Caia liked lilies. Not roses or daffodils, like normal, boring people. No, she liked lilies, especially callas.
She walked to our spot today, a little jump in her normally lackadaisical step. She loved that spot, she took me here every week. The one near the bridge. A little hill overlooking the pond, a bench beneath the trees. Ducks were there sometimes, as the manmade waterfall trickled into the stream, canceling all of the white noise of monotony.
The path was clear today. No dog walkers or bikers, not a jogger in sight.
Unfortunate, for her. All alone. Vulnerable. At my mercy once again.
I'd have her. She was mine, after all. Mi obsesión
C.L. Matthews is a USA TODAY Bestselling Author who lives in lala-landia with their husband and invisible friends. They're queer and Mexican-American, and love to write as many diverse characters as they can. They want to riot the lack of authentic Mexican food in their state but will settle for cooking their own dishes in the meantime. They enjoys tacos, Red Bull, and warm water, because they're crazy. They're an oddball and realize it’s been mentioned before, just go with it. Their joys in life consist of writing unconventional romances, making book covers, causing havoc to her reader’s hearts, and genre-hopping when they need a change of scenery. They're a special kind of weird and enjoy every moment of it.
What can I say about this book? Well, it was really fun in a kind of dark, sadistic way. So why the 4 and not the 5🌟? I didn't like Caia so much... 😒 A psycho stalker? Yeahhhh... This story is hot... Sterling is so funny, the character lines are just amazing, so witty. Caia character, on the other hand, is so weak. This story had so many potential but it gets a bit lost because Caia can't keep up with Sterling (in my point of view, obviously).
Little did I know, my little dove was a sex addict. A fiend for cock and pleasure. She could visit up to three guys a night to fill her up with their vile cum, and even then, it was never enough. Not for her. I was there to see the look of disappointment, of want, on her face before she went to sleep. After killing the fifteenth guy in nine days, I knew I needed to do something to get closer to her, needed to get inside her and show her that I’d be enough and she wouldn’t need more. She wouldn’t need anyone else. I’d make sure of it If she saw me, she’d probably freak out. What person wouldn’t? Especially when they felt they had privacy. With me, they didn’t. Not that it mattered. In the last month, she hadn’t spotted me once. She seemed clueless every time I snuck into her house, watching her nightly fucks, and killing them after. I knew how many laws I broke by stalking her. And then there were the moral implications of masturbating while she wasn’t aware, but knowing I’d be fucking my fist with her so close...
Yeahhh... Because stalking is the only law Sterling broke, killing the guys it's so normal... 😂 🤣 😂 🤣 And the moral implications of masturbating? 😂 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 🤣
Would she let me fuck her in her sleep? Would she notice? She did take tons of medications... At night, I snuck into her house, sleeping under her bed when I couldn’t sleep. She never once stirred. I know it's my twenty-second body in the last month, but she's been busy and so have I.
Talk about hitting every single high point for my ideal erotic psychological thriller.
✔️ rich stalker H ✔️ voyeuring ✔️ exhibitionism ✔️ boss-employee ✔️ uncontrollable need to claim and more
This is one story you’ll want to read at home so you can have full access to either your personal helper or your partner. Because I’m telling you the sex is insanely hot and everywhere in this short story.

What a 🔥 book. It had been a hot minute since I've read a stalker romance. Gah this one was like 💦🥵💀 💉 😏 🍑🍆 👋 i forgot how unhinged the stalker always is.. both MC's we're kind nuts but it worked out. It was steamy as heck and dark AF. First time read from this author from what I recall. Will definitely check out more work from C.L.... if this has typos what's new spelling and grammar isn't my forte.
"He took the time to love me in his own psycho way, he stalked me to be close without scaring me, he killed for me, he did this all....for me.."
Hero stalker - follows the heroine, at one point he is at her house, when she unexpectedly comes home and brings some dude. She fucks him, and the hero from hiding watches all this. This book is not for me.

So, our hero, Sterling is obsessing over his new employee, Caia. He broke into her house daily, watched her having sex with other men, slept under her bed, tracked her phone and knows her everyday schedule. Caia is now a sex addict and she hates her new boss but she knows he watches her sometimes.
This book is maybe my favourite stalker dark romance book so far. Everything Sterling did was so disturbing that I can't help but feel horrified and sort of interested (?). Not that I condone a man sleeping underneath the bed of his victim or being a voyeur of his stalkee's love life.
But man, I love that psychotic mind of his.
Also, did I mention he kills people too? My brand of villain here.
Stunned into silence...this book was just WOW! I'm all here for Sterling's compulsive stalker ways and his obsession with Caia...what girl wouldn't want a man that would kill to be with her? ...literally. This book will make your blood pressure rise and have you clenching your thighs 🥵The amazing C. L. Matthews has done it again!
This was one mind blowing short book! I love a stalker romance! He is the perfection of psycho’s! This is smoking hot and really dark so make sure to check your trigger warning before proceeding. Both characters, Sterling and Caia, are both crazy in their own right, but somehow they blend together! This is my first read from Ms. C.L. And it definitely will not be my last!!!
Definitely short steamy and oh so good. Sterling and caia are each other’s other crazed obsessed halves. They are drawn to one another and give what the other needs. They have an obsession with one another. No other allowed to have. This led to many deaths but all in good fun. Lol. He will kill to keep her his and be the only one to have her.

