STORY:
WHAT I LIKED:
I am so sad to see this end. I started looking forward to the next book as the story continues every other week. I am completely satisfied with the way this story continued and ended. Throughout the story, I saw Paxton’s devotion and need for his mate grew and that was also what made this exciting for me, because he matured as well. It also had a spin of forbidden romance throughout so that is also exciting. Paxton’s POV for this was good and I am glad this ended on his POV as he details his recuse. Eden has come a long way also as well and I really enjoyed her and Paxton together trying to figure this out.

WHAT WAS SO SO:
Really no issue for me, but would have loved to seen them shift one more time.

SEXUAL CHEMISTRY
Sex scene was satisfying for a quickie

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
Am I greedy for wanting a quickie novella story with Carter and his mate? Really wish this series can continue.

OVERALL:
Was I entertained? Yes.
Did I like the story? Yes
Would I read the other books in the series? Yes? If there were more.

TRIGGERS: mild violence and kidnapping with mild torture.

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

Review :
Things for Paxton and Eden have never been ways but they might have underestimated the hate their pack has for Eden. Now with them separated, the palm to break them will be even easier. Eden and Paxton already had such a tough start and path but this might just be the end for them.

I am so happy to have read the conclusion for this book. The choices made by Paxton made me really really happy. I am glad that he saw what his pack actually was and gave them the result they deserved! The ending was good and the storyline as well. If you are a fan of rejected mate romance then definitely go for this one.

“Home” is the conclusion to Eden and Paxtons tale.

Wow what a horrible ending to a promising start.

The hero not only manipulates and kidnaps the heroine, he then leaves her alone with enemies where she is physically abused- when he returns she is cautious and what does he do? Blackmails her via sex and ofcourse she gives in.

The hero and his pack deserve to be burned in a pit and the heroine needs therapy. I didn’t believe his feelings for the heroine for a second and if not for the mating bond, I believe he would have partaken in the abuse as he had so far.

Spoiled my mood

4⭐️

I highly recommend this fast paced rejected mate series. Darcy Rose did something a bit different breaking down what would be a novella sized book into 4 short books.

The story was well written and the characters were interesting. Once I started with book 1 couldn’t stop 🙌. And the spice is nice 🔥😉

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Note 2: This is a series, please read in order. Eden is the first book. Mate is the second book. Bond is the third, releasing March 9, 2022, Home is the final book, releasing March 30 2022.

Trigger Warnings: assault, drug abuse, kidnapping, attempted murder, ostracism

This is from Pax's full point of view - of when he realises what has happened to Eden and goes to rescue her.

I loved it, full action, romance, suspense, and generation gaps address. Also I got my wish regarding Carter haha, so yeah sue you Carter.

I certainly look forward to reading another book by Darcy Rose.

Until the next read,

While for the most part I liked how this book ended, I was hoping for more bloodshed & revenge. I was happy Paxton finally grew some balls & stood up for himself & his mate. I liked the surprise from Carter at the end but it also leaves me suspicious. Maybe we’ll get his story. This series is different than any other I’ve read.

Disappointing ending

After everything everyone did to her that’s it? What a let down. Everyone got off FAR too easily, especially Paxton.

honestly it was a waste of money

I’m glad the books were cheap or I’d have been even more upset.

The books are SHORT (maybe I should’ve anticipated that considering they were fairly cheap) but they’re really way too short to handle all the “ drama.”

The first book introduced us to Eden, and halfbreed wolf shifter. Her parents died when she was 10 and she was sent to be raised by a couple of wolves who treated her like dirt because she’s a halfbreed and can’t shift. She had hoped that at school, by meeting people she might have friends but it’s clear from day one that everyone hates her, believes her Alpha’s lies about her worthlessness and pedigree and live to torment her. The worst comes from the Alpha’s son Paxton and his “cronies,” they humiliate and bully her every day.

8 years go by and Eden has endured so much humiliation and pain. But at the age of 18 you have the possibility of finally meeting your mate, and Eden is happy for that possibility. Everything goes to hell when it turns out that Eden’s mate is Paxton the horribly mean cruel bully that has hurt and humiliated her for years!! The Alpha and Luna and the pack are horrified and believe that Eden’s one and only friend, a witch named Luna put a spell on Paxton to make him Eden’s mate. They tell her off, and Paxton doesn’t hesitate in rejecting Eden at once. Eden is crushed. She gets called by the council to testify on the charges the Alpha made of her using magic to manipulate the bond and is cleared by them. She tells them the truth that she simply wants to leave the Pack in peace and hates Paxton and the bond. She leaves for the human town in hopes to escaping all wolves, especially her despicable mate.

