Jude Collymore wasn't a player. He played drums, but he never played games—especially with women.

Which is why the broody rock star made it clear he had no interest in long-term commitments.

It wasn’t his fault he had women falling all over him despite that. It was a consequence of both the rock star lifestyle and the fact he knew exactly what he was doing in the bedroom.

As far as Jude was concerned, with his band and a steady stream of admirers, he had it made. But that soon changed when bandmate and best friend, Levi, received some life-changing information that could disrupt the band's current tour.

Offering his support immediately, Jude very quickly found himself tested with a connection he found impossible to ignore. Esther Milligan should never have been on his radar, and although he fought their attraction the pull toward her was strong.

Add to that a stupid challenge that became a bizarre, forbidden relationship and suddenly his single, carefree status was under question and the consequences were career ending.

Now, Jude has to decide where his loyalties lie and where his heart belongs…

Slow burn romance with a ton of chemistry and sparks from the start. Because of her age Jude fights his attraction, he knows he isn't right for her at this point in his life, adament on not wanting two kids, a house, dog and wife. Esther is going places with her own life and career, Jude has no intention of spoiling that. Levi gives mixed signals on the attraction he can see building, anti one minute, pushing them together the next. He gave me whiplash let alone poor Jude. Esther is mature for her age, she actually reminded me a bit of Piper in another book. Her life experiences so far have had that affect, meaning she is innocent in the more sexual side of life but very grown up in outlook. This story has many layers from all aspects, the band, personal lives, family and things from the outside. It was interesting and a page turner. It's a long book so does take time even for a fast reader like me, but it definitely gives a reader something to really get to sink their teeth into. I loved all the different elements of the plot, including the twists and turns it takes as we journey through roughly four years of these characters lives. Bailey was simply adorable with his dimple, he definitely stole my heart. Jude is a rock star and as such has his faults, he messes up but also owns it when he does, he hasn't had to answer for them for a long time so it isn't easy to reine it back, but he does make an effort. I really look forward to more from this series and to see just how Esther and Jude manage the distance and lifestyles, as well as Levi hopefully finding some peace and happiness for himself and building a closer relationship with his sister. As always KL Shandwick writes an emotional and very realistic story with characters readers can empathise with and love.

First, let's say the writing wasn't great and there was a LOT of mistakes. The dialogues were especially hard to read, they didn't flow naturally.

Also, I love a good age gap, but 17 to 30 is too much for me. Isn't that illegal ?

The girl acts like a teenager - and she IS a teenager, I know -, but age gaps like these usually work great when the younger one acts older than their age. How a guy in his thirties can fall in love with a teenage girl is beyond creepy.

For the love of God. He had a connection with her from the first moment he saw her.
I understand he didn't want to do anything as she was barely 18 and after her mother died and of course she was his best friend's sister.
I even liked the fact that he had girlfriends.

But in which ever fucking universe is it sweet, cute, love thrilling for him to pick up a random hookup and tag team her with the FMCs BROTHER???? AFTER he was already "teaching" the FMC sex lessons!???!?!?

He feels nothing the day after the menage and he even has the audacity to tell everyone how much in love he was or how deep his feelings were for her or that he was waiting for her all these years. Yes waiting, screwing other women because as he said to his baby mama, they were nameless chicks and he didn't have feelings for them.
Oh and of course he was jealous of any other guy approaching her or just with the thought that someone might make a move...

This story took definitely a bad turn for me. And i was so pissed by the end, I felt so disconnected with his declaration of Love and her blind acceptance of His manwhore ways. I'm curious how would she feel if she knew about the MMF action he and her brother took part (even after they had Hooked up)?

Esther was the ever blushing almost virgin and Jude the typical manwhore rockstar. Both delusional..

I won't be reading the next books for sure....

While I try to have some positive things I say about the romances I read, since this one woke me up in the middle of the night it seemed pertinent to share my thoughts. Reading somewhere around 300 books each year only two have stayed in my mind over night, and that’s because they were profound, phenomenal, and unforgettable. This is the first one on the other end of the spectrum to have that effect.