3.75 Holy Hell 🥵🥵🥵 Someone said hot stalker?? 'Cause that's totally Sterling!! He was amazing in a fucked up kinda way 😍 About Caia .... well, i'm not so fond of her 🤷♀️
cw: stalking, break in, dubious consent, on page murder, physical violence, depiction of sex addiction
I honestly don’t think the representation of the Latino hero was done well. The Spanish felt too awkward to me, and I don’t actually know if the heroine was Latina because she was aware of some of Spanish slang he used. It wasn’t explained how or why she knew the slang so I was left wondering about that. I’m assuming this author is white because of that and I think they need to have a talk with themselves the next time they choose to write a character of another culture they might not be familiar with. A sensitivity reader could’ve done wonders.
With all that being said, I actually enjoyed the majority of this book. It was pretty hot and it kept me entertained and hooked at what would happen next. I love a hero who is toxic and the hero was pretty much that. Though I have no problem with the heroine sleeping with many men after having met the hero, in fact I am begging more authors to write that, I have mixed feelings on it given that it is due to sex addiction. I doubt that it was a good representation of it. I’m not sure though, but I wanted to mention in case another reader finds that harmful to read and would want to avoid it.
Loved this stalker romance! It was short, dark AF, steamy 🔥🔥 and certainly packed a punch. Sterling and Caia together are 🥵🔥🥵🔥. Another brilliant story from C.L. Matthews 🖤🖤
This book was interesting. A stalker boss who becomes obsessed with his employee in the worst way. It was dark, but it hooked me right off the bat and kept me interested till right to the end. Sterling was extremely likeable considering he’s a psycho killing stalker boss! How that is even done I don’t know 😂😂 and some scenes in particular are so hot and naughty. I was totally here for it!
The only thing I’ll say is I understand the need for it to have trigger warnings, but listing them so obviously up front meant there was no surprises for those of us who have no triggers, which took away a lot of the suspense over what was going to happen throughout.
5 Hot-Stars! ★★★★★ Damn! This was some seriously sexy stuff! Wow! Hot off the Richter scale!
The story is from a psychopath, Sterling Reyes’ point of view mainly. He is a murderer/ private investigator and when Caia Rayne walks into his office for a job, sh!t gets crazy!
“I imagined f#cking her on that bench. She’d read her dirty book aloud, tell me what her monster did to the female character, and I’d recreate it, f#cking into her, bringing her fantasies to life.”
“Trigger Warnings: Stalking, sex addiction, murder, non-con, dub-con. There are sexual situations with honorifics, D/s, squirting, unprotected sex, somnophilia, sadism, masochism, humiliation, knife play, breeding fetishization, voyeurism, degradation, anal play, rimming, cuckolding, orgasm control/denial.”
Luckily I have no trigger warnings and loved every minute of this!
I'd do anything for her. Killing is the least of the things I'd do. I'd destroy the whole fucking world for her. She's everything to me.
Sterling Reyes (M) is obsessed with his new employee Caia Rayne, the moment he realized that the attraction was very mutual. And so he stalks her to the point that he kills all the guys (one night stands) that touched her.
Caia is a sex addict and has to relive herself at most three times a day. When she realizes that Sterling is stalking and killing the men who touched her, she is turned on.
this novella was dark and steamy. there is a stalking trope and that was what made me pick this up. this is probably one of the most kinky books i’ve read and i really enjoyed it. i liked caia (fmc) but i loved sterling (mmc). he was so funny and definitely has that “toxic dark romance book bf” vibe to him. this man killed every man that caia hooked up with. if the “touch her and i’ll kill you” trope was a person, it would be him. i recommend this book, but check the trigger warnings, especially if you don’t really read dark romance books!
The story is dark, intense, steamy and twisted. It is a dark romance that comes with some trigger warnings. It is short and with unstable characters. But the readers can't help but fall for these crazy characters. It is a highly recommended book for readers who like this genre.
Personal Take: This was shorter than I expected with eccentric protagonists. The entire plot was insane and was really entertaining. I must say after reading this one, the book is aptly named.
Dark and spicy and (surprisingly) funny. I LOVE a good stalker romance and Sterling is going on the stalker book bf list immediately. He was unhinged, depraved and so obsessed that I was wishing Caia was me. I want someone to unalive every man who has ever touched me out of sheer jealousy, is that too much to ask?
This is a dark psychological erotic novella. Sterling and Caia have their obsessions. The term obsession had reflected in this one. I was hoping I could see more connections between Sterling and Caia.
