When You Want to Start Taking Care of Yourself, Read This Book

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. As someone who has been exploring DIY hair care after experiencing hair loss and CCCA, I found it both educational and inspiring.

What I appreciated most is that the author does not simply provide recipes to copy. Instead, she explains ingredients, percentages, INCI names, formulation techniques, and the role each ingredient plays in a product. As the author mentions, the goal is not to remain a recipe follower but to begin thinking like a formulator.

The book covers a wide range of topics, including hair care, skincare, masks, serums, sprays, perfumes, and labeling. Even though some formulas use commercial bases, the information helped me better understand cosmetic formulation and gave me many ideas for improving my own botanical hair care products.

As someone who has been creating natural hair care products using ingredients such as fenugreek, hibiscus, rosemary, sage, and other botanicals, I found this book extremely valuable. It introduced me to new ingredients, helped me understand INCI names, and encouraged me to organize my formulations in a more professional way.

If you are interested in self-care, natural beauty products, DIY cosmetics, or learning the science behind formulation, I highly recommend this book. Whether you are a beginner or already making your own products, there is something here to learn.

A great resource for anyone who wants to move beyond simply following recipes and start understanding how products are truly formulated.
