Ivy signed up for the Intergalactic Games to win figure skating gold. Instead, she just might lose her heart to her royal alien competition.
Ivy Dawson has dedicated her life to the skating rink. When the athlete-turned-trainer and her student are selected to represent Earth at the Intergalactic Games, they jump at the opportunity. But outer space provides more of a distraction than Ivy expected in the form of an ice-skinned rival who awakens an uncontrollable desire in her.
Prince Rivix Skardesen always gets what he wants. Trained by warrior monks in the art of Fenrish ice combat? Check. The gold medal at the last Intergalactic Games? Check. The bed of every female he’s ever pursued? Check… until he encounters a bold, red-headed female with ambition that matches his own. The moment they meet, Rivix knows she’s his fated mate, but Ivy’s not about to fall for a playboy's tricks.
When intergalactic terrorists attack the opening ceremony, Ivy and Rivix’s fiery rivalry becomes the least of their problems. Especially after humans are kidnapped for fouling the precious games—including Ivy’s student. To save their lives, Ivy will have to trust Rivix, all while fighting an attraction she’s helpless to resist. But the terrorists want all humans dead, and letting Rivix win just might be the key to stopping them.
Rivix is the fourth book in the Bride to an Alien Prince series. This full-length story has on-the-page heat, a guaranteed happily-ever-after, and no cheating. While each book has a standalone romance, the series includes an overarching action plot and should be read in order for maximum enjoyment.
USA Today Bestselling Author Kate Stevens has been devouring romance novels and absorbing every detail since she was far too young to be reading them. With a passion for sci-fi and fantasy, she loves nothing more than a captivating villain, a touch of angst, and endless groveling. She lives in Toronto, Canada, with her cute-but-demanding pets and a hoard of books.
She's the author of Bloodborne Court, a dark fantasy romance series. Prior to that, she published sci-fi romances including Archlord of Exile and the Bride to an Alien Prince series. Her work was featured in the Claimed Among the Stars anthology, which hit #42 on the USA Today Bestseller List in 2022.
*Spoilers* * * * This was a quite well written book, with a adorable relationship between Ivy and Rivix. Ivy found solace in the ice rink, and I found it perfect that she found her home in the Ice Prince Rivix. Rivix believed in her on the rink, where since her injury I'd imagine she didn't have the confidence in her ankle to believe in herself. Despite the injury putting an end to her own career, without she would've never found her mate; her home.
The compatibility of Rivix and Ivy is amazing, not only them being mates but also their love for the ice. Despite iskrigg (ice combat) and ice skating being different, their mutual love for the ice makes their relationship even better.
Rivix complementing Ivy on her spin despite her anxiety and pain from her injury by telling her it was perfect without pause was a important point in their relationship. He supports her and her passion, not diminishing the fact that's she's not able to perform competitively anymore its still a important aspect of her life. Despite him being a Prince, he wanted to impress Ivy and not just demand her presence. It's an important aspect of his character since it doesn't make him seem haughty like some royalty is portrayed in some other books. Rivix took time to notice her and pay attention to the little things about her, which shows how important she is to him even from the start. He does notice her beauty, but he doesn't just want that. He wants to her to know her; her every thought. If sci-fi and romance is your thing, I'd definitely recommend this series!

Ivy Dawson had been a fierce competitor, always having to be the champion. Now she is a trainer after an ankle injury forced early retirement, and she and her student, Addison Everest, are honored to be Earth’s representatives in the Intergalactic Games. Unfortunately, they are up against a rival who is similarly motivated. Prince Rivix Skardesen, also a coach, had been trained by warrior monks in the art of Fenrish ice combat, had won the gold medal at the last Intergalactic Games and many before that. He was also a confirmed playboy. At least until he met Ivy and could not seem to lure her into his bed.
The moment their eyes meet, Rivix knows there is a connection between them and later his mother, the Queen, will confirm Ivy is his fated mate. But he had never bothered to study the Earth culture, even though there were humans married into his family. So when he openly invited her to his bed as they sat in the crowded mess hall, he didn’t know why she was offended. All the signs were there that she liked what she was looking at, but she was definitely angry. And he loved a challenge, especially when it led to a positive win. He would never marry because he had a rare ice talent that, if carried over to his children, would put them under the harsh monks’ training as he had suffered. And he would never do that to anyone.
When intergalactic terrorists kidnap the skaters from Team Earth from the hotel, Rivix knew it was Argrix’s desire for revenge against Earth, blaming several key humans whom he held responsible for his father, the former Herkleian king Xenobaccus’, death. And Ivy was furious that Rivix apparently knew about the threat and said nothing. She held him responsible for Addison being taken, even though it was not his decision. Will she ever forgive him? Does she really believe his love for her was just a lie to seduce her?
I really liked Ivy. She did not have the easiest childhood. After a fire destroyed her childhood home leaving her scarred and her mother severely disfigured. Her mom was cruel and nothing Ivy did was every good enough for her and Ivy's father was weak enough to allow it despite the fact that he was actually a good dad in every other respect. When she is injured it ends her skating career and she becomes a coach. When Earth gets invited to participate in the Intergalactic Games Ivy has a student that has a great chance to win. When she meets her skater's main competition and her coach, Rivix, she is immediately drawn to him but he does not make the best of impressions and ends up insulting her instead. But it turns out that she is Rivix's mate and he has to make up for his mistakes if he hopes to make up for it. But that is the least of their problems. When a large contingent of the human athletes are kidnapped it brings Rivix's terrible childhood right back to the fore. Can they save all the athletes and still manage to build something lasting together?

