Bliss: Coach Yourself to Feel Great

Rate this book
BLISS! At last, a direct, funny, and engaging book on a subject that is dear to all of our hearts—happiness and fulfillment, whatever your age. Life isn’t always about how far you can go, or how high you can jump, or even how much money you can earn. It’s about recognizing when you feel content and knowing how to tap into those feelings, and embrace them to bring bliss into your life, however difficult the circumstances may be. Bliss may not change your life, make you popular with the opposite sex or promise you unbridled success in your career, but through its humor and practical, step-by-step guidance it challenges and enables you to experience a higher state of enjoyment. It lets you be whatever you want to be and makes you think. Presented in a down-to-earth, pragmatic and accessible way, this is a book you will love to read in private or in public.

I've read a number of self help/positive thinking books over the last few years and I had heard that this one, as well as offering some good advice, was meant to be rather humorous. Needless to say I was disappointed, and although some of the tips suggested to me may prove helpful in the months and years to come, I won't be picking this book up again.

This book gave me a huge headache. The overall preppy tone of the author was just plain annoying. How can anyone be expected to achieve bliss with all that perky blabbery in their heads? In the end, it was a waste of my time.
