Endless Silent Scream is the sixth instalment in the excellent Detective James “Jimmy” Bliss series, set in Peterborough, and although I was a little concerned as to whether Mr Forder could surpass the last book my fretting was completely unnecessary as this was the most clever and twisty story to date. Bliss is the one that makes these books amazing as he is exactly the right balance of hard and soft making him both endearing to the reader but reliable in terms of his police career. He also has a naughty sense of humour which contrasts with the bleak crimes and infuses the narrative giving us some light relief by breaking up the dark moments. Although Bliss is the protagonist and hero his team are also engaging and well developed and of course many of the procedural aspects of crime resolution could not happen without the team's collective actions.

The writing is straightforward with limited unnecessary verbiage and this allows the pace to rise from steady to breakneck as we progress grabbing your attention hook, line and sinker and not letting it wander at any point. It’s a highly entertaining and intricately plotted police procedural and not a word is wasted as the story is taut and tight with limited to zero filler included. If you enjoy detail-orientated crime thrillers/police procedurals then this is a must-read book and series. It isn’t necessary to have read any of the preceding instalments to appreciate this one, but given how captivating each is I guarantee you’ll not want to miss the others either. A real addictive page-turner. I look forward to being reintroduced to Jimmy and colleagues in the not too distant future. A highly recommended five stars. Many thanks to BOTBS for an ARC.

Well that’s me up-to-date with DI Jimmy Bliss. The book opens with Bliss on the roof of a building in the pouring rain trying to prevent a young girl from jumping. He manages to get her to safety but she doesn’t say much although it is clear she is scared out of her wits. The girl, a minor, gives her name as Molly. She is a drug mule and escaped the drug den just moments before it was raided by the police. She had slashed at the dealer with a knife when he and a mate tried to force her to have sex with both of them at once. Then she ran and ended up on the roof. Unfortunately the dealer also escaped the police raid. He is known to be brutal and vindictive and will want to teach Molly a very harsh lesson.

Also unfortunately, the drug distributor (the big boss) will also be concerned as Molly knows enough to make life difficult for him. So he sends an enforcer to track down and silence both the dealer and the girl. So the police are trying to protect the girl and bring down the drug ring but the criminals seem to be one step ahead and snatch the girl from the supposedly safe emergency foster placement. Bliss is beside himself with worry as he promised to protect the girl. And this is all taking his mind off another case where a body has been found after 15 years. This case has the potential to be a media nightmare and has implications for high ranking police officers.

It was suspenseful but I didn’t think it was as suspenseful as it could have been. What I really liked in this book was the heartwarming bond that developed between Bliss and Molly. It is the most ‘human’ we have seen Bliss. Long may it continue. I’m also wondering if we’ll see Molly in a future book, I hope so as she was a great character.

I like to be part of Bliss & co. as my cozy audiobook listenings in the night. So far they've all been between 3-4 stars, nothing overly mind-blowing at all, but interesting enough, and most important it's character driven, which apparently is something I often prefer. The reason I'm saying it like this is; I've found myself struggling with pinpointing why I feel some stories to be a 4* for me, as when I'm thinking more about the story itself it's not that overwhelming, and I realize then it's the way I lose myself in the daily life, interactions, struggles, joys, and sorrows of the characters, and that's reason enough.

That being said, I think I have gotten my cozy British police procedural crime needs fulfilled for some time 😅 but I'll be back for more.

The worst thing about these series; when they get you good, and you love the characters, it's damn hard, when there's no more books in the series. It's like missing a friend, sometimes losing a friend.

An eerie cover, a chilling first scene, a helpless victim, and a cocky, (and yes, I used the word) sympathetic cop made this one of the most rocking first scene.

I have to be honest, I took up this book because of the cover. The girl called to me, wanting me to read her story. My first book by the author Tony J Forder, though this was part of a series, the police procedural was crazy detailed with a team which worked hard even when an incident in the past shadowed them.

Detective Bliss was brilliant. His one liners kept me going. There was a strong core of determination underneath the reckless glint that he carried, along with a chip on his shoulder. The girl Molly, as seen in the cover, touched his heart too along with a frozen body which made his brain cells tick.

Changes occurred in the department, which added to the dynamics of the team. The plot lines were taut and well strategized, the author knew how to keep the prose thrilling. The only niggle I had was that though this was a new story, it was an old team, so most times, I felt I was standing on the outskirts looking in. I felt alienated, so for me, it wasn’t a standalone.

