Tit for tat. That’s the game we were playing, but he changed it. Tried to end it.
Didn’t work.
So now we’re here and I’m considering what to do because screw him, right? It should be that simple, and it would be if he wasn’t still inside my veins, still haunting my every thought. I can feel him, sense his heart pounding for life alongside mine. Maybe one last chance then. One more hope to find each other in this timeless world of his. We'll run and breathe and dance to his song. He'll hunt. I'll brace.
Hailing from the depths of the quiet British countryside, Charlotte likes nothing better than sinking into her characters dark and devious world's. Sometimes they're kinky, sometimes they're twisted, and sometimes they're a serious hold on tight situation, but her stories are always filled with romance and love in some form.
This is the second book in the trilogy and continues the story of Malachi and his newest obsession his little Alice. This had a slight edge for me over the first one and I think thats mostly because we got to see much deeper into Malachi’s troubled and damaged psyche. The man behind all the bullshit and even though he’s one messed up freaky very morally skewed individual I also felt equally endeared to him.
Aly or Alice is still stuck in this surreal world of decadence and depravity her mind fragmenting under dubious influences. But she is also herself in-hiding stuck behind a mask of civility that Malachi and his games have now splintered and fractured wide open. Can two broken individuals manage to piece themselves together into a parody of a whole that is Just uniquely them well they can sure try.
There were some surprises here as well and Aly is definitely more than she revealed previously and the lengths she will go to to protect her loved ones is equally as inspiring as it is fearsome. We also get fragments from Aly’s past that intrigued me and then the previous background finally catching up on her. I’m looking forward to experiencing the conclusion to all this fallout and where Malachi finally embraces all that they are and could be by finally accepting their truth. I voluntary reviewed a copy of A Taste Of Truth.
A Taste Of Truth continues this intriguing and gripping story from where A Dance With Devils left us.
Malachi and Alice are involved in one big game of hunt and chase. But who is the hunter and who is their prey? The twists and turns during this story have had my thoughts wandering in many different directions. It is without question that I feel Alice is perfect for Malachi. I am loving seeing different sides to this man and with those different sides my feelings towards him keep changing. He’s an enigma, and I cannot wait to see what he does next in the final instalment of this trilogy. Alice may want Malachi but does she need him? My opinions on this have also changed throughout the storyline – which I love!
I have loved watching Alice and Malachi together. Alice’s personality, determination and attitude have resulted in an incredible back and forth between the couple at times. They both have secrets, and in order to get answers they have to share a little of themselves which each other which I have thoroughly enjoyed witnessing.
This story needs your full and undivided attention as it is as complex as the principal man in this trilogy. That isn't difficult as Malachi and Alice lead this storyline brilliantly and ensure it is a compelling and addictive read. I actually enjoyed this second instalment more than the first, if that was even possible, which makes me so excited for the final part to this story. I cannot wait to discover how Alice and Malachi’s journey concludes.
WOW!!! What a story. Really excellent writing from Charlotte E. Hart. Here we have the twisted Malachi, in his element, but that isn't enough. Alice. HIS Alice. HIS Ally has started to capture his imagination and interest. He's just so messed up. I want to hate him but just can't as he really can't help himself. Ally. Now she's a whole new character here! Our little Alice has been so mucked up but in that mess her beauty shines forth and we discover her steely backbone! She is determined to save herself. And Malachi...whether he wants it or not! Gray once again plays a big part in the proceedings...as does Hannah! I find myself wondering if this is a seriously warped love affair or if it's... something else entirely...
This is the second book in the trilogy and continues the story of Malachi and Alice. This story has Malachi more freaky and intense dark. This story continues to answer questions from the first book in the astrology and makes you pulls you right into the storage to the very end this is an attense ride to through this second book.
A Taste Of Truth is the next instalment in Malachi and Ally’s weird and very dark story. The cliffhanger ending of A Dance With Devils left us with many questions about them both and I was really intrigued to see what would happen next. After reading the first trilogy, I was expecting more crazy things to happen at the castle. If you thought that Hannah and Gray’s story was a psychedelic experience then be prepared because this is an even more intense and mind-blowing read.
Malachi is all about games regardless of the consequences and we already know he was enjoying hunting down Ally after making her run from him. From the start of this book, I had no idea what was going on in Malachi’s mind even when he did explain a little to Ally. Their tit for tat was revealing but I felt we didn’t learn much more about either of them.
Malachi is an enigma, a complex character whose personality changes depending on what he has taken and who he is dealing with. Ally has to fight her survival instincts with her ever growing need and want for Malachi. This is a rollercoaster ride full of hallucinatory adventures, realisations of feelings and being made to accept the extent of their problems. Gray’s pills certainly do mess with their minds and change them and really affect their thoughts. They also make life bearable for Malachi but has he now become dependent on them?
I did find some parts a bit confusing especially as many of the scenes are linked to their reactions to the pills, however, I liked how the connection between them stays strong. Who is to blame for what happens is anyones guess. Could she be the one who is enough for him and give him a reason to exist. It is going to be interesting finale and hopefully they will be able to save each other because they certainly both need it now.
Malachi and his games is definitely one to mess with your mind, or is his Little Alice now messing with his? Or is it Gray and his pills, or is it simply just getting real now......
“Our music is not in the notes, but in the silence between, Alice.”