I adore rock star romances and love a good age gap, but this is not one I can recommend. Aside from so much telling and the hundred or more pages it could easily lose and be more impactful, I was bored through a lot of it. That actually would have been okay, if it weren’t for the rest, and from this point on there will be spoilers.

Jude and Esther meet when she's 17 and he's 27. They're clearly drawn to each other but Jude knows better. After she turns 21, Esther tells Jude she doesn’t like sex and shares an event as a teen that put her off it. Jude decides he'll help Esther overcome her trauma and feelings about sex. Kind of a desensitization program. He admits many times he has no idea what he's doing and states repeatedly that he'll never have a relationship with Esther. Physical is all there will ever be.

However, it's clear to the reader that there's an emotional connection and feelings are involved. Rather than working through things together, they go on with their separate lives, which includes Jude sleeping with groupies and tag-teaming one with his band mate, Levi, who is also Esther’s half brother. (Sorry, that's just ick and not romance.)

By the time I got to 70%, I was asking myself why I was still reading. The characters were immature and selfish, they'd shown little growth so far, and the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. At best, it was opportunistic and disingenuous on Jude's part, and at worst it was selfish and bordering on grooming with zero thought for Esther and how it might affect her.

Honestly I was done with this one long before I gave up, still holding out hope for some kind of redemption. At this point though, I was just over these unlikable characters and annoyed I had spent time on this when I could have been reading something I enjoyed. But this was a freebie, so I guess that's one redeeming quality.

I cannot express how much I loved reading Until Jude. I’m no stranger to K.L. Shandwick’s rock star romances. I find her stories to be emotional and realistic - some of the best I have ever read. I always hand over my heart to her leading men once I get to know them. However, I can't deny that Jude Collymore has taken the top spot. He’s my favourite of them all and you’ll understand why once you meet him!

Jude is the drummer of the band Screaming Shadows who are at the top of their game. His friendship with frontman Levi is one that many will envy. Brothers in every sense but blood, I absolutely love how they look out for each other. I’ll just mention here that I cannot wait for Levi’s story and am thankful that this will be released next. I absolutely adore Jude’s mature and caring nature, and it is this side of his personality what helps make this story the perfect slow burn romance that it is.

I adore Esther. She’s incredibly talented and shows maturity beyond her years. The chemistry between Esther and Jude is off the charts and after reading some of their scenes you will be needing a cold shower. Holy hotness. There are some very sensual moments which are perfectly written and show Jude and Esther’s relationship beautifully.

There was no denying the sizzling attraction between Jude and Esther. However, there are obstacles in the way of the pair starting a relationship and I love how the author addresses them. As with all of K.L. Shandwick’s novels this is more than just a rock star romance. I highly recommend that you read Until Jude, and I award this incredible narrative the 5 stars it truly deserves.

I loved this, Jude and Esther are definitely up there with my favourites from KL Shandwick!

Slow burn, age gap, best friends sister, rockstar romance.... Until Jude had lots of things I love and I was very excited for this new series. Set over a time span of several years, I loved the angst, emotion and drama, mixed with the fiery hot chemistry Jude and Esther generated.  Esther was young when first introduced, only 17 when she meets her brother Levi (Jude's best friend and band mate) for the first time under heartbreaking circumstances, but she instantly forms a connection with Jude. She is sweet, kind, shy and innocent and Jude is determined not to be the one to corrupt her!

I loved Jude, he was an a-hole at times but a loveable, protective one who seriously tried hard to control and deny his attraction for Esther for good reasons that were very well addressed throughout. You could see his growth as a person as the book progressed, especially with his adorable son Bailey. Esther also flourished and although innocent in some ways, she was mature in others and with her talent was determined to succeed on her own terms. As the trust between them grew, I knew it was only a matter of time before the fire between them could not be denied any more.

I love how this author writes characters that despite their rock star status and all the privileges and ego that could come with this, are far from perfect with flaws and all. They make mistakes like any other person, so always seem relatable and likeable. I really enjoyed this and with the other drama relating to the band and especially Levi, I can't wait for what comes next!

