intriguing cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

High Note is fire bringing the steam to this series! This starts right out in the sticky situation the last book left off in and V is not a damsel in distress, she is leading the charge, even if a certain male is having a hard time with that concept. We have a lot of relationship building throughout with some new clues to our overall mystery tucked in. The ending is a whole new shocker that you won't see coming. What a fun and hot read!

High Note by Heather Long and Blake Blessing is a dark reverse harem romantic suspense. This is the third book in the Cardinal Sins series.

I love Heather and Blake's books. They do an amazing job pulling me into the story. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next. I am really enjoying the relationship blooming between Vienna, Merrick, Fletcher, and Cash. I love that we get all of their points of view throughout the book. It really brings the story to life.

The book ends on a great cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait for the final book in the series Final Book to be released on October 11, 2022.

I would recommend this book if you like romantic suspense, psychological thrillers, or dark romances.

OMG

Heather and Blake have done it again. I am still in shock of this book and I had an ARC to try and get myself pulled together. Seeing Vi and the guys going through it and not to mention THAT scene 🥵🥵🥵🥵. I will gladly let Rick and Cash tell me what to do any day. But that last scene? The next book can’t come fast enough.

I love this book from start to finish, it took me less than a day to read once I started, and thought it was a fast-paced book. If you enjoy spice, thrills, suspense, and RH books then I highly suggest this one. Just be warned there is a cliffhanger at the end of it! Thank you for the chance to read this book via an ARC.

WHAT A WILD RIDE!!

After the cliffhanger from First Chorus, this book begins with Rick and Fletcher trying to figure what happened to Vienna and letting Cash out of his prison to help track her down. With the help of one of Cash’s CI (another mysterious man with blue eyes), they are finally able to track her down. But of course, Vienna has already managed to save herself.
With Vienna located and healing, there are still so many questions that need to be answered. The major one being can Vienna trust Cash?
"He tasted like danger, edged in pure fire. If I wasn't careful, I was going to get burned.
He tells her she can, Rick and Fletcher trust him, at least a little bit. While Cash tries to find his place, Vienna is still on her mission, find out what happened to her father. And Cash winds-up offering a fresher look to things, plus some connections neither one of them were expecting.

I am sad to know that it's almost over! One book left in Vienna's story (Last Word is anticipated for an October release).
There are events that occur in this book that I have been waiting for since the series started! I can hardly wait for what happens next. There is still so much that needs to happen or questions that needs answering.

I am expecting some good hostility coming to Vienna's harem. But Vienna would never let anything happen to her guys.

Rick is still my fave from Vienna's harem. He is just so sweet and stoic.
Fletcher, or 'Pincushion', has his moments, due to his comic relief.
But Cash still needs to grow on me a little bit more.

I love that this is in multiple POVs. In my perspective, multiple POV's adds so much more to the story.

This one ends on another cliffhanger, just like the others. And I am SO EXCITED for the last book.

This is def for fans of vigilante/serial killer and RH romance lovers. If that's you and you haven't started this series, I HIGHLY recommend! Start with Kill Song and experience Vienna and Rick's meet-cute (among other things!).

Book three picks up where book two ended, and it ends up with Cash being let out to help Rick and Fletcher find Vienna.

Cash comes in with the can do attitude. He rubs Rick and Fletcher the wrong way, but he helps them work through the chaos that encompasses their mind, he keeps them on the straight and narrow, as they each utilise there knows skills to track Vienna’s movements, which leads them to someone connected to Vienna, and them completing work of her behalf.

Rick and Fletcher have come to rely on each other, as each of them does small things to help the other out. This is all they can do to keep their sanity in check, to stop them from worrying about Vienna, where she is and what may be happening to her.

However Vienna has her wits about her, and when she learns who was responsible for her predicament, she is left in disbelief that she allowed this person to get the drop on her, but Vienna bides her times, and fights back, because her skill set is the only thing that is going to get her out of the situation that she is in.

And when Rick, Fletcher and Cash get a credible tip, there off to save Vienna, yet when they all come face to face with her, she is worse for ware, but it was them, plus her strength and determination that got her through and out the other side.

