Back from the Abyssal Lands, life is looking pretty good from where Thorn sits. Firmly established as the Stone King, Thorn has added the throne of Rakkam, the Labyrinth City, to his growing holdings.
But not everyone is so satisfied with how the game is turning out and when a cursed staff leads Mina to disclose some of her tumultuous past, the team decides to head north. With a small team of some of the best players in the game, Thorn is off on a fast paced adventure to solve a murderous mystery left untouched for two decades.
Between an ancient Merfolk Sorcerer, the creeping threat of the corrupted dukes, and an army of evil Elemental Giants, Thorn and the team have their work cut out for them as they seek to discover the truth about the Witches of the Frozen North, and perhaps reveal the mystery of the Titans along the way.
Seth Ring's 9th book in the series and I'm not bored yet. Our hero Thorn keeps getting stronger while fighting ever greater obstacles. Also, his friends are getting stronger, both Mina, the ice witch, and Velin, the life mage.
Now the stakes are life and death, and the destruction of the world. They're all working to stave it off, but when you become betrayed by one of the nine Fates, how can you win?
What started as a fun, interesting story following a naive OP character has become boring. It is the same thing over and over. Same corruption, same betrayal, same fights. This ran out of originality several books ago.
OK I just want to say that the books are fun. I think its just too busy and all over the place and has plot hole gaps. The part where thorn has a quest for gladiator this is a plot hole. Oh needs more research .. the term is stand down not stand back, oh and fiy warlocks are not make witches as a witch can be male or female. A warlock is considered to be what is called an oath breaker being a bad thing.. There is so much more potential for this series but it gets lost.. Look at thorn omg you keep throwing stuff at him he has no focus or purpose ... He never gets a real chance to develop his skills its like oh we going to learn.. Oh bam Mina again seems to be there to say oh you don't have time for that or some event that constantly pops up from him to learn and with out mastery he is still in the barbarin mindset in a way just throw stuff at an enemy and just curious earth elemental right so why is there no magma. Next earth means more than dirt and rocks being connected to magma and life.. True essence of earth is more than that. I wish I had an opportunity to work on an series of books like these.. someone needs to proof read this stuff. Its easy to get lost in writing and find out you seceded up.I think there needs to be a tempo a flow to the story and too many people are rush rush don't give the hero time to hmm even brush his teeth. Oh and people keep calling it a game even though a great focus was put into calling it not a game but an alternate world.. You can't really have it both ways... Honestly if you wrote it differently you could have had 20 books not 10. Overall its good but too busy.
I have truly enjoyed this author especially the farmer series. This is my first series of this genre.
This Titan series was pretty great too (enjoyed the world building, very relatable characters, great adventures and maturing of characters) BUT two issues: 1. Include a list of books that came before in each of the series. It was hard for me to keep track of which book came before because there was no list, no prequel summary and no hint of previous events within the first chapter. I downloaded everything at once and sometimes, I wasn't sure which followed what. 2. The fight scenes were alot after a while. The recap of his abilities too became tiring and he basically stopped making mistakes.
I'll continue but now, I freely confess that once there's a fight scene, I skip over until it's done.
Man it was so nice to finally get the Titan quest line Thorn has been on for so long knocked out! As always our boy did some serious butt kicking, and got some progression during the book, but I almost feel like Mina stole the show this time! She gets some big upgrades during this book! One facet of this one I really enjoyed was some info regarding the nanites, and how Thorns in game activities are effecting how they interact with his body. We already knew there was some link there, but events in this book really showcase some interesting interactions and possibilities! Book 10 should be really interesting to see where things go next.
who were the Titans and where have they gone? Thorn still doesn’t know yet
I really enjoyed this book and series and the progression of Thorn/Xavier throughout the story. We watched him grow through the world and games of Nova Terra but he never has but a moments rest before a new challenge arises and he jumps again. We finally see things calm down somewhat and the team gets to pursue some of their own desires or to fix some of things holding them back. And of course Alph steaks the show as always, but I’m waiting for him to have side effects like a whole bunch of colors or of one color as a result of potions. 🤷🏻♂️ But blowing everything up in incredibly spicy ways works too!
After spending the last 2 weeks reading the current 9 books on offer I can easily say this one is my fav. It allows Thorn to get reacquainted with his love of adventure, he isn't stressed, worried pushed into a slot.... He is having fun adventuring with his friends, helping them become more, advancing the game collectively.
SPOILER AHEAD!!!! I will say I'm still waiting for his relationship with Valin to progress! Really arm holding! and the promise to be expensive for a long time to come? That was not satisfying at all!!!! And the next one sounds to be full of battle 😑 poor Thorn no love life for you mate
Overall the series started with a good premise but as things have progressed the series has gotten stale. While there is forward momentum for certain paths the battles and magic are getting monotonous and I just glaze over pages of a fight that really shouldn't take so long. I'm not sure if I were a MMORPG gamer I'd appreciate the raid boss fighting style and description more, but it just happens over and over and I've lost interest in most of the fights by now. I'm glad to see the quests are getting closer to being finished and we might be learning more so I'll keep going but the lack of two stars is me being tired of the long descriptive fighting that's not new or interesting.
