Lucas Bennett hasn’t been able to catch a break lately.
At the top of his growing list of disasters is the ongoing feud with Jake, his former best friend. It hasn’t helped that the two are also prospects competing against each other for the single spot with the Savage Kings MC.
Lucas thought his luck was finally changing after he makes a courageous rescue, saving a beautiful woman from two huge guards and the evil man holding her hostage.
But, as it turns out, he screwed up and saved the wrong woman.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, the girl he helped escape just so happens to be the younger sister of the club’s current enemy.
Taryn Hawthorne is fed up with being locked away from the world her entire life and treated like a child. Even her future has been decided without her approval. In two months, she’ll be forced to marry a man she’s never met. So, when a stranger shows up and offers her a way out, she jumps at the chance.
Once Taryn is free, she insists that she’ll never return home. That decision could very well start a war between her family and the Savage Kings MC.
Lucas didn’t sign up to be anyone’s babysitter, and yet, he’s stuck not only protecting Taryn but making sure she doesn’t run away, all with one simple warning – don’t lay a finger on her. She’s a handful, trying to fit twenty years of confinement out of her system in a matter of days. Worst of all, Taryn won’t stop trying to seduce Lucas, tempting him with what he can’t have. He’s still getting over a broken heart and isn’t ready to get burnt again even if she wasn’t off-limits.
When the Kings find out that the man Taryn is supposed to marry is looking for her, killing anyone who gets in his way, she’s terrified of being a prisoner once again. Lucas vows to keep her safe, and not just because it’s his job.
It may be the biggest challenge of his life, but he can’t fathom losing her.
Lane Hart is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, D.B. West, and their two children. She loves all things beach related, especially sea turtles, and is a huge fan of the Carolina Panthers.
What a wild ride! Lucas and Taryn are perfect for each other! The story was a completion of a story arc that was adventurous and full of mystery. Though things started of rocky between the two, things change when Taryn remembers something from her past. Make sure you read Jake and Kellen's stories to get the full picture, you won't be disappointed.

We have Lucas and Taryn side of the story. Lucas has always thought he would have no one after Leighton admits to loving Jake over him. Taryn has always been a prisoner in her own home so she can marry and unknown person. You will be shocked what you learn in this book. Can't wait to see what is going to happen with Leo next and where the spin-off with Kellen goes.

Loved Lucas and Taryn together. Lucas mistakenly kidnaps Taryn but Taryn never wants to return to her sheltered life. An attraction grows between these two and Lucas feels he needs to protect her. There are twists and turns in this story that I never expected. I strongly recommend this action packed series
While Lucas can be read as a stand-alone, it is best enjoyed after reading "Jake" and "Savage Prince."
In this installment of the Savage Kings series, Lucas can't seem to do anything right. Still nursing a broken heart after Leighton chooses Jake over him (again), constantly fighting with his best friend, and possibly being close to losing the found family that is the Savage Kings, he feels like a total screw up. Attempting to rescue Leighton's friend from a perceived hostage situation, he can't believe how he messed up once again by saving the wrong woman.
Taryn has been cloistered her entire life. She's been basically kept under house arrest by her father - always followed by bodyguards, rarely allowed to leave the house, with every aspect of her life controlled from her diet to what she reads. When Lucas shows up and incapacitates her bodyguards, she sees it as a chance to escape her lonely life and get a chance to live. Once she's free, she's determined never to go back. Too bad that the man she is to be given to on her 21st birthday won't let her go that easily and is willing to kill anyone in his way to get what he wants.
Lucas is a good man at heart. He may be a rough biker prospect, but he values those nearest and dearest to him. He's willing to do what it takes to protect them. When Leighton's friend McKayla is taken, he's the one that steps up to attempt a rescue. As he learns more about Taryn's life to date, he wants to give her the experiences she craves while keeping her safe. Even though he's just met her, Lucas's protective instincts won't allow her to be hurt. He's at war with himself - while Taryn continues to try to seduce him, Lucas fights for self-control to protect her from the dangers around her as well as himself.
At first, Taryn seemed to be extremely self-centered and uncaring. While Lucas was a sympathetic character from the outset of the story, it took a while for Taryn to reveal all that had happened in her past to make her so desperate to fight for her freedom, sometimes at the expense of others. As more of past is revealed, some descriptions of emotional abuse and confinement might be a difficult read for some.
Lucas and Taryn have a strong chemistry. Taryn's naivete can be a bit amusing at times, as she finally begins to be exposed to the real world and struggles to be taken seriously as an adult. Not only are Lucas and Taryn fighting the demons from their past, they are also at the center of the mystery of the identity of the man hunting for Taryn. The mystery is solved by the end of the book and the twists and turns that the story takes will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens. The resolution of the mystery is surprising and original. A really good read.
Four and half stars for the MC mystery/romance.

