She could save him from the ghosts of his past. But only if he let her…

Hush
I had love once and lost it. Never again.
That’s why I told myself she’s off limits—forbidden.
It doesn’t matter that she’s as sexy and courageous as she is unexpected. Or that I can’t get her out of my mind.
I’m not her happily ever after.
So, I’ll help her investigate why people are going missing in the desert. But I’ll keep my hands—and my heart—to myself.
That’s the plan, anyway…

Seek
My dogs and my career in Search and Rescue are all I need to be happy.
Or so I thought.
Turns out, I need him, too.
But while he’s willing to give me his time, help, and the MC’s resources to solve a mystery even the police won’t touch, he won’t ever love me.
He thinks he’s too old for me. That I’m too good for him. Convincing him he’s wrong won’t be easy.
Good thing I’ve never backed down from a challenge…

I absolutely fell in love with Hush, and I have been wanting to read more about his story since he made several appearances in The Vikings MC (Texas) series.
Hush has tried to forget the scars of his past, but that is so hard since he’ll wear them for life – in mind & body…He fights to keep his monsters at bay everyday… he fights with darkness that has tried to almost swallowed him whole.

The night his wife died in a Tragic accident, that had sent him into a tailspin. He had gone Nomad, unable to live his life in Tucson, in the city where he had lost her. He had left his original club brothers behind, too
Almost four years had passed since he set foot inside the city limits…… now that Hush is back in Arizona but he’s not sure he may the right decision, until he met Seek…… But yet he’s still constantly questioning
himself….

As an independent contractor for the state of Arizona, Jamie Simmons/Seek usually got a call for a missing person only after local police had searched and failed to locate them
But the night that Jamie had met Hush, she had got lucky when the sheriff had called her asking for help to find a young boy in the woods A mere few hours after being missing

I seriously feel like I’m going to enjoy reading this series more than the previous one which was the Texas chapter, Due to the fact that , This club was technically a one-percenter club, but they didn’t sell drugs, or guns. They did have direct dealings with those that did, typically by killing them. They are vigilantes. And all the Members are EX military
Now don’t get me wrong the previous series was amazing but I just have a feeling this one’s going to be just as good or better

The main character has Belgian Malinois dogs. I have a Belgian Malinois dog. Automatic win. When the dogs came into play in this book, I literally ran downstairs to tell my boyfriend about it because I was so excited. Granted, my puppy is more of a couch potato than the trained badasses that Seek's dogs are, but it still counts and I still love the representation.
On that note, Seek's career in search and rescue with her dogs was really interesting to me, since it's not something I've come across before in my reading. It provided her and Hush with not a cute and cozy meet-cute, but definitely a unique, interesting one which formed a good launching point for their story.
I always love the family / camaraderie aspect of MC books and how protective they are of each other and Cathleen Cole definitely didn't disappoint me there. I loved how the other members took it into their own hands to get Hush to take a chance on Seek and pushed him to heal from the loss of his former wife because they knew it was what was best for him. Would I want someone to do that for my boyfriend if we were in that situation? Mmmmmmmm. No. Probably not to be honest. He can love me and only me forever and ever. BUT, we're all different and I don't mind reading about it in a fictional sense. I was rooting for Seek and Hush from the beginning.
Also, I'm getting more and more into the age-gap scene and this was a good one for that.

This was my first read by this authors. It is a standalone, but I think this MMC appears in another series as well. It was fine though, I understood everything that was to understand 😂 especially when it came to his friends from other places.

Now, I read before books where the MMC was married/engaged etc and tragically lost his first half. But in this case this got on my nerves. Why? because I needed the focus to be on how the current couple falls in love. I saw a lot of lust and attraction between them, but I really couldn't understand why they fell in love 🥲. Everything, their feelings and new relationship, was in the shadows of him still mourning his first wife. Which is natural, the mourning part I mean. But I needed more, to really believe and be content with their HEA ;)

I feel like the FMC deserved more in the end. Maybe also because their age gap was huge (30 h, 51 H) and she wasn't his first choice. I have no doubt that if his first wife was still alive, that this new couple would never have happened.