3.75 ⭐️ age gap, brother’s best friend, rock star slow burn romance. Esther has had a crutch on Jude since she was a teenager. At the age of 17 her half brother becomes her guardian. Jude is the typical rockstar who parties with the boys and has endless ladies. The tension between Jude and Esther is something that was pretty much there from the beginning even though he knows she’s too young for him.

5 Star Review Until Jude (PulseTunes Rock Gods #1) by K L Shandwick
There is something about K L Shandwick’s style of writing that resonates with me. Her writing is strong with characters who you cannot help but fall for.
Jude Collymore is a drummer with the band Screaming Shadows but he is not your typical rock star. He doesn’t play the field and in his world he is an exception rather than the rule. He has no plans to settle down until he meets Esther Milligan, a woman who should be off limits and yet the attraction that sizzles between them is impossible to ignore.
This slow burn romance was well written, with plenty of heart and soul and was an entertaining read that got to me on a number of levels. Loved this one from start to finish and cannot wait to dive in to more in the series.

A wonderful slow burn romance from KL Shandwick.
Jude and Esther have a great chemistry but there's an age difference.
Jude is happy with his life as the drummer of Screaming Shadows and in his mind a wife and kids is not on the cards.
For Esther been thrust into the life of a rock band is the last thing she thought would happen, she has her own aspirations in life and is determined to fulfil them but she has also had a crush on Jude for as long as she can remember.
Jude fighting his feelings and circumstances keep them apart but for how long. If it's meant to be love will always find its way through.

An amazing start to this new series and I'm so excited for more from the guys of Screaming Shadows.

A very slow burn with great tension and chemistry with the Hero, Jude and heroine, Esther. I actually had some issues with the writing and almost gave up on this one a few times. I am glad I pushed through because the writing did get much better as the story progressed.

It's been so freaking long since I had a book from this author that I was so excited about it.
I've not read many books from her, but the ones I have were awesome.
KL Shandwick is the author in question and her writing is off the charts.
It has all the components to create a masterpiece and you need to give her a chance.
Until Jude is her latest release and it's the first book from the PulseTunes Rock Gods series.
This book explores the lives of Jude and Esther.
Jude is a rock god. He's an excellent drum player and he's well-liked in the women's department.
He doesn't want commitment, it's just a one-time-only thing and then he's done.
But his mind changed as soon as he meets Esther.
But can he jeopardize his career, his friendship, his life?
Esther had her life all planned out. She was going to graduate high school, and go to a dance school to follow her dream. But she saw her life-changing the day her mom died.
Now, since she's a minor she needs to live with her brother, a brother she hadn't met personally.
But here's the thing, he's a famous rock star and she doesn't know how her life is going to be.
When she sees Jude in the flesh, her heart skipped a bit because she was a fan, and now...
I'm on cloud nine... This book was amazing.
Stellar plot, well written, super engaging, and intense.
Each chapter was even more addictive than the previous and I couldn't stop reading.
It was an intense chapter after the other and that made reading this book so much more perfect.
This book gives us love, loyalty, friendship as well as dreams, desire and so much more.
I was so into the story that got made each time I was interrupted.
The characters worked perfectly with each other and you can feel right along with them.
Their emotions, their struggles are real and I saw myself wanting to help them.
Crazy right?
Overall, it was another amazing book that left me wanting more.
Please KL... Hurry. I need Levi.

Esther and Jude's story was emotional, due to circumstances Esther finds herself moving with her barely new known brother, who happens to be in a band with Jude, who is Esther's crush. Their age-gap is quite an interesting point to the story, and so that it takes a while for them to overcome everything to be together. The chemistry is there, yet everyone thinks it won't work, yet they complete each other in ways that you will love. It's a sweet deep slow-burn rockstar romance that you will enjoy from start to finish.

I'm so happy that KL Shandwick decided to write more bad boy rock stars, she has a true talent for it, hold on to your pearls ladies, Jude is dayum hot....

Surrounded by the madness of world wide fame Jude from Screaming Shadows recognises the excesses around him, there is too much alcohol, too many drugs and so many girls all available, all of the time. At the age of 29 he has learned that he has to have some self respect or he could easily drown, so he tries hard to have balance, he doesn't always behave, but he does try...