Cash has the uncanny ability to put his foot in his mouth and ask questions, questions that tick Vienna off, but moreso the face that Cash has been let out of him confines, free to walk around. Fletcher and Rick are building their trust with him, however Vienna is reserving judgement.

The connection between Cash and Vienna is undeniable and it all finally comes to a head in a night of no bars hold, wild, passionate, rough, fulfilling, dominating şëx, and from this moment forward it changes the whole dynamics of Vienna’s relationship with Rick and Fletcher, and this is something they now have come to accept, for her.

Things begin to click into place, and when Vienna learns to identity of the Vanisher, things begin to make a whole lot of sense, yet duty to save the innocent outweighs the need to get the desired answers.

Rick, Fletcher and Cash, each have their own dynamics, quirks that make them tick and sets them apart from each other, but the one common denominator is Vienna. They each give her a piece of themselves. And in one night the entire dynamics of their relationship changes as they come together to give Vienna a night of unbridled pleasure the likes of which she has never experienced before. Cash’s control and dominance will have you blushing in all the right places.

Because one thing is certain between all four of them, after this night there is no going back, the foundations of trust has been solidified bringing them together like never before and bringing Cash into their inner circle, with his skill set, will change the way they do things moving forward.

But everything changes when the answers that Vienna has been looking for have been staring her in the face, when her and Cash discover the true meaning of red death, and the volumes of information that they discover, leads them to a destination and an unlikely truth that will forever change Vienna, forever.

Alas this book ends on a cliffhanger, again, but don’t fret, book four is a calling!

Who does Vienna think she is?

She kidnapped Cash, thinking he was an FBI agent (he is a former one), locks him up for god knows how long. And when he is let out, he is literally the only reason Rick and Fletcher were able to find her after she went missing.

And yet they treat him like he owes them, and he needs to prove himself to them. He doesn’t owe any of them a damn thing!
He even had to argue ablyt why she should allow him to come back with them, when she mentioned in her inner monologue letting him go wasn’t an option because of everything he knew.
It’s like she just needs someone to grovel at her feet or something.

He also tried to literally help her solve her fathers murder, and said she was biased because of her connection to him and her uncle David. And she would get so mad at him, and even punch him in the face.
This wasn’t when they were sparring or anything. They were just talking.
A man would never have been able to do that in a rage, or even sadness and grief. For obvious reasons. But a woman isn’t exempt from this just because she is a woman.

And they are just at her beck and call all the time. They make food, they wash the house, they run her baths and brings her wine.
Like, are you for real.

It would have been sweet if not for how she treats them the rest of the time.
She only shares information when she feels like it.
She takes off alone, excluding them. Maybe she learns something important or at least something that upsets her. And she comes back home and just says she needs a bath, or to relax.
JUST TELL THEM WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED.
And when Cash tries to push the subject, both Rick and Fletcher will jump down his throat and threaten to lock him up in the basement for a while.
This pissed me off as well. Especially the time they actually knocked him out and did it as well.

Vienna is not only calling her father Daddy in her head, but also when conversing with other people about him.
I honestly just can’t.
Especially when she uses the term at least ten times during ONE conversation.
Christ.

I gave more than one star for Cash only. Though honestly. He should run for the hills.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

High note is a dark reverse harem romance. You need to heed the warning in the beginning of the book because it will contain triggers for some readers. You also need to read the first two books or you will be lost.
This book picks up right where we left off. Vienna is missing and the guy have to find her. They are not letting he go no matter what they have to do to find her. This is where the guys find out if they can trust each other or if they are bound to be enemies. This is the book where there is some serious relationship building and you get to know the guys a whole lot better than you did in the previous two books. They guys even learn to tolerate each other and share. I do not want to say to much about the book and give something away. I loved this story so much and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one.

“Everyone Made Choices…..This was Mine”

Vienna is BACK and with a bang! High Note is what I consider “Cash’s Book” This is the book where we see Cash solidify his role in Vienna’s life from being a mere FBI agent she was keeping in her basement, to an accomplice AND a Love and man am I here for it.

And the action! As Vienna continues on her quest to learn what happened to her Dad, things are starting to get more and more real for us.