Also, her mother was so out of line and overbearing. Boundaries!

5 💫 for her dogs.

In the end this book might not have been my cup of tea. Especially since I feel that the FMC just accepted everything too easily. I JUST WANTED HER TO BE HIS FIRST CHOICE 🥹. In some way maybe she was, but I feel like she deserved more ;) .

Anyhow, I might try the next book, but not right now.

What to expect
- ex military/MC/vigilanty type of activities
- widowed MMC
- age gap 30/51
- push back from the MMC without any literally groveling... which again didn't sit right with me; the FMC deserved more
- some spice, it was ok; no manhoho, he was celibate all those 4 years after his wife died, which is very understandable; no OP drama, one of the bunnies tries to stir something but everything is solved (too easily in my humble opinion)
- hea, no epilogue, I suppose news about this couple will be in the next books

I found this book (Cathleen Cole as well) through TikTok. I was so hooked within SECONDS of watching the video. I am so honored and shocked that I was able to actually read this ARC for Cathleen!

Hush and Seek are truly fated to be together. From the angst to the fighting. The INTENSE make-out sessions to the emotions that they can't figure out. These two could not be more similar but opposite at the same time! They want to love, they want that connection, and to be happy but with Hush's past and broken heart along with Seeks' nonstop work ethic. These two spend so much time putting their own feelings on hold to help others, until they finally manage to talk about their feelings and put all that aside to get together they are INTENSE, passionate, and mind-blowing.

Words can not and probably will never be enough to explain how much I loved this story. Definitely will be going to buy ALL of Cathleen Cole's books in paperback! I need them!

Tropes: MC, Age-Gap, Grumpy/Sunshine

- Loss of Spouse
- Strong Language
- Explicit Sexual Content

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: protector
Angst: 😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

I was super excited for Hush and Cathleen did not disappoint! Hush is an ex Marine widower who meets "Seek" at an MC family day when one of the kids get lost in the desert. Seek is there with her dogs as the search and rescue team. The attraction is immediate between them, despite both the large age gap as well as Hush's unresolved feelings of guilt over his wife's death. As Hush struggles with his deepening feelings for Seek, Seek is also getting drawn into the mystery of some missing "lost" persons who have disappeared and have never resurfaced.

Absolutely loved TBE book! Great storyline that moved quickly and was super interesting in regards to the search and rescue dogs. I love learning about new things when reading my romances :). Seek was awesome. Liked that she was willing to put herself out there and go after what she wants. Hush is the man, lol. If you like the strong, but silent types who do most of their talking while dirty talking in bed, he'll do it for you, too 😅.. Super excited for the Priest and the rest of this series!

When I picked this book up, I was expecting the usual Age-Gap and MC romance. The last thing I was assuming was to read an angsty and beautiful story. Hush is a widower and still blames himself for his wife’s death. Seek is a self-assured search and rescuer. When they meet, Hush fights with everything in him the attraction he feels for her. I loved how the story developed. This is the first book in a new spinoff series, and I am looking forward to reading the next when it comes out.

This was such a cute story, glad I came across this one on a friend's shelf. Despite its sweet nature, it does deal with grief and the inner battle that one man struggles with as he attempts to come back to the world of the living. Sometimes life throws an unexpected gift at your feet and that is precisely what Hush lands with as he meets Jamie.

I liked the main heroine here, she has her gorgeous dogs and has dedicated her time to help others. Of course, as work seems to have taken quite a bit of her time, she has slightly neglected her personal life. So, when the mysterious biker enters her life, things are about to change.

The attraction between the two is evident from the start, but things are never that simple when it comes to relationships. What stood out here was the solid family unit that the club provides, they were supportive, genuine and there for each other. For sure I will be reading more of those cute MC stories.

