Surviving the plane crash was the easy part.

Lauryn Vargas is a sucker for a good romance novel, despite her firm belief that love at first sight is purely fiction. But when she looks up from her book to find the man of her dreams walking across the airport toward her, Lauryn wonders if it’s time to rethink that philosophy.

She’s holding out hope for a chance to strike up a conversation, but when their plane goes down in a fiery crash on a remote mountainside, it seems their fated love story was destined to be a tragedy from the start.

Stranded in a cold, dark forest and struggling with the aftermath of injuries, Lauryn quickly discovers she isn’t out of danger just because she escaped death in the wreckage.

Can an ill-prepared librarian become her own heroine to make it through the longest night of her life, or has she reached the final chapter in her saga?

Welcome to the small town of Cedar Creek! Get to know the families, solve the mysteries, and prepare to fall in love…

Bounty Flight by Violet Howe
Cedar Creek Suspense #2. Romantic suspense. Can be read as a stand-alone. No commonality from prior books other than where the heroine lives, which is not where the bulk of this story takes place.
There was a deafening boom and then a horribly piercing screech and then the plane rolled to the left. Lauryn’s plane goes down for a crash landing. Brace, brace, brace. When she comes to, it’s the last row on the right that are the only survivors. She finds a way out of the wreckage, dragging an unconscious Brick behind her. Now she and Brick are in the middle of a thick forest, him with a concussion, little supplies and no cell phone service. How do they survive what’s to come next?

A fast moving adventure leaving you breathless and perhaps planning to wear sturdier shoes on your next flight. And a little bit of lip gloss in case the handsome stranger next to you becomes more than just the arm rest competition. Or if you’re in the middle of the woods and don’t want chapped lips.
Who would you be in those survivor scenarios?

Fun story I could see made for tv movie. Plane crash, bounty hunter, spitfire bookworm, wanted criminal. Add salt & pepper, saute into crazy sauce.

I enjoyed the plot and the idea behind the story but found so much implausible I had a hard time getting into it. I usually enjoy all of Violet Howe's stories so I don't know if it was just me. This just felt off to me.

I felt like the characters all had a pretty similar voice and cookie cutter character flaws. Kinda one dimensional.

I enjoyed the story it just lacked a little something for me. Will definitely read more by this author as I've always loved her work.

Quick read. No grammatical errors.

Triggers: death, isolation, man on woman violence (hostage situation)

This book starts your heart racing from the first sentence. A super fast paced read ( easily done in one evening) that explores a lot of "What would you do" scenarios. Lauryn spots her dream man at the airport.... does she approach him/talk to him? Does she just fantasize about him? When their plane crashes she has to decide the ultimate Fight/Flight/Freeze decisions and reach deep into her Librarian-brain to keep both of them alive. Once Brick is able to work along side her , they have to make decisions that may or may not keep them alive until help can arrive. Buckle your seatbelts everyone -- this will be a bumpy ride....

** I was given this ARC for review ( but have also pre-ordered the book )

Very fast paced thriller. Lauryn Vargas is on her way home when the plane she is on crashes leaving only herself, the sexy man she just met plus one other alive.

Its a fight for survival for them while Lauryn and Brick fight their attraction - more so Brick - as they learn more about each other.

Romance with grit!

Insta-love or lust but not insta-happiness. Brick and Lauryn first cross eyes as they wait to get on a plane. Then the plane crashes and they have to save each other all the while a criminal is on the loose. Lots of action and adventure. As well as some lusty thoughts and kissing. But Brick doesn't have a place in his life for anyone. This heartbreak.

The author runs you through a gamut of emotions. I laughed, cried, got angry, and cried some more. In the end, I smiled with tears in my eyes. Excellently written, with characters you can't help but care for. I hope there are more books to come in this series.

This book pulls you in from the first page. I felt like I was on the plane with Lauryn and Brick and fighting for survival after the crash. It took me a few days to finish reading the book. At times it felt a little too real. From now on I will make sure that the shoes on where on the plane can handle some hiking.

