The Edge of it All" bereits in meiner Mosauran-Serie erhältlich. **

Claimed de Jessica Grayson y Aria Winter Serie Ice World Warriors libro1

Argumento:

A Wonderful love

This was a wonderful, sweet love story with a satisfying steamy scene to fulfill the love of the MCs.

I’ve read this author before and I freakin adore how well she world-builds, creates characters with depth and personality and slowly builds a deep emotional connection between them. This was a great beginning to a new series and I can’t wait to read more.

There are spoilers below with trigger warnings. Proceed at your own risk.

Hero wasn’t a man skank, nothing is mentioned about his past, it’s possible he might have been a virgin since his species don’t devalue and degrade sex by treating it as a meaningless exchange of bodily fluids. heroine was a virgin. Heroine was kidnapped and held as a slave, there was no sexual assault but she was physically and emotionally abused and scarred. This story includes elements of slavery, abuse and torture. No ow/om. No cheating of any kind. HEA but no epilogue as series continues.

This was a good read. There was a lack of excitement for me and at times it felt familiar. Even with those issues I would not call this a bad read, just not a read I found myself unable to put down.

Happy reading,

Claimed is a book that’s both soft and harsh. The harsh part is the beginning, where our heroine Lara is kidnapped by slavers and awakens from interstellar statis travel to a brutal fate as a source of blood for a vampiric race. Grayson and Winter don’t cut any corners in the first fifth of Claimed; we experience the cruelty inflicted on Lara as everything is told from her POV. So many times in SF romance we come in at the tail end of a period of slavery for a main character, where things are just alluded to. Here we go through it all, and it can be tough to read.

But once Lara crash-lands on a planet featuring a number of races including the Mosaurans of earlier books by Grayson, we almost get a reward for getting through those bleak passages. Our Mosauran hero Markus is a model of kindness and gentility to Lara, and the plot then centers around their mutual discovery of their fated attachment as well as trying to find out what happened to all the other slaves who crash-landed in escape pods on the ice planet as Lara did.

I can clearly see future books about the other slaves, and I really look forward to how they interact with the different races from Grayson and Winter’s previous books (who were all sucked into the same wormhole that made them crash on this planet). There’s almost a sense of a new, blended society being formed in this fierce, cold world, and that looks like a fascinating idea to explore.

Lara and Markus are interesting and generous characters, and reading their slide into love is a wonderful counterpart to the tough beginnings of this book. It will be interesting to see how future books unfold as they focus on this brutal planet they’re all trying to survive.

Claimed is a great start to a new series, and one that sets up a really intriguing premise. Can’t wait to see more in this world!

meh

Spice level: avocado

You have to get to 92% of the book for any payout and let me tell you this is an alien book but you wouldn’t know. I don’t know if he is alien at all other than he can shape shift into a dragon because all their words are so common and the FMC weak and just oh okay this is life this is nice and questions really nothing. There isn’t really any overall plot here because so much takes place off page then is just oh yeah btw here ya go.

I am not bothering with the rest of the series as this was a giant waste of time. I was at least hoping for a genuinely steamy scene.

The wonderful world of Richard scarry is spicier.

Mythical creatures

This is a new-to-me author. I enjoyed this story that contains many different types of aliens that resemble some of our paranormal creatures such as vampire, dragon, fae, werewolf etc.
Some are full enemies and some are in the 'not friends but not enemies either" stage.
The Terran (human) space explorers were kidnapped and sold into slavery to a vampire like race.. Then that ship is pulled into a wormhole and their escape pods crash on an ice planet filled with these other races of alien.
The main character is Lara and she is saved by a dragon like shifter whose name is Markus.
I loved this story and I am very interested to find out what happened to the other Terran people.

Too short.
No character development.
Scarce and unimaginative world building.
Where was the plot?

It was an ok start up until she met the love interest.
Everything interesting was glossed over or the author jumped in time without us as a reader being able to experience it, instead it was told in a few short sentences.
Too superficial in its descriptions, me as a reader wasn’t able to imagine the world, to live through the characters, to feel what they felt and experienced.

