Daddy's Rent Boy

Rate this book
One night can change everything.

I don’t pay for sex. I don’t sleep with men. And I definitely don’t let anyone call me Daddy. But then I find myself in Vegas for my brother’s bachelor party, fresh out of a divorce that was too long coming and finally free to do all sorts of things I’ve never done before.

When I turn down a night of clubbing and decide to stay in, my brother sends a ”party favor” up to my suite instead… one that turns out to be too young, too male, and too goddamn perfect for me to turn away.

So perfect that I just might decide to keep him forever.

DADDY’S RENT BOY is a 36,000-word erotic gay romance between a man who’s lived forty years in denial and the sweet, damaged boy who finally pulls him out of the closet. Read it if you like OTT instalove, boys who crave direction and praise, Daddies with a savior complex, and dirty hawt hotel sex. Pass if that's not your jam or if you're looking for something deep, dark, or angsty.

Trigger Warning: references to past sexual coercion, parental neglect, and an abusive relationship.

Publishing History: This novella was first published in the 2021 Dirty Daddies Pride anthology. No substantial changes have been made to the story.

Can porn be cute? Obviously! Here is the "story" of a wounded insecure boy

I’d never felt flutters like this before. I’d never had hands on me that made me feel safe instead of scared. 🥺

and a Daddy who has never been one but always wanted to be.

His whole body relaxed the minute I took charge, proving my suspicions right: he was definitely my Kryptonite. A boy who didn’t just respond to my direction, but who needed it. Who needed someone to care for him. 🤩

The "plot" if you will, consists of a single night and is made up of inner monologues and sex. Oh my god ... those inner monologues got on my nerves so much!!! So much more could have been packed into this book if they had been cut down. The rest ... incredibly sweet and just what I needed right now. The dynamic between Damien and Jack is over the top perfect.

My cock was so swollen and hard it was obscene-looking… and kind of hot? Was it weird to think my own cock looked hot? But it wasn’t mine, and that was why it was hot. It belonged to Daddy, and he’d decorated it and made it pretty for himself, tied it up and trapped it, trapped me, and that… that was a kind of perfect I’d never even known existed before. 🥵🥵🥵

Tedious repetitive drivel. You could read every 8th sentence of this book and skip the rest and not miss a single thing. The concept was solid but the rambling execution of it was not.

He’d said he’d take care of me.
He made me feel safe.
He made it seem real.
And then, as if he’d finally found what he was looking for, he murmured, “You’re perfect,”

Chara never disappoints 😩🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤎🤎

I really hope she releases a new book soon. I've read her entire backlist at this point 😭😭😭🤧🤧

This was as always, deliciously steamy with an extra UMPH of cock ring substitution 😉

Don't mind this cover y'all. I don't know why there's a bald guy here but... just don't mind the cover 🤣

(Don't mind me avoiding all Long Game updates. I hate all you blowing up my feed 😜🤪🤪 I'm not ready to experience the rollercoaster of their ending.
Also Bellamy's book is releasing in 2-3 days so let me just hyperventilate for a good 36 hours!!!!!!!😭😭🤧🤧🤧😭😭)

I loved their daddy and boy dynamics it just comes naturally to them.
But goddammit chara croft inner monologue Can be a bit much all of this taken place in the span of one night when we could explore so much more of their relationship.

Let me just start by saying, I don’t care for Daddy kink, it’s just not my cup of tea. I also do. not. like. instalove… let alone OTT instalove.

But other than that, it’s like Chara Croft opened up my brain, took a look around and gave me every else I could ever want to make up for the at fact. The writing? Very solid. Characters? Great, even down to the diabolical little brother.

And then I’m given Jack, the saddest of sad boys, who thrives off praise. Jack isn’t just Damien’s Kryptonite, he is mine. The conversation about limits was like a gut punch. Jack knowing sex is always painful but ready to do it for Daddy anyway? Crushing. The caretaking? The carrying? Gimme.

And just when I was thinking the only thing that this book was missing was some rimming, Chara more than delivered. Who doesn’t love when someone who doesn’t know what rimming is, gets rimmed, and it’s a life changing experience? Because I do.

So, here I am, giving an instalove daddy kink book 5 stars. Chara, what have you done to me?