Sure didn’t see SJ for what she was. And neither, clearly did Vienna. I loved her inner dialogue about what was going to happen/should happen/may happen in that situation. Like how could she fault her for wanting to avenge her Dad when Vienna has the exact same goals, but in the end. A girls gotta do……though I did totally love it when Vienna challenged SJ about wanting to lure out someone she thought was a serial killer…that right there…fantastic.

Anyways, back to New Guy as Fletcher calls Cash regularly in the book, I love it. I also love watching him attempting to figure out the lay of the land at Vienna’s house/world/with the guys and constantly learning, HE’S not, despite what he thinks, in charge. He may have ideas and skills, but this is Vienna’s rodeo, even if they are “allowed” on jobs and accompanying her places. I love watching the guys banter back and forth and how Vienna manages that as well. There are some absolutely perfect scenes in this book!

High Note is the book where we start to see more and more how Vienna’s world is crashing into the guys' worlds, and man am I here for what that is going to mean.

Also, that ending? TOTALLY knew it! And I cannot WAIT to see where this goes…but I still want to know who/what Red Death is……….High Note is a fabulous continuation of the Cardinal Sins series, Last Word cannot get here fast enough!

High Note is the third book in the Cardinal Sins series and you have to read them in order. HN picks up where we left off in FC, with things not going to plan for Vienna. With Vi missing, the guys had to start making some decisions on their own. Like letting Cash out to help. Now in FC I was really unsure if Cash would be friend or foe and it took a while for me to come around to him. One thing for sure, he is absolutely obsessed with Vi. I like how nobody just trusted him right off the bat, even when they needed his help. It was a whole process and it felt real. Man does he like to push peoples buttons. I think his take charge attitude is good in certain aspects. Like questioning Vi on who she really can trust and who she can't. I also think his demeanor helps to bring Rick and Fletcher closer together. They have such a bond already and I love seeing it as it continues to grow. Fletcher, I adore him so much. I'm not sure what it is about him that just draws me in but he's my favorite. I think he reminds me of Freddie some from the Vandals series and y'all know I love me some Freddie. Fletcher has come a long way in this series for me though and I just want to eat him up. Rick is still Rick and bless him he struggles so hard when Vi isn't around. He loves her so much and just wants to protect her at all costs. They way all three men work together was a true treat to read.
So we also delve a little deeper into the network. We find out a few more interesting clues to the mystery she's trying to solve. Then, y'all, THEN...this ending was a huge bomb. I can't even tell you about it other than this.could.change.everything. EVERYTHING!!! This is going to be the longest two and a half months ever.

Thank you to Heather Long, Blake Blessing and Peachy Keen PR for an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

I am a sucker for this series! A vigilante FEMALE serial killer with her own harem of men who all have special skill sets, yes please! One of the best things about this series is that each and every character has their own chance to tell their story. We get into the minds of each person, Vienna, Rick, Fletcher, and now Cash.

Heather Long and Blake Blessing do such an amazing job writing as these characters. The growth of each of them is phenomenal and it just keeps going. In this book, we pick up where book two ended. Vienna is missing, now Rick and Fletcher have enlisted the ex-Fed Cash to help them track her down. He's just the right amount of cocky and I love how his mind works.

The storyline is getting soooo good, we're on the hunt with Vienna and her men to track down who exactly killed her father and the list of suspects just keeps growing. Each time I thought "oh he's involved" another player was introduced and I was back to square one. As with the other books, another top notch aspect of this book is the SMUT. Hot, hot, hot! There is enough steam and spice to keep the reader panting and we're even given the added bonus of group activities in this book.

I cannot recommend this series enough. Start it now, stay up all night, continue through tomorrow and just keep going. You might lose sleep, but hey if Fletcher can function on caffeine all the time, so can you 😜!

High Note is the third edition in the Cardinal Sinners series by Heather Long and Blake Blessing.

It was chalk full of action, steam and thrills. It pulls you further and further into the life of Vienna and her men. The steam and relationships will keep your toes curling. The lies and the secrets just keep piling up.

When you think you might have an idea of what is happening the story twists a little further. By the end you will be open mouthed shocked like what just happened.

I love Vienna and the relationship that she shares with Fletcher and Rick. Then throw in their new member to the steam and holy wow!! I love how each compliments her and gives the things she needs in that moment.