I don’t know… I love the authors and always said her MC are more like vigilantes than an actual MC, wich I love, but this is another series and I needed a little more,
It’s me because the book is really good but at some point his dead spouse was too much for me… but it’s only me!
All the new characters introduced are very interesting and I can’t wait for Priest!!!
I really liked a FMC like Seek, refreshing

loved it

Although I wanted to slap Hush on occasion, I can understand why he behaved like he did and sometimes it takes someone completely unexpected to drag you out of your introspection. Seek is a fabulous character and so is her mum - more of her and Jo please! Love the dogs too. Great suspense and I’m dying to know what’s going on !

C Cole F Jensen Vikings Rampage MC Tucson Hush

A New Chapter

Since first meeting Davis "Hush" Jenkins while he was taking up temporary residence with the Austin TX chapter, I've wanted his story, his HEA. I also had someone in mind for it. That didn't go as expected, but Jamie "Seek" Simmons turned out even better. ❤️❤️

My eyes locked with Hush’s and the breath caught in my throat. He really was drop dead gorgeous. Mentally, I berated myself. There wasn’t time to be drooling over a sexy biker.
-- Seek

I love this new chapter in Hush's life as we move from Austin to Tucson. The transition is made even easier, not that it was hard, with a drop in from a favorite TX couple.

My dick kicked behind my jeans, because somehow her naturally husky voice had dropped in tone and I imagined that’s how she sounded in bed. My emotions were all over the fucking board and I couldn’t seem to bring myself under control. That almost never happened—anymore.
-- Hush

I absolutely LOVE everything about this book: Seek's giant heart and great dogs, Hush's remorse and slow healing, Seek's ability to stand up to pretty much anyone, the mission of the MC, and all the rest. I am beyond curious as to how things work out with the desert drama and look forward to the next book.

Prior reading isn't required (but well worth it if you can). Also as seems to be fairly normal for an MC series, they don't really get an HEA, but they are well on their way.

I read along with the audio book. The narrators are Phillipa Miller and Michael Norman Johnson. Both do really good jobs. Duet narration is the only thing missing.

First Impressions
Hush is the first book in the "Vikings MC: Tucson Chapter" Series and this is also my first book by this author. I am not even sure if this was the best place to start with this series, but I decided to go with the series because I had heard this is one of the author's best series to read. I really had a blast with Hush especially with the age gap that it is. I wasn't sure how that would work for me, but what I loved was that the age difference wasn't the primary focus of the story, there was no daddy kink, just felt like a normal romance with a age difference. I had so many hearts and feels with this story, the MC element and the heroine was wonderful. I loved seeing a tortured hero, seeing the ways in which he struggles, learning to face a new relationship and embracing change so beautifully.

First Line
"You need to go home, Hush."

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Hush
The Heroine: Seek

Summary
Our story begins with our hero where we see him in a prologue being tortured by the death of his wife and this prologue takes place about 2 years before the main story begins. We see him leave the club and his family to find peace once again. Now its 2 years and he is back with his family, but he is still tormented and making an effort to move on. When one of his brother's kids goes missing, he and along with the MC are out searching and are given assistance by Seek who is in Search and Rescue and uses her dogs to help find those that are lost. We see the instant connection between Hush and Seek. But Hush is afraid of learning to love again, and Seek isn't afraid to embrace what she has with Hush....but will Hush abandon their love and let his fear consume him?

What I Loved
So many things. The first was the writing immediately sucked me in, I didn't want to put this book down at all. And I am so happy to see that I have discovered a new MC author to indulge in fully. I really loved how this MC handled each other. It doesn't really have the gritty edge that most MC actually have. Its really hard to explain, its not soft or anything, but I love their heart for each other, we still see the MC culture but we don't see the tough gritty side of it, more the sense of family and brotherhood that exists and I really think this style of MC would be great for beginners for sure.