The good
+ The instalove
+ Jack finally enjoying sex
+ Jack already learning that many things his ex didn't allow are perfectly fine with Damien
+ Jack showing off his blowjob skills in a positive setting for once

The neutral
o Damien never told Jack it was his first time. Which is fine, of course, since he paid Jack (or Marcus did), but I still wish he had been honest about it

The bad
- "For the sake of my own sanity, I'd decided to believe when he said he was old enough to not get me in trouble." Damien is not sure this rent boy is an adult. He's willing to have sex with him anyway. What the fuck?
- Consent was questionable in any scenario. Either Jack was indeed underage, which made consent impossible, or Jack was an adult and the story he told Damien was true. That meant Jack didn't really have any other choice than being there in order to earn enough money to be able to eat, which implies questionable consent at best. Then later, when asked about his limits, it becomes clear that Jack has no idea about the meaning of consent at all. Damien forged ahead anyway because his poor dick was so hard
- Damien made Jack cry multiple times by being such an asshole to him, and Jack just forgave him because he didn't know any better. Damien should have been groveling for forgiveness. Damien also resented Jack's 'acting' for a large portion of their time together, which just made the entire encounter even more gross
- Damien was really mad at Marcus for crossing all kinds of boundaries, being an asshole for calling a person a 'party favor', and ignoring him when he said he just wanted to sleep. I was expecting some kind of confrontation, where all of Damien's Daddy instincts would fired up and he'd tell Marcus what a dick move all of that was. Instead, we got... nothing. The book just ended
- Damien could have helped Jack by making sure Greg and Jack's ex got what they deserved. Instead, nothing happened there either
- Damien's brand of 'caretaking' was basically just making Jack cry by being an asshole, and then soothing the hurt he had inflicted himself

This did not work for me at all. Damien had so many bad excuses to justify being an asshole, and Jack deserved so much better than that. I hope the next time Jack cries, it won't be because of Damien, but I'm not holding my breath... Would not recommend.

This was such a great novella - Jack is the squishiest low esteem cinnamon roll baby and I adored him! He is anxious and down on his luck and he needs his Daddy to take care of him and make all his dreams come true.

Damien is an asshole at first but quickly becomes the most attentive, loving Daddy ever. He wants to give his boy everything and is willing to put it all on the line for him.

This is set over one night (`which I always think works best for novellas), but we get plenty of emotion, connection and SPICE. These two are SO hot together! They are both absolutely desperate for each other and just as intense and needy. The perfect match!

There is a lot of inner monologue throughout the book and I know that will frustrate some people, but it got me in the feels so much I didn't mind at all.

The novella does end kind of abruptly and I would LOVE this to be extended to a full length novel so we can watch them find their HEA after this HEA (if that makes sense). But I'm really glad I read it and would definitely recommend!

I'm so glad Mama Chara made this into a standalone book as it deserved its own spotlight!
I adore this story - with a completely needy boy and first time Daddy - there is soooo much emotion in this book that I could read it over and over and over and never get bored.
Completely swoonworthy, but still sweet and steamy - it's the complete package!

This was such a cute instalove daddy romance! I completely understood Damien falling in love with Jack because I did too. I just wanted to hold him, feed him, and make him all better. Luckily Damien was there to take care of Jack the way he deserves.
It was very over the top and sweet. I wish it were longer, because I want to read more of their story.

Spoilers ahead.

I just absolutely loved how angst free this was. I do love me some "I love him but he probably doesn't love me" bs but sometimes you just need some "I love him and I'm ready to confess even if he doesn't love me" and that's exactly what this book was.

The length, the story, the pacing, the spice... everything was just great.

Man, I love Chara.

Oh!! I love Daddy/boys and instalove. This story is sweet and hits all the right spots. I love the hesitancy from Damien to give in to what he really wants after years of not being able to. I love Jack’s naive like need to belong and have someone care for him like no one has before.

This book fell into the categories of this years challenge and I admit I went in with low expectations and not a lot of high hopes but this book really delivered.

Just the right mix of sweet and spicy, triggers that are so in your face you can’t read it. The characters are relatable and believable and honestly when it comes to Jack, downright loveable. Great story!

I bought this and then realized I had already read it in the Dirty Daddies anthology. Oh well. It’s still a decent story.

Even though this was short and insta-lovey, I liked it.

Both characters were likable and the scenes were sufficiently hot.

huge cliche melodrama, but fun! dicey with consent/blurred with J's gig acting. D acted too confidently for a man who'd never had sex with a man or acted as a daddy before.