OK guys, here's the thing. Everyone knows that I love MC and Mafia books, and when I have a book that includes both genres... Oh lord have mercy... I'm on cloud nine and everyone should know why. Lane Hart and DB West have created this amazing MC series and each book keeps making this series even better. Their writing is raw and wild, intense, dark, and super hot. I kid you not, hot as hell. Lucas is their latest release and it's the eleventh book from this series. Have you read any books from the Savage Kings, South Carolina charter? If you have, you know what I'm talking about, but if you haven't, I advise you to read the entire series from the beginning. If you can't, read Jake, then Savage Prince, and only then this book. This book explores the lives of Lucas and Taryn. Lucas is the prospect for the Savage Kings. Currently, he's fighting with his former best friend, the chance to patch in. What's even more though is that he's on the run with his former best friend. When on a rescue mission he saves the wrong girl... Taryn has lived a sheltered life since always. Her father promised her hand in marriage to a stranger. Her only goal is to run away, far far away from this situation to start a new life. To find a Prince Charming, with his white horse to ride into the sunset. When she's taken by a biker, she thought that she would be free but... Stunned... I was left stunned by this book that I can't find the proper words to describe it. Stellar plot, well written, super engaging, and intense. I had so many questions that needed answers. I wanted to know so much that I kept reading good and reading. You'll be just like me once you read this entire series. If you don't want to, a decision that I know you'll regret, read Jake, then The Savage Prince, and only then read this book. You'll see why. The level of suspense for this book was so thick, that my mind was working on overdrive seeking answers. Who? Why? When? Those types of questions. And when the truth was revealed... Oh boy. I didn't see that coming. The story progressed smoothly, with lots of suspense, danger, and hot stuff... Oh yeah... The hot scenes... My oh my. It was amazing to have news from the other Savage Kings, I really missed them. But now this book is over, and I really wanted to keep reading. I really did because the characters worked perfectly with each other and the way everything happened made me eager to have more. I really loved this book and I can't wait for the next one. Please Lane and DB. Don't take too long to give me the next one...
After reading Jakes book, followed hot on the heels by Savage Prince, I could not wait for Lucas’s story knowing that we would finally get our answers including about the evil Krampus. (Boy the combination of restrictions that he and her father put in place on Taryn’s life were awful. It’s no wonder she wanted an out). Lucas’s story begins more or less when he rescued/kidnapped McKayla/Taryn in Jake’s book. Out of all the Kings, he is the one that spends time with her, really talks to Taryn, learns her story, her fears, her hates. Fast forward to to mass bombings of the clubhouses and the Kings are settled on an island only really known to the Kings. They’ve started to realise, thanks to Taryn, that Krampus could be behind this, just as Kellen put it together in Savage Prince. Bug awareness discovered, Lucas meets with Kellen outside and they agree that Taryn is safer staying with the Kings, for the time being. Taryn and Lucas work together trying to figure things out, as well as their sexuality. They have different experiences between them, but they’re learning other things about each other too. It’s goes from naive, innocent, romantic, to red hot passionate. Kellen doesn’t need to know about that any of that though ;-) This was a brilliant read. It ties all three books together with a savage bow, answering questions we’ve been patiently waited for. It does not disappoint. Well written, creative and entertaining throughout. You can read it as a standalone but you would miss out and be doing the authors a disservice. Excellent.
I absolutely adore this Series. I have often referred to D.B. West and Lane Hart as a power couple and it still holds true to this day.
While I have read each release/installment to The Savage Kings MC, I couldn't of enjoyed everything about this installment more. Lucas has been a prospect for the MC for years and, now, it is decision time. Between his former best friend, Jake, and himself. Only one can have a place at the Kings table and it is up to them to figure it out. However, Lucas is certainly preoccupied by a specific woman, he just happens to be keeping hostage, the beautiful Taryn. As Lucas goes above and beyond for The Kings, he is currently tasked with solving a deadly mystery, keeping Taryn safe all while battling his growing feelings for Taryn.
Taryn has been sheltered and treated as a prisoner for her entire life. A case of mistaken identity removes her from a bad situation and places her in a much more dangerous one. Now, relying on the one man she shouldn't be lusting after, Taryn just wants to live her life in peace, while becoming the woman SHE wants to be. Whether or not that includes the delectable Lucas is to be determined... Or is it fated?
One thing is for sure, you're going to love their journey together.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Lucas in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion.
I strongly recommend reading this installment, as well as the entire Series, as a whole. I can not wait to see what The Savage Kings MC gets up to next.
By this point in the series, I wanted Lucas to find his own HEA soo badly!! And for things to settle down for this Club.
(Not sure what I'm talking about? Start at the beginning of this series- with Roman). You will looove this MC! Each member of this club is great on their own, but together? They are very capable, loyal, and everything we want and need in our book boyfriends! *wink*
These two talented and creative authors consistently provide engaging stories full of all the things we LOVE in an MC romance read. I could not put this book down once I began, as the pages turned themselves. I do not leave spoilers, so I can't share my favorite part, but this was suspenseful, with several twists and was nice and steamy! I loved it!!
Obviously, I'm a fan of this series and these authors. I enjoy all the characters in this club but Lucas and Taryn are two of my favorites. They are adorable...I am glad I jumped at the chance to get a free ARC from Booksprout, and am (happily) voluntarily leaving my review.
I strongly recommend reading this series in order. Additionally, you should also know the backstories and characters from the "original" Savage Kings MC series (beginning with Chase). Knowing those characters will make this one even better. Really.
I highly recommend these books. The authors are on my list of "one-click, no questions asked" purchases, and this rewards me with wonderful reads. I look forward to reading Leo next!!
I think I am in love with Lucas! He’s not your typical “biker” per se. He’s not innocent by any means, but he has an innocence to him when it comes to Taryn. Taryn is Kellen’s baby sister. (the one who was engaged to Leighton in Jake’s story). Taryn is about to turn 21 and has been sheltered her whole life – she has never been able to make any decisions for herself and has never had the freedom to do anything. She was to be kept pure for her arranged marriage to some old guy she didn’t even know. When Lucas accidentally takes Taryn thinking she is McKayla, the games begin!
Taryn will go to just about any length to make sure she doesn’t get returned to her family. Lucas and Taryn have an attraction to each other, but Lucas knows he cannot touch her. When things start to go south and Taryn and Lucas are hiding out, things come to light and memories start coming back to Taryn. Will these memories help them figure out who is out to get rid of the Hawthorne family and the Savage Kings?
Lots of action, drama, secrets, deception, and trust come into play during this story. Once again, another great story in this series and I cannot wait to read Leo’s story next.