The lines of investigation and the reveal of the killer were entertaining. The story kept me hopping right through. But it was Bliss to whom my eyes drifted to. He had a presence in the book. He made the story come alive. Dynamic, I would say.

Overall, it was a fun police procedural, thanks to Bliss and his author Tony Forder

The story starts off with Bliss stopping a young girl from jumping off a building. For me, Bliss really steps up to the mark, his gentle banter, getting her to talk and open up to him. I’ve always liked Bliss has a character but even more so after this book.

Molly is a great character who not only pulls on Bliss’s heart strings but the readers also. In fact, this is the main appeal for me in this book. The relationship between Bliss and Molly. You can see Molly getting further and further under Bliss’s skin whilst he is trying his best not to allow himself to care to much for this young girl who has been through a lot in her young life. There is a definite bond between the pair that grows as the story goes on. It makes for quite an emotional read at the end.

There is a fair amount of tension as Molly is under constant threat. This does somewhat blind side Bliss as he focuses on her safety. The working relationship between Bliss and Chandler yet again shines through and adds to this already compulsive crime thriller.

Endless Silent Scream allows us to get inside the main character’s head and show a different side to him. There is plenty going on and the author shows his strength with his characterisation. There is a certain vulnerability about Bliss that appeals to me, making me want more. This is a crime series that has been set at a high standard of which the author keeps delivering every time. Be warned, they are very addictive reads.

My thanks to the author for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

“He saved her once, can he do it again”
DI Bliss is back!!! This time he begins by saving a young girl who is thinking of throwing herself off a building. He is there shearly by chance, having been nearest at the time of the call. She has a knife and wounds and is later linked to a drug supplier. The department has had a bit of a shake up and there is a new DCI. There is also a body that isn’t so much a cold case as a “freezer” one, having possibly been in the ground between ten and fifteen years. When the young girl is taken by the supplier and the body possibly of a missing journalist with links to on high, Jimmy and his team have their work cut out and more. Oh I love Bliss and Tony’s wonderful style of writing. Bliss instantly comes across as a likeable character. Someone you would want possibly as an Uncle whom you know would be firm but fair with a wicked sense of humour and caring beyond belief. A plot (or three) that makes me admire Tony for his very sharp mind and being able to plan such intricate, clever but easy to follow storylines. I laughed, I (almost) cried. I loved it. Can't wait for the next Blissful read.

I have to say right from the outset that this for me is the author’s best book to date – it was superbly written and I loved the clever and twisty story he has written.

The characters are excellent, so well developed – Bliss is a brilliant character, I really liked reading about him before, but this book showed a different side to him for me and I have found myself liking him even more.

I loved the pace of the book too, it was definitely one that had me turning the pages and I read the book in an afternoon, and evening as I needed to know how it would all end.

This is the sixth book in the DI Bliss series and for me the books have just gone from strength to strength and I can’t wait to see what he releases next!

No hesitation at all in giving this one 5 stars – I loved every page – very highly recommended!!

Another great Bliss novel from Tony Forder. This is the sixth in the series and the characters and storylines never fail to entertain. The character of Molly, and Bliss's reaction to her, was particularly interesting. Recommended reading.

What a wonderful tangled net Forder has woven for Bliss to wade through. A story that brings back past cases and dumps them well and truly in the present adding to ever-increasing dilemmas and problems.

Bliss takes a call about a call about an incident, he finds Molly, a young girl on the roof contemplating jumping. Now if you are like me and have read all of the Bliss books to date then you know that there is more to Bliss than meets the eye. His way of approaching Molly is way off the page when it comes to doing things by the book, in fact, his approach isn’t on the same shelf as said book, or even in the same library come to that matter! But his approach is just what is needed.

While Molly’s case is being dealt with there is another case that is unearthed when a body is discovered. This body leads Bliss and his team down a route that has roots in the past. A time Bliss would rather forget about, but it appears that 2005 has other ideas.

For me, this book is another brilliant read in a series that I adore. Bliss is a fabulous character who seems to thrive on stress, heavy workloads, problematic cases and conundrums. The cases of Molly and also the newly discovered body provide more than just a headache, one of them provides new ways of dealing with procedures and protocols.

After being left reeling from the events in the last book, I felt that this also had a more sensitive side towards Bliss as well as his team. The events are briefly mentioned as are relevant other details from past books so if you have missed anything you will be brought up to date. I for one am glad that the particular was mentioned as it proves what a close team Bliss is part of and how far they have come over the series so far.

