Rate this book
Set against the atmospheric backdrop of rural Pacific Northwest, New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti’s thrilling suspense series follows FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow as she strives to navigate her complicated family life when her newly discovered sociopathic half-sister becomes the target of a dangerous killer. The Blacklist meets The Profiler meets Justified in this fast, page-turning thriller that will have readers guessing until the very end!

What do you do when a sociopath loves you? Rising star FBI profiler Laurel Snow is about to find out …

Calling Laurel Snow’s relationship with her newly discovered half-sister challenging is an understatement. Not only does Laurel suspect Abigail is behind the mysterious disappearance of their father, but her erratic behavior also makes life in Laurel’s small hometown interesting, to say the least. Still, when Abigail claims someone is now out to kill her, Laurel’s instinct to protect her sister goes into overdrive. Then things get even more dicey as dead bodies start turning up in the icy waters of the Sauk River and there’s only one connection among them: Abigail . . .

Having Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers bringing in those bodies with his dive team only complicates matters. Huck is as impulsive and fiery as Laurel is coolly analytical, which makes their alliance risky at best. But standing up to such a demonically brilliant killer is going to take all the help Laurel can get. Because Laurel’s attempt to save her troubled sister’s life might cost her own . . .

This is a Romantic Suspense/Mystery, and this is the second book in the Laurel Snow series. I have read the first book in this series before picking up this book. This is a series that I really think should be read in order because this book feeds off of things that happen in the first book. I really love this series and the characters in this series. This book is packed with a ton of action and suspense with a little bit of romance. I loved the mystery that is going on in this book, and it kept me guessing. I did not want to put this book down, so I ended up staying up super late finishing reading this book. Great Read. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Zebra) or author (Rebecca Zanetti) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

You Can Hide by Rebecca Zanetti
Laurel Snow series #2. Thriller / romantic suspense. Best read in series order for character development but can be read as a stand-alone.
A female doctor has been brutally killed. She had complained to the police about a stalker. A second body has been found. Both had black dahlia petals found on their property. Laurel’s sister finds the flowers petals frozen in her yard and another doctor thinks she may have a stalker too. It’s up to Laurel and her team and plus Huck to investigate and try to prevent another murder.

Thrilling and intense. Lots of suspense, suspicion, and secrets.

Oh, that Abigail is manipulative! I read a paragraph where she convinces Laurel that Huck doesn’t want to be with Laurel. Abigail clearly knows that Laurel doesn’t understand her own jealousy and I don’t think Abigail really wants Huck other than as something that Abigail has.
This is early in the story so I don’t consider it a spoiler as much as showing Abigail’s personality and Laurel’s somewhat naive emotional understanding.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I also purchased all format of this book to keep and share.

*3.5* Just as enjoyable as the first in the series, but it felt almost a carbon copy in terms of what happened with the characters and their interpersonal relationships. The only remarkable different was that the relationship between Laurel and her sister is becoming much more sinister.

Life was so much easier when people just told the truth.

I wish there were more time spent in Laurel’s head and less time with side characters. She’s such a fascinating character, but it feels like her gifts are tossed out every few chapters to remind you she’s a genius rather than being woven into the plot.

This is an entertaining, well-written, fast paced, romantic suspense thriller. It has a strong, capable, and brilliant female protagonist, a hot hero, murder, mystery, intrigue, a touch of romance, twists and turns, and a surprise ending. This is the second novel in Ms. Zanetti's outstanding Laurel Snow series, and can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone, but is better when read in order. I am looking forward to reading the next entry in this series with great anticipation.
I listened to the audio version of this novel, and the narrator, Ms. Amy Landon, does an excellent job depicting the characters and their personalities.

I don't get exactly why this author's books appeal to me so strongly. I like this series the best of the ones that I've sampled, which is odd since I'm not usually a fan of thrillers like this. But I'm hooked and will definitely read the third novel.

At least the author has provided interesting characters and plot lines in this series. She has a very definite pattern of highly intelligent and striking women being matched with blue collar men. These male characters are very bossy, protective, physically powerful, and mean well towards the women. But they are overbearing and getting them to listen to the women's opinions is a challenge. Her female characters are portrayed as generally okay with this, although there are some struggles to establish boundaries.