A sublime five-star read. This is number eleven in the Savage Kings MC South Carolina series and is leading us beautifully to Leo’s story. Lucas Bennett had tears in my eyes, the table discussion and what that leads to, was so beautifully done, the love between brothers is what brings this whole series to life, the fact that these two can create a bunch of rough men who have that amazing softness for each other as well as the ladies they love, it warms me to the very bottom of my heart. Taryn Hawthorn wasn’t someone I warmed to at first, but as we got to know her and her history, it made her more real, more rounded and I was so happy with how the story progressed for her. The twist and who the Krumpus is, man that kept me hooked, my jaw dropped!! I didn’t have an inkling and usually I am the one who has an idea from the start and then goes in ten directions, this one I didn’t even have a clue! A very good story for the series and now I am just excited to hear from Leo, as Lucas has been through lots, and deserves his wings, but I need to hear about Leos now.
I didn’t exactly have the best opinion of Lucas after reading Jake’s book. Even though I did feel bad for him and I’m definitely glad at how it all worked out in the end, he made some horrible choices that he knew would impact his friendship with Jake. While reading this book, I feel like Lucas had redeemed himself and I found him very easy to like. He had done very sweet moments with Taryn.
I liked Taryn. I felt for her and how she was treated by her father. She was obviously very sheltered and naïve. I thought she had some ridiculous moments that I felt were authentic with her character and her upbringing.
I loved that while keeping her safe, Lucas tried to give her as much freedom as possible. I did not see the twist coming at all!!! Definitely added another layer to the story.
I can’t wait to read Leo’s book next!.

