My name is Chloe Preston. I came to Cougar Creek as a cop and ‘died in the line of duty’ when I got tangled up with a coven of witches. I’d asked for the transfer. I needed to get away from the lonely grind of my life. But now I’ll never escape this mess. As if that isn’t bad enough. This coven of witches is real. Like they really have powers and apparently, they’ve been fighting against an evil power that is trying to make its way through the cemetery. And I’m the one who is supposed to help them do that. Or better yet, do it for them. Now I must do creepy vampire things to help save not just the coven, but humanity. The only problem I’m having is that I can’t decide between saving humanity and the bartender with the golden eyes who seems likely to whisk me away at any moment. Being middle-aged has taught me one thing; you must seize the day, the time, and the guy you have. Because even as a vampire, you never know what the future holds.

When Chloe first came to Cougar Creek as the Sheriff’s Deputy, it was to get away from her other police job. To get away from the loneliness of being tied to her job, without a family of her own . Little did she realize she would become blood bond sisters, in a coven protecting a cemetery from something evil.

Midlife Vampire Unexpected is the fourth book in Melle Amade’s Cougar Creek Coven series. If you guessed that Chloe was going to be the next to join this eclectic coven of middle-aged women then you guessed right. Deputy Chloe is like a dog with a bone, and letting go of a case just isn’t in her to do. So, despite her mind being influenced in book three, she pursues a theory that leads her to Xavier. A choice that forever alters her life.
Midlife Vampire Unexpected sees Chloe becoming the next vampire and the one who inherits the blood pact that binds her to the coven. Chloe had no idea that the attack by Xavier would lead to all of this, but she’s determined to continue living her life. Granted, the coven is going to require quite a bit of her time as things are about to get really chaotic. Rar’goth is still on the loose, there is still a bounty on Bianca’s head, and the threats to the cemetery just keep coming. The good news though? They are getting some answers as to who is behind the attacks and why. Now? They just need to find the rest who are meant for the coven so that they can stop the evil from bringing destruction.
This book has some good elements to it. Chloe is an okay character, but I honestly question her capabilities as a cop a few times. I mean she is really quick to pull her gun, and it causes me to raise my eyebrows. The one particular scene I say that for is at the hot spring. Anyone could have been there other than who she was looking for. I didn’t think she needed to be “Quick Draw McGraw.” It also seemed like the author couldn’t quite decide on Chloe’s story or appearance. First she’s got brown hair with gray eyes, then blonde hair with brown eyes. Then she’s 42, then 44, then 45. I kept waiting on a set age. Finally, she was married, but her husband left her because of something out of her control. But then she’s not had sex since college? When was this? It all just seems really all over the place like the author really didn’t know where they were going with things.
The story is okay, but it’s pretty flawed, too. The romance angle is rushed, but it’s been that way with all of them. I’m rating this book 3.5 out of 5 stars. Chloe is probably my least favorite of the group right now. I guess we’ll see where the story goes from here.

Midlife Vampire Unexpected is the fourth book in the Cougar Creek Coven series by Melle Amade and is a fun continuation of all the happenings and mischief and mayhem that PV urs in this mystical town full of paranormals.
Deputy Chloe is our main heroine in this story and as we caught a glimpse in the last story, she is determined to see a case all the way through and doesn’t know when to stop investigating…which is a trait that will lead to a major life altering event for our dedicated officer.
Without giving any spoilers away, though personally I think it was easily foreseen, Chloe is now entangled deep with the coven and of course life can’t be that easy for any of them with Rar’goth on the loose, unexpected changes, unplanned romances, bounties being places on heads, continual threats to the coven members and the cemetery and way more questions than answers popping up!
This story is just as delightful as the others and I love how our crew of unlikely misfits keeps growing and how they have to work together for the common good of the town, the cemetery and to basically stop the big bad evil from destroying all that they know.
Overall this was the perfect addiction to this fun series and I can’t wait to see where the next few books take us as other “missing” members of the coven finally are revealed.

Chloe came to Cougar Creek as a human. But one situation gone wrong put her into the supernatural world, and luckily or not, made her inherit a place in the local coven. Forced to take in everything in stride at high speed, Chloe joins forces with Mae, Bianca, and Jane in the mad quest to stop those who are behind the attacks on the cemetery - but the first question is, who the hell is behind it?
As much as the installments in this series are woven together to create one story, so are the coven members unique. Chloe is completely different with her attitude and personality yet fits right into the bunch of misfits that the coven consists of. Her weird and dynamic relationship with her savior Antonio is also a great part of the story, and especially watching them gradually accept each other for what and who they are was exhilarating. I am much curious where would we go in the next book with our heroines.

This book 4 in the series. Each book concentrates on a different woman but you definitely need to have read them in order to know what is going on.
The coven is still trying to protect the cemetery at The Estate, each member trying to help out in their own way. When cop Chloe ends up being turned into a vampire, she is pulled into the coven too.
I have to admit, I wasn't feeling the vibes between Antonio and Chloe, they were nothing and then bam, they were together without any kind of build up.
The overall story is definitely keeping me reading. There is still so much we clearly don't know and each new member is bringing their own problems, issues and solutions. Still puzzles me how so many newbies seem to have all the answers though.
Four members have now been found, but there are still two more to find to complete the blood bonds needed to protect the cemetery.

