Saving a village didn’t give Gaeron Andel his freedom. A brother’s treachery still stains the family name.
As Nevil gains power, Gaeron is sent on quests to find magical artifacts. A cruel fate of the gods. What waits is out of nightmarish legends.
The dead desert holds secrets. Most are beyond imagination. Even the help of a powerful mage might not keep him alive.
Freedom comes with death.
The undead walk the desert. The village is rife with political turmoil. His traitorous brother plots and schemes. Time is running out.
Can Gaeron stop his brother before Nevilan tears down everything protecting the village from the nightmare beyond?
Rageborn is the book 2 in the Battleborn Trilogy, coming in 2022. Fans of The Witcher, Conan the Barbarian, and authors like Andy Peloquin, David Estes, AC Cobble, D.K. Holmberg, Christopher Mitchell, Jonathan Brazee, Michael Wisehart, and T.C. Edge enjoy the Battleborn series.
Paul Sating is a fantasy author and podcaster who spends most of his time traveling the Pacific Northwest in search of elusive monsters everyone claims aren't real.
The creator of the Audio Fiction podcast, Paul began adapting many of those scripts to novel form and published his first three books in 2018. He is now fooling around with his first love--dark fantasy. He writes epic, urban, and even litrpg (a trust jack of all trades and master of none).
He stays grounded by rooting for bad soccer teams, traveling around his beautiful corner of the world, and spending every moment he can with the three people who don't let him think too highly of himself--his wife and daughters.
Excellent read. Adventure fantasy. Great character development and intrigue a plenty. I am enjoying the Battleborn series and look forward to the next installment.
I highly recommend that you read this series from the beginning. You will not be disappointed.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a great story. If you're a fan of Conan type fantasy you'll love this. It's the second in the series So I'd advise you to read the first book, "Bloodborn" first. The characters are complex and interesting, the world is unique in several ways. There are enemies within and without. The author handles all the threads well holding your interest, providing plenty of action as you would expect from this type of fantasy. If you like primitive heroes with muscle you'll love this book.
This continues the story of two brothers, one strong and honest, and the other a snake in the grass. Reminds me a bit of Thor and Liki without the god powers. Story holds together nicely and the only problem with this book is the book after isn't published yet and it leaves you wanting to know what happens next. Nicely done, enjoyed the read!