I do like how the author manages to inject little mischievous snippets of humour into this story, they are tough stories but the humour is appropriate and it’s nice to see the banter between various characters. It adds to their personalities. Another thing that I found was how attached I became to one of the characters and I was delighted to see a mention at the end of the book about her making an appearance in the future.

This is a police procedural that is the 6th book in the series, there are ongoing story-lines and mentions of things from the past so it is always better to read in order, but I suppose you could read each one as a stand-alone, although why would you!!!!!

If you are a fan of police procedural then you really should read Forder’s DI Bliss series, they are brilliant books that have a lot of depth to them., The cases are intense and well thought through. They are the sort of stories that if I was to try and explain the events I would make them sound confusing, but they are actually very easy to keep up to speed with and this is down t0 the writing style of the author. Endless Silent Scream is yet another book by this author that I would definitely recommend.

Turns out I have a bit of catching up to do in the DI Bliss series, that being said, i don’t feel like I’ve jumped into a series with this book. No once did I struggle with the characters or the background info, so, if like me you’re just picking this book up don’t worry! Enjoy and then start from the beginning of the series!

The first thing that grabbed me with this book was the cover, I mean just look at it! And it starts with a whammy, roof top, girl  on the edge (and in the rain *gulp*) and in enters DI Bliss and what I can only describe as a dry sense of humor, which sometimes had me thinking that certain situation were going to end badly for him. I love his take on situations and how he handles them, a brilliant character and totally relatable.

Endless Silent Scream is fast paced and definitely has you turning those pages way into the night. Its gripping, has you on the edge of your seat and leaves you wanting more!

A solid 4 golden apples from me…. if you need me I’ll be delving into the start of the series.

I did not want this book to end!! Tried to make each chapter read take as long as possible but it had to be finished tonight or I would not be able to sleep. Thank you Tony for the chance to read this early it is appreciated although I know I will be reading it again soon. You have us a view of a different side of Bliss and it was a view I really enjoyed. The way you made all the cases run separately but together was really well done and the differences between the cases must have made it difficult. Can't wait to see what Peterborough brings for Bliss next.

When DI Bliss stops a young girl from jumping off a hotel roof, little does he realise that she will end up getting under his skin. Molly is obviously a minor but will not give any information to help keep her off the streets. When she is kidnapped by a local drug dealer, Bliss knows he has to try and save this girl again, even though it’s not his case.

When some bones are discovered and Bliss and Chandler go to the site, they discover the Bone Doctor, Emily is back. Is there still a spark between Bliss and Emily, or does Bliss have feelings for the journalist Sandra Bannister?

Has Bishop coped with the death of Mia when they were working a case together, or have the actions of a killer affected Bishop in how he thinks and works?

I have enjoyed having Bliss and the team together again. The author writes these storylines well, you think you know where the plot is going when actually you are wrong - again! The relationship Bliss has with Molly has been written in an emotional way, it brought a tear to my eye. Molly has a wonderful character, she comes across as fearless, brash and not caring about anything but you can sense her vulnerability in the way the author has written her character. It really is wonderfully written. This is one of those books that I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
I would highly recommend this book and the series.