The book is a stand alone. I love visiting Cedar Creek and its residents.

Bounty Flight is a riveting addition to the Cedar Creek Suspense series written by author Violet Howe. The action begins from page one with a spark of connection between the main two characters, Brick and Lauryn…. Yes, I said Brick and yes you are supposed to find this name strange…. There was an impending plane crash and even I was like “huh, that is a strange name!”. This connection is probably the reason both characters end up surviving the crash so that we get the edge of your seat moments interspersed with plethora of banter and get-to-know-you moments between the two as they take on the wilderness in less than ideal conditions. I’m pretty sure this book will have you seriously considering how you dress for your next flight, because survival could very well come down to the shoes on your feet and whether or not you have a jacket, just in case.

Lauryn is adorable and Brick is magnetic even though he is trying so very hard not to be. Their connection is so strong that it will have you thinking this book is straight up insta-love, but don’t dismiss it as this author takes on this trope and makes it beyond work for her story.

This book is well-balanced. First, in the handling of a tragedy - loss of life is acknowledged, but you get plenty of distractions through subtle humor as the survivors cope with being survivors and try to remain survivors. Second, in the handling of love sparked and connection ignited midst a tragedy. And then…. there is enough suspense throughout to keep you flipping the pages!!!!

This book may begin with a crash, but the story and the characters continue to soar and stick the landing!

I love this author and her ability to understand us human beings so very well 💜

I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review.

“To the world you may be imperfect, but you’re perfect for me…”

Small town librarian Lauryn Vargas is returning from a book convention when she spots the man of her dreams across from her at the airport. With a beating heart and a shaking of her head, she wishes she could figure out a way to chat with the mystery man. Fate has a funny way of granting her wish when she boards the plane and notices he’s also a passenger…but their chance meeting is quickly followed by tragedy when the plane goes down in a fiery inferno in the mountains. Lauryn never dreamed she would end up living out one of the scenarios in her beloved romance novels, but here she is…stranded with a handsome stranger…as well as someone else who will do whatever it takes to survive…

Will most likely show my age here, but Bounty Flight so reminded me of an old 80’s film I love, “Romancing the Stone”—a writer of romance finding herself way over her head in the wilds of the jungle and ending up with the most unlikely of heroes. If you enjoy snarky banter, page turning adventure and, of course, an ending with…well, I’ll not spoil the mystery…you’ll just have to snag your own copy!

Highly recommend and, as always, look forward to reading more from this author and her stories from the small town of Cedar Creek.

I have always been a huge fan of Violet Howe and her stories! Her writing style is so easy to get sucked into and enjoy. Bounty Flight was absolutely no exception, and I truly believe it is my favorite of Mrs. Howe’s books to date!

From the very beginning, the suspense is so deep and heart throbbing that you feel like you’re in the story while it’s happening. There are surprises behind every page turn in this novel, and the plot moves along so smoothly that doesn’t even feel like you’re reading a novel anymore but rather living it instead. The main characters in Bounty Flight are so well developed that their personalities shine despite their circumstances. Even the world building is top tier! It’s so easy to visualize what is happening and where it’s happening! Again, this is by far my favorite of Violet Howe’s novels, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next installment of the Cedar Creek series!

What a ride! Both books in this series have brought the suspense in different ways. Whiskey Flight had our main character on the run from a stalking mob ex. Bounty Flight hits us in the gut with an almost universal fear ... a plane going down in the worse way. So intense! And what a job Violet did writing out those scenes without terrorizing and already terrifying scenario. And once our leads were on the ground, I loved the real world style problem solving. Survivors working though the possibilities of rescue, dealing with their surroundings in the meantime, plus .... one of those survivors is a criminal hell bent on using this as his get-out-of-jail-free card. Everyone had their own agenda, and seeing those agendas change and adapt as the story went along was fascinating. Our main characters forge a strong bond because of their dire situation, but I'm glad Lauryn and Brick had time to work through more than just those moments when building their romance.