Ivy has been trying to get over her conditioning from her childhood about winning. It was first place or nothing. This has shadowed her life possibly more than she ever realised and it has crystalised in her approach to training her skater. She has a chance to start a carrer as a coach at the Intergalatic Games since she can no longer skate herself competitively. She meets Rivix right at the start of the event but he definitely comes across as a princely playboy which she is determined to stay far away from. Rivix has endured much while a child in the care, word taken in the loosest sense here, of the monks of the Osträsk clan. There he was taught to harness his gift of ice and to skate. He seems to have a love hate relationship with it. He has tried to put it behind him and enjoyed the status of being a prince. All that changes the moment he first sees Ivy. He just knows she is his mate. Where does that put them though when the games are under attack?
... "I’m not the prettiest, friendliest, or even the nicest.”
Ivy is a coach taking a figure skater to the intergalactic equivalent of the Olympics. She might not be the best at networking, or making friends, but once upon a time, before she injured her ankle, she was an impressive skater in her own right.
Rivix is coaching an athlete in the upcoming games, not that he learned to skate for recreation or entertainment, but what the humans call figure skating rekindled in him a love of motion on the ice that had nearly been beaten out of him in the name of warrior training.
This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read has some great relationships, a lot of healthy relationships, and a reminder that many of us have wounds from our past that may not be as healed as we thought, but a caring/loving relationship can help that healing enormously.
This is a very well written book, the romance is fast paced and very steamy with action too. Argrix is still sour about Anax being king and has been planning revenge. The skating part of the intergalactic games is being held on Rivix’s home world and as Rivix said Earth should be able to take part, Argrix vowed to destroy the games. He tries once but it didn’t make as much of a deterrent as he thought he takes things a step further, one that’s extremely harmful to the human competitors. Meanwhile Ivy Dawson is one of the Earth coaches and as soon as Rivix lays eyes on her he knows she is his mate. He has to convince her of that but it doesn’t take very long.

I read the previous book in this series- Prax- and enjoyed it. But I think this one is my favorite. I loved the world building of this book. The setting was fun and exciting. Now these are the kind of sports I would love to watch on TV.. or in person! There was a lot of action, danger, and suspense. Along with competition (of course!) and adventure. One of those books that kept me on the edge of my seat so to speak. I loved the characters, too. I really enjoyed this one and recommend picking it up. 5 stars.
I loved this alien sci-fi romance with Rivix and Ivy it has a few chuckle worthy moments and what Rivix said to Ivy when they first met was funny but Ivy was insulted, these two didn’t get off to a real good start because Rivix didn’t know the human ways. Ivy used to be an Olympic ice skater now she’s a coach and it’s her first time that she will be involved in the intergalactic games but I will let you find out the rest for yourself. This is a fantastic story I loved the descriptions, the characters and the storyline and I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.
Ivy and her promising student Addison are going to be Earth's representatives in the Intergalactic Games. But they find that they are up against Prince Rivix who is the Earth's rival. He won the gold medal at the last games and many before that. When they meet there is a connection between them and his mother, the Queen, tells him that she's his fated mate. This was a fun exciting story with action, danger, adventure, kidnapping, suspense and an intriguing story that kept me interested until the last page. Enjoyed Rivix and Ivy's story. A bit dark, tension and drama, humour and a good dose of competitive sportsmanship. They both come together to fight against those not happy about humans being allowed into the 'games'. These Rogue's attack and kidnap the human attendees. There are familial strains and parental pressures, the ending brings more joy than anger. Definitely a 'win win' book. Loved the bonus scene too.
Wow! This book was full of adventures and dangers for its characters but also love and romance for Rivix and Ivy. As much as Ivy tried to fight her attraction to Rivix she couldnt fight the handsome fated mate of hers for long. He put his life on the line for her and her fellow humans, what woman doesnt want a man like that?

The fourth book in the Bride to an Alien Prince series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Human Ivy Dawson and her student Addison Everest and Prince Rivix Skardesen and Fenrik student Sigrid Karlsdottir's story. There is suspense, drama, twists, turns, danger, villains, and romance. I enjoyed reading. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Very different. Of course all the authors of this genre have their own interpretation s of how Aliens look, but, they all seem to agree that the Aliens are all tall, gorgeous, want a human mate, go through a few trials and struggles to claim them and finally in the end these Aliens win their mate. This is such a story. Well written, gives a different aspect on the trials the Hunky Alien went through to get his mate. Very good book.

I only read a short excerpt in '24 Gifts from the Galaxy' MULTI-AUTHOR ANTHOLOGY It was only one chapter from the first volume, but I liked it so much that I decided to read the entire series.
I enjoyed reading this book, the storyline is entertaining and filled with action and adventure. The interaction and chemistry between the characters of Ivy and Rivix is wonderful. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book 📚as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Ivy and Rivix had physical or emotional scars from their past. I understood why Rivix didn’t say anything because that seems to be the norm for any government. This was a great story with lots of suspense. I don’t think his cousin is done though cause that seemed too easy and anticlimactic.

Rivix is an amazing, riveting, action packed, hot intergalactic romance. Kate Stevens has written an original SFR. LOVED IT!!!!! Favorite LOL moment: “Words of instruction are always useful.” Ivy is a strong, lovable heroine and who doesn’t love a seven foot alien with a beard? :)
A human woman is a coach for a female skater. They are invited to participate in intergalactic games. When traveling to an alien planet she meets one of the coaches for an alien skater. An alien prince who is the lowest heir to the throne has become a coach for one of their skaters. You will have to read the book to find out what all happens to everyone. Plenty of twists and turns in this story. Happy reading!
