For Rye Alden’s whole childhood, she’d been told by her grandmother that the mate bond was special and made the two connected inseparable. It could not be any further from the truth.
Her father, Jacob Alden, is a human professor who is mated to Olivia Alden, a werewolf politician. And what did she see during his funeral? Her mother networking with other werewolf politicians who came to pay their respects.
For Rye, the mate bond is just an artificial connection to ensure the survival of the werewolf species, and her proof was her mother, who practically abandoned her and her father when she gave birth to her more werewolf siblings.
This belief will soon be tested, however, when she finds her mate. Not just any werewolf, but the king of werewolves himself, Xavier Dorin. Can she hold fast to her beliefs, or will she fall deeper and deeper into the King’s arms?
I have to stay the first time I read this was when I was about 14 years old. I read it on Wattpad and loved it. Then years later I wanted to reread it and see if it was actually good or just my 14 year old brain. I am so glad it was not! It’s crazy how the story changes and transitions so easily. I love how all the characters are connected and how you really go into their backgrounds. I have read the whole series and I am about to reread it again!
omg what in the wattpad is this?! and I'm not even being hyperbolic, this reads like a tween fever dream of paranormal romance. (and according to others, I was correct in my assumption that this was originally on wattpad.)
the writing: bad, head hopping within the same paragraph, loads of tell and no show the characters: flat and immature and illogical the world building: nonexistent, we're just there the editing: this author doesn't know what that is because you won't find any here.
this should have stayed on wattpad. the author should not be charging for this. the author should not have this on ku (where i read it).
I just couldn't read it anymore. Xavier was a little annoying and Rye was also annoying and it was getting a little painful to read and I had to force myself to complete a lot of the chapters, so I just decided it isn't worth it.
I read another review and turns out this was a wattpad book. Makes a lottt of sense. If I read this some years ago, I'd have loved it. But I can't read immaturity anymore, I'm just old
All over the place writing and plot wise. It got tedious to read so DNF at 43% and I'm honestly annoyed that I wasted so much time trying to get through it. I'm still counting this as read because 239 pages is too much not to be classed as a read for me. No way could I have gotten to 554 because I was skimming most of the time already.
Very well written.. this is my first book by the author.. and i was happy enough to want to read more stuff. The first half of the book kept me gripped, but the second half had the story jumping all over the place. It felt forced & chaotic. Towards the end , it just meandered.
This book is for the very young, as in 14-16 year olds. I'm a fair bit older than that, and so it's not at all suitable. It was my mistake, but from what little of it I read the writing looks decent.
I love the characters the concept and the involvement of every myth creatures possible, in love with the book, cant wait to read the books and loved the imagination of the author ..
I have always loved Rye and Xavier's story, I have finished this series MULTIPLE times and have been following Marcy since her first book on Watpad. She just keeps getting better and better!!
I wanted to quit not even half way through, okay if your just wanting to read something but is kind of random and doesn’t have a lot of logic behind certain behaviors.
At first I enjoyed this book, but it started to dragg and it seemed like the book would never end. It's a pity because I genuinely enjoyed it at the start...I first found this on Wattpad and then decided to buy the book. The book was around 500 pages, it should have been 300-400. It kept going on and on and there were several moment that I thought 'It woud be perfect to end the book here', but no, it kept going on and on, as if 2 books were binded into one.
