Shattering the Darkness

Rate this book
It has been a long road for Olivia and her guys. Together they have been to Hell and back more than once.

Now, four years after the downfall of Olivia's monsters, has the past finally been laid to rest once and for all? Can Olivia, Kade, Kyle, Cole and Matt finally find the peace and happiness they truly deserve? With exciting news for her guys, Olivia certainly thinks a bright future is on the horizon, but can the past ever really remain the past? With history creeping up on the guys once more and more at stake than ever, can they all pull together to fight the darkness once again?

Man, the traumatic situations never cease lol. I hope the bad luck ends with the birth of Thomas because holy shit what they’ve all been through is enough trauma for a lifetime!

I’m happy Maria is dead. Matt deserves to live the rest of his life without ever having to worry about his horrible mother again.

Olivia is one of my all time favorite characters, so getting more of her and her guys was fantastic.

I love seeing them happy and how they are getting on a few years into their relationship, they are just the sweetest bunch. Oh and drama! Don't forget the surprise actionpacked drama this one had!

This was a cute story and a nice way to end a pretty awesome series. Even though a few things irked me, I still found it pretty cute.

A good epilogue

This is the fourth book of the serie and it feels like a long epilogue. It's a quick and efficient read with only around 100 pages.

If you've read the third book, you know now that Olivia got pregnant so logically the book tells about it but not only... Olivia and the guys have to face the last threat to their happiness and it adds a bit of suspense and action in this book which is slow pace and a bit repetitive with inner monologue or discussion about Olivia's safety, well being, and how lucky they are to be together, etc.

But globally it's a nice book which complete this amazing serie, thanks author! ♥️

The guys reaction to the MC telling them all she is pregnant.

Who would you suggest this book to?
Anyone who likes dark content, drama, and suspense.

What is your general opinion/ rating of this book? SPOILERS
I didn’t care for this book. I felt like part of it could have been added to the previous books. It was short and I am glad the guys had their HEA… But issues I had with the 3rd book popped up in this one. (MC leaving the back door open.) After EVERYTHING that happened with the MC and guys you would think that security would be better. I also think they were too lax when it came to Matt’s mom in the first place. I felt like the drama in this one was forced and unfortunately, I stopped caring. I expected anything and everything to go wrong with these guys’ lives now. Overall, the series isn’t bad if you like HEAVY drama. But if your like me and like some light with your dark genre you’ll find it lacking in this book.

Love interests, how many of them are there and what gender?
There are 4 love interest, all of them males.
Kade- works for CPD.
Kyle- Ex-military and lost his whole squad.
Cole- “Big Teddy Bear” Type.

A must read for sure!!

When I heard that Kerry Taylor was coming out with a novella for Livy and the guys I literally screamed. I didn’t think that my wish would come true and it did!!!

Pieces of Us has always been my comfort read and anytime I’m in a book slump or need something that’ll help cheer me up- this is the first book I think of.

Kade, Matt, Cole, and Kyle are probably my favorite fictional men. They’re everything that I love in a guy: protective, possessive, sweet, loyal, attentive, and caring.

I’m so sad to see the characters go, but I’m glad that these guys (especially Olivia) got their happily ever after! They haven’t had the best life and they deserve everything and more.

Something I hate is when a native British speaker attempts to write an American English book.
Especially with no was no g that they do not speak american/Canadian English in the first place.

Through out the whole series, there was a mix of American and British words and slang and it drove me insane.

On top of all that, there were grammar errors, spelling mistakes and, missing words.

If you have the mental capacity to fill in the corrections as you re
As then yes, I do recommend this series.
If you get headaches easily from the above mentioned issues, then may be it's not worth it or at least take your time.

I loved their story... Though I will admit, it was a tad repetitive.
When you read it, you will get it lol.

Great Finish

Shattering the Darkness concludes Olivia and her guys story and ties up the last of the loose ends from the previous book. I really loved this book because I always want to get a peek of the future of the characters that I get to know while reading a book and this story does exactly that. I really loved seeing everyone getting their HEA and I feel that this story gave a really nice conclusion to the series. Overall, a fantastic series, one of my favourites, and I would recommend giving it a read.

A happy ending

I read and reread these books more than once I love them. The author tells a fantastic story about a young victim and her amazing support foster family I really felt sorry after she found out she was alone but with her inner strength she over came it all.I was a little disappointed at the end of book 3 but the novella gave her and the guys a wonderful ending thank you.

Disappointed.

I absolutely loved the shattered series, it’s one of my absolute favorites. I thought 3 had a perfect ending but man was I excited to hear we were going to get more, until I read it. Poor editing, misused words, wrong words, spelling issues, grammar issues, switching perspective from what the chapter said it was, continuity issues, no real plot, weird forced drama at the end. Characters weren’t exactly themselves, just super frustrating and disappointing.

Crying all over again!

I absolutely loved reading the progress and amazing life that Livy and her men share. I was tearing up a lot, especially when she announced her baby’s name. I was so happy with the ending and I can’t wait to read the next series! I love the wrap up of Livy and her mens story!

I was fine with this book until the end when she is having the baby via c section and one of the dads is in the room with her - confirms it’s a BOY because he’s very well endowed. Please explain to me the purpose of that cause A BABY!!!

Anyway - needs editing. It’s a fine conclusion but idk. Wouldn’t recommend because of that

I think this was the perfect ending for Livy and her guys. Actually, until I found out there was a short story coming up, I didn't know I thought the story wasn't really complete yet. Now, I can reread the whole story again, and again, and again, and... You catch my drift.

good

A short look into the future. The family is happy, and the guys go overboard with everything. And there is resolution with Maria finally. The prologue is the epilogue of book three, so you can jump straight into chapter one if you read it.

points for sweetness

Sweet addition but sorta boring. Several grammar and spelling errors. Action lasts all of 5 minutes. Sweet but no real meat to it. Lost a lot of emotional depth. But I’m still glad I read it as I love this story and thought it was finished at the last book.

Happy Endings!!

I love happy endings, especially at the end of a series. I do not like that the series ended! A tearful journey and with the best guys a girl can ask for. I am so glad we will get some cameos in her next series. Love this series and will be on my re-read forever!!

loved!

Loved the series. Only thing that bothered me was the spelling and grammar issues and with a few instances of the wrong characters name. But the series was absolutely amazing! Loved all the characters and I’m so sad to see them go.

I loved the series and read it multiple times, but this "epilogue novella" felt not at all like the closure all of them deserve but more like next book in the series, only short.
