I was pleasantly surprised. Wright saved the best for last. The heroine, Natalya, and hero, Gray, felt mature, in control of their desires and responses and honest. I guess age makes a difference. One of the best components of the book was the differing antagonists for each setting. In France, they faced one problem, in England they had to resolve another and finally in Philadelphia, they took care of the main foil. Every setting had it's purpose to the story- France was the connection, England was desire and Philadelphia was the love. I especially enjoyed the lack of famous characters making an appearance and silliness of trying to place fake characters in real historical plots. Instead, the war of 1812 served as backdrop to a sweet love story. Overall, great read and touching closing to the Beauvisage family's story
