Margot’s paintings are stunning, terrifying, and prophetic. Within months, the world will end—but few believe her . . .
The end times predicted in the book of Revelation are about to crash down upon the world. The forces of evil are marshalling under the guise of a man of peace. One woman, gifted with divine prophecy, foretells a time of terrible trial and divine judgment.
Are her visions a gift from God, warning that the coming Tribulation can be avoided? Or are they a trick from the Great Deceiver?
When Dylan discovers her prophecies, his life changes forever, and he joins her. Then people begin vanishing. The world descends into chaos, anarchy, and lawlessness. And her paintings send Margot and Dylan on a dangerous mission. But rushing to stop them—the Antichrist and his legions of evil.
Will they prevail against the dark forces sent to destroy them? Will the world abandon its cynicism and see the hand of God before it’s too late?
Mark wrote his first twelve pages at the age of ten, complete with drawings of a prairie fire, Indians, and a stampede. More recently he’s authored books of epic fantasy and historical fiction for the Christian and the general market. Mark E. Fisher’s eighth novel begins a series of Christian end-times thrillers based on the book of Revelation.
At various times, he has welded rails for the railroad, inspected glass in a glass factory, given checks to welfare clients, and programmed micro-code for IBM. He has helped plant a church and is active in Christian missions. He and his wife enjoy traveling with recent visits to Japan, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Ireland, France, Italy, and Switzerland. Sometimes, on his travels, stories seek him out. Once a month, he plays guitar in the church band.
Mark's latest series of Christian end-times thrillers, DAYS OF THE APOCALYPSE, became an Amazon bestseller. The fifth and final book in the series is published in April, 2024.
Prior to this, Mark wrote three novels of Christian historical fiction set in ancient, Celtic Ireland. DEATH OF THE MASTER BUILDER, set in Renaissance Italy, followed and was written for the general market.
Mark has also published an epic high-fantasy series, The SCEPTER AND TOWER trilogy for young adults.
This book is well thought-out, very timely, and full of Biblical truth. While fiction, it shows what, when, and why we need to open our eyes and see where we have gotten off track with the PC philosophies that are destroying our country. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
Mark does a brilliant job of setting his characters in a time and place we could see tomorrow . The day the end began is what I pray ends up being just the very fire part of he story . It comes with a guarantee to not be able to out it down or have your breath taken away.
I give this 4-1/2 stars, although I can't do that on the official rating. I took off half a star because of the way the author treated important theological aspects of two characters. He says that he used "literary license" and, of course, I know the book is fiction, but I believe when a person writes a book about an important Biblical subject such as the Rapture, anything to do with the Rapture itself should be as accurate as possible. When the author let one of the characters pray to be left behind so that he could help certain unsaved people - as noble as that might be - there is absolutely nothing scriptural about such an action. There is another character who apparently rejects God and loses her salvation and is left behind, only to begin believing again later. The Bible teaches once saved, always saved. Otherwise, the book is very good. I like the characters and the many things that happen are believable and for the most part, are scriptural. The author helps these end times and the aftermath of the Rapture come to life. Other than the two things I mentioned above, I agree and believe he has captured this upcoming event and the times well. It is certainly a worthwhile read and a reminder of the times we are living in.
I loved the characters and how they were involved in the story. It was scary but hopeful. I do but I don't want to be present when all this happens. I am finding as much as I can about the end times.....fhank you for this book.
This novel had many many good and godly precepts, and scriptures.
However, it had several 'issues', that I wish the author had not felt, he had to use in order to move his novel along.
For example: One of the main characters prays to be left behind, in order to give the gospel and save others.
That idea, more or less diminishes God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy spirit....
Did the author think, God could not have found a way to save those left behind, in some other way?
Like maybe: the 144,000 Jews, or maybe the 2 angels flying about speaking the gospel, or the 2 witnesses, or the tons of Bibles left behind or perhaps even one of God's angels? etc etc.
Then, there is a girl who was a strong believer ( albeit Catholic, who 'loses' her faith (she thinks), and then regains it....
But once saved, always saved.
I think it's best if authors, stick to what God says in the Bible, even in their Christian fiction.
Because, some readers may be non-believers, and some baby Christians, who might think those unbiblical ideas are real, and 'truths'...... from God's Word the Bible.