Unexpected circumstances finds Esther face to face with her life long crush Jude from Screaming Shadows. She is trying hard to come across as a cool 17 year old and not a nervous bumbling little girl, poor thing she keeps freezing in front of all those hot guys. But she is stronger than she knows as she learns to navigate this new life, she is a dancer and a musician herself after all.

At the heart of this story is an intense attraction between two people at the wrong time and place. As both Jude and Esther resist and deny their feelings for each other, for ages we are swept up in this roller coaster.
I have to say, this story has so much depth, so many layers, but it's also one of the hottest books I've had the pleasure of reading for a while.

Oh this was my first KL Shandwick book, but I love all things rockstar, so I was excited to dive into this this book.

Jude was a famous rockstar dead set on staying single after a bitter break up with an old girlfriend. He also has his hands full with the other guys in the band, especially his best friend Levi. Enter Esther, a young but mature girl who's always had a crush on Jude. This is a slow burn, friends to lovers, that spans several years, (I did say slow burn, ha ha). With lots of twists and turns to their story, you will experience lots of emotions, waiting to see if they get their happily ever after.

I was pleasantly surprised with their story, even though at times I wanted to say "enough already, hook up please!" But it was well worth the wait when they finally figured it all out! The other band members and their manager's characters and hints of their stories are developed throughout the book, leaving you wanting more about all of them and looking forward to their stories.

I highly recommend this first book of KL Shandwick's rockstar series and would give it 5+ stars. I am anxiously awaiting the next installment in the series. Well done KL!!

No one writes Rockstar romances like K.L Shandwick in fact I believe her to be the Queen of these genre. So to say I was excited for her new series Pulse/Tunes Rock Gods was an understatement and all I’m going to say is Until Jude was everything I expected and so much more. If Jude Collymore and Esther Milligan’s slow burn romance is anything to go by, Ms Shandwick will certainly have another hit series on her hands.
Jude is the drummer with the Screaming Shadows but he is not your typical rockstar, his life is private and he is not a womaniser but that doesn’t mean he is looking to settle down. Happy with his life he is not looking for a relationship until he meets Esther but this woman should be off limits ……..
From the moment they meet sparks fly, the attraction is instant and the chemistry is intense but is the timing right.
This book ticked all my boxes, I adored the characters and I loved watching this relationship grow throughout this emotional read and I’m excited for what’s to come next in this new series

⛔️ (in notes)
“Just asked him if he was dating right now and if not, could I come and hang out and he could give me that one he owed me.”
“You did not!”
“Of course, I did. He’s a fucking rock star, Esther. I even offered to blow him sometime.”

- I can’t read this book where h is friends with such a little teenage whore who talks like that, I was cringing non-stop. And afterwards h was dared to put on a tiny bikini and strut in front of H, mind you she’s seventeen and he’s of course older, doesn’t she understand that it’s totally inappropriate and he only sees her as his friends little sister, she’s acting like a little brat, an idiot. I thought she was meant to be this nice girl with a good head on her shoulders but it all changed after I learned what kind of friend she has and that she’s a little seducer wannabe for an older man

Wow wow wow………if anyone knows how to write a ‘Rockstar romance’ it’s KL Shandwick!!!!!!!!! I voluntarily read this book as an ARC………….Rock band Screaming Shadows is going places and the ‘boys’ are enjoying the the sex drugs rock ‘n’ roll vibe but to put a spanner in the works (Levi the singer) gets a phone call and then in comes shy recluse Esther mix her together with Jude the drummer and you got a whole lot of 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 Jude feels like Esther is too young for him so still sleeps with the hang around groupies trying to convince himself that Esther doesn’t mean anything to him…a lot of hot dancing and time together sees a different outcome 😜😜😜 this book is a MUST READ and please tell me book 2 Until Levi will be out asap 🤤🤤😜🥵

No one writes a rockstar quite like KL Shandwick and Until Jude didn’t disappoint. Jude and Esther are an unlikely duo given the circumstances that drove her to being surrounded by the members of the band Screaming Shadows. The chemistry between them is on display for all to see but giving in to it isn’t an option. Sit back and enjoy the slow burn the antics of your next favourite rockstars.