Complex, twisted, intriguing story, much like the enigma that is Malachi Jones. Mysterious and enchanting, we see just how heartbreakingly broken he is. I both love and hate him at times, he has to be one of the most frustrating but fascinatingly complex characters ever.
Tit for tat, it's like the game if you show me yours, I'll show you mine, but with their secrets (their bodies are a given you'd hope 😉) I loved how slowly they let the other in and opened up, even if begrudgingly to get information under intriguing circumstances. We see much more of Alice (Ally) and why she was living the way she was. She is fiercely protective of those she cares about and this definitely showed in A Taste of Truth.
It's hard to describe what the story is about without giving fundamentals away, but Alice and especially Malachi are broken and both searching for, running and chasing something.....whether it's each other time will tell, but their journey is wild, carnal, sensual, intense, dark, bloody, surreal and mesmerising.
My own mind is a mess, especially after that ending!! Charlotte E Hart writes in the most incredible, descriptive way that has your mind spinning in circles. I'm waiting with baited breath for the conclusion to Alice and Malachi's game!
This is book two in the lies and truths trilogy, and another gripping, page-turning book.
As dark and twisted as book one was, this one is right up there with it, Alice and Malachi keep playing their games, tit-for-tat, trying to get honesty and truths, the more he tries to take his own life, the more she is determined to save him.
Malachi is all about the games, getting her to run so he can catch her, and hurt her, but deep down love her, until she is taken from him. No one takes what is his, especially not her, but he doesn't know who or why or where they have taken her.
The past has finally caught up with Alice, can she survive?
So glad I didn’t have to wait to long for this second instalment.
Book 2 didn’t disappoint with more sex, truths and a little bit of bloodshed. Tit for tat.
I had one of those’I KNEW IT!!!’ Moments. But I am most amazed at is the fact that I have never disliked a leading man before, not like I do Malala. I really want someone give him the beating I feel he deserves, but then Malaki Jones would probably enjoy every minute of it. I don’t know where this story is going to go from here, but I can’t wait to find out.
Book 2 of the series what can I say? Hot hot hot. Amazing read Malachi and Alice are back let the mind games continue. This book goes a little than the first revealing some truths. Though there is also pain and sex scorching sex. The book is a little thought provoking at times and you may think to yourself I know what is going to happen, however you don't and that is what Charlotte does so well. She pulls you in then throws you such a curveball that you are left open mouthed. This was a wonderful read and it has definitely left me wanting more highly recommended.
Ah Malachi-how I do love Charlotte’s troubled males! Book 2 has Aly still fully engulfed in Malachi’s games of depravity, the hunt and the chase! Oh my! These two damaged souls are so deliciously good together that you keep turning the pages! We understand Aly more with her past story and Malachi is showing different sides of himself to her, which is good because as much as I love his messed up ways I could never put up with his madness! The fantasy and hotness meter is through the roof! Book 3 please!
Malachi and Aly continue to keep us guessing as more is revealed with these two. Malachi continues with his twisted, depraved games and his obsession with Aly, and Aly shows she's got some moxie left in her. The steamy, sometimes pain-filled scenes were surreal, and yet I loved delving deeper into these psychological bits and pieces of Malachi's world. I'm dying to see what happens next!
What in the world was this book trying to accomplish? Haphazard and all over the place. This just gave me a headache! I managed to get through book 1 but there is no way ill bother with book 3!
The 2nd book in the series and just as dark and twisted as book 1! Charlotte Hart knows how to keep her readers enthralled in her words.
No matter how dark Malachi gets, I can’t help but love his character. He is dark and handsome and seriously messed up but he is a brilliant character that just takes the book further and further.
Hold on tight as this crazy journey continues in the second book in this phenomenal series. The madness of the intoxicating underground world made the thrills and horrors even more magnifying. Malachi is so broken, that not even his strong connection with his Alice can prevent his dark thoughts and actions and cue a spiralling effect on all those involved. Outside elements come into play and that ending has me now so eager to read the next book.
The intoxicating second book in the saga between the mysterious AllyAlice) and the beautifully damaged, Malachi. These two characters had me spinning with emotions, fears, and chills with every chapter. I did love that we are privy to some unveiled secrets from both characters’ pasts. All the more interesting as we prepare for the third book soon. Can’t wait!
This story reminds me of the love affair between The Joker and Harley Quinn. Malachi welcomes death and likes to manipulate people. He has suffered abuse from both his father and wife and it has made him into a man with psychotic tendencies. And while indulging in these tendencies he finds a play thang, Alice to abuse and devour. But in the mist of all of the chaos he begins to have feelings for Alice. Unfortunately for him she is snatched away from him. And you know the Joker is lost without Harley Quinn. This was truly a great read. It shows you how solace can be found in different ways. And all it takes is a monkey wrench to make you rethink about the path you have chosen to walk on. I cant wait to see what Malachi would do to retrieve what has been taken from him. But until book 3....... Happy Reading!!!
I love this writer and she is my go to when I need something dark. This one was a little confusing and at times hard to follow when the characters were taking Grays inventions. It was also a little irritating at times and I wanted the drug haze to end BUT it’s still a good read.

Another amazing twisted read from Charlotte E Hart. This book is part 2 and follows Malachi and his new toy Alice in his distorted world. What a twisted, fascinating story. Alice is his saviour but all is not as it seems. Can’t wait for part 3
