I wanted to find out what brioche knitting is, and now I know. This book is geared to the newbie, with patterns beginning at simplicity and ending in difficulty. I don't think brioche is what I want from knitting right now, but it's good to know and get an idea of what can be created with brioche.
I liked seeing other books about brioche other than Nancy Marchant. This one had nice patterns to move you through a learning curve with excellent instructional pictures. I'm not a huge fan of yarns that change colors in a skein, so with some of the patterns I had to imagine how they would look with out the riot of color. Patterns to my taste were: Mist, Shimmer and Glisten, Glitz and Glamour, and Coffee and Jewels. The photographs of the author in the garments were great! It made the items look great and possible.
The is book is really well written with a progression in skills and techniques used as the knitter in question becomes more familiar and comfortable with brioche knitting.