This is a very fast paced book. K.L. Shandwick did a wonderful job telling the story. I can not wait to read more in this series and hear the other characters stories.

Jude found Levi in the restroom after getting a call from their manager. He was concerned when Levi hadn't returned to their after-party and hoped the call hadn't been about their unprofessional set. Now he looks like he's been bawling.

Jude is the drummer for their band the Screaming Shadows and he can't imagine what has their front man so distraught. Levi has been best friends with Levi since they were kids and they are just finding out that Levi has a half-sister. The call had been from Child Protective Services wanting Levi to be her legal guardian.

Levi is in shock that if the girl's mother hadn't passed away he would never have known he had a sister. Even on his father's deathbed, he had never indicated that one of his affairs had resulted in a child.

Esther was four months from turning eighteen and when Child Protective Services asked about any relatives she gave them Levi's name. She had been staying with her best friend, but it was considered an unstable home since her father had a record. She just needed a place to stay until graduating and going to college where she had a full dance scholarship at Julliard.

When she arrives to meet Levi she is speechless as the man of her dreams opens the door. Standing before her is the man she has fantasized about since she was thirteen. Jude...the drummer for the Screaming Shadows. His poster is still hanging on her bedroom wall. Then she finds out that the brother she was told never wanted to meet her actually hadn't known that she existed.

I loved Esther and Jude's story! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. When I read that Jude and Levi grew up in Port St. Lucie FL, I had to laugh as I lived there for thirty years so I felt even more in touch with these characters. Not only does this book have a wonderful storyline, but I love the close relationship these guys have.

This book is action-packed from page one. It is a world of rock-n-roll - drugs, girls, partying - and these guys take full advantage of their celebrity status. Esther is a seventeen innocent girl thrown into the world of men with no filters. I love how Esther was able to hold her own with these band members.

Jude is the ultimate gorgeous rocker who has women throwing themselves and him and taking full advantage of it. But his band is his family and the second he sees Esther his protective instincts come out. And despite his hedonistic lifestyle he is determined to keep away from Esther. Not only is she his best friend's younger sister, but she is ten years his junior.

This book is smoking hot and full of surprises. Can't wait to read Levi's story!

It's just an amazing story.

One thing that I liked about this story in general is that it isn't your typical start to a rockstar series. The series normally starts with the lead singer of the band. This, however, starts with the drummer, so I found it drew me in even more.

A slow burn story with an age gap love. If you like these kinds of stories, you won't be left disappointed.

Jude is Levi's best friend, and when his world comes crashing down on him and family secrets exposed, Jude is there to help guide and support him. Little did he know that the secret exposed would be one he had to try and fight his feelings for. Esther is Levi's little sister. A sister he didn't know existed. When her mum dies, she needs a guardian to look after her till she turns 18 or she will go into Foster care. Trying his best to fight his feelings for her, Jude tries to do the right thing. For her and his friend. But that sizzle of romance starts to burn. Can he keep fighting it, or will he let go into temptation.

I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Another good rockstar read from KL Shandwick, a slow burn / age-gap romance with lots going on that will keep those pages turning and your interest piqued!

Jude is the drummer in the rock group Screaming Shadows - he's not a relationship guy, he's happy to be where he is in his band with the hordes of women who throw themselves at him. Levi is the singer in the band, they've known each other a long time and are more like brothers - so when Levi receives some distressing news Jude is there for him.

Esther is the younger 17 yr old stepsister that Levi didn't know existed, until her mother dies, and she has no one else to turn to but him. The only thing they have in common is their waste of a space father - what does a rocker know about looking after a 17 yr old? But all his crew are there for them both, including Jude, who is instantly attracted to Esther, who unsurprisingly has a crush on him. She is very young and inexperienced in many things in her life and gets thrown in the deep end living with the band for a year until she is old enough to look after herself. She has her own plans of dancing and college ahead of her, except her feelings for Jude keep getting in the way.

These two have a sizzling connection, but Jude knows she is too young for him, but is always there for her offering care and advice. Esther has the hots for him something chronic, but again knows how inexperienced she is and couldn't possibly compete with all the other women Jude has had. Everyone around them can see the chemistry they have, knowing something will happen sooner or later.