This is the fourth book in this series, and each book gets better and better. This book is about Deputy Chloe, and she is fun. I wish we had gotten to know Antonio a bit better, but to be fair, this series is more about the women than the men. Speaking of that, I love how they are all working together to protect the town and the cemetery. We now know the identity of the fifth member, and I’m excited to read that one soon. This is a quick, interesting read with interesting characters and a fun series. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

When Chloe was introduced in Midlife Psychic Unexpected, I knew she would be kick-a** character in one of the upcoming books. I just didn't expect it to come as the next book or as a VAMPIRE! Chloe is such a strong, fierce character that for her to fall victim to a vampire made the story so alluring to me as a reader. I love Cougar Creek so much and finding a really bada** character like Chloe in the mix make me squeal like a fan girl. This series just keeps getting better and better. I wish I could give it ten stars!

Melle Amade made the characters suspend disbelief in Midlife Vampire Unexpected. As each piece of the puzzle snaps into place, the series gets more and more interesting.

Book 4 in Amade's Cougar Creek Coven series. I love, love, love this series. Each book in the series focus' on a different woman but this is a series that should really be read in series order as they are interconnected. This is Chloe's story. The local cop who turns into a vampire and becomes part of the coven. A quick read - I wish there was more build up on Chloe and Antonio but I love all these women and can't wait for more!

This is a great addition to this fun series. This time we get to know Chloe who left her job as a cop in the big city to start over. Now in Cougar Creek she is working as a Deputy. Little did she know that she would find her own created family in the local coven as well as the possibility for romance? Anything can happen in Cougar Creek which is half the fun. Makes for quite the fun read. I can't wait to see who is next. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

Story arc is hotting up
Following her introduction in the last book, it's now time for Chloe's story. A very human deputy, she ends up joining the coven in a very unexpected way! This story ties up a lot of loose ends from the previous books and puts us on a path for the end game. Chloe reminds me of Donna in Supernatural, who was one of my favourite characters, and I took to her immediately. As usual, we also meet the next heroine in this book, and I can't wait to discover her story!

I was drawn in immediately. And much like I suspect it is for the members of the Cougar Creek coven, this whole adventure was surprise after surprise and revelation after revelation to me. Through Chloe’s eyes, we learn so much more about this new supernatural world. But with every new piece of information uncovered, comes even more questions. I can’t wait to find out what’s going to happen next.

This is such a good series! Deputy Chloe is following up on a lead when the creepy old man she is searching for attacks her and the next thing she knows is she is a vampire! Although there is romance involved the story mostly revolves around the plot that is woven through the whole series and the whole story is really coming together now. Although for each question that is answered more questions appear! Really enjoying this series

This series just keeps getting better and better! I am so glad that Chloe is our FMC now., i have liked her character in the other books in the series and was thrilled to learn this story was about her. Even better is the fact that she is a newly turned Vampire!! I love this author and how all of our FMC in this series are more ripened lol. She has a way of using her writing style to draw you into Cougar Creek and makes you want to live their as well. I can not wait to read the next one!

Family you make
Chloe is struggling to fit in after her move to Cougar Creek. A poor decision changes her whole life and opens her eyes to some unexpected benefits. I loved that she was still doing her job but straddling the lines between new life and old life. I hope she gets to connect with the next coven member like she wanted in the next book.

Excellent installment in the series. The FMC is unexpectedly turned into a vampire and becomes part of the supernatural group if midlife ladies and the men that surround them. The drama continues to build and the action is exciting. Thoroughly enjoyable read and looking forward to more. Definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed this book. It was an amazing read that took me away from my everyday life for a few hours. It moves along at a speed which is perfect for the flow of this story. It has amazing characters that you will love and will want to know more about and a story that keeps you interested and reading till the end. This book is a must read, no doubt about it.

This book was my favorite of the series so far! The FMC is so bada$$! I was hoping she would be the vampire when I saw her in the last book and was thrilled to get her back! A great read even if you haven’t read the others, as the author does a phenomenal job of catching readers up at the beginning

This is one boook in a series and I love the idea of regular people finding out that they are not what they were and being accepted in a group all trying to figure out their new existence and new found mission. I cannot wait to see what's next for the Coven. I recommend this book and series for a good escape to the paranormal.

It was great getting to see Chloe again and find out more about her character and what she is doing now as a vampire. She is such a strong MFC and her interactions with the other characters and her man were humorous and interesting. This was a super fun read and a great addition to the Cougar Creek Coven series! I can't wait to read the next book!

I loved Chloe’s story! I really enjoyed the fact that she’s a good cop, and fiercely independent. So happy that she found herself a place to belong with the Coven who became her chosen family. Her situation with Antonio - very cute! And oh so hot!

It is a series and quickly becoming a favorite of mine. This one is about Chloe and her life takes a turn she as a cop didn't expect. She thought to have a quiet life but boy is she in for a ride with fae, werewolves and other creatures. I truly advise you to read this series as a whole and not read an individual book. Very well written and snorts of laughter are a sure thing.

Midlife Vampire Unexpected by Melle Amade is the fourth book in the Cougar Creek Coven Series and as with all the rest I absolutely loved it!!! Chloe is a welcome addition to our ever-growing coven and despite her wanting to live a more peaceful life, gets drawn into the chaos that is Cougar Creek. I honestly hope this series keeps coming up with new material because I'm definitely a fan!!!

Another great book in the Cougar Creek series. Chloe is trying to get away from the loneliness she feels in her current day to day life but in the crazy turn of events during one evening her eyes get opened to a whole new world.
This was full of fun, mystery, drama and really well written characters. Highly recommend.

We are back in Cougar Creek and this time it’s Chloe’s story and she is such a bad ass! A mid 40’s cop who ‘dies’ in the line of duty and becomes a vampire. Say what?? It’s a great story, it’s a fun story, it’s a little chaotic and exciting and I absolutely loved it. I adore this series, I adore its characters and I adore visiting Cougar Creek.