The most horrible part?
I recommend reading the blurbs of the following books. They sound all the same, with simply different characters. But the bloody same words and the bloody same story. This is one of the poorest and saddest “book series” I have ever seen.

Fairly good book

It was interesting and Markus was such a gentleman. I hope everyone is rescued from those vile creatures. I'll be trying the next book and I must say Jessica Grayson is a great writer in my opinion.

The story concept is good but I just found the telling of the story to simple. I just found it missing something, and even though I had no trouble reading the story it was lacking

2,5. It wasn't bad but it was very fast forward and because of that it was difficult to really connect with the characters and their feelings. Iam maybe a little biased because i loved "The edge of it all" with the same Mosauran-alien storyline and in comparison this story was a little lacking.

Alien dragon romance

Who doesn't want a muscled winged dragon man to save you from vampire slavers. The book was a little to sweet for my taste but it is a good and light with a little fluff at the end.

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was fairly clean, with only the occasional typo that will hopefully be fixed in the retail version. The world building was competent, with this cold world beset by severe storms being fairly well described. The characterization was competent, with the hero and heroine especially being a sympathetic individuals with some nuance. The development of the romantic relationship was a slow burn, with a heat level of two to three chili peppers. The plot was the highlight of the novel, being exciting and full of action. As a consequence, the pacing was really quick. There was low angst and high stakes throughout this novel, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Crash Landed trope and the Fated Mates trope. The world building, plot, and pacing were all four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also four stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I will probably buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

This is the first book I've read by this author, and my first dragon shifter romance, and I am in love! Jessica Grayson has created a vibrant and elaborate world of different alien species based on paranormal myths- dragons, elves, vampires, werewolves, and fae- each with their own species names of course, and their own cultures. Just like in our world, there are species that don't get along, those that have a fragile truce, and those that are enemies. Some species are very honorable and are willing to help others simply because it is the right thing to do, and there is one that is more predatory, enslaving others and causing pain simply because they can and enjoy doing so. One book is definitely not enough to completely explore this wonderful world she has created, and I am beyond excited that there will be four other books, each focusing on a different species. This one focuses on the Mosaura- strong honorable warriors who can transform into dragons, and have dragon-like features in their normal bipedal forms.

The characters are attractive and engaging. Markus is the hero of this book, and I love that he doesn't feel like an average human man but with non-human features. From how the Mosasura buff their scales to a shine to attract females, to their different coloring, to their mating and nesting habits, it feels like a different culture- one I loved learning about beyond getting to know the male himself. Lara is the heroine and suffered a horrible experience kidnapped, enslaved, and tortured, but she doesn't let fear and sorrow rule her. She is smart and strong and willing to pull her own weight, even as Markus would prefer her to remain behind and stay protected. We get to see some of the other species inhabiting the planet, and those we don't are described well. I can't wait until the next book! Definitely give this one a read! 5 stars!

New author to me. Solid writing. Decent world building. Intriguing. But because I'm a picky reader it wasn't even a 3 star read for me.

It had all the usual moving parts and like I mentioned above it was intriguing. Tons of potential. I think my biggest issue with the book was the length. Because the book wasn't as long as most paranormal books it suffered from feeling too fast paced. We didn't get much action going on because of this. And I suppose it messed with the MCs relationship progression a bit too.

I wasn't really feeling the mate bond between Markus and Lara. They were cute...well Markus was cute. Lara was simply ok. She pulled the usual role in these tropes and suddenly becomes the stubborn refuses to be left being female and quasi leader for her humans. Expected? Yes. Was it a good look on her? Eh, not really.