I cannot wait for the final book in this series! There will be more shocks more lies and more secrets revealed and by the end i believe that Vienna and her men will solve her goals in figuring out the red death and just what happened to her daddy.

If you are looking for shock and lies and deceipt the judge, jury and executioner of all the bad men plaguing the community and love like you can only hope to find then this is a series that i highly recommend that you try!! You will not be sorry that you gave Vienna and her story a chance! Get sucked in and watch as everything continues to twist and unfold!! Blake and Heather thank you both for ANOTHER amazing book! You both are truly AMAZING authors!

⚠️Check triggers⚠️

When Vienna doesn't come home from a job, Rick and Fletcher don't know how to find her. They decide to let Cash out of his cell to help them. As the guys are looking for her, Vienna is able to figure out who took her and comes up with a plan to get out. Once she's reunited with her guys, she has to decide if she can trust Cash with her secrets. As they spend time together, she realizes Cash fits in perfectly with her life, her mission, and he'll do anything to help her find her father's killer.

This series just gets better and better. I was so happy to dive back into this world to see what was going to happen next. I thought the twist on who took Vienna was good because of the parallels between their two lives. As much as I hate seeing the heroine separated from her men, I enjoyed it in this book because Rick, Fletcher, and Cash are hilarious together. They really develop a bond throughout this story, but their main priority will always be Vienna (love to see it).

We get more of Cash in this book and God do I love him. He's obsessed with Vienna, loves to push her buttons, and is slightly unhinged. I love how he built trust with her and fit into their lives. The perfect why choose member for me 🥰

The cliffhanger has me excited to start book 4!

Thank you to Heather, Blake, and Peachy Keen for the early copy in exchange for an honest review!

OMG I absolutely devoured this book and could not put it down! At the very beginning there is a quick "here’s what happened at the end of the last book" and if possible it made me love these authors even more. I seriously wish all authors would do this with series. I always want to support authors as their books drop but I’m one of those people who read so many books I struggle to remember details going into the next book if I have very long in between releases.

Vienna and her guys are absolute perfection as always and this book is even better than the last! I love how the characters balance each other and how each person adds their specific strength to the group. Rick is literally the sweetest & most thoughtful body guard ever, Fletcher kept me laughing and I adore his devotion and strong moral compass, and then we add in Cash who absolutely gets Vienna at every level and challenges her. There are lots of changes in the group dynamics in this book and I loved seeing the growth within their relationships. I also love learning how Viennas mind works especially with Cash challenging her. I am super intrigued to see what will happen with a specific new character that comes up in this book (that new blue eyed fox 😉). The end had me absolutely screaming and I need to know what happens next so I can’t wait for the final book!

‼️Check TW‼️

High Note picks up right where First Chorus’s cliffy left us hanging and continues the fast paced theme of the series. Rick and Fletcher have to trust Cash if they want to be able to help Vienna, but they’re far from happy about it. I loved reading how the group’s dynamic changed throughout the story and how it didn’t happen overnight. Cash is a lot different than Rick and Fletcher, he’s not afraid to challenge Vienna or come on too strong. He’s not afraid to make it known that he wants Vienna and will do whatever it takes for her to give him a chance and accepts that Rick and Fletcher are non negotiable. They’ve formed a bond since Vienna took them into her life and each give her something different. Rick is a natural nurturer, taking care of Fletcher and Vienna. And Fletcher has a vulnerability about him that Vienna is drawn to and wants to protect him from the world. Cash is more Vienna’s equal in the sense he can go toe to toe with her on training mats and knows the criminal world almost as well as she does. Vienna is still trying to find her father’s murderer and with the guys’ help she uncovers new clues which is where High Note’s cliffy leaves us. Is it true or just wishful thinking on Vienna’s part? I can’t wait to find out in Last Word!

Holy Moses this was good!

Ok so this story has always been intriguing. I love Vienna and how she seems to start off as this ice queen but as she adds to her harem her guys slowly open her up emotionally. I love the journey and how each guy brings something a little different to the equation.