Book 2 is from Paxton’s POV, from the moment the disastrous birthday party and realizing that Eden is his mate, to him deciding to investigate all the claims from his father because his wolf is going crazy without Eden. He also had watched Eden shift when she ran from him, something his father said she couldn’t do. He starts to question his parents and their bigotry, and when he sees the condition Eden had been living in, he snaps snd goes after her. Eden wants nothing to do with him, and hates him (rightly so). She refuses to go back with him and tells him off at every turn. Eventually Paxton can’t take it, he DRUGS her and kidnaps her to a remote bunker telling her they won’t leave until she relents. Uhmmm Okaaay…so this is an awesome plan to get your mate to love you…kidnap her, and use your mate bond to manipulate her into having sex with you. Hmmm yeah, Paxton is a great guy (yeah right). Honestly book 1, and 2 were sorta a train wreck! Paxton is an entitled a-hole who should’ve never gotten Eden, or at least should’ve been put through a lot more to “win her.” He definitely didn’t deserve to touch her let along have sex with her. I thought it was awful that all he did was apologize, but not grovel profusely!!! I also was kinda disgusted that Eden (for all of her heated words and attitude) caved so quickly and let him take liberties and even slept with Paxton!! The book should’ve been longer to accomplish and accommodate Paxtons intense groveling (that never happened) or at least book 3 and 4 should’ve made that happen.

Book 3 is absolutely ridiculous!! Paxton has kidnapped, like drugged and literally kidnapped Eden, his mate. He locks her up and tells her they’re not leaving until she accepts and gives into him. Hellooooo anyone else consider this horrifying?! He kidnapped her!! And worse, he manipulates their mate bond, pressuring Eden to have more sexual thoughts and feelings toward him. It gets so bad that she says YES, and without hesitation or remorse Paxton takes her virginity! shortly after they sleep together, Eden forgives Paxton, and agrees that theirs is a true mate bond, and that she loves him *eye roll*. What girl in her right mind, even shifter, would just “give into” someone who had made her life utter hell for most of her life? What kind of person would sleep with said awful human/shifter just so soon after telling him to go to hell?! And what does this say about their overall character? So Eden (the absurd wimp- who falls into bed with her awful mate just a little while after separating from him, and apparently forgets all the awful things he said and did to her) goes back to the Pack with her now acknowledged mate. She’s not warmly welcomed, but the Alpha and Luna want their son back so they begrudgingly accept her. When Eden and Paxton are leaving they’re attacked by Paxton’s parents. Paxton is hurt and knocked out and Eden is then kidnapped - AGAIN, this time being handed off to Carter (Paxton’s best friend) and Bailey, Paxtons former hookup and supposed friend. Yeah is it any wonder that the hero of this story (some hero) is a manwhore on top of everything else. Honestly there are like no redeeming qualities about Paxton, he’s a very hard character to like…which makes him an awful romantic lead character!!