The worst thing that can happen to a book is a constant repeat. Either the author doesn't know what an OP character is, or he is trying and failing to make a drama or sense of tension. When a good RPG player gets to that level of OP in the game, they get less damage, and some do play in no damage the whole game. However, in this series, it is the opposite way. The series talks about the incredible speed, technique, power, and so on... But it is just talk, and the reader can not see or imagine it. There are so many other problems that I can list here, but when the author doesn't care, why should I?
I kno, I know. Over 600 pages, it is a lot. And our good author has managed to pack a lot of awesome story progression into these pages. Time flew by and i did not want it to end. I laughed out loud from several of the situations and names of places in the book. Silently rooting for Veli and Thorn's little romance. Well, maybe not as silently as I pretend here. I got shushed several times by my other half in the middle the night. Apperantly I squealed out loud. More than once. Oops.
Its almost the same kind of journey with me with these books, where the first third I'm hooked, the second third is a bit of a trudge to get through, and the final third is so epic I'm chomping at the bits to read the next one.
The fight scenes in general have gotten a bit routine that I speed read them if not outright skip them, but the progression has been some of my favorite in the series, especially Thorn's and Mina's.
More bits about the characters would be awesome, and we got some of that, but I WANT MORE!
Only one more book left, so continuing on to see how it ends.
Not quite top tier story like the first two books in the series. Because overall it shares the grind characteristics of most MMORPG games - lots of repetition and standardized fights. The author once again went for easy word count even in the main story arc rather than more unique creativity similar to "pen and paper" RPG experience. In my opinion it would probably have been better if shorter story to just summarize the outcome of battles and events that just repeat the same well established battle techniques (boring).
Book 9 of Nova Terra:Titan. This book takes us finally to the Titan forge. We also really dig into Mina’s storyline. With one book left in the series, I am curious to see how we tie all of these together. The story is great and I can see how this turns into a spinoff series. By far Alph is my favorite character and am looking forward to reading the Mad Master Alchemist novel. If you are hesitating or looking for a series for someone, pick this whole series up, you won’t be disappointed.
So much happens in this book and so many quests are completed! Thorn and his team: free the Elves, save villages from corruption, save the Ware-bears, find the Great Forge, Learn about the fated Titan race, help Mina gain her destiny, OMG and more.
Every page was battles and challenges. I never wanted to put the book down. This was just an amazing read!
This story of a sick young man who is the richest person on earth going into a game while his body is being medically repaired was absolutely awesome. Glad I came late to this series and got to read nine books straight over a week. Looks like this wordsmith is starting a new series that’ll read soon.
Been really enjoying this series… will continue to do so. The I can finish the other series by the author. Already started reading before realizing this one came before on of the books I started. I love seeing a long series with many books. It means I have a solid week or two of reading without having to find a new one!
I only have one problem, I really don’t want this story line to end. I love the fact that more and more of the characters are getting involved in the storyline and plots. I am also glad that most questions and things started are answered. Please keep it up, it is a wonderful series!!! 😊
Would be 5 but: You get lazy; in your writing style, word choices. punctuation, and grammar. It appears you rely on computerized systems. For checking these things; rather than a person. But I guess if you’re making money, who cares right? That’s judgmental sarcasm. I case you missed it.
In store of some flaws any book with "stand back further or the back draft will suck you into the blast radius" in it gets all the stars!
Seriously, after this many books the blow by blow battle descriptions start to get boring. This one has enough character progression I skipped them and didn't give up.
I have to admit I was starting to get pretty bored with this series. It wasn't moving along a fast as I liked. But this book changed my mind. I loved the second half of the book so much and I can't wait to read the next book.
This was the first book that I thought got bogged down a bit in one area, but it was the culmination of two very important storylines that had fun and satisfying progression, plus that cliffhanger was great too. 👍🏾👍🏾
Just like any story that takes tons of novels to write as you get close to the end finally things start to come together in the story starts to pick up speed. This series is no exception. I find the writing excellent and the plot-line quite intriguing.
I like the twists that were foreshadowed in prior books. It tells me that the author has been planning an entire arc and not just making it up on the fly as success demanded more books. I am looking forward to the conclusion? in book 10.
I have much love for the Nova Terra series. This book was good but not the best by the author. I still appreciate it and loved the ending. Hoping the next comes with more of the character's personalities as the previous books.
The main character and his friends have become incredibly powerful. And now there is one more book to see where this all takes the story. Will he go to other worlds? Create new worlds? Save this one and retire?
At first, I thought this book was going to be a filler.. but ended up being an awesome adventure! Nice change of pace and brought us readers back into the genre. I'm so sad there's only one book left!
The pacing is beyond fast and things are developing so quickly it's hard to keep up sometimes! But things are building up to something and I'm excited to see how it goes.
I'm intrigued by the title "Endless Worlds." I also think Sylith is an idiot. I like how this followed Mina's power up. Thorn/Xavier showing a fear of physicality is understandable, and I wonder how the story will explore this.
Yoooo. I'm detecting a pattern. Seems like starting the plot with an overpowered MC means that eventually they and the world grow beyond earth. It's an interesting approach ngl. We have something similar in Solo Leveling. 🤔