I have been a fan of Tony's work for a fair while now and I have a particular soft spot for the series featuring Detective Inspector Jimmy Bliss. Although I haven't managed to catch up with all of Tony's previous books, I am slowly getting through them, whilst at the same time keeping pace with his new releases. I read the synopsis for 'Endless Silent Scream' and I just knew that I was in for a real treat. I wasn't wrong either because 'Endless Silent Scream' really is an amazing book, which I thoroughly enjoyed but more about that in a bit.
What can I say about Detective Inspector Jimmy Bliss? I can say with absolute certainty that he has to be one of my favourite lead male detectives of all time. I think that part of the reason is that he reminds me of my late father. Bliss is a bit of a grumpy git at times and he has been known to bend the rules somewhat. I think that Bliss is a bit of a rebel too. Bliss really does care and he has a heart of gold. Bliss tries to protect his team and quite often his protectiveness can be quite stifling, which in turn affects the potential professional development of the different team members. A previous case saw the sad death of one of the Detective Sergeants in his team and Bliss blames himself. Bliss is undergoing psychological therapy and he often becomes quite angry at the therapist, which I think is his natural reaction to the fact that the therapist is pretty spot on with what she says and he doesn't like the fact that she can read him like a book. As a detective, Bliss is first rate and he always gets the job done one way or another.
It didn't take me long at all to get into this book. In fact the synopsis grabbed my attention straightaway and as soon as I began to read the book itself that was it. I knew that I wouldn't be able to put the book down at all. I must be psychic or psychopathic because that is exactly what happened. The book developed a hold over me from the moment I first picked the book up until the moment I read the last word on the last page. It was a hold that I was not willing to break. The book wasn't exactly glued to my hand but it might as well have been because it travelled everywhere with me. I couldn't bear to be parted from the book for just a single second as I feared missing out on some vital clue or nugget of gossip. I devoured the book over the course of a day, which is fantastic for me. Usually I have the attention span of a gnat and I am easily distracted but not in this case. I reached the end of the book quicker than I had wanted to and I was a bit sad because it meant that I had to say a temporary goodbye to my hero DI Bliss!
'Endless Silent Scream' is brilliantly written but then I think that to be true of all of Tony's books. The author certainly knows how to start a story with a bang featuring a memorable opening scene that will stay fresh in my mind for a long time to come. If that opening scene doesn't grab your attention then I don't know what will. The author has one of those writing styles that immediately draws you into the story and makes you feel as though you are part of the story. In fact I felt as though I was another member of Bliss' team and I tried to interact with the different characters as if they could hear me. I know, I know that this is a work of fiction and that it isn't real but I find that if I enjoy a book to the extent that I enjoyed 'Endless Silent Scream', I tend to 'live' the story as if it were real. Tony has created some fantastic characters, given them memorable storylines and he introduces twists and turns with ease. On more than one occasion I felt, as though I had figured out what was going to happen, only for Tony to turn the story on its head, which sent me down another path entirely.
In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'Endless Silent Scream'. This book was to be up there on my top 10 books of 2020 list. I wholeheartedly recommend this author and his books to other readers. I will definitely be reading more of Tony's work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

This is the sixth exciting instalment in the DI Jimmy Bliss series of stories. Fans of this series will already know what a thrilling time they are heading for, and to anyone who is unfamiliar with these books I would certainly recommend starting at book one. There is so much history to know about the detective and his team working in the Major Crimes unit in Peterborough, (although each book works well on its own as the past events are explained to a certain extent), particularly since this story harks back to much of the terrible events of 2005 that saw Bliss banished from Peterborough to London for many years. The story opens with the regular team of Bliss, DS Chandler, DS Bishop and DC Ansari together with a couple of DCs tackling three cases: the theft from a lorry at a truck stop, the carjacking of high-end vehicles and the suspicious death of a street dweller well known to them. They are also awaiting a new DCI as DCI Edwards has made the move sideways to cover CID and they are not disappointed when they discover who will be in charge. The loss of one of their number recently has hit them all hard and they need some strong leadership. Two cases are quickly put to bed as Bliss unwittingly becomes involved in talking down a would be suicide from a hotel roof. She's a teenage girl dressed only in a nightie and clutching a knife, and for some reason Bliss feels an instant connection with the girl who it transpires is a county lines drugs mule now in fear for her life. As investigations deepen into the gang she worked for, Bliss has to try to keep her safe from retribution and being silenced whilst also concentrating on another gruesome case. The remains of a freelance journalist are unearthed at a local Bronze Age site, and another old face makes a reappearance in Bliss' life. Shockingly it looks like 2005 has been hiding another murder and there may even have been police involvement. With their work cut out to round up a gang of ruthless drug dealers and catch a killer, Bliss and the team cannot afford to let their guard slip for one moment if they are to keep everyone safe in a fast paced and very cleverly written police procedural that is so much more besides. The characters interact beautifully with each other, the detectives displaying banter, bravery and loyalty in equal measures. There's even room for a little humour, and just when I was wondering what had become of one of the unfinished storylines, there was a wonderful bit of irony towards the end that had me chuckling out loud. Excellent and highly recommended. 5*

This series just gets better and better!

“Bloody, bruised, battered and torn, the frail young girl with the thinnest arms Bliss had ever seen stood on a ledge six inches above the drainage gulley that ran around the edge of the hotel roof.”

With these opening words, I dived straight into this quite terrifying novel which starts as DI Jimmy Bliss talks Molly, a fifteen-year-old girl desperately trying to find the courage to jump off a building, from carrying out her threat. When he discovers the reason for her desperate bid to end her life, he and his team based at Thorpe Wood police station know they’re going to be racing against time to keep her safe from the drug dealer she’d fled.

