Not me sobbing over a crusty older man having his heart melted by a litter of stray kittens he rescues.

...oh wait, it's totally me. This is the gold standard for cat manga, full stop.

For me this volume was much better than the last one! Ohhh how I loved this story line! Not to mention the end makes me want to read volume eight right now, but I must wait until next May T_T. Anyways, if you haven't read this series yet, you should start reading it. This series is one of the few manga series I will read nowadays since I find myself kind growing out of the genre. But this one is special and I will probably always reread this one just like some of my other favorites. :)

This series is just perfect and I love it so much. Those little kitties were just too good. I was getting so choked up! I need to see the live action tv series, the upcoming anime adaptation, and I can't wait to see more of Fukumaru and Mr. Kanda's adventures.

The story in this volume is a bit redundant with that of Kanade Hibino, the previous pianist who hates Fuyuki Kanda but maybe just needs some cats in his life to get some perspective on his personal problems.

A new character introduced in the final pages has potential to make the next volume more interesting.

Box full of kittens!

This is pretty much how the book starts, with a famous pianist coming to see Mr. Kanda and finding a box of abandoned kittens on the way. Despite having been brought up with no animals, and not being allowed to interact with them even momentarily, he can’t leave them to die in the rainstorm. So he shows up at Kanda’s door with five little kittens in his arms…

The book isn’t entirely kittens, though. The serious thread in this one is about how a person’s upbringing can shut them off from having friends. How even though a parent thinks they are doing the best thing for their child, it can have unpleasant consequences. And how parents and children should take a chance and actually talk things out.

I probably enjoyed this book more than any except the first volume. I mean, boxful of kittens!

Returning to this manga series is always a joyful event for me. Every volume has an equal amount of humor and emotion, making it a heartwarming and relaxing story to follow. And, of course, there's just so many cats!!

In this particular volume, we get to know Geoffroy and his story as a pianist, as well as a lonely child. However, even this cranky musician couldn't resist the charm of kitties! His rescue of the five kittens was emotional and touching and it truly felt like a turning point for him, which I really enjoyed! I'm also glad the author gave us a chapter about his father and his feelings, it allows the reader to understand the overall picture of the dynamic between father and son! I hope they can heal from now on!

I like this series so much because it is exactly about this: healing. No matter if it is through music, your friends or due to a cute kitty that ended up in your life... you can heal and turn bad situations around! And this is why I feel like this is a hopeful and beautiful story.

Finally, it was super nice to read more about Kanda and Fukumaru's adventures, now joined by Marin while Hibbing is away for a concert. Their mini chapters are super fun to read and help break tension in the story, which is now even more serious! I love this old man and his cat, honestly, what a great series!

I can't wait to read the next volume, especially as we get to finally meet Kanda's daughter!! She seems like an eccentric personality, so I'm quite curious to see how this plays out!!

So beautiful!!! 😭😭 Geoffroy is such an interesting character with a very sad story with a super touching end! This volume had me laughing and crying non stop! Loved seeing his connection to the kittens he rescued being the change he needed to connect with the people around him and grow to open up as a person! Love how positive everyone’s relationships become with the help of the cats in their lives!

ini tuh komik yang hangat, super hangat. tapi kenapa tiap baca selalu bikin nangis? iya emang nangis bahagia. tapi ttp aja nangis.

kayak all i want in a simple life tuh ada. keseharian yg sederhana, kucing di manamana, hidup penuh dengan seni, kebaikan hati Kanda, semuanya, indah, memukau.

p.s. elex bisa buruan ga volume volume selanjutnya diterjemahin, i need this Kanda centric as my daily basic like how you being so beautiful, sensei.

I would've gave this a four star except they put ads in the comic for the TV show for this comic. Bad taste. Besides that bump in the road, the story was great as usual as well as the graphics. Geoffrey who is Kanda's old piano friend is coming to visit and along the way he finds unwanted kittens. Well of course, he has to rescue them and bring them over to Kanda's house! Love the kittens!

Jemand der fünf kleine Babykätzchen nicht im Regen sitzen lässt, kann gar kein böser Rivale sein ;w; die Kittens waren so unfassbar niedlich. Damit kriegen wir ein wenig mehr HIntergrund zu Geoffroy zu sehen und seinem schwierigen Verhältnis zu seinem eigenen Vater.
Aber Katzen machen immer alles besser und es ist immer noch so herzerwärmend, hach ;W;