I think the inclusion of a maybe psychopathic half-sister to Laurel Snow gives this series more interest. Abigail is a potential threat to Laurel and her actions are difficult to predict. She is an interesting opponent and her focus on Laurel and Huck is rather threatening. Their father is still missing and Laurel suspects that Abigail may have had something to do with that. I hope this plotline will be resolved in the next installment.

Winter in the northern Washington State area can be dismal. Added to that you have a psychopath running loose killing smart women. It takes a really smart woman to catch the killer and even she was surprised to find out who it turned out to be. Laurel Snow is smart, really smart, but she is nothing like her equally smart and very scary half-sister, Abigail. I've enjoyed this series, even though it skews more Suspense than Romance. The slow burn romance between Laurel and Huck Rivers is growing and building and these two are bringing out the best in each other as they work together to solve the case.

A serial killer is on the loose, again, in the Genisus Valley area of Washington State and FBI Agent Laurel Snow and Fish and Wildlife Agent Huck Rivers are called to the scene of a dead, nude, frozen woman in a desolate area. The flowers left spread around her just add a creepy factor to the bizarre scene. Soon after this discovery, Laurel receives a call from her half-sister, Abigail Crane, that she is being threatened, flowers left on her frozen lawn. With the murder case just beginning, Laurel has no time for the machinations of her half-sister, but Abigail refuses to be ignored, and everywhere Laurel looks for the murderer, Abigail turns up as a link.

My thanks to Zebra, Publisher, and Rebecca Zanetti, Author, for providing a complimentary digital Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this novel via NetGalley. This is my fair, honest and personal review. All opinions are mine alone and were not biased in any way.

The Laurel Snow series phenomenon continues in all its glory with (book #2), You Can Hide. For me, this was equally as clever, suspenseful and thrilling as (book #1), You Can Run. Yet again, I am eagerly awaiting the scheduled release of the next edition... (You Can Die, on 07/25/23).

Laurel Snow is such an awesome heroine to follow. I love how unique she is. She's super smart, not emotionally driven, a bit awkward, and just plain amazing! I like how she keeps surprising Huck because she doesn't react like a woman usually does. He needs to get his head out of his "you know what" though. He's can have a great thing with Laurel if he would stop being so stubborn.

I'm also enjoying the cases in each book of the series. It's fun to investigate and guess who might be the killer. There are also a lot of great side characters that bring more to this series. We got introduced to a few more in this book.

Laurel sister has me stumped. I can't tell if she will end up being a good sister or not. I kind of like that unpredictability of that as well. I can't wait for book 3!

This was underwhelming. I don't know why but I didn't enjoy it as book one. Maybe it is my mood while I was reading it. The suspense part was not very intruiging and I was not even curious to know who is the killer. There is interesting ending and I like the characters.

So what do you do when a sociopath loves you?
A great addition to this series although a bit of a slow burn in the beginning as the mystery sets up. There are twists and turns but what makes this one really good is the chemistry between FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow (Temperance Brennan-style) and Huck Rivers, Fish and Wildlife Captain, as they work together tracking down a serial killer in Genius Valley. Rebecca Zanetti is bang on with their personalities and it's easy to really be invested in the two main characters. Laurel and Huck work well together and seem to be forming a trust in each other that is leading to love. Another interesting character is includes Abigail, Laurel Snow's half sister who is equally as smart as she is. Is Abigail hiding something? She definitely plays a victim and a suspect well. What is she after?

Can be read as a standalone but start with the first book and enjoy the ride! I highly recommend reading You Can Run before you read You Can Hide. I'm obsessed and ready for the next book in this exciting series! Don't miss!
Special shout out to Kensington and Netgalley!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Suspenseful Stars!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow is back!! SA Laurel Snow is one of the most original characters I’ve ever read in the mystery/thriller/romantic/suspense genre. She has a unique look and is off the charts smart…..she’s brilliant actually. I love Cpt. Huck Rivers, he has his own demons and issues, he & Laurel have a complicated and undefined relationship, looking forward to seeing where their relationship goes.

I have to say Agent Snow’s half-sister, Dr. Abigail Caine, really takes this series to a whole new “holy crap she’s a psycho” level….she is beyond creepy. Yikes!

I cannot wait to read more! This book is fast paced and will keep you on the edge of your seat guessing who the killer is almost till the end!! That ending….WOW!

Can’t wait for the next book. If you’re a fan of romantic/suspense mixed with plenty of mystery you will not be disappointed! Can’t wait for the next book!!

FBI profilers! Serial killers! Here we go.....

