When a man unexpectedly finds a naked woman in his bed, he does the only thing a man would do.
He jumps into bed with her.
I figured out pretty quickly the woman was my brother’s infuriatingly sexy assistant. Too bad she’s not my type. She’s too mouthy, too bold, too gorgeous. Yet I can’t get enough of her.
Now I have to see her every day at the office, and it’s absolute torture. I’d rather keep her by my side. In my bed…
But am I willing to jeopardize my reputation just for her?
This was a quick spicy read. At least half smut with little plot but I’m certainly not complaining.
Grant is an asshole and not the cinnamon roll variety. But apparently his rudeness is a big turn on for Alyssa.
So when his brother Finn, her boss, asks her to schedule an escort for Grant that night she decides to skip the escort and go in her stead.
Grant might be a dick but Alyssa can hold her own. She’s a certified ball buster and he must carry her same affliction because he’s into it.
Which is crazy because he has a type and it’s everything she’s not. So why can’t he get enough of her?
For such a short story, their chemistry wasn’t bad. It was a lot of sex but it was varied and hot af. Plus I’m intrigued by the Lancaster’s, I’ve been foaming at the mouth for The Reluctant Bride so this felt like a lovely amuse bouche before we can get to Charlotte and Perry.
The "Hero" in this book? *chef's kiss* an absolute trash can. The way he talks about women, especially in page one? 🥰🥰 makes me wanna throw up 🥰🥰 The fact that his (crappy) excuse is "I'm a Lancaster. They love us or hate that they aren't us"... we hate you bro 👉😋👈 you're disgusting bro 🥰
loved grant and alyssa they were both hot asf like okayyyy. just a quick spicy read in monica's little universe. <33 i do wish it was longer and a full length book because in my opinion they deserve it!!
This one starts with a bang and ends with a bang. Grant is sort of a pig at first, but Alyssa seems to like it so power to her. This is essentially an erotic quickie set in the Lancaster world. I met Grant in Reluctant Bride and only saw a smidge of him. It was interesting seeing this side of him I suppose. If you want something hot with a hero who is pretty jerky, then you’ll enjoy this 😂
It’s FREE on the authors website I’m guessing. Unless these are no longer available.
﹌﹌﹌ 2.5 stars have been rounded to 3. They deserved that, thus in my opinion, it ought to have lasted longer. Although I did not like the beginning, I thought the end was really good. I admired the way Alyssa would push and Grant would counter because it was a game they were playing. This book was passable to read, but it had potential to be better.
Ok so first off, let me start with I read a lot of reviews first and so many of them were bad, but I really enjoyed the blurb so I figured why not and give it a try. And I really enjoyed this novella!!
Sure, Grants character is a little bit on the egotistical side but he isn’t up for distractions yet still likes to blow off steam. Alyssa saw an opportunity and figured why the hell not.
This is not your typical romance. It’s your typical “never even thought of you like that before” until now romance. Then, once they get a taste of each other - their entire world changes. Also it’s more like steamy, lustful sex instead of actual romance which is why I knocked a star. I didn’t mind how they acted towards another. Not every story is the flower and chocolates kind.
Together Grant and Alyssa can be a powerhouse. He’s on top of his game and she’s on her way. They have insane chemistry and Grant literally changed his ways to “make this work.”
This was a steamy, sexy read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Maybe one day, the author will make it into a full on novel. That, I’d love to see
*Overall 4/5 *Heat? 4/5 *First person POV (Grant and Alyssa) *Quick read (1hr ish) *HEA? Yes, more like HFN
really short novella that i kinda wish i didn't read spice wasn't that great and i couldn't get over how much of a misogynistic a**hole the mmc was still love everything else that monica murphy writes though i'm only taking this as a win because it adds to my reading goal lol
”First, I’m going to spread you out and eat that needy pnssy of yours. And every single day after this, when I sit here and take calls or have meetings or even when I’m in here by myself, I’m going to remember this moment. When I had your bare ass right here. With my mouth on your cnnt, my tongue plunging inside of you.”
After another long day at work, Grant walks into his bedroom to find a woman in his bed. Which really isn’t all that much of a surprise for him, since his brother and best friend leaves women in his bed all the time. But what his brother has never done is left his assistant waiting for his brother. But it must be a fever dream, since Alyssa would never climb into Grant’s bed. They hate each other! In the light of the morning sun, they are both smacked with reality. But the reality they thought they had comes into question when Grant isn’t as cold and calculating. He’s apologetic, giving, but still calculating. Except now he’s calculating all the ways he can keep Alyssa all to himself. He knows she deserves better, but he just can’t let him go. And the truth of it is, she doesn’t want him to. The really hot scenes were mostly focused on their own inner thoughts. Focusing on what they should do about the situation. Just enjoy the big O! This is connected to Crew Lancaster in A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime and Charlotte Lancaster in the Arranged Marriage series.

6/10 Dirty Birdy 6/10 The CEO Type 7/10 Workplace Romance
It felt like a whole novel! So short, but so well written! 👏 It's the first book I read from this author but surely it's not the last. 😌 This was so spicy! 🥵 I couldn't stand still while reading it and that says a lot. 😳 Everything happened so naturally despite the short number of pages... I think it's what I liked the most about it. 😅 Grant and Alyssa have attitude! And I love that. 😍 They both know what they want, they are both mature enough not to ruin things because of stupid s**ts. 🙏 I can really see something like that happen in real life. 😄 One thing I couldn't understand... There were three brothers and yet only two of them are characters. What's the significance of the third one? 🤨 Do I have to read another book of Monica's in order to get a clearer vision on that? 🤔 If so, I don't mind. 😇
I’ve a terrible habit now of having a novella started in my phone when I can’t have my kindle being used. But alas not complaining cause it’s also been great for me to read “more”. This was a quick sexy bit , niches well into bully romance, super spicy started and ended with a bang pun intended. Might need to peek more of this author as well cause rather enjoyed her writing style, while a quick and short novella you definitely get her sense of character growth and style down.
The Wrong Brother is a quick and spicy read. I read A Million Kisses In A Lifetime prior to reading this book and I was curious how Grant and Alyssa’s relationship began. Grant acts like a jerk (no surprise there since he’s a Lancaster) towards Alyssa however, she’s no wallflower and she gives it right back to him. I enjoyed reading about them.
DETESTABLES AMBOS.
This book was such a fast-paced, spicy, and interesting read. I read it in just 40 minutes! It’s a complete rollercoaster of red flags, but if red happens to be your favorite color, you’re going to love every second of it...
Anyway, I can’t wait to dive into more of her books!