The romance was done so beautifully in this one. I just adored the way in which these two got along and how they worked through issues. The heroine was so patient and understanding with the hero especially once she learns of why he has issues. The way she has a compassionate heart and is so long suffering and loving about it was endearing. But she has her own inner strength to use when she needs to (the cat fight was hilarious cause I didn't expect her to fight like that lol) I adored the club members, and Seek's family, they were a hoot!!!

What I Struggled With
There wasn't really anything I struggled with per say....it's not a five star read or anything, but that doesn't mean this book didn't work for me. Because it most definitely did ....I am just not a huge fan of these big age gaps of 20 years lol

Overall View
I found Hush to be a poignant and endearing MC romance that curled my toes and melted my heart in every way. Its a story you won't be ready for....so buckle your seatbelts for this emotional ride.

5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
1🌶

Seek is investigating some disappearances in the desert and Hush is there to help. He doesn't want to get involved with her due to his broken heart and terrible past, but she's never given up on getting what she wants. Can she mend his broken heart and show him finding love again is worthwhile?

Cathleen Cole and Frank Jensen are new authors to me, so I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. But after reading this fantastic story, I think I've become a fan. Hush has a broken heart that's jaded love to him, and I completely understood where he was coming from. Seek is a hard worker and is constantly putting herself behind others. Both characters were relatable, and I was rooting for them to make it work.

The pair have some intense emotions that make them more passionate about everything they do. From trying to fix each other, to the make-out sessions, they put their all into everything they do. The spice level was pretty low for me, but the overall story made up for it.

I absolutely loved this book! After reading the original Vikings MC series and getting to know a little about Hush, I was really excited to find out we'd be getting a Hush book with the Tuscon Chapter series. And it did not disappoint! Hush has been through so much the past four years and had kept to himself while dealing with his grief and blaming himself. The last thing he expected was to having feelings stir up he hadn't felt in years. I loved reading about Seek and what she does for a living. I really enjoyed her breaking through his walls he'd built up so high! It was great getting a peak into what the MC life is like in Tuscon also. I can't wait for the rest of the series!!! Another great read from Cathleen Cole!

I was lucky enough to find Cathleen Cole through Tiktok, the wonderful world of Booktok. After watching one of her videos, I signed up for an ARC of this book. This was the first book Ive read of Cathleen's.

I love reading MC romances, every signal one brings a different tale to MC life. Hush and Seek were drawn to each other the min they see each other. The book has the perfect amount of lust, suspense and action to have me hooked to read it in 24 hours. I cant wait to read the rest of this MC series.

I couldn't wait to be able to read Hush's story and absolutely loved it. I loved him in the other Vickings Mc stories. He was always so closed off, but could tell there was so much more to his story. He came back to the Tucson chapter and almost instantly met Seek. Even though he didn't want to he kept being drawn to her and fought it. With a little help from his brothers and Ari they pushed him to realize it was ok to want this and how perfect they are for each other!

Hush is mine. 🥰

I have been wanting Hush’s story since he made an appearance in The Vikings MC (Texas) series. The fact that the FMC is named Jamie should prove, he is mine. 😂 I love that Hush is getting a HEA and that Jamie is the perfect independent, slightly stubborn woman for him. The age gap and Hush’s dirty talk make this book's heat all the better. Can not wait for this series to continue with Priest's story.

Awesome read!!! Wasn’t expecting to love Hush and Seek as much as I did. At first I thought it was going to be the same played out story of the dead wife can’t love anyone else blah blah blah but I was pleasantly surprised. This is a first time reading these authors and I am hooked. Starting on Priest now but I’m going to go back to where it all started in Texas.

Good Read

Hush is a biker of few words and a hardened heart. Seek is a strong, determined and skilled rescuer. They meet by chance and instantly notice the sparks between them. Communication is a struggle between the two and when family life and some intrigue enter the picture, entertainment ensues. But don’t take my word for it…read it yourself!

Judge me if you want, but I love MC series! This was a new to me author, but I appreciated so many things about her writing. The fact that both POVs had plots of their own was really nice. This is the first age gap book I have ever liked, and Hush and Seek are hard not to love!