There is a serial killer on the loose in the ice and snow of Northern Washington State. At the scene of each crime scene he/she leaves a victim beaten to a pulp as well as black dahlias spread out everywhere. Sent to investigate is FBI agent Laurel Snow. Ms. Snow is a genius who attended college at the age of 13 and graduated with just about every degree offered. (Yes, she is one of those...... Very smart and devoid of any emotion. Or so everyone thinks.) She is helped by Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers. (Yes, Huck Rivers. You read that right and he is not a astronaut like the name suggests) He was a former sniper with PTSD who is always accompanied by his loyal work/support dog Aeneas.

What follows is a great FBI profiler and procedural book. There are the usual twists and turns but what makes this one really good is the chemistry between Snow and Rivers (Yes, you also read that right) Author Rebecca Zanetti really nails their personalities and it's easy to really like those characters. Especially Laurel Snow who tries to navigate this case and life with her no nonsense / analytical mindset. Those two characters work so well together that I think those crazy kids may just fall in love one day. We also have a cast of other characters including Abigail, Laurel Snow's half sister who may be just as smart as she is.

On the whole this book is highly recommended if you like FBI/Serial Killer procedurals. Note it's Book 2 in the series and full disclosure I did not read book 1. However, it works as a standalone and I never felt like I was missing anything. I was totally drawn into this one and did not guess the ending.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This one has a publication date of November 2022 and thank you Kensington Books for the ARC to review.

First Impressions
You Can Run is the 2nd installment in the “Laurel Snow” series and it was just released this past week which is so exciting. This book is perfect for readers that love romantic thrillers or want to explore the genre a bit more but are still romance readers. Now I will say that the romance does most definitely take a back seat, but its present. I have a feeling we will be seeing their relationship slowly build throughout the series and its done well and boy does Zanetti know how to write a good sex scene. She really implements some well done plot growth on this one and a bit of a alpha male for our hero so what’s not to love. And as a bonus, this is the perfect book to read for this time of year, it has such a strong winter theme to it that I just gravitated towards.

Summary
Our story starts off with a woman being raped and visciously murdered in the snow. Laurel is the head FBI agent on the case, and has heard from Huck in quite some time as he stopped connected with her, but now she is forced to work with him on this serial murder case and tensions between them are high as they work are solving the case while also determining where their relationship stands between them. Laurel is also having to face unresolved issues with her step sister who could either be a target or even the killer herself. There is a connection to some kids involved and women keep getting targeted in the depth of winter.

What I Loved
I just loved so many aspects to this story, it was so intriguing to seeing how this all worked together and how the story was gradually built. I was instantly pulled into the story and I was so happy to be back to this delightful story with Laurel and Huck. And man these two need to just have talks more haha and there is WALL SEX. Zanetti doesn’t shirk on the sensuality of her writing even in a romantic thriller and I really adored that. We still feel the deep tones of chemistry between the pair as they work on solving the investigation. We see more hints at the secrets of how Laurel’s mind works and I really loved seeing that.

What I Struggled With
There wasn’t much that I struggled with, I would have liked just a bit more focus on the relationship builing between Huck and Laurel.

Overall View
I found You Can Run to be a thrilling addition to the series, that offers a plot building of intensity, dramatic relationship interactions and a snowy small town setting to draw you into its charm, UTTERLY A WIN!

Laurel is one of the most unique heroines I’ve ever read and she captivated me just as much this time around as she did in the first book. Her abilities are otherworldly and her personality is one that intrigues me. I love characters portrayed as she is.

While I’m all about the hero, I have to confess that Huck doesn’t really win it with me. He seems a bit lackluster and less fiery than the heroes I’m accustomed to reading by this author. Of course, Ms. Zanetti has built a high bar for herself with previous heroes that have become some of my top favorites ever.

This storyline is one that refused to let me skim it. I was in a place where I needed to be able to read and move on and this book was not it. It forced me to pay attention to the details, to the clues, and to the characters. I love when a romantic suspense demands my attention in this way. It’s a sure sign that the writing is pure excellence.

#kiss from I nije više pitanje koje već čije su oči najljepše

This can be read as a standalone but I encourage you to read the first book. Also, beware…while this story concludes, it also leaves us with a honking hook for the next book.

