One Wish

Rate this book
If you were granted a wish, what would it be? Be honest. Would you wish to be the richest person in the world? Or would you want to be famous? For Audrey Stone (who may or may not just ever so slightly indulge her celebrity worship syndrome), life as the wife of the dreamiest Hollywood hotshot, Eli Prescott, is her wishful desire.

On the night of a libatious twenty-first birthday, Audrey made her wish. And guess what—it came true!

Now, she’s part of a world she has only ever dreamed of; a world where private jets, photoshoots, and signing autographs is standard living. Life as a highly desired supermodel couldn’t get any better but there is a major snag. She can’t remember who she is . . . and her Hollywood hotshot hates her guts.

Well, that's super different than your usual Jaimie Roberts.

Basically it's a body swap romance between a normal waitress from Wyoming and the supermodel wife of a famous actor. It has zero steam, chick lit vibe, and no darkness at all.

Which if you've read any of Jaimie Roberts books before, you know she'll always put some dark twist in them. In fact, she's one of my favourite dark romance authors ever. So, to read this book, it kinda gave my system a shock.

Granted, this is a years long project for this author, so kudos to her for making her dreams come true. Me though? Definitely an experience that gratefully I enjoyed and that's it. It was an okay famous people romance book.

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person - Dual

Audrey Stone worked hard in her small town since she was very young. A simple wish on her twenty-first birthday took her on the path of her favorite Hollywood heartthrob Eli Prescott. But she quickly found out that nothing appeared as it seemed.

For true romantics, this book might make your heart pitter-patter. The story is light and easy to read with some family drama for conflict. I enjoyed the overall story, but the first half of the book felt repetitive at times, and some parts were a bit cheesy or over the top. Also, the ending was too easy for my preference.

I know she’s desperate to get back to her life and I know she has every right to feel that way, but the highly selfish part of me wonders… where do I fit into all of this?

I liked Eli. Though I felt for him, there were several times I wanted to knock him out. What Audrey went through was either a dream come true or a nightmare, and she managed to handle it well.

One Wish is a story of finding a deserving love. It would appeal to readers who enjoy a light, slow-burn Romance with element of fantasy.

Wow. This was soooo cute. When lovely Ms. Jaimie send me the copy of this book, i searched her a bit. As i understand, she generally write books spicy and darkish. But this one was super cute and so far from dark. Also def a page turner!

I loved that one wish have things that can happen in real life and things that can’t happen in real life. There was fantastic materials too. (For example, the plot bahaha) Also the drama was really enough. I hate so much dramas in PGs. This book is good in every part i guess?

I really felt connected and comfort with Aubrey and Eli. Thanks to the author for a copy💌

My first book by Jaimie Roberts and I was sitting on the edge of my seat most of my day with eyes glued to my screen.

What would I do if I could have my one wish come true? I don't know for sure to be honest but.. for Audrey it was certainly an unexpected journey.
I guess you can't always believe the grass is always greener on the other side and looks can be deceiving.

Eli was sweet and not at all what I pictured in the beginning. He sure didn't deserve the likes of Kendra!!

Overall I enjoyed this book. I didn't quite know what you expect even though I had read the blurb but when Jaimie had asked if I would like to read it and said.....

"Think of the movies Face/Off and Freaky Friday where the protagonists switch bodies. It's a little like that."

I was still not sure what to think. It's not "Dark" and it's on the lighter side but it's definitely really good.

I truly enjoyed One Wish and I hope others will too! Totally recommend.

About a year ago I discovered Jaimies books and have enjoyed diving in to her world.

This book a different type of read for me because it was mixed with fantasy and reality romance.

Aubrey has everything from friends to a business owner but one thing she doesnt have is actor Eli Prescott. This girl has been obsessed with Eli for years. One her 21st birthday Eli walks in to her coffee shop and her world spins upside down.

As I read this story I felt a connection with this couple. I was their little cheerleader as I read.

If you want a pg story with low drama but full of angst then I highly suggest this. This book is worth diving into.

Intriguing and entertaining, this unique story is unlike any I’ve read in a very long time!
The question “do wishes come true” is put to the test when our heroine makes a birthday wish involving her favorite movie star. Making a wish takes a life of its own full of holy WOW moments after a chance encounter with said favorite star.

Be careful what you wish for, as things are not always HOW you want them, as Aubrey soon discovers.
The characters were well developed and likable although at times I struggled connecting with their situation. Nonetheless, overall this lighthearted, slow burn romance, was enjoyable and easy to read.

My issue with this story was that it took place in the USA and the characters were American. I found too many idioms and phrases that were not native to the “American” language but more British, making the characters sound out of place and unrelatable .

This was such a unique and intriguing love story that captivated my heart right from the start. The characters were fantastic, hilarious and made the story so entertaining.