A body discovered by archaeologists while working on a dig at Fengate turns out to be that of a journalist who disappeared in 2005.

Both cases need urgent attention and Jimmy Bliss must ensure that his team, can find the drug dealer and work out who could possibly have wanted the journalist dead.

There are many police procedural series being published. However, there is only one DI Jimmy Bliss and the team who would give up their lives for him to get those responsible for committing the crimes and that’s what sets this series apart and way above others. Jimmy Bliss is a man who is dedicated to the job but still has time to crack jokes with DS Penny Chandler while on stake outs.

One of the most powerful messages throughout this book is the terrible effect the death of a colleague can have on the team morale and mental state of those “lucky” enough to survive.

Tony J Forder you’ve given us another master class in writing. The way you describe what’s going on makes the reader feel as though they’re walking the path with the team as they go about their day. I’ve never been to Peterborough or near the area where these books are based, but again, the descriptions are so real, I feel as though I could find my way around the area.

Bravo! Tony, a truly brilliant read.

Another outstanding book by Tony Forder. A powerful opening chapter were DI Bliss finds himself being in the right place at the right time to save a young girl from throwing herself off a building. Molly, who's life he saved would NOT agree. Her bruised and abused fragile body and life as a drug trafficker could take no more. She resented Bliss immensely for his interference. It becomes clear that Mollys life is in danger and the drug dealers want her back before she talks. Bliss sees something in this young girl, a spark of life, of hope maybe, and his heart goes out to her....he needs to protect her, and fast. But with another major case opening up when the remains of a missing journalist from fifteen years ago are found, will he have time to juggle both cases? The dead strangled body of the journalist, opens up investigations from a past case. Is the reputation of two senior retired officers at risk? Fortunately for Bliss this also brings back an old flame The Bone Lady...is there still a spark left between them...or are his feelings for Sandra Bannister more than what he first thought? We really do see the caring and gentle side of Bliss coming through in this book...and so does his long time friend and colleague DS Penny Chandler. It would be great to see him have a little fun and romance in his life. Don't get me wrong, he is still as ruthless, strong and determined as ever when it comes to justice. Nothing has ever got in his way...emotions are normally kept under wraps.
This is storytelling at its best. Well written, always an intriguing plot, plenty of grit, well paced with a good amount of action a dash of humour and a great mixture of characters you will love, or love to hate. Can't wait to read book seven. A highly recommended book and series.

One of the things I love most about being a blogger is discovering new books and authors that possibly I wouldn’t find just visiting a bookshop, this book is a good example. “Endless Silent Scream”, this is the sixth book of the DI Bliss series and I feel that I missed a really good series!
This had been an interesting and deep book, with an insight of a police investigation and some good hearted detectives; because even if we know that some detectives are cold and without any interest on the case this will not be the book; DI Bliss is a good person, with a special sense of humour but protective with his friends and colleagues.
Everything will start when DI Bliss saves a young women that is trying to commit suicide but there’s much more behind the story, we could see from the beginning that she is brave and is ready to fight for her life if someone is on her side. But this will not be the only case of the book, DI Bliss has a long story of cases in his back, but there’s one that has hunted him for a long time, this will be the moment of closure and discoveries. But, don’t worry, the story is well detailed and explained and you’ll not miss any connection from the past.
I really liked that Jimmy didn’t pretend to be the best in the case or the office, he is what he is, but tries to do the best in his work without endangering the people around him, neither the victims or possible killers. He wants to solve the case and put the culprits in prison, trying to be the less dangerous possible; I really respected him for that, the cases are important, but the truth and people related to the case are the priority.
If you are looking for a new series to love, Endless Silent Scream is the new series you have to start, I am sure you’ll love it!

Endless Silent Scream by Tony J. Forder
D.I. Bliss #6

The intense opening scene grabbed my attention and didn’t let go till the end of the book, if then. I had to find out what out what would happen to Molly. Why? Well, a rooftop rescue from potential suicide was just the beginning for Molly and it was a roller coaster ride of live or die for her from beginning to end!

Coming into a series on book six was not a mistake – nope – I had no trouble at all following this story! I might have wondered about some of the cases and people mentioned from previous books but this police procedural was complete in and of itself with more than one case solved by Bliss’s team before the end of the book.