Gripping and keeps you reading. Laurel Snow is an intriguing character, and I certainly will keep reading the series because she’s enough of a draw. I also like Huck and his trusty companion, Aeneas, a Karelian bear dog. Laurel is an FBI profiler, whose focus is serial killers. She’s very intelligent and logical, which helps in her job, but it does not make it easy in personal relationships. Huck is a tracker for the Fish & Wildlife Dept., and the small Washington town suits him after a tough loss in a case and a personal betrayal by his former fiancé. Laurel has been traveling around the country, but gets pulled back to her hometown for a case, in the first book. This one has her considering setting up a permanent office to be near her family.

I liked this book. It grabbed my attention and held it. However, it suffered some from being the second in series. While the first introduced a slew of of characters that were compelling with interesting relationship dynamics. This one did not build on that much. It mostly introduced a new mystery that wasn’t as connected the expected series arc. However it did still feature Abigail, Laurel’s eerily similar half-sister, and gave a little more information about her. Abigail is the other side of the coin from Laurel, and while it’s not clear what is going to happen with this series, it is clear she will be an important player.

Huck and Laurel’s relationship tends to be at a the level of a lidded pan on a simmer. When you take off the lid, there’s a lot of steam but most of the time it’s not very noticeable. They both think they can’t get attached because it is against their nature. However, they are drawn to each other regardless.

Ultimately, a good addition to this series, and I am really looking forward to the third book. I would recommend if looking for a romantic suspense, with some interesting relationship dynamics at play.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read and review this book. Views are my own.

I just LOVE Laurel Snow's character. She is so unique. Absolutely brilliant with several degrees who graduated at a very young age and became an FBI Special Agent. She is also socially inept but tries to hard to be what she terms as "normal." She totally accepts her genius as the only thing she has ever known and doesn't laud it over anyone. On the contrary, she is constantly studying body language so she is able to understand and interact with people better. She also has a photographic memory. Regardless of her perceived "disabilities," she can profile a suspect better than anyone and has a case solving rate that is superior to most. So far, the two cases she has been involved with in her hometown have been mind blowing. I never figured it out in the first book nor in this book. The mysteries are that good. I love her partner Huck. He is ex-military with PTSD who prefers to be a loner (except for his bear killing dog) but he is so attracted and intrigued by her. They make a great team. I hope the author continues this series. It's great!

You Can Hide is book #2 of the Laurel Snow romantic thriller series by Rebecca Zanetti. It is told from various POV with a resolved ending. Tropes: women sleuths | romantic suspense

Once again Rebecca Zanetti delivers a gripping and bone chilling romantic suspense that had me on the edge of my seat throughout.

When Laurel’s brilliant and possibly sociopathic half-sister calls her saying she might be in danger from a stalker Laurel doesn’t hesitate to act especially when not soon after bodies start popping up with the same stalker signs pointing at another serial killer in her hometown.

The good news is she already has a temporary team in place, including the very protective Captain Huck rivers from Fish and Wildlife. But will it be enough to catch this killer who’s several steps ahead of them and only seems to prey on brilliantly smart and independent women like herself?

Right from the start, this book is bursting with intriguing tension, action and a dash of romance. I had a really hard time figuring out who the bad guy was, but was truly enjoying reading every little bread crumb Zanetti gave us and before I knew it I was almost at the end and wanting to keep reading more.

I loved Laurel’s character development where she questions the effect of nature and nurture and how she is as a person especially compared with her half-sister who grew up without a loving parent. She’s logical, doesn’t play games, she’s loyal and honest. I loved that Huck appreciated all this about her.

I also enjoyed having the supporting characters from the previous book and a couple of new additions I hope to read about in the next one. Although this book can be read as a standalone, I think it can be better appreciated if read in order.

Mystery
Suspense
Mild Thriller
Very Slow Burn
Only one sex scene as far as I remember.
These are Heavy on investigation and suspense & the build of the relationship between Laurel and Huck.

Other characters stand out.
The writing is very good and the story has a great pace.

I wish there was More intimacy between Laurel and Huck. But I really can't complain. What we get is quality. And realistic for the characters personalities.

There were a couple of places I felt the story dragged just a bit.

I'm eagerly awaiting for the 3rd (and I think final) book in this series. But if she can get these two together, I can see this series going forward with other cases and even other mc's.

*I received a free copy of You Can Hide. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased.*

The second installment in the Laurel Snow series was somehow even more chilling than the first one. I loved how Laurel came back, and how she still had to somehow work on more than one level to get things to go her way.
The new mystery was well done, and as I said, very chilling.

