Two-time Reader's Favorite Five Star Read (Bronze Medal Finalist)
Listened to it. Parts sounded like it was written for middle schoolers, and parts sounded like it was written for adults. Some was interesting. Some wasn't. I fell asleep and didn't hear the ending. But didn't really feel like playing it back to finish it.
I'll admit I struggled at first to get into the stories told, but I'm so glad I stuck with it. After a while I found myself really enjoying the characters and world within this collection. And I plan to seek out more reads and find out what happens with characters I grew to love.
While I'm familiar with the 4 Hiden Legends series known as the Academy of Magical Creatures, College of Witchcraft, university of Sorcerory and the Prison for Supernatural Ofenders.. it was actually nice to read from completely different characters point of views. Emigene and Jonah finding a beatiful hidden forrest filled with rare creatures that explains certain part from the Academy of Magical creatures. Also show more of emigene and Jonah crazy thoughts in their own world. Odess and Theo in their first year at the University of Sorcerory to find a certain item that eventually enlightens Odess' path as a Seer./Druid. Cute Odess with her wild imagination enthralling shy Theo . lol finding this part cute as heck. Talia and Grant battling together with an item. Talia trying embrace her feelings for a certain Alcamist witch and Grant trying to man up, so to speak. Love it! Of course, there are Marcus and Kalina in their failed attempt in breaking out of the prison for supernatural offenders while realizing they're hopelessly perfect for each other. just need to work out a long history bitterness between witches and sorcerers. Adorbs! Rather enjoy this little freebie . Thanks Megan and Alicia!

This had the components for me to enjoy it but sadly did not deliver. Perhaps I'm being harsh because it's a collection of short stories rather than one detailed story that you can properly sink your teeth into but I just wasn't super into any of the stories.
Felt quite cringey, crude and poorly written at points. I enjoyed the concepts and ideas but the execution wasn't great which is a shame because I love supernatural/magic stories. I imagine the longer/full stories would be more satisfying.
I couldn't really understand who the target audience was too - adults or teenagers? The writing was a weird alternation between the two.
A paranormal & urban fantasy short story collection. This collection contains one tale from each of the five series set in the Hidden Legends world. Each story details a scene with prominent characters from the first book in each series. They can be viewed as prequels for people unfamiliar. Or backstories for previous readers. Overall, they are delightful.
Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Romantic. Scary. Tragic. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.
I received a review copy of this book from a third party. This is my honest review.
This book is a set of short stories based on a series they had written. The author has a statement at the beginning that says you don't need to be familiar with the original characters but I definitely disagree. I felt like there were gaps in information from the original work that would have made the stories make sense. Each short story is a chapter or 2 and doesn't really go anywhere.
I loved all the short stories! They introduced the characters quite well and made me want to read the series they are part of! I would love to start with them soon. The world building is amazing.
