An early-morning phone call from a friend asking Chris Landrum if he’d heard anything about a skeleton discovered on Mosquito Beach, an African American enclave fewer than a handful of miles from Chris’s home on Folly Beach, South Carolina, soon embroils Chris and a few of his friends into trying to solve a mystery dating back sixty plus years. Chris and Charles, his friend and self-proclaimed private detective, quest for answers takes on life or death proportions when two more of Chris’s acquaintances are killed and his friend Al Washington is next in the killer’s sights.
The task for the amateur sleuths is made much more difficult since they know few of the locals in the close-knit Mosquito Beach community and one of the people they know might be a killer.
I’m sorry. You’ll have to excuse me because I’m very sad right now. I’ve been so excited to spend the past few days at the beach with my family and best friends. I loved my time there. I just left and it will be a while before I see them again. Oh, ok…. I just finished reading the newly released Mosquito Beach:A Folly Beach Mystery by my favorite author, Bill Noel. I love reading about Folly Beach and all the characters I have come to know and love. With a great mystery thrown in, of course. It truly has become a very much anticipated special time and I really will miss “my family and friends” at Folly Beach…. Till the next time…..
Absolutely love this series, my favorite actually, with personal and light hearted descriptions of characters, and events. The reference to songs and artists in the background always makes me giggle...as it sets the stage for the next meeting or occurrence. Keep them coming and thank you for all the enjoyment of the last 21 books. Looking forward to 22.

Woohoo! It's another amazing mystery by the rock star and my favorite author Bill Noel! Mosquito Beach features all my favorite characters and a storyline that keeps you guessing until the end. I loved it and you will too! I read it in one day! I highly encourage everyone to get this book today! Great job Bill Noel and thank you for always providing hours of pure entertainment and laughter!
Bill Noel really excelled on this story. His usual tale of murder and mayhem but mixed this time with the history of 1950's and 1960's race relations. All the old quirky characters with a few new ones added. The Dog, the Pier, Bert's and Al's Bar are all there but Mosquito Beach and it's history are introduced. As usual it will keep you guessing until the end.
I !I've this series and truly hope there will be more books coming. The characters are quirky and fun. I feel like they are family and I miss them each time I finish a book. The mystery in each book is always fun to try and figure out. Although I usually just like to read along and see how the mystery is solved. These are easy and fun to read.
I enjoyed this novel but I'm truly sorry it took so long for me to finish this one. Complicated with two broken ribs and a hiatal hernia surgery. I couldn't hold the book and get comfortable. So, Bill, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. It was very interesting getting to know Mosquito Beach and it's history. I had no idea how the story would end. How a stove turned the tide blew me away.

Since I just returned from Folly Beach, I loved reading a book I could picture every place in my mind which made it come to life. Very fun read but a lot of characters to keep separated. I will be reading more of this authors books.
I enjoyed the book as I have all the others I have read. This one did seem to drag a bit but still it was good and I enjoyed all the quirky characters.
I’ve head up a book club and we have read every one of his books and really enjoyed them. Really like the characters he writes about. Looking forward to his next. Can’t wait!