Book 4 has Paxton searching for Eden. His mind is now solely focused on her, and he despised his parents for hurting them. He tracks Eden down and finds her in a cabin owned by his best friend Carter who betrayed him. When he sees Eden he’s horrified, she has been beaten within an inch of her life, and cut up repeatedly. The culprit of this heinous act is none other than Paxton’s former lay, Bailey. Bailey proclaims her love to Paxton and said she did what she did for him, so they could be together. Paxton kills Bailey but forgives Carter in the end, heck Eden forgives Carter, it’s ridiculous!! Paxton is notified to come back to the Pack by his parents. They’ve taken Luna, Eden’s friend hostage, trying to force her to undo her “spell” yes, the one she never cast. Paxton and Eden go to rescue Luna with the help of Lina’s parents…and guess who else, Carter the kidnapping douche! Paxton’s father initiates a challenge to claim the position of Alpha, but Eden stops them and tells Paxtons dad that she doesn’t want either of them hurt, and not to fight. Paxton then declares that he’s leaving the pack because it has been tainted by his parents, and that he’ll start his own pack…oh and conveniently Carter goes with them because it just so happens that Luna’s his mate *another eye roll*. Yup the two secondary characters we read almost NOTHING ABOUT find each other at the last second. Conveniently again, Carter owns a cabin and lots of land (enough to build a pack) that he got as an inheritance. The book concludes with a random sex scene between Eden and Paxton, and her imagining their future together. The end was very very dissatisfying, almost as dissatisfying as the series itself!! Everything is so neatly tied up it could be packaged as a present. All the drama that was in the series, and built up was either 1. Put aside and not mentioned again 2. Forgiven too quickly or not needed to be forgiven and 3. Gave us a very very weak ending with no true closure. Not fighting the evil Alpha, and letting him continue to run the pack is dissatisfying. Ending with a sex scene and not an epilogue describing their future is dissatisfying and the lack of growth from any and all the characters is very dissatisfying.

All in all I’m glad the books were “cheap” but still annoyed because I had to spend money on a very very very mediocre series of books!!

Home de Darcy Rose serie Sacred Hill Rejects libro 1

Argumento:

The four books — Eden, Mate, Bond, and Home — are one story serialized, with no breaks in the plotline.

Eden is a half blooded werewolf who doesn’t shift. After her parents were killed she was pawned off on another werewolf couple — as punishment to said couple. Eden was bullied, ostracized, and neglected.

On their 18th birthday, werewolves sense their fated mate. No one expects Eden to have a mate, so when she is matched with the alpha’s son Paxton, the whole pack is up in arms. Because Eden is friends with a witch, they are convinced they are using witchcraft to ensnare the alpha’s son.

Eden tries to run away, but their connection has Paxton pursuing her. Their wolves — yes, Eden finally shifted — are fully dedicated to the bond. Their human halves, less so.

Where do you go when you can’t leave and you can’t stay?

Home is the last book in the Sacred Hill Rejects series. Eden & Paxton have to confront a backstabbing pack, untrustworthy people and what they are to one another. I liked these quick read books in this series. Im just wondering if maybe Luna & Carter might pop up in any future books? I hope so. I enjoyed reading this series so much

“they hate me on a totally different level than my hatred for them. They take pleasure in hurting me.”

This is the final chapter in the Sacred Hill Rejects. This is book 4 in the series and is not a standalone . The previous books - Eden, Mate & Bond - need to be read first.

Eden was taken by the pact, upon her arrival with Paxton.
Paxton has been kept captive as well, in a certain way. The pact has been making sure that Eden and Paxton are kept far apart.

When Paxton finally figures out what is happening, he charges to save his mate, no matter what or who stands in his way.

“I’ll be alpha, but I don’t have to lead like my father did. I won’t be like him. I’ll be better. So much better. I will be ten times the alpha he ever was.”

This was a great ending to the series.
I still think that this could have been a one book story, because the four books are very short. Still it was enjoyable.

Hopefully we’ll have a book about Luna and Carter.

THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE STORY- THIS IS PART 4 of a 4 PART STORY.

***REVIEW FOR COMPLETE 4-PART STORY****

Eden had one shifter parent and one human parent, which wasn’t considered acceptable (not pure blood) in their wolf-shifter pack. With that attitude I don’t know why they stayed with the pack as I assume all 3 were treated with much hostility, but we never know because the book starts when Eden turns 18. She starts the book by saying she was severely bullied, starved and mistreated since her parents died 8 years ago (hence my confusion because it really seems like everyone would have bullied her forever since she’s never been pure blooded). But let’s ignore that and move on….

The second Eden turns 18…POOF….MAGIC…..Eden and the alphas son Paxton are both overcome with a WAVE OF FEELINGS for each other. I hate the arbitrary “magical midnight on the 18th birthday” thing in any book (just to make the sex that occurs consensual between 2 ADULTS🙄). But let’s ignore that and move on….

The entire pack, including her mate Paxton continues to bully and reject Eden. Paxton is and has forever been a complete jerk/ bully/ a$$hole to Eden and nothing has changed since becoming her mate. But let’s ignore that and move on….