And lastly, there is a LOT of drinking. So much, that it almost feels like some of the characters, are on their way to becoming alcoholics!
Still, there were many many wonderful, precepts and application of scripture.
And this first book in the series, had a more up to date feeling to the novel in the areas of politics, culture, technology etc. etc.
At first, I thought, oh...this is a Catholic author, but then, I realized, he was kind of looking at the errors of several different 'religions, cults, occult groups, political groups etc.
So, I will read the next in the series. It had enough good...to warrant continuing reading.... but I am just letting others know a few of the 'lesser' parts.
Having just finished a trilogy of minor characters entwined in the ministry of Jesus and his death and resurrection, I was led to this book. Mark Fisher does a great job building characters around the second coming very similar to the left behind series but may be a little more complex. It’s always interesting when the Lord leads you to have certain things on your mind. After reading intermittently through the night, I came downstairs in the next section of the merge gospels by Gary Crossland I was reading was Jesus talking about a second coming. I would take that as an approval of this book by Holy Spirit. Besides being convicted to speak to more people about Jesus, I particularly enjoyed the heavens scene with the character Blake. I immediately had visions of how I would be dressed in my favorite clothes being in my favorite places. He made it real. Thank you.
This is truly one of those 'sitting on the edge of the chair' books. I have to immediately get books two and three. Time is running out. Literally, time as we know it, on this earth, is running out. Those who do not believe that Jesus is the Messiah should just read the Bible and study for themselves. HE is God made flesh. He is the Creator. All things were created BY HIM, For HIM, and Through HIM. He will forgive, no matter who you are or what you have done. My personal motto is this: " If I am wrong, I have Nothing to lose. If you are wrong (an unbeliever)' you have EVERYTHING to lose." And trust me, I am not wrong. Jesus is Lord and Messiah. ( Review by Sue C. Weaver)
This series is a more modern day version of the Left Behind Series, including modern day issues such as Covid-19, "woke" theology, etc not overdone, just places reader in more current time. Good characters, scripture throughout and true to theology for a fictional series. Each book gives a possible glimpse into a character that passes away but goes to either Heaven or Hell destination (according to author, based on first hand accounts of someone who had near death experience testimony) Very interesting at the very least, and compels those of us who know Christ, believe in Him, to reach out to our unbelieving family and friends. It is a Pre-Trib theology, same as Left Behind series of the 90's. I've read the first 3 books, can't wait for book #4 in October!
This is one of the best end times novels I have ever read! It kept me turning the pages, even when I should’ve been sleeping.
Things are getting so bad on the West Coast right now that I look up into the clouds and imagine that Jesus is coming back. My own family has turned against me and many in my congregation have unbelieving families some of whom are involved in very woke lifestyles.
I know things can get worse, but I hope the Lord returns and takes us out of here before they do.
I am standing strong in my faith even though my family hates me, my children hate me. I will still hold tight to Jesus.
Thank you for such a wonderful depiction of the end times. Our hearts need to be ready.
This isn't the first nor will it probably be the last book I read about the rapture and the time after this event. I'm just sorry that this is again a first book in a series. I really don't like books without proper ending. In his preface the author refers to the series "Left behind" and he feels the need to "update" it somehow. The thing is: there's no such thing as an update that would bring things to our present time or any further revelation. Nether the less it's quite interesting, although the characters are stereotypes, especially Dylan's father. Dylan's request not to be taken is at the very least questionable. I#m not sure I'll look out for the next book.
This author is an excellent writer. The words and descriptions made the story come alive for me. The story was excellent and it kept me engaged. The author gave a full disclosure of his political views in his foreword, so I should have expected the bias in his writing. However, it made the book feel like the writer was getting his "digs in" rather than teaching folks about the importance of saving their souls. With this platform you have access to many and this could change their lives and save their souls! May Yahweh be the judge! HalleluYAh!!!
As the author states in the preface, it’s been 25 years since “Left Behind” was published. The world is much different today, as sin and violence, political corruption on both sides, and immorality permeate all. This is the first book in a new series that I compare to Left Behind. The characters are different (I actually like them better) and spiritual warfare is included more. There’s a scene about hell that’s truly frightening. I highly recommend this book to anyone, believer or not, as a great read about what could happen at any moment.