Oh my word! Clear your schedule before you start this book because you’ll continually want to know what happens next. I was lucky enough to receive an early copy from the author, but I made a huge mistake starting it when I crawled into bed. This book kept me up until I had read it entirely, needing to know what happened next. It was just that good!

A random glance in the airport, followed by disappointment when Brick disappears from view and Lauryn not seeing him board the plane, to surprise when she sees him seated at the back of the plane...you know things are going to get interesting. First, he saves her by shielding her body during the plane crash. Then she saves him when he is unconscious after. It’s a back and forth of who saves who and when...all while facing and fighting nature plus looking for the escaped fugitive (thus, Bounty in the title).

Fasten your seatbelt and hold on….Violet Howe has written a fast paced, heart pounding book that rivets your attention from page one.
Cedar Creek librarian Lauryn sees the man of her dreams in a crowed airport. Fantasizing about the life they could lead, she is surprised to see him again on her flight. But bounty hunter Brick is preoccupied with getting his prisoner to the authorities.
That is, until the unexpected happens. Surviving the unexpected will take all the wits of both Lauryn and Brick. A great book with a lot of ups and downs (no pun intended!) I received an early copy from the author and thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Lauyrn loves romance novels and having just attended a Book Conference she’s heading home. While at the airport waiting to head home, she looks up and whoa, the man of her dreams is headed her way. Looking away briefly she looks back up and he’s gone. Thinking she’s lost her chance to meet him she boards the plane. Having to use the restroom during the flight, guess who she sees…you guessed it. I was hooked from the first page and I couldn’t put it down until I found out what happened next. I won’t spoil the story…it’s a great read…you won’t regret it!!!

I would give this book 10 stars if I could! I couldn't put it down!

Can you find the love of your life during the biggest tragedy of your life? Or is it all one big adrenaline rush? When Lauryn finds herself fighting for her life with the help of a man she's never met, are the feelings she is having real or are they a product of her environment? This book will have you hooked in the first chapter!

I think Bounty Flight had the perfect amount of suspense and danger, but I always felt safe with Brick by Lauryn's side. The humor was placed perfectly and really kept things from getting too dark. I loved Lauryn's down to earth attitude and wit. There was real danger and tragedy in this story, but love and romance is at the heart of Bounty Flight.

If I didn’t have qualms about flying, this book might give them to me. Lauryn works in a library and is on her way home from a book retreat. Brick is a bounty hunter flying home with his prisoner. But the flight doesn’t make it home. How did the 3 of them end up being the only survivors, and will they all survive both physically and emotionally from their ordeal?

Lauryn is getting ready for her flight when she spots Brick who is so handsome. Brick is a bounty hunter and does not have time for anything. This does not stop a little flirting from happening while on the flight, until BAM, the flight goes down. WOW, 3 people survive and Brick is hurt. There is good banter, little sexy thoughts and a race to survive.

Violet Howe does it again!! This book hooked me in by chapter 2. It was an adventurous story that kept me turning pages. The heroine, Lauryn, made a great character and I couldn't help but picture The Rock as her love interest. Another great story in the Cedar Creek series!!

Interesting

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I am looking forward to reading more. This story did not go the way I was expecting but not in a negative way. It was just not as suspenseful or intense as others I usually read.

Wow! Violet Howe took readers on a suspenseful ride in this read. She caught me from the first page and never let up. I could not put this one down and read it in one day. Ms Howe is known for her plucky heroines and did not disappoint in this book. I think Lauryn even surprised herself with her level of bravery. Beginning with the plane crash, written so realistically, this was an adventure taking place in one day about survival in a wilderness area. A definite five star recommendation from me.

I read this book as an ARC and wish to thank Violet Howe and the publishers for the opportunity. The ideas in this review are strictly my own.