Eden leaves the pack to go live on her own but Paxton chases her down. Paxton, who still believes their mating is a mistake because “some witch MUST have put a spell on them” because NO-WAY could Eden ever be his mate (blah, blah, blah…). So he does LOTS of even worse things to Eden but now feels justified “BECAUSE OF FEELINGS”. But let’s ignore that and move on….

In the end Paxton doesn’t care if it’s a spell or real, HE decides to keep Eden and the book ends.

What does Eden want?

It apparently does not matter “BECAUSE OF FEELINGS“.

So Paxton and Eden hate each other but fate has chosen them to be mates so now they are together BECAUSE OF FEELINGS and the years and years of abuse and neglect are swept under the rug with no apologies “BECAUSE OF FEELINGS”. The end.

Haha! I know it sounds like I didn’t like the book BUT I kinda did. The plot, while insanely crazy unbelievable, kept me hooked. The hate sex was off the charts (I wanted way more though). And watching Paxton learn more about the pack’s treatment of Eden, made me want to give Eden a big hug (and kick Paxton to the curb, but again….hate sex😉).

I felt like the story needed fleshed out more. There DEFINITELY needed to be MORE ending to Paxton and Eden’s story. We DO NOT GET A HEA. We get optimistic talk of a future potential for a HEA, but Eden and Paxton HAVE A LOOOOONNG ROAD AHEAD OF THEM IF THEY WANT A FUTURE TOGETHER. There could definitely be another book, just to give a satisfying conclusion to their story.
But let’s ignore that and move on….

There also seems to be spin-off potential with another fated mate coupling, that would tie into the imaginary next book but nope…. It would definitely help wrap this story up more since the new couple leaves with Paxton and Eden to go off and create a new life together (and start a new pack?)🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I enjoyed this series, I liked how after he rejected the bond there wasn't a long period of separation...& he went looking for her as soon as he felt she was scared. I hate when most shifter books the main guy doesn't find his mate till like 3 yrs later..So as for his ex lover or friends with benefits buddy that hated the heroine and bullied her for years..she deserved to be tortured then killed..for what she did to his mate ..she beat her cut up her body carved words into her skin.. the quick snapping of her neck and him playing nice to get close to her to snap her neck..didn't do justice for me. she deserved a way more gruesome death lol for what she put his mate through. His parents deserved worse as well, I wish the council got involved to investigate..I do like the ending..I've never seen a son leave his pack & choose his mate over his pack..they usually never leave there pack..but I guess it makes sence he realizes his pack was brainwashed for years and wouldn't treat his mate right if he stayed & his mate didn't feel comfortable in that pack anymore it was definitely a very different ending to all the shifter books I've read ...every single one of them...they fight to the death to become alpha and control the pack and change the packs beliefs in other shifter books, So I liked that this ending was different ... I wish there was a longer epilogue with his new pack and them with pups of his best friend with his mate by there side. but we didn't get that..just a short mating with a sex scene. Definitely wanted more lol. but overall I enjoyed this series.

Truly an outstanding last book in the series
Wow what a fantastic last book. I will admit that I didn’t really like Paxton in the beginning I didn’t think he was the man for Eden but let me tell you I am the first person to put my hand up if I am wrong. And I was so wrong.

But I did have faith in Darcy Rose because I have not read a book by her that I haven’t adored. I would recommend this series to everyone. Truly truly just brilliant to the point that I want to start the series again and read them all together . 10 out of 10 I honestly wish I could give this book/series more stars
I received this book through Booksprout and this is me choosing to leave my honest review

This is the 4. and final book in the sacred hill rejects series. Told from Paxtons POV again. Seperated from his mate by his father the alpha and betrayed from pack members Paxton makes some neccessary decisions. After escaping and finding Eden, who was beind held captive Paxton goes wild. When Luna, Edens friend is being involved, things get out of control. But the HEA is in sight. With every book, Eden became more selfconsious und her trust in Paxton grew. Paxton grew up and stands to Eden and their bond. I'm a sad that this story is finished. Highly recommended. Recieved this book as an ARC in exchange for an objective and honest review

