Oneness is hard to achieve. Let the kingdom unity of Scripture point the way.

Today’s world is torn apart. Tension is everywhere. Brother is pitted against brother, sister against sister, citizen against citizen, even Christian against Christian. It’s so hard to find agreement—much less real harmony—in our polarized society. Can there be a way forward?

Tony Evans knows how elusive unity can be. As a black man who’s also a leader in white evangelicalism, he understands how hard it can be to bring these worlds together. Yet he’s convinced that the gospel provides a way for Christians to find oneness despite the things that divide us. In the Word of God, we find a kingdom-based approach to matters of history, culture, the church, and social justice. In this book, you’ll

A Biblical Look at OnenessA Historical View of the Black ChurchA Kingdom Vision for Societal ImpactAlthough oneness is hard to achieve, the Christian must never stop striving. It’s a kingdom imperative. As Tony reminds us, “Glorifying God is our ultimate goal. Oneness exists to enable us to reach our goal.”

Dr. Tony Evans brings the 🔥 in this book about reconciliation as part of a larger kingdom ethic. He shares a lot about what he learned as a black man in PWI universities and seminaries. It was awesome to see his in depth study into the genealogy of King David & Jesus in chapter 5. His goal with this book is to show why we don’t have unity, how to get it, and what it actually looks like when it’s achieved. He shares about ministries in his church that meet all kinds of needs, which are incredible. For sure worth the read.

Powerful! Packed with Scripture!

This is a beautiful, powerful, and much-needed book. Full of Biblical truth. I learned a lot from it, especially about the history of the Black Church in America. This is a wonderful book, and Dr Evans is a wise man. I recommend it highly!