The continuing story of Lucas kidnapping Taryn instead of McKayla & the disastrous consequences that follow. As Lucas made the mistake, he's in charge of 'babysitting' Taryn who happens to be more than a handful in wanting to experience the outside world, including food & a 'how to' checklist (seduce Lucas, lose virginity, etc.). She's so full of questions & doesn't stop talking but he has the patience to answer them. Two inexperienced people thrown together in finding what they like to do best while awaiting for the truth to come out.
Recommend reading the 2 previous novels of Jake & Savage Prince as this novel is more in-depth of Lucas' & Taryn's fears, protectiveness, enjoying life while the others try to figure out the attacks on each other's families. Lots of heat, tenderness, happiness & a twist that you won't see coming!

Lucas is the eleventh wonderful book in the Savage Kings MC - South Carolina series. Each book builds on the story of this motorcycle club, giving us insight into the individual characters while building on the story of the MC as a whole. It is a phenomenal story in that it deals with the innocence of some of the characters and how the MC works hard to protect that innocence. Of course, there is a cross-over with the Hawthorne family story that is adventurous, relevant, and engaging.
Lucas is an engaging and compelling book that leaves you wanting more from this series with a bunch of MC action, drama, twists, suspense, mysteries, romance, and more. Lucas is an engaging and compelling book that leaves you wanting more from this series!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This book is the 11th book in the Savage King's MC: South Carolina series. This book should be read after Jake (10th book) and Savage Prince (spin off). Taryn has been sheltered her whole life. Her every move has been monitored along with the food she eats and what she watches. She's not allowed to leave the house. So when Lucas thinks that she is Makayla and kidnaps her she doesn't correct him. It's her chance at freedom. Lucas has stuck babysitting his mistake. She is so annoying with all the questions but he is patient with her and gives her the answer she needs. Can she really be this innocent? This is action packed and has a major twist that I didn't see coming. And it's so steamy it will have your kindle fogging up. I absolutely loved this series and can't get enought of these cut wearing bad boys.
Wow this book was amazing but be sure to read Jake and also Kellens book before reading this otherwise you will.miss out on crucial information. Poor Taryn has been sheltered and pretty much been locked away in the mansion awaiting her 21st birthday when she was to be given to the man her father had arranged for her to be married too. And boy that whole senerio was jam packed with info you will never see coming.Taryn is just lucky that she has Lucas looking out for her and not babying her like her family has been. The chemistry between these two is off the charts Taryn certainly makes sure that Lucas knows that she wants things to go further between them..I'm kinda glad that he himself is just as inexperienced as she is in that regard.I can't recommend this book enough or this series it has most certainly been a fun ride and can't wait to read anymore that are left.
I am so happy with the end of this story arc! Some of the book runs concurrently with the previous two books. Lucas knows how badly he has messed up in the past. I love where he and Jake are now. Some of their discussions are a riot, like when Jake is giving him “instructions” because Lucas lacks some experiences. Lucas tries to be a good guy with Taryn, even when she keeps trying to get him to not be good. But he can only take so much. She is beyond naive, needing to experience life without being in a gilded cage. He wants that for her, but also lacks confidence that he could be something she wants to keep. They do not help each other in letting the other know they want to be kept. I really liked that he taught her to help herself.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
If you have not read JAKE and Savage Prince prior to this book you may not enjoy it as much as the story of the three book are intertwined. Lucas and his former best friend Jake have to decide which of them get patched into the Savage Kings. Not only that but Jake got the girl that broke their friendship.
Trying to do a good deed, he goes to rescue McKayla from the clutches of Leighton's ex, only to finds out he grabbed Kellen's sister instead. Taryn is tired of being locked up and treated like a child. She wants to experience life, decide her own fate. She jumps into the van with Lucas.
I loved Lucas, there are parts of him that are just as innocent as Taryn. The part where he goes to Jake is so cute. Jake will go all out to protect Taryn from the mystery man that is coming for her.
I received an Advance Readers Copy of this book with no obligation to write a review.
I received this book for Free to Give My True & Personal Review.
Wow Lucas & Taryn's story is a long but quick connection between them, ESPECIALLY after the Clubs are All blown up & they're alone together when Jake & Leighton aren't on top of them and Lucas is UNABLE to say NO to Her. Lucas & Kellan do start working together to try & 'find' the assassin & destructor. But Taryn's childhood memories start to come back to help the path to find out whom this man is whom Taryn's been promised to. They got that it's someone RIGHT UNDER The Hawthorne's noses right but the wrong one & you'll be surprised & shocked on whom it is and we see how much more inner strength Taryn has to save herself. Loved it & looking forward to see them in the future 'episodes' of The Savage Kings MC.