Rick is my absolute fave of all the guys. I just love his protectiveness and care of Vienna. He's no pushover, can hold his own but takes his time to really see and think. He's just awesome! Fletcher constantly has me snorting with his internal dialogue. He's just really funny and brings some light to the dark story. And then there's Cash. I wasn't sure what to think of him but one thing is for sure he's definitely an Alpha hottie- sexy as sin and obsessed. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't into him by the end of this book.

Lots of secrets get unraveled in this book but lots of questions also spring up. So many mysteries....Oh and who else is super freaking curios about the accountant??? Will he get added to the harem or is he an enemy? I'm ridiculously intrigued by him! And then there was the Mafia dude from the club who claimed he was taken but she didn't know it. And he was manhandling another hot man. What was that?! Ok so obviously I'm salivating for this last book because my inner Nancy Drew needs to know lots of things!!!

It happened!!! It finally happened, the moment I have been waiting for! If you are reading this series you most likely know what I’m referring to and if not, pickup Kill Song so you can get on board with this suspenseful psychological thriller RH.

Vigilante Vienna and her band of sexy sidekicks are back with a vengeance. The action kicks off on page one and doesn’t slow down until the very last word. Some long awaited questions are answered, leading to even more mystery as Vienna continues on the hunt for her father’s killer.

While I love the engaging and suspenseful plot of this series, especially the true crime elements, my favorite moments are those with Vienna and her men. I love the dynamic of this group and synergy they have found with each other. When a new element is added to the mix, will things continue as they were or become even more explosive? You’ll have to read to find out!

Now, let’s talk cliffhanger because ladies, that ending was brutal. However, I may just forgive Heather and Blake for that ending since they gave me a long anticipated moment and made it steamy as hell! Fans of steamy RH romance with lots of mysterious and suspenseful plot, you need this series in your life!

Oh Vienna. She’s back. And seriously she just gets better with each book. This is the third book in the cardinal sins book and you do have to read each one or you’ll be pretty confused. Okay. We pretty much pick up where the cliff left us last book. With Vienna MIA, the guys really had to figure things out. Like the whole can we trust each other or are we bound to be enemies. I kind of adore her guys. They all have their quirks but you can’t help but love them. As a whole the gang really, to me, grows a lot throughout the book and there’s nothing better than character growth and maturity. Especially when it’s guys learning how to share (feelings) and tolerate each other 😂 I feel like we gained some more intel about the network. More pieces for the puzzle we’re trying to solve. Then. Thennnnnn! That ending. I can not believe it when I read it, so naturally I read it again. THIS BOOK BLEW ME AWAY. Didn’t see that one coming. I mean the ending was fire but dang I’m still shooketh. Blake and Heather did it again. This is definitely my favorite of the series. It’s so wild to me to think we only get one more Vienna book and she’s done. I’m really excited to get the last pieces and get it solved.

Obsessed. They are all obsessed with Vienna. And now she's missing. If it means coming together to bring her home, then that's what they will do. But is a rescue even needed?

Good but I think I expected a bit more. Honestly, I think this should have been a trilogy. Even with the twists and turns, there's enough filler that could have been removed to tighten the story up to create a super solid 3-book series. And luckily, the mystery was advanced with new clues even if we were still left in suspense. I appreciate the multiple POVs. For me, it adds so much to the story. Vienna is such a tough cookie to crack, we need the different viewpoints. Rick still holds my top spot, and I love Fletcher's humor but I love how Cash challenges her. I took a while to warm up to him but now I'm all in. Vienna has lived for so long under one set of rules. She needs Cash in her life. These three are slowly getting under her skin. Her character arc has been fascinating. She's a great MC but difficult to connect to. They are humanizing her. There's also one more intriguing character this time. Potential or enemy? I'm interested to see. Finally, I loved the cliffhanger. I look forward to seeing how it's all wrapped up.