It’s definitely a slow burn romance but I was still glued to pages needing to know how it was all going to turn out. There are some twists and turns throughout that will shock you a bit but overall the story is quite beautiful and kept me smiling, laughing and gushing with love.

Highly recommend if you want something lighthearted with a wonderful ending.

One Wish by Jaimie Roberts
Releases 5/24
⭐️4.5/5
This is a contemporary romance where you make one wish and it completely changes your life. It’s a small town girl and the hunky movie star that have a chance meet that flips everything upside down. To be honest I didn’t read the blurb because I knew whatever it was was going to be good since Jaimie wrote it. All other books I’ve read from her were super steamy or dark so this threw me off but it was still a really good cute story.

Okay so I got this book as an ARC and let me tell you I love Jamie Roberts books. But this one is nothing like I’ve ever read. It is not dark at all. There is no Smut but there is a beautifully written story of how two people collide. Although this isn’t my typical read I did enjoy the story that’s is why I gave it 4 stars ⭐️. I felt so bad for Eli but I’m so happy the book ended with an HEA and he finally found his happiness.!!!

This is one of the books that I am not sure how I managed to finish. I have read a few of Jaimie Roberts books so I had some expectations, which was also the whole reason for sticking with it. But man.....it was hard. The constant self loathing of Kendra/Audrey.....it annoyed me to no end. Yes I got it after 2 chapters and I will get it after 20 as well.

Kendra was an extremely interesting character and I enjoyed that Audrey didn't feel as her but at the same time did think it was her. So Kudos to that, that was for once new. But the constant saying of "oh I am awful, I am the worst, how could I have done such horrible things to my perfect husband" blah blah.....it was annoying. WHY did she do the things? Make the character question herself, give her some self love actually. Just anything to make the character not one-dimensional. But it just didnt work out. The big "plot-twist" was good though. Still I really wished Jaimie Roberts did something similar to what she did in her previous books (Siren and I'm a creep). This book, however, was definitely not it.

sweet, different love story

I rarely give 5-star reviews; they are for books I would reread only. This book sat on my kindle for a few months before I started it, but once I did I finished in a day. I love this story. It’s sweet, it’s different, and it’s not over-the-top sappy. There aren’t pages of filler, everything is there for a reason. It left me feeling happy and joyful. There’s no real angst, no OW drama, and no flowery dialogue that made me roll my eyes. I’m so glad that I finally read this book.

Ok, one thing that made me laugh in disbelief (yes, I know the story is fanciful!) is that two McDonald’s meals cost just under $12, including shakes. But it doesn’t make me drop a star (haha).

I am a huge fan of Jaimie Robert's Deviant series so when I received One Wish, I went into it not knowing what to expect. It's a lot different from what she has written before but still enjoyable. I like the story line and the characters that were introduced. Not to give any spoilers, I'll just say this: Kendra was something! One Wish is an interesting read that makes you realize, you must live in someone else's shoes to judge them and truly understand them. Cute read with an HEA.

The story is about Audrey, who made a wish to be a wife of famous actor (Eli) for a month. The next day she wakes up as a beautiful supermodel, who is currently married to Eli and she doesn't remember her "past life". Eli finds out all about it and falls in love with Audrey. Apparently Audrey was hit by a car and she's in coma but her soul is in a body of supermodel. After a month she's back to her old life and she wakes up from coma but she doesn't remember the month when she was a wife of Eli. He gets divorce and comes for Audrey for their happy ending.

Okay so the book was good, but I feel like something is missing. I feel like there were no unexpectable turns and I didn't feel big emotions. It was enjoyable book and I would read it if I were bored.

I also heard that this is the first this type of book by the author so maybe that's why.

After all, it's a 4 stars because the book was quite good but adrenaline and the thrill of emotions were missing.

This was fun…

Reminiscent of Somewhere in Time, without the time travel. Audrey somehow manages to merge into Eli’s model wife, Kendra. Kendra is a total biotch and is pretty promiscuous. Audrey is the complete opposite and he falls in love.

It’s a fun and cute read, and I liked it. I loved how nasty Kendra was and I just hope she’ll eventually get what’s coming to her. Horrible woman…

KU read, and I liked it a lot.

Wholesome!

This is nothing like Jaimie’s other books. It’s a genuine, sweet, innocent love story. Nothing like the sort of books I normally read - I like mine dark and twisted! But I still really enjoyed this. Not a completely new idea but a lovely take on it that had me hooked all the way through.

Sadly this was a case of the book not living up to the blurb. I couldn’t get my head around the body jumping that was weird and for a romance there was literally none. 2 stars

At first the book was too dry but once you cross 50% it was a journey which gives you goosebumps like a feeling and makes you wish you had an experience as such.

You know when a movie has like 4 endings and you’re wondering when it will just be over already?!
Yeahhhhhh that’s this book. The idea was ok, but it tried WAY too hard to draw emotions where there was serious lack of character development. Just bad.