In the previous novel, You Can Run, special FBI agent Laurel Snow returned home and set up a temporary field office to catch a serial killer. She hasn’t packed up yet when the body of a young woman is discovered. She is partially dismembered and flowers are scattered near the scene. So much violence. Snow and Rivers are soon on the case, and her temporary office is looking more permanent.

First, I love Laurel Snow. My guess is she is on the spectrum. She isn’t good with people, but has an incredible mind. For example, if you ask her, she can tell you how many people she saw wearing hats in the past week and how many of those were red. She is methodical and tenacious when catching a killer.

She is slowly building a team and working alongside Rivers, who some might call a hermit. He lives alone and prefers the company of his dog. However, Snow gets under his skin. The two had a one-night stand that ended awkwardly and I loved seeing them address it. We see some development in their relationship and I am enjoying the slow burn, banter, and growth.

The murder-mystery was intense with plenty of suspects and victims. It kept me guessing, felt grounded and had moments of intensity that will get your heart pumping. Fans of suspenseful FBI thrillers with a side of romance and small-town charm will find this series exciting.

The case is wrapped up, and we are left in a good place with our characters. I am looking forward to the next novel. While each book has its own case to solve, I recommend beginning with You Can Run. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

You Can Hide is the second book in the Laurel Snow series. This one picks up fairly soon after the first book. I wouldn't say that this one works that well as a stand alone. It definitely ruins the first book. This time around, there is a serial killer stalking and killing women. He leaves them posed and missing body parts. There is also a question of how involved Laurel's half sister is in the case.

I liked this addition to the series. The solution to the mystery was hard to figure out and I enjoyed the journey to hunt him down. More than the mystery, what I really love about this series is Laurel herself. It has been enjoyable watching her build friendships with her colleagues as well as figuring out where she feels most at home. The growing relationship between Laurel and Huck has also been a pleasure to watch. They are two people who are most unlikely to fall for each other, but somehow they work. I can't wait to see where it goes next. I do recommend this one and look forward to the next one.

"Fury and rage belong on another plane, not within the human heart."

I'm thoroughly enjoying my time in the Laurel Snow series with another solid installment in YOU CAN HIDE. We dive a little more into the lives of Laurel, Huck, the crew, and see how unpredictable and scary her half-sister, Abigail is. Another serial killer is on the loose while Laurel and Huck are navigating their attraction towards each other. I love when I find a new series like this that not only has an engaging plot but complex and interesting characters you want to know more about.

The romance is very slow going which I'm ok with, but we do get some feelings shared and I'm excited to see where Laurel and Huck take it.

Memorable Quotes

"But we both know I'm unusually intelligent, and brilliance and insanity are but one click away on the clock of life."

"Most people do like you, but you remain unaware of that fact if they don't say the words."

"You are warm and kind and a very safe place for a battered ex-soldier like me to land." It wasn't a love sonnet, but it was the best he could do. Plus, it was the truth.

I did not think it would turn out this way. Honestly, I have a lot of fun with book 1. It felt like a new beginning toward something. Now that I've read this one, my interest has dwindled.

The only question that came into my head was, where did it go wrong?

And that, dear friends, where I've come up with a list.

1. The case. For such an intriguing case of serial murders with a unique & chilling signature, I feel this author failed to convey the suspense and mystery surrounding each incident. It feels almost clinical and it doesn't help we got a stoic female lead as our eyes in this case. I feel detached whenever another woman gets killed when I should've been more invested in them.

2.The whodunnit. It's so obvious and a little painful to see how much the story tried to throw you off the killer by shoving other potential suspects up your face when there is one person who is the pinpoint where all threads are converging, and the story blatantly ignored to address that. Honestly, it's a little insulting to my brittle little ego.

3. Characters. We don't really get to know them any further, do we? Well, at least that's my impression of them. The female protagonist, as I said, is a little too clinical, practical, no-nonsense kind of gal and it's fine... initially. But at some point, I was desperate to get to know her more, relate more to her, and understand her better, but there was no character development for her in this. At least, none that made sense or was obvious. Our male lead, on the other hand, is hands down, a bland guy whose only purpose was to create another unnecessary drama with his ex and get hurt just so our girl can help save him. Huh? Basically, the typical female characters we found in our men-centric movies.