Markus as I said was quite cute with his thoughts and preening for her. Truthfully he was just TOO nice for my personal tastes. So polite and respectful. Meh, I expected more edginess with the mate bond playing a part but it wasn't there. And while his backstory had some sad angsty tidbits due to the pacing of the story I didn't FEEL anything when it was revealed. Just learning facts. 🤷‍♀️

Markus had no idea what kissing was and so barely anything sexual or kissing related happened until 70% and that was barely. Then by about 90% they screw like bunnies and complete the mate bond and admit I love yous. Truthfully I was a bit bored by then.

I did feel for Lara and her experience being kidnapped and basically assaulted by the A'Kai race which were vampires but worse. Did I like her though? Not really.

Overall this book was decent. Pretty okay read. It could have used some more fleshing out and little less repetitive scenes and dialogue.

I'll check out maybe one or two more in the series and see if it picks up.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with!
YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!
Paranormal myths- dragons, elves, vampires, werewolves, and fae- each with their own species names of course, and their own cultures. Just like in our world, there are species that don't get along, those that have a fragile truce, and those that are enemies. Also, like us some very honorable and are willing to help others simply because it is the right thing to do, and there are others that seek to take advantage of others, take from others, use others for whatever they deem and causing pain simply because they can and enjoy doing so. Laura was on a ship that was destroyed by a wormhole created by vampires captured via escape pods and are being held in cages and tortured, but she doesn't let fear and sorrow rule her. Markus is this sexy as all get out rescuer, a Mosauran Dragon warrior, he eliminates her attackers saving her. The chemistry is instant and intense more intense for him considering she is his mate even though she doesn’t know what that means yet, but she will soon. She is smart, strong, and willing to do her part, although she brings out every protective instinct, he would prefer she stay behind him where she is protected. Can he convince her they belong together, and will she finally find some type of happiness and peace after going through what she has been through?

I’ve not read any books from this author before but if they are anything like this one then I know I will definitely enjoy reading them. The world building is fantastic, with several species of aliens and animals. The book features fated mates/ashaya, steamy scenes and a happily ever after ending.
When Lara is sold as a slave the A’kai who bought her quickly realises she is Terran, his species has figured out that drinking a terrans blood can heal them instantly of even serious injuries. Lara aswell as at least 20 other terrans are on the A’kai’s ship when it gets irreparably damaged and they have to abandon ship. They crash land on a planet covered in snow, when Lara wakes the A’kai she is with is unconscious and she tries to go and leave him to burn, however he grabs her and aims to kill her. Fortunately Markus saves her and kills the A’kai, he quickly takes her to an outpost and gives her a healing gel. Lara is petrified at first by Markus, who realises she is his ashaya, vows to never harm her. They are unable to make it to their compound due to a storm but search for her fellow terrans everyday. They grow closer and closer and when forced to face several enemies Markus saves her. One of them becomes their allies when another Terran female is found dead, drained of her blood and frozen in the snow. They vow to find the rest of Lara’s people and once able to return to their home in the mountains, Markus has others of his crew set out to find the women aswell.

The last thing Lara knew was that she had entered cryostasis on her trip from Mars back to Earth. Now she is waking up in a cage on an alien ship being held captive by lizaed-like aliens. There is a fellow Terran in a neighboring cage who lets her know what is going on and gives her advice. This woman had gone missing 10 years ago but she looks the same as she did 10 years ago. Both the Terran women are sold as slaves. Lara was bought by a vampire like species who want to breed her and drink her blood. She spends 6 months being tortured until their ship is destroyed by and unexpected wormhole. She and her captor take an emergency pod down to an ice planet. Her captor is about to drain her of all blood when an alien covered with scales rescues her. and kills the bad guy. Markus is a Mosauran Dragon warrior and he promises to keep her safe and look for the other Terran people who crashed on the planet.

Markus was surprised by what he found when he investigated a pod crash on his planet. At first he thought Lara was a member of an enemy alien species but he quickly learned she was from an unknown planet. To his shock, he discovered that this Terran woman is his Ashaya, his fated mate. Mosauran Dragon warriors have never mated outside their species before. Now he has to protect Lara and convince her that they are meant to be together.

