The Fortuna Dare Society: a Book Club for Men. What happens at book club doesn't necessarily stay at book club.

Welcome to Fortuna, Texas where the men are dared to love as big as they live. The men of widower Brad Davidson's book club, the Fortuna Dare Society, are dared to act out a trope, setting, and character with a significant other.

That poses a problem for Brad, who hasn't had serious relationship in over twenty years.

He likes the town librarian, but it might not amount to anything more than a strange, costume-staged-musically-enhanced meal.

Then again, he married the last woman he went out of his way to date.

Rochelle Bradley

Rochelle puts an artistic spin on everything she does but there are two things she fails at miserably:
1. Cooking (seriously, she can burn water)
2. Sewing (buttons immediately fall back off)

She loves baking and makes a mean BTS (Better than Sex) cake. When in observation mode she is quiet, however, her mouth is usually open with an encouraging glass-is-half-full pun or, quite possibly, her foot.

She is a Bearcat, a Buckeye, an interior decorator, and fluent in sarcasm.

Rochelle shares her home with a big black cat, an itty-bitty orange tiger kitty, her daughter, her son, and her Prince.

She loves to connect with readers. You can find her on Facebook (search for Author Rochelle Bradley), Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram.

This is a great introduction to the author & characters. I found the main characters, Brad & Ophelia, to be very interesting. I also really enjoyed the setting as a Librarian myself.

I love the antics of this town and am super excited about this series. I loved Brad's dare and can't wait to see what happens with the rest of this ornery book club members. I am over the moon excited with the thoughts of what is to come.

This book is the started of a series. Sort of a prequel.
As such, it was short. Maybe too short.
This made the story seemed rushed. The story was sweet, but it was hard to relate to the characters as I felt I did not know them long enough.
The narrator did a good job.
I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is book 1 in Bradly's new series The Fortuna Dare Society. A short, sweet romance read. I loved the concept of this storyline and I thought this was a great intro to the concept and characters but somehow it just fell flat for me. I loved the characters and the narration was pretty good but I thought it would have been so much better with a dual narration and idk, it didn't feel rushed but the flow seemed off to me. I would have liked a bit more depth into the characters as well. Overall it was a good, quick read / listen but I think there is so much more potential there for a guys book club that reads and acts out romance. Such a great idea!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.

I absolutely love the concept of a book club for men where they actually have to act things out. This definitely leads to some very sweet and comical moments. I do look forward to seeing when this series goes.

I thought that both the author, Rochelle Bradley, and the narrator, Dan Levy, did a nice job. The story was interesting and the performance kept me entertained.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Brad is the first story in The Fortuna Dare Society. A group of men form a book club that tasks them to read books that help them understand women. In this one Brad is dared to act out a scene in Beauty and the Beast with the woman he is interested in. It was cute and often funny but with the shorter length it was tough to get to know the characters. It was a good intro to the series, however.

The narrator did a good telling the story. I give the story a 3.5. A cute quick story of a bunch of guys all different ages get together for book club and they one up it by trying to reenact genre's and tropes.

What a fabulous premise for this series. Enjoyed this first read by Rochelle Bradley. Brad is a seasoned romance……something we don’t get enough of. A short sweet story. The narrator was fun with his twang

This is a short and quick read, or listen, that is so much fun and entertaining. I want to be part of the "Fortuna Dare Society" book club. Very interesting and intriguing to act out scenes in books. The guys are now hooked in romance and the women are loving every minute of it. These men get creative. This is one is about Brad, Ophelia, the librarian, and a little Beauty and the Beast. This one had me laughing out loud with the craziness but it is also sweet and touching. Brad gets a second chance at love. The narrator did a good job with all the different characters.

Book Club Dare....

This is a great short read. This book club is mostly men. They asked a few women to join. Brad is one of the guys. Ophelia is a librarian they asked to join. I love the dare they gave Brad. Such an enjoyable book! From a True Fan... Pam James.
So I read this again and thoroughly enjoyed it!