Home is Book 4 and the conclusion of Eden and Paxton’s story.
Told from Paxton’s pov Bailey and Carter had taken Eden away. Paxton’s parents were drugging his food, keeping him weak and unable to rescue Eden. Bailey had inflicted so much cruelty and pain on Eden’s body when Paxton eventually got free and rescued Eden, but she was terrified of facing her enemies again until she heard that Luna was in trouble.
A brilliant conclusion to this story, with the good guys coming out on top. Carter’s story begins towards the end of Paxton and Eden’s HEA. Loved it.. I received a free copy of this book via Bleeding Heart Press and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Shifter paranormal romance.
It does have many twists and turns. There
are many emotions that will be brought forward while reading.
Paxton and Eden thought that they were going to be able to move forward as Paxton wasn't go to give Eden up after realising that she was indeed his mate.
Both characters find there feet and grow stronger together.
I hope to read more about the other characters in more storylines yet to follow.
A great shifter read long enough to keep you interested and wanting more.

This is Eden and Paton’s final book and it was so good. It starts right where Bond ended. Paxton is a mess and doesn’t know where Eden it, but he is going to do whatever it takes to get his mate back, and I mean anything. He will do whatever it takes to keep her safe when he finds her again. I don’t want to say too much and give any spoilers. You need to read this and start from the very beginning since it is. There is one part that shocked me and I hope they get a story too. I loved Eden and Paxton’s story.

I thought that this was a great book. I really liked that Paxton became the alpha that he was supposed to be and finally put his mate, Eden first. Eden is one strong heroine and exactly who Paxton needs in his life. I really hope that we get some more from this world with Luna and Carter's story next. I really enjoyed this whole series and I would recommend it and Ms. Darcy as a wonderful author.

I was invested in this series from the get go.
And enjoyed the last installment of Paxton and Eden’s journey.
Paxton sure did underestimate the hatred and prejudice against Eden.
But now finding her and extracting revenge his forefront on his mind.
I really liked him and Eden and wanted them to not only find their HEA but also peace.
I appreciated that both characters grew and had development within themselves.
Especially Paxton.
This is a quick attention grabbing series.
It’s sweet and sexy and a very enjoyable read.

yesssss

Okey a good stormy adventurous and steamy book. Finally not an overkill of the wolf thing. I liked that it had story that it had adventure a bit of brutality regret and family issues. So overall good read. I would have wanted to understand (as it wasnt clear) if there was some shady background for E’s prents death or not (sounded for me but might be my imagination) but overall good read.
I would have liked it in one whole book however not 4 short read but Im still satisfied.
Is anything about Luna and her mate? Lemme
check it quickly…

The end of the series...well, I'm conflicted. The trauma wasn't shown, a very potential "shut down" scene was half shown but what Paxton did at the end was kind of... impressive? Might be one of the good few decisions he took. Apart from that, there was no fight which was anti-climatic though Luna's mate reveal was surprising.

Overall, this series is superrrr short, every book having a maximum of 50 pages, each book having an intimate scene and other things depend upon your reading mood and what expectations you have before/while reading.

This is conclusion to Eden and Paxton's story, and what a bumpy ride it has been. Eden has been dragged away from Paxton, will he be able to escape and find her? Can they finally get their happy ending? I have loved the journey of this couple, the betrayals, the roadblocks and the connection they feel. I look forward to seeing Carter's book(s) and the challenges he will have to face.

This is the final piece of Paxtyn and Eden's story. You must read all these books and in order to have full understanding and to get this couple's complete romance. I enjoyed this book and series. The story kept me entertained and the couple gave my heart a workout. An engaging blend of emotion, drama, twists and heat flowed smoothly throughout and read easily. Eden and Paxton are still being held apart. Pax realizes he is being drugged by his father to keep him weak and unable to go find Eden. Carter and Bailey are keeping watch over Eden but while alone Bailey tortures Eden. When Pax, Bailey and Carter come face to face they have no idea what Pax will do for Eden. This was a great ending to their story. I can not wait for Carter's story after the ending.

I received this ARC from the author and my honest review is voluntary.

Finally Paxton shows himself to be worthy, it took me 4 novellas to warm up to him.

Home was a great conclusion to the Sacred Hill Rejects Series. This group of short novellas has a great storyline, together they form a great book. If I could change anything it would be to read it as a novel, but thankfully there wasn't too long to wait between releases.

Pax and Eden's story is more suspense than steamy chemistry. It's a good read and each book ends in a cliff-hanger.