Out of the vampire's frying pan and into the dragon's fire

Lara left Mars on the return trip and woke up in a whole other galaxy. Sadly, they weren't the good guys. Neither were the ones who bought them. But, just as things looked completely bleak, the ship crashed. Usually that's not good news but in this case it lead to her freedom. Because this planet might be filled with refugees but they all hate slavers. And have a kill on sight order.

Spoilers ahead.
I've read Grayson's original V'loryn series and the spin offs. This one was co-authored with someone who co-authors another dragon series. It's like the 2 series merged. The influence changes the tone from the main series and the co-author has a tendency to greatly abbreviate stories. There's a lot of skipping around. Warnings for alluded to sexual assault. When they're purchased they're stripped and humiliated by bathing in front of others. But what is overheard in an adjoining room was the assault I mention. While not witnessed, it may be triggering for sensitive readers. What they endure is mental attacks and unwilling, and painful, blood donations in complete terror. There was plans for more but it doesn't occur. Other rescues may not be as lucky, but I'm not sure I'm continuing this branch. While Grayson's main series, and the spin off, is detailed and well plotted, the clipped writing in this joined one isn't as enjoyable.

So here is an interesting book by Jessica Grayson. So we have a planet that is surrounded by ice and snow. We also have some warriors from different races stranded on this planet. They have been there for some years and living off the planet. Then we have Lara who captured and sold. She is human and the aliens that that she was another species. Well her new master knows what she is and is trying to pry some information from her. Her master is like an elf vampire. It is weird. However, the ship she is on is under attack and she escapes with her master and lands on this ice planet. Markus is a warrior that is a dragon on this planet. He sees the crash and goes to investigate. He did not expect to find what he did. He rescues Lara and they must wait out the snow storm. In the meantime something else is going on. It seems like we have a physical attraction going on. As they get to know each other and figure out if anymore of the people survived. We meet the other races and get a better understanding of what had happened before Lara got there. So we also find out that Markus has found a mate and its Lara. Well will she be able to find her friends with the help of Markus and his men. We do get a happily ever after but what about the others.

The premise of this story is great—most books in the series take place on an isolated planet where several different species of aliens crash landed. Some of the aliens were actively at war with each other before crashing while others are wary of the other—few are allies. This means the aliens are in unfamiliar territory same as the human women that were stuck on the planet too and this evens the field a bit for all of the characters.

This series follows a very similar story arc as other alien romances—human women get kidnapped by hostile aliens, end up enslaved, and are rescued by a different, nicer, alien species. So that isn’t unique but it is handled well.

I liked the world and the characters but the dialogue is a little sappy/cringey and repetitive. The characters fall immediately in love with each other since fated mates are involved and I think the dialogue takes away from the in-world realism a bit. This “instant love” is common in books of this genre, and I think it is handled better then many others series I’ve tried to read. So a quick, enjoyable, read, but with dialogue issues. I looked ahead and read in reviews that at least the next book in the series repeats phrases from this one which is too bad.

“Fated To A Dragon Warrior by Jessica Grayson & Aria Winter.” Loved the book I just wished it was longer it, the story pulls you in from the start and keeps you captivated until the end. Kyra was captured and treated like a slave by the Zovian they all were malnourished and dehydrated, straight away they were whisked away from their cages to hide in the walls to hide from the Mosaurans, traveling through the sovereign space of the Mosauran Empire.” they are to check spaceships to make sure there is no slaves when Ronin smells something blood and something sweet he has never smelt anything like before so he goes towards the smell, Kara yelled out for everyone to be rescued not caring about herself so when she yelled for help she ended up badly injured, Ronin grabbed her and took her to their spaceship to get their healer to look at her she was bleeding internally and a lot of broken bones. Kara was put in a machine to see if they could fix her, Ronin was not going to leave her side she was his Ashaya his mate. What is going to happen to them? will Kara survive?