He can't win for trying....until he really goes all in with Taryn
Lucas is the eleventh book in the Savage Kings MC - South Carolina series. This story is about Taryn Hawthorne and Lucas Bennett. I quite enjoyed this forbidden romance which at times made me laugh, blush, clutch my chest and hold my breath. Both characters are well developed with depth, emotion, passion, and in Taryn's case a lot of feistiness that makes for a great read as poor Lucas has to watch over her and keep her safe. She definitely puts him to the test but in the end he scores a huge A+ and the love of his life. This book should be read after the previous book, Jake, as the story picks up where that one ends and Jakes's story also really starts in that book.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
I have been waiting for Lucas’s book since I read Savage Prince. One night, one mistake and he took the wrong girl, he was supposed to “save” McKayla and instead took Taryn by mistake, not realizing who she was and who her family is, Taryn jumped at the chance to get away from it all. The question is what do they do now? Lucas promised Kellen that he’d keep his sister safe. Can he and the MC do just that? Lucas is attracted to her and he needs to keep his hands to himself, or will he go down the rabbit hole with her willingly? The waiting to find out who Krumpus is had me turning the pages and I can honestly say I had no freaking idea. Loved the suspense, the drama, all these stories are packed with steam and will just suck you in until the end. Amazing read.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book follows after the mess that Lucas and Jake got into. Lucas cannot seem to catch a break. He now has even more woman trouble. Taryn now finds herself in his care. She is enjoying her locked down freedom because she knows what will happen if she leaves. There is someone determined to find her. Lucas and Taryn begin to develop a relationship but there are plenty of obstacles in their path. The Kings, their enemies and their pasts might end it all. I enjoyed this book and the characters. I was happy to see Lucas get what he deserved. Taryn was the girl for him.

A mistake leads to a life that Lucas never knew he wanted or thought he would get. When Lucas kidnaps/rescues the woman he believes is Mckayla his life takes a turn he never imagined. Taryan Hawthorne is a spitfire of a girl who has been sheltered all her life while she was being prepared to marry a man she has never met. The taste of freedom being with Lucas gives her helps her bloom into the woman she always hoped to be even though she originally believed she traded one prison for the next. There are plenty of surprises and some of the funniest dialogues about the "Birds and the Bees" that I have ever read. Don't miss this great story.