Say what now?!
There’s so much to unpack in this penultimate book of the series!
There’s investigative journalists who may know to much and are blurring the lines of moral questioning techniques; there’s a potential ally with more alias and roles under his belt than Jason Bourne; the notion that there’s some corrupt element to The Network is building; and there’s more questions raised as to what Thackeray was actually working on at the time of his death 🤔 there’s is a lot being thrown at Vienna in this book and it’s coming from all directions 🙈 all occurring while she is still trying to maintain the mission taking out those who absolutely deserve it ☠️
Thankfully Rick and Fletcher have really become connected and are becoming more ingrained in all aspects of Viennas life including her jobs! There’s a whole new dynamic brought into the boys with Cash our resident ex-fed who, is entirely obsessed with the Judge, is abrasive and challenging. It certainly brings in some fiery scenes 🥵
Some shocking revelations lead to a total WTF moment right at the end there! 🤯🤯
I neeeeeed this final book now….sooo many questions!!!!

Thrilling, Steamy, & Action Packed! 5 Stars easily!

Like the two previous books in this series, High Note completely grabbed all of my attention & thoughts until the very last page and even afterwards. My mind is spinning with what that ending means and yet my thoughts are spiralling with the possibilities of what's to come. The ending is a big one! I cannot wait for the next book!
After First Chorus, my mind was in a similar place to now thinking of this book, and it was so much better than I could have imagined. I love Vienna and her guys so much and one of them I have no words for but WOW, honestly seeing more of him was amazing! There is SO MUCH STEAM... I was drooling, fanning myself off and daydreaming about having the guys for myself. I can't even pick a favourite guy, all so incredibly different but amazing in their own ways. Vienna is just girl crush material and is one of my most favourite heroines.
This book, this series, has been magically crafted with a perfect blend of dark, steam, swoony moments and hints of humour. It is fantastically written!
I love this book and and I'm unbelievably excited for what's next.

Heat 3.5/5

That cliffie!!! I had a tiny inkling after all the buildup that things weren't as they seemed to be at the beginning... man, the story these two have been weaving grows ever more complex and sinister, and I'm loving the ride of twists and turns I am on. Nothing is too extra or boring - there's always something exciting happening, whether it's in the bedroom or on a job scene.

The addition of Cash to the harem has been electrifying - I cannot get enough of this obsessed alphahole dom daddy. I LOVE that he has (at least during his POV chapters) not hidden how much he admires and wants Vienna since he came into the picture.

And Horatio?? Oh mama, PLEASE let him be added in the next book... PLEASE!

Fletcher is still so freaking funny, and I love his golden retriever energy. Our little Pincushion is so sweet and tortured, and it was amazing to see him and Cash finally connect over Fletcher's dark past. Rick's seriousness and desire to care for everyone over himself is too sweet and endearing. All these boys make my heart flutter and I know I'm gonna miss them so much when this series is over!

I'm just not convinced, three books in, that I like any of the characters. They were growing on me, but seem to have hit a plateau. We don't get to find out anything new about any of the men, and so many things are just glossed over.

ALSO, as a regular RH reader, I take some MAJOR beef with the fact that Vienna slept with Cash before even discussing it with Rick and Fletcher. (She also kissed Fletcher in book two without saying anything to Rick, and then also never told him about it.) Like yes, there was some passive awareness of it happening, but dang girl, have an open and honest conversation with these devoted men in your lives before you just start sleeping with new ones. That's harem 101. Everyone's gotta be on the same page!

I'm sad about the lack of m/m particularly since there's some opening for it, but even more annoying in this book was everyone's constant insistence that they don't like men, to the point where it started to feel like too much.

The plot picked up a bit in this installment...I am not feeling super compelled to read the fourth but at the same time I feel like I have to since I've made it this far.

Wow, wow, wow on so many levels!
High Note picks up right where First Chorus left us - Vienna’s being held by SJ still while Rick & Fletcher are still trying to decide how far they’ll trust Cash to help find her. Once Vienna’s free though, how does an arrogant and controlling guy like Cash, the former FBI agent, fit in with a serial killer and her guys who are basically full out accomplices at this point? The way each of them navigate the possible changes to their relationships are humorous and keep the dynamics changing pretty regularly. The questions about The Network, The Judge, and trust/loyalties just keep coming left and right and while we gain some answers, I think there’s still so much left to discover! I’m absolutely loving the way the relationships with Vienna & her guys have grown and involve a bond between the guys as much as a love for Vienna. However, that cliffhanger? Um, what???? I’m so relieved I’ve already ordered Last Word because I am dying to figure everything out!
