Wicked Wick Mysteries #3

Kicking the Bouquet

Rate this book
Something Fall Haven has never seen much of is paparazzi. But with the impending destination wedding of movie star Hudson Smith-Jones to social media star Song Yu, the small town is filled to bursting with cameras, fans, and groupies, not to mention the families, wedding party, and apparently, a killer.

Leigh Hill and Paloma Finch at the Wicked Wick Candle Shop have been hired to create a signature "Scentstory" for the extravagant Yu-Smith-Jones affair. When one of the wedding party shows up dead in the middle of town, Leigh and Paloma must follow the olfactory clues to sniff out the killer -- a crazed fan, a jealous brother, or one of the stinking rich family members -- before someone else ends up pushing up daisies.

A wedding, a town full of social media influencers and a dead body. Not the greatest way to try and turn the small town charm of Fall Haven into hipster tourist money. The dead body of the maid of honor doesn’t put a damper in the wedding plans they are full speed ahead. The town is full of influencers, fans, hanger’s on, paparazzi and there is so much that is fake it’s hard to tell what’s real and what is a clue. But Leigh, Paloma, Jason are still going to try and solve this case, Sheriff Cole has even softened up on them helping a bit, if only because it seems these young influencers are so lonely posting about life not fully living it.
I really love this Scooby gang of friends/sleuths. They are all unique and complement each other’s strengths like true friends do. Great mystery love the twists! And absolutely love the Zing!.

I really enjoyed it!

Leigh is my favorite character, she makes me smile. No, Paloma is my favorite character, I relate to her the most. LOL. I guess I like them both for different reasons.

The mystery was well-plotted and the book was a joy to read. I can recommend this series to all cozy mystery lovers!

an invasion of social media influencers descends on the town as Leigh entered a contest to use it as s wedding venue for a Hollywood Heartthrob and his beauty product touting bride - and won.

young women with phones and dedicated commentaries are running around and their friends are an online collective.

various intrigue surrounds the wedding and pre wedding events, as well as many of the wedding party and local vendors.

hacking, murder, and a variety of jealousies swirl, while Leigh and Paloma sort out their work and dating lives, and assemble clues along the way.

Touching personal insights and moments, juxtaposed against camera ready faux life.

Really enjoyed this book - had to keep reading to see the end which I hadn’t guessed! There were love interests and humour along with the murder.

I would definitely recommend this book if you like cosy mysteries with murder, love and laughs.