4. Romance. What romance? If there was a reverse boner, then that's what I feel with this one.

5. Villain? Crazy sister? The most interesting part of the book. Enjoyed the tension and heated rivalry between Laurel and Abigail. The dialogues could be a little too cringy at times and I've had enough with their red hairs and heterochromia eyes descriptions. I do not need to be reminded of them every time they came on page or meet new people.

All in all, yes I sound bitter. And yes, this sounds like a one-star read but although I found a lot of issues with this one, I still think it has its merit. The list I've come up with above is just my personal preferences and I still think there are people out there who would love this more than I do.

That was some ride! A unique lead character, her ragtag team, a serial killer, and lots of twists and turns, make for a good thriller. Add to that some sexy time and I’m sold.

If the previous book introduced Laurel and her quirks, this one shows us how her current situation–work-, friends- and family-wise–is slowly changing her. Or more precisely, how she decides to change to fit better with her new environment.

Of course, there’s the romance between Laurel and Huck. There’s some progress here, and I couldn’t be happier. The “injured and at the hospital” plot point is cliché–and used twice!–but it works. Though it’s snail slow, they’re clearly developping deep feelings for each other, that the fact that they work together and have more than just flirting interactions enhance. I wonder where they’ll go from there in the next book.

In fact, Laurel isn’t the only character changing their ways. Two important people in Laurel’s life do the same. Huck’s changes are subtle, as he’s definitely not ready to become less than a grumpy mountain man. Abigail, Laurel’s half-sister, has a new goal, and though her personality stays the same, her actions paint her in a new light.

We see more of the town’s main characters during the investigation. I loved that aspect because it’s a perfect counterpoint to the serial killer plot. In small town stories, everybody knows everybody, secrets can’t keep, and you can’t do anything without it becoming gossip. Yet, here, there’s a serial killer roaming the streets, their victims have double lives, the suspects hide things from Laurel… You never know what to expect.

Like in the first book, the murders are pretty graphic and gruesome. Definitely not for the faint of heart. It isn’t gratuitous though, as the staging and the victims’ state have significance to the investigators.

If you love your thriller with a side of romance, that’s the book.

Quickie

- Series: Laurel Snow #2 (can be read as a standalone)
- Hashtags: #romantic suspense #thriller #neurodivergent #serial killer #mountain man
- Triggers: gruesome murders with graphic depictions, mention of rape
- Main couple: Laurel Snow & Huck Rivers
- Hotness: 3/5
- Romance: 3/5
- + the final twist was perfect!
- – I like Laurel and Huck’s relationship, but it’s so slow…

Story 4 stars. Narration 4.5 stars. Another whodunnit in this series about an FBI agent in charge who has now managed to have two serial
killers in two back to back cases in the small town she originally comes from. She has a newly found half sister that belongs in custody-toss up between prison or insane asylum. Very interesting side character-scary too! The main character is probably a very highly functioning Asperger’s and her IQ is off the charts. She worked both cases with an ex-military type officer from Fish and Wildlife. Who knew they work murder cases? Anyway, he’s the love interest although she doesn’t act like most people and has trouble understanding emotions and how she should react. I liked the book and had no clue who the murderer was until the end. That alone warrants me recommending this to adult mystery/thriller readers. I enjoyed listening and thought the narrator was good. I look forward to the next in this series.

4.5

Very good thriller! It addressed the elephant in the room such as the odds of a serial killer appearing in the same small town with the same FBI/detectives with other common denominators. Continued character development, a slow-building romantic relationship/friendship, and plot with rapid twists and turns. Keep them coming, Ms. Zanetti!

I am going to go out on a limb here and tell you that I read these book for Abigail Kane, not Laurel Snow. Abigail fascinates me like nobody’s business. There is so much depth that chick that I am on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what she has done, is doing and will do.

This installment is another who is the “serial killer” who has a connection to flowers and all the female doctors in the area. It was interesting trying to see how the mind of a profiler works. It’s even more fascinating to see a genius herd both a profiler and a serial killer. This one was layers and a really good suspense mystery thriller.

I want to like Hawk but as my son would say, he’s “mid”. The real stars are Laurel and Abigail. J can’t wait for book 3 to see just what Dr Kane is up to.

There were far too many references to Huck that could be describing a large building or a random mountain range (wide, sturdy, broad). We get it. He's manly. Also, infuriatingly, Laurel really didn't seem all that brilliant to me. They both missed so many signs that were literally right in front of them. I'm intrigued by how unhinged Abigail has the potential to be, but I don't know if I'm inclined to continue the series.