Amazing, well written, believable characters, a book to read over and over about the beginnimg of the Apocalypse, spell binding, fast moving, brought tears to my eyes, made me feel involved!
I apologize for this type of review with descriptions about what I found in this book but putting everything into sentence format would be a book.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU GET THIS BOOK. WHEN YOU GET IT, PLEASE GET EXTRA COPIES AND GIVE TO OTHERS WHO ENJOY READING! DO WHAT YOU CAN TO LET AS MANY AS POSSIBLE READ IT!
As I was reading, lost in the story; I found my body was so tense as I read some scenes, I had to remind myself to relax my muscles. Completely captured .
The one thing I found not to my liking was the authors attempts to describe heaven. He spent too much time on it, describing things that none of us can really imagine or clearly grasp. That just my opinion on that.
I hope there will be more to this series, I'm well impressed.
Too much like a Christian preacher preaching a sermon. There is some action but mostly it is all about the salvation of Christ. If you are a Christian and go to church regularly, then this may be for you. I got through 60% and stopped because it was getting boring. If I wanted a sermon, I would have gone to Church. Way too much about the rapture and those left behind who deal with the after effects.
This is a very good and accurate book - for the most part. But every genuine Christian discerns that to be a Chrisitian and Catholic are two different things. And anyone who has the Spirit of the Lord residing within him/her at the time of the Rapture Will go to our Lord Jesus and Not be left behind! These are two large problems with an otherwise spendid book. Thank you.
I’ve read the Left Behind series several times throughout my life. But this book…it’s chilling because it’s written in modern times, and it’s easy to see how much our world has fallen. Lately I’ve felt that the Rapture is quickly approaching. After reading this book, I’m more convinced than ever.
A very good comparison of Revelation to today. Lots of scripture. If you ever wonder what the end times will be like, read this book. With all the deceit, chaos and persecution in today's world it really makes you wonder. But only we can change things through Jesus Christ. Love all your comments afterwards. Great job. Looking forward to Book 2. Thank you.
one of the most excellent works of Christian fiction I've ever read
This book is outstanding. Recently discovered future prophecy based Christian fiction, and I can't get enough! This is one of the BEST I've read yet, and I can't wait to start the next book in the series. Thanks to the author for such an uplifting, terrifying, and, I believe, Holy Spirit infused work. Kudos!
The book was a little clunky and at times I struggled with who was who. But it picked up at the end and became quite enjoyable. I look forward to more of Fisher’s writing. The battle between angels and demons has begun. Will the siblings be able to outsmart their father who has chosen the side of the enemy?
It is fast approaching! This book, although a novel is based in biblical truth translating the prophecies from n the Bible to current times. following two brothers and their sister through the rapture and the rise of the anti Christ it uses biblical passages to relate occurrences in the book. A good read b
We are waiting for the end of this world, for a time of great trouble and then a new heaven and a new earth. We have been warned. We can be ready and be spared, but we must be willing to hear God's Word and believe and not wait. Read this and read the Bible, before it's too late, for you.
This book is a fantastic read. Very captivating and always moving forward. Loved the biblical narrative. The characters fun and engaging. Read this book, you won't be disappointed!
I have read alot of Christian end times series, but this book was a bit different. It was very interesting to read about hell and refreshing to read about Heaven. Very interesting and highly recommended
I really enjoyed this book about end times. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series. Highly recommend this book to those that are wanting to know more about end time prophecy.
As a Left Behind fan this is a great read. Many of the situations in our world and especially in our country are indicators of the coming of Jesus. He is coming back.
I really enjoyed this book! This story was intense, the characters were well developed, and there is a lot of action. One part of this story is truly horrific in details of what happens to non believers after death. I highly recommend this book .
A moving narrative of the Biblical beginning of the end times. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the a Biblical view of God’s plan for the future.
I read a lot post apocalyptic fiction many Christian worldview. This is one of the best from the Christian worldview and it teaches the Bible as well. Thank you, Mark Fisher.
The best and most detailed left behind series I have read to date! I felt as if I looked out of the window I would see the destruction the rapture left behind. Bravo!!
