Lovely read. I've only recently found Colin Thiele's work through a recommendation for older Australian authors, and was very fortunate to find a copy of this book in a local free library.

A wonderful story for the younger age group, it reads smoothly with a consistent theme and strong message for marine conservation. The characters are well described with a nice down to earth family and friends. The nautical theme is seemingly consistent for Thiele's works and shows with his in-depth knowledge of fishing boats and coastal areas.

The Dolphin 'Speedy' as the main attraction is very beloved and realistic, creating a bond with the characters and helping them in critical moments that made the story very captivating. I was very pleased with the conclusion to the story that I'm sure anyone will agree with.