I really enjoyed this one, it's a long book set over a few years so there are lots of background, characters, the band, personal lives and family aspects all intertwined in this story. With plenty of twists and turns along the way that keep the reader engaged and interested, it really was an enjoyable read with so many different aspects to get your teeth into.

I look forward to reading the next one in this series all about Levi - here's hoping he's managed to sort himself out a bit and get to know his sister a little better.

Warning: long review ahead

I'm new to this author and this series, so I went in somewhat blindly with the exception of a few reviews. Let's start with the writing style. It was weird for a while. I didn't know if I could get used to it, but eventually, I did. I really don't know how to describe it other than odd. With that being said, it was a little difficult to actually get into the book. Once I did, I enjoyed the beginning and was hopeful for a great storyline/ characters. It was a different take on a Rockstar romance, which I was happy with until I wasn't. This book was the definition of slow burn, which I normally enjoy, but this just seemed to drag on and on and on with no real substance. Most of the book is told by Jude's ( mmc) pov, which I normally don't mind, but with this one, it took away from Esther and her character depth. I couldn't relate to her all, and she honestly seemed flat to me. I did not feel the chemistry between the two like the author intended. For one, we read about how they spent time together but never actually got to see it except the trip to New York. For a book this long, I definitely expected to read more about their time together instead of just imagining it. Instead, we get all of Judes' life and how many people he's sleeping with, how he feels, what he wants and doesn't want, blah blah blah. For a man in his late 20s or early 30s, by the time the book is finished, he was incredibly immature. Matter of fact, the whole band was immature. At one point, they discussed a woman having thick, curly pubic hair and how that was disgusting. These are supposed to be men in their 30s. Grow up. Also, for a Rockstar romance, what kind of rock do they play ? They are dealscribed as big rock stars, but never once what type of rock they played or any lyrics to go along with it. All that was said was they hated slipknot. Now on to Esther, she was like I said, just flat." She actually aggravated me because she seemed a bit selfish and pretty much did use her brother until she turned 18. She didn't seem all that interested in getting to know her long-lost brother at all or what his life was like then and now. Yet we focused heavily on Judes life. The balance wasn't there. Not to mention, I understand she had something "traumatic" happen, but personally, I think it was ridiculous. Just thrown in there if you will. She said several times, " I know I'm not enough for you," and never once did Jude correct her or deny that. By the time they finally got together, it was around 80% and was the most anticlimactic scene I think I've ever read. I almost dnf'ed this book, but I'm really trying not to do that this year. Overrall this book is not as good as I wanted it to be, and I will probably not read Levi's book because based on his character in this one, he doesn't interest me. Not to mention, I'd rather watch paint dry than read another almost 500-page book where nothing happens and the characters are forced. I know this sounds harsh, but this book was just overrall boring. I feel the author tried to create tension and drama from the wrong areas, and it just didn't bode well with me as a reader. Anyways maybe you'll like it more than me.

It has been a while since I've read a story by this author. It was a slow burn romance and a long book but it kept me engaged throughout. I loved the chemistry between Jude & Esther but also how she was portrayed as I loved her sasiness and persistence. In one way or another you could relate to her and what she was going through 'cuz at one point in your life you deal with personally at some level. A great book and can't wait to see what happens next in this series.

When Levi learns he has a sister and she'll have to live with him or go to a home, he'll bring her on tour with the band. As Ether is adjusting to her new life, it's hard not knowing anyone but being around Jude somehow makes it better, even though there's an age gap between them. Both have gone through a lot which seems to create a bond between them although Jude doesn't want to cross any lines. With time passing by, the attraction between them becomes undeniable but time doesn't seem to be on their side. Will they find their way to each other?...

This was special

I loved this book through and through. The drama, romance and chemistry is epic in this story. It reads like a movie and one that i really wish gets made. I loved Jude. He is strong, charming, mature and knows how to respect the significant other. I love how he handles difficult situations especially. On the other hand, i love Esther, she is vulnerable yet very strong. Her character develops immensely in this book.
Loved it soo much.
