This time ... they may have messed with the wrong woman.
They are watching ... watching all the time ... watching Claire Foley with eager, covetous eyes.
They know all about her … her goals and her fears, how many cups of coffee she drinks in the morning, how long she brushes her teeth at night.
As she goes about her daily life, they plot in the shadows. Ways to rip her out of her life and bend her to their will. Ways to make her theirs …
… just like all the rest.
It will start with an offer she cannot refuse ... a threat she cannot ignore. It will end in a place of terror and secrets, where surprises lurk around every corner and friends and villains all look the same. — A place of terrifying dangers and stunning revelations ... a place of deeply disturbing mysteries and dark, chilling deeds.
They think they know everything about her ... every way to make her bend. But there’s one thing they don’t know ...
... this time they may have messed with the wrong person.
Kindle Unlimited ebook. What a waste of days. This book is listed as a psychological thriller but it’s not thrilling. It’s really a sci-fi fantasy mess. Whoever compared it to Stieg Larson’s character must have read a different book. I’m just glad I didn’t purchase this book.
The author used WAY too many words. Sounded like he was trying to write this mess as a new Great American Novel. It’s not!
Definitely not going on with this series even though it ended in a cliff hanger
As a Steig Larsen fan who loved his Lisbeth Salander character, I expected the heroine of this novel to be similar to Lisbeth. She was and she wasn't: she turned more into a superhero character than a realistic one. This was a quick and engrossing read. I found that the quandaries offered by the plot were interesting and some of the author's descriptions were very poetical. After reaching the end, I was a little disappointed and felt like a real conclusion was missing. Still, I then ordered the next book and am hoping that I feel more satisfied with it.
Somewhat bizarre and disconnected for my taste. Law is a skilled writer and his style is quite beguiling. However, the plotting and progression of the story became tiresome, such that I am not inclined to read subsequent books in this series.
This is a very good start to an interesting series. At no time was there a dry moment of reading. Parts were gut wrenching and other times a very smooth ride. I am looking forward to the next in the series.
I’m not really sure what to think of this book - it was recommended through tik tok as a psychological thriller but was not at all. Definitely more of a dark sci fi book. Idk if I will be reading the next one yet because i feel like it was set up to have a lot of promise I just was waiting for the ball to drop this whole book.
Any comparison to Stieg Larson’s style or the characters is ridiculous. I kept pushing my way through hoping that this would come together to be something other than some silly Marvel style superhero story, but that is exactly what it became.
Not my type of book . Was expecting something like the other “Girl” books- with Lizbeth Salander. This a very different main character and the world in which she inhabits? very bizzarre and hard to imagine. Sorry. Not for me
The Girl in the Rabbit Hole is Book 1 by R.J. Law. I will definitely be reading Book 2 to see what happens!
Claire is targeted by wealthy, powerful people who make offers she cannot refuse. Imagine trying to turn down a job and the potential employers refuse to take "no" for an answer. Claire is brilliant but when her life is turned upside down, her money is frozen, her credit cards are declined and there is no help anywhere, she does the only thing she can to survive. She accepts the job offer and is lead off like lambs to slaughter, with others in the same boat. This is a gripping story, sometimes hard to follow, though amazing in it's twists and turns.
Empowered female becomes a super hero when a science experiment goes bad
Not my kind of book, but I enjoyed the fantasy/Sci-Fi Super Hero lead character. I definetly will read a few more by this author. I would recommend for any Marvel like fan.
When all your choices are taken from you - you do what you're told. However, it doesn't always turn out well for those who take your choices. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. First in a series, and I'll be ordering the others.
Weird is the best way to describe this book. The title appears to have nothing to do with the book. Seemed more sci-fi than anything. I kept reading, but only because I try to finish everything I start. Intriguing, but again weird.
I sure didn't see where this book was headed and sometimes I thought hmmmmm. But now I can't wait for the next book to yet again see where it's headed. Good read.
This started out as a pretty good thriller. Then it became way too unreal for me. Claire receives an offer of employment from a mysterious firm. It turns out to be an offer she can't refuse. But from there it's downhill into poorly explained circumstances that are hard to follow.
Interesting read. Storyline with surprising plot twists. Intriguing characters. This is the first book I've read by the author. I like his writing style. Only complaint is the cliffhanger ending...which I hate.
I finished the book , but I did not love it. I didn’t care for the characters and the strange storyline. It just didn’t appeal to me. I’m sure there are people who will really like it and it is just a matter of taste.
The story is slow to start…introducing the characters and setting the stage. But once the action begins it doesn’t let up. An original story with depth and heart racing excitement.
This book was marketed to be the next thriller for Stieg Larson fans. In actuality it was little more than a copy paste version of The Resident Evil series complete with a secret organization wanting to experiment on humans to create a super race. In both series their experiments went awry and created a super female that they can’t control who is determined to destroy them. And so on and so on. It was on Kindle Unlimited(no surprise there either)so all I wasted was my time
112-2022. This was recommended by the Kindle app, and it did nothing for me. A whole book dedicated to sort of an introduction to a larger story. Little payoff, and mostly vague plot. I will not return for book 2.
I really enjoyed this book by RJ Law. She did a masterful job painting mental images for me throughout the book. A well-spun tale with an intriguing premise.
R.J. Law is a very skilled writer, however his novel Girl In A Rabbit Hole is not the type of book I like. Definitely will not read the next Clare Foley novel.