Lane Hart & D.B. West's books keep getting better and better. When authors can bring a page turning story that keeps the reader engaged through many books in the same series, that is something special. Many times when reading a long series, they tend to be redundant. That is definitely not the case in Lucas and Taryn's story, the eleventh book in the series. Filled with drama, action, and sexy romance, Lucas and Taryn's story has a bit of a differing twist that as a reader, made it hard to put down until they got their own HEA. While this is Lucas and Taryn's story, appearances from other members of the MC add to the closeness of the club. **I was gifted Lucas (Savage Kings MC-South Carolina,#11) via Booksprout, leaving my review based on my reading. ** 5 Stars!
Lucas is sent to watch the rich guys house trying to get mckayla back after they think she was forced to marry him after her best friend ran out on him. When Lucas sees this chick and two bodyguards jogging down the street it think it’s mckayla so her knocks out the guards and takes her but she’s not McKayla she’s tayrn the rich guys sister. Opps! What a mistake but Tayrn doesn’t care she’s just glad she’s out because she’s being groomed for some guy and she doesn’t want it but her father is doing this. But now Lucas has made a big mistake that will come back on the club and then there is a twist no one sees coming. So enjoy another good read of these hot guys and their women!!
This is book 11 in the Savage Kings MC South Carolina series and it features Lucas and Taryn, Kellen’s sister. She’s been groomed for a suspiciously arranged marriage for most of her almost 21 years. The things she’s had to learn will SHOCK you! Things start unraveling for the Hawthorn family and it completely alters the family structure. Everyone thinks McKayla is being held against her will by Kellen. Lucas is sent to bring McKayla back. Everyone is surprised to see that Lucas, totally on accident, has brought back someone else instead.
This is a fantastic romance that is full of MC sexiness, mystery, suspense and a blossoming romance. Make sure you read Jake and Savage Prince before this one, so you can get the entire story line.
I have been waiting very patiently to get this book to get the answers to the questions that remained after Jake and the Savage Prince stories. Lucas makes a grave error by kidnapping Taryn when he was supposed to be rescuing McKayla from Kellen. The events that follow wreak havoc with the Kings chapters all over the country. Such bad timing for Lucas and also for Jake as they are waiting to see which one of them gets to be the next patched member of the Kings and which one is out. Since Lucas created this problem, he is tasked with babysitting and protecting Taryn all while keeping his hands to himself. This proves to be a major issue as Taryn has been so sheltered over the years. She unknowingly and unwittingly pushes all of Lucas’s buttons. Lane Hart has given us an exceptionally written book full of action, drama, wit, suspense, and steam. Lane ‘s writing is creative and captivating, and you will definitely not want to put this one down. Even though you can read this as a stand alone, I highly recommend all the books in the Savage Kings chapters as well as Savage Prince so you know who the players are. I loved how the story of Jake, Kellen, and Lucas played out. This is a definite must read!
This book picks up where Jake leaves off and it is FANTASTIC! Lucas and Jake are still trying to make amends and they're making good progress. It's when Lucas goes to rescue Leightons friend McKayla that things go a bit awry. Taryn has lived her entire life under the thumb of her family and she's had just about enough. Her opportunity arises to escape when she encounters Lucas while she's out on a run. Things spiral from there and chaos is comes from all sides. There's absolutely never a dull moment in this book or with these characters. I completely enjoy all of these authors books but, they have definitely brought it in a HUGE way with Jake, Savage Prince and now Lucas!
I loved this story. It has a good storyline and just so fantastic characters. There are the good guys and the villains and the family and the friends - actually it just has it all that is necessary in a good story. I just do not know how these two authors can continually write such good stories. This is an independent story in a series of the Savage Kings MC members, and the question at the end of each story is : when is the next one out???? Tomorrow? It just can not be soon enough!!! Five stars for this story as there is nothing else possible! I loved it again and I loved it again.

It was so worth the wait for Lucas and Taryn's book , an emotional , actioned packed and tragic with a slow build relationship between the main characters , as it follows on from Jake and Leighton's book , he appears in this book a lot and they are still trying to work things out between them , i absolutely loved the scene when the pair had "HAD THE TALK" , and i didn't guess the twist as to who who the KRAMPUS was , a well written book , all the characters were great , it's definitely a page turner and i LOVED IT.

Oh my heart. Lucas has been through a lot emotionally and does not know how to deal. He lost his first love and his best friend and when he was looking for a way to make it up, grabbed the wrong girl! Taryn is awesome! Being sheltered her whole life has given her such a thirst for life, it's envious. The way the relationship develops between these two is lovely to watch. Be prepared to shed a few tears though, lucas and Jake building their friendship back up is emotional. Loved the world building in this book and the twist! Did not see that one coming at all! Leo s book should be an interesting read.