What I liked:
* Molly: smart, street savvy, vulnerable and yet hopeful. I would love to see how she turns out in the future
* Bliss: good man, great leader, loner but not lonely – or so he says. He gets the job done when others might give up. A bit unorthodox in his methods. Do hope he rethinks his choices about staying alone.
* The team: all seemed to be good people, focused on their job and caring about one another.
* The way the cases were solved - police procedural aspects
* The twists and turns in solving the murder of a body that had been buried for awhile.
* The dialogue between Chandler and Bliss – do wonder if there is more than friendship in the making there

What I did not like:
* Realizing just how little value is put on life by some elements of society

Thank you to the author who gifted me an ARC of this book through BOTBS Publicity ~ This is my honest review.

Reading the first sentence of Endless Silent Scream by Tony J Forder (Book 6 of the DI Bliss series) was enough to reel me in and I couldn’t wait to read further. Loved all the books in the series but this one was my favourite. I had to keep closing the book to just think about what was happening and absorb it. The book just got its hooks into me. There is grittiness, determination, compassion, and also humour, throughout and I love the way Bliss is able to express his feelings for those who have had a bad start in life. He is really affected by Molly, the girl whose life he saves at the beginning of the book, and he glimpses something in her that makes him want to save and protect her. Bliss is such a lovable character. Plenty going on throughout the story and my interest remained high the whole way through. Loved it

D.I.Bliss , Endless Silent Scream.
Finish his coffee and muffin or save a girl from jumping off a roof, in the rain? The opening of this the latest in the D.I.Bliss, or Jimmy as we know him gives no clue as where such an innocent act will take him. He has to save the girl more than once and as a skeleton is discovered at a building site close to a historic dig, so the bone women is back, past lover of Jimmy Bliss, along with a possible past crime that could open old wounds for the police in Peterborough.
Fast paced with several threads running at the same time Bliss has to act quickly and be right or people will die.
As has become expected of Tony J. Forder the writing is brilliant and the attention to detail is second to none.

I was so happy to hear that DI Bliss was going to have another story. I’ve read each of his stories and loved them. As it’s the sixth I had high expectations. I had faith in the author to keep the pace going and for Bliss to keep my attention. I needn’t have worried as this was an excellent read.

From start to finish I was glued to the story. Jimmy Bliss is a brilliant character. He’s a great detective and thinks a lot of his team. I loved reading about some characters we met in the previous books.

This is another fantastic read by this author. I’m so hoping we get lots more stories of Bliss. This is a must read that I highly recommend.

Endless Silent Scream is an addictive, fast-paced novel that had me hooked from beginning to end. My first read by Tony J. Forder, and I doubt it will be my last. Though this is part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone.

I love Detective Bliss. He is a fantastic main character who is determined despite his flaws. I thought his dialogue was fantastic and we were really able to get to know him.

Fast-paced and addicting, I felt Tony J. Forder really understands how to keep us on the edge of our seat.

Great police procedural that I highly recommend!!

Another side to DI Bliss emerges during this case, who knew he could become so protective of a scared young girl. Yet another brilliantly written roller coaster of a case. Working with a new boss and Social Workers determined to do everything by the book Bliss and Penny have to try to keep a vulnerable young girl safe and put the bad guys where they belong. Every one of the books in this series is a page turner and will not allow you to put it down.

Tony J. Forder is a wonderful story teller who just gets better and better. This is the 6th in Tony's DI Bliss series but you can jump in here without Getting lost. Bliss and Chandler are well constructed characters who have depth and in this book, you see another side of Bliss. From the start, Endless Silent Scream is a definite page turner and you won't be disappointed.

Good Read

Another great story in the life of DI Bliss and his team.

The book shows the team still coming to terms with the death of their colleague, Mia Short during their last case, and now the arrival of a new DCI into the mix.

When he prevents a young teenager from taking her life it starts a chain of events that ends with cases that initially appear separate, end up being linked and take Bliss and his team back to 2005 the year Bliss uncovered corruption within the Peterborough Police Force. Dreading what else may be uncovered he reaches out to two old bosses who were also damaged by the events of 2005. One a respected superior and one he could barely tolerate but both have to be investigated. Add to this mix a very determined hit man out to silence the young girl and anyone who gets in his way and you have an exciting page turner that keeps you on your toes.

My only complaint (more like a moan really) is the ending. Just when we think Bliss is ready to accept some well deserved love into his life, he has the choice of 2 lovely ladies, and finally move on from his wife's murder all those years ago. A flare up of his Menier's disease makes him change his mind and he opts to carry on alone. I wish we had seen him takes those steps into a new life with a special someone to come home to.