OMG!!! I loved Markus and Lara. Lara is a human who was abducted while she was in stasis traveling between Mars and Earth. She has spent a lot of time as a blood slave, and is regularly in fear of her life. When the ship she is on crashes, she is rescued by a different type of alien, one who abhors the slavers.
Markus has been trapped on this ice planet for years after his space ship was sucked into a wormhole. He is originally from Mosaura, and is a mighty warrior, and a shifter able to take on a form similar to a dragon.
I appreciated that while they were very nervous about communicating about their attraction to each other, their communication in other areas was amazing and they worked hard not to have misunderstandings. Looking forward to reading more books in this series.

This is the story of Lara who was returning to earth after a mission to Mars when she was abducted. She finds herself trapped on an Alien ship caged by hostiles. Lara is a pretty resilient girl, Her focus is on trying to stay alive long enough to evade her captors. She has a lot to go through before she meets her guy. This isn’t a case of Stockholm syndrome. I felt her story was very intriguing, there was a lot of world building going on and character development for Lara. The romance was a touch rushed but it is a shorter story and there is only so much you can do in under 200 pages. I really did enjoy it and I’m curious about what happened to the other people she was with when she was abducted. So I am looking forward to the next book.

Great Read.

Great story and adventure. Wonderful characters and a thoroughly enjoyable read. This tells the story of Laura, who along with many others, had been brought by a nasty vampire race. The women are taken to escape pods when their ship is destroyed by a wormhole. We meet Markus, who rescues her and kills the bad guy, but sadly he is just one of many. There are other groups stuck on this planet and eventually they agree to find her friends and get rid of the vampires. You already know that Roken has imprinted on Emma! :) Then there is Alana who appears to be Vorek's mate! Can't wait to read more of this series.

Like a very solid 3 stars. I liked it. I'm not raving mad about it but it was good. It feels like too setty uppy lmao (yes those are the words I chose). Very oprah, you get a mate, you get a mate, kind of situation. There also wasn't a ton of character interaction, there is SOME and so it could go into the direction of a community series rather than all the big dicks in each tribe getting the first girl they come across while they are somehow separated from the larger group but we will see.

It was a slower build instead of a crash/bang/explosion type of thing. The guy was also a bit softer than I had anticipated. I'm hoping the next has a bit more likeable angst and a bit more edge with the guy.

Start of a New Series . . .

Lara was put into cryosleep for the journey from Mars to Earth. But waking in a cage, captured by slavers, and a meal for vampires is not the image you want to be drawn to! It was almost a blessing when their captor’s ship crashed on an ice planet.

Lara is rescued by Markus, a Mosauran Dragon warrior who is also stranded along with his people. Markus tells Lara she is his “Ashaya”, or fated one made just for him. He will protect her. Is she ready to accept her new life with him? It won’t be an easy one with so many alien races, some peaceful but some not. But it will be filled with adventure!

Lara has woken up to a complete nightmare. She has been stolen and is now a slave. She is sold to Falen, an A'kai, who we would probably describe as a vampire. Bruise and treated poorly there is no escape but at least she has fellow women there, although all in the same situation. An emergency with a wormhole and she is trust into a pod with Falen only to crash on a strange planet. Markus feels the pull of something when he sees a streak of light in the sky, little does he know that it holds his future. He decides to go to meet it and finds Lara and an A'kai. Will Lara be able to trust another alien to quickly and what does this pull mean for Markus and his people?

This is a Dragon Shifter Romance story for Markus and Lara. Okay I loved this book even with the creepy vampire aliens that are so scary I screamed a little with Lara and the other women that had to be in the hands of those creeps. I loved how the aliens trapped on the planet are all working together when saving all the humans.

Great start to a new series that takes heroine navigator Lara through the trauma of being abducted
by alien slavers to being stranded on a planet of alien warriors where she meets her fated Mosauran mate Markus. The authors have crafted an engaging story with solid world building, action, adventure and a sensual romance that will fulfill every reader’s desire for a well told immersive story. HEA
