Beauty is always queen.

With an abusive ex-husband, a father who didn’t care for her, and a mother who stole from her...

She had no money, no job, and no home to go back to.

Beauty queen. Prom queen. Head cheerleader. Footballer’s wife.

She did everything according to plan—a winning formula designed by her mother.

She should be living in a mansion, being served by maids, chauffeured in limos, and showered in money.

She should be sipping champagne with the other wives and girlfriends by the pool.

But she isn’t.

Just as the once-queen-of-everything thought her life couldn’t sink any lower...

A job landed on her doorstep.

One that wasn’t meant for her.

First I would like to say I'm so sorry to write this but that writing is atrocious! 😶

This book is a huge mess, it is just so confusing and honestly so much unnecessary info to hide the fact that there is 0 plot to be found 😬

And yet despite all the word vomit it's hard to get a grasp on the actual story! Even if there was a plot, behind all this mess it would just not make sense.

I hate leaving bad reviews but to whoever was the beta reader and the editor.. pls refund the author, you did such a bad job!

The book has a potential, I think either make it a short story with less info about the characters and more about the plot or make it a 400 pager but expand on the backstory and character development. The book feels disorganised, lots of words and back story dumped on 2 pages and long (and really unnecessary) conversations.

I really wanted to like this book as the blurb sounded right up my alley but unfortunately the execution was very poor.

This is a good start to a trilogy. The characters are both trying to make it in life. The man went from a geek, poor and awkward, to a billionaire . The woman went from being the it girl in high school to being a divorced woman, living in her sisters spear bedroom and sweet talking men in to buying her drinks.
They come together, him as boss and her a PA., but with no experience. They learn to get along and soon have feelings for each other, but are both to proud to admit it to each other.

Twisted Beauty is the first installment to a new incredible Series by the unstoppable Ms. Summer Cooper (Twisted Intention). After reading this release, I am now impatiently awaiting the next. The chemistry between Keily Matthews Miller, a divorced ex-cheerleader and former bully of Eugene, aka Logan Sinclair, who is a highly successful business man, is written so real and rawly, it will tug at your heartstrings. This book has an amazingly crafted storyline that is sure to stick with you, long after you've completed it.

Follow along as Keily, a once self absorbed, self important woman, gets taken down a peg or five, by Logan, who has vowed revenge on those that once caused him mental & physical anguish that never should of transpired in the first place. Welcome to Kings Hill, a small town in South Carolina as well as the childhood home of both of these unique characters.

I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Twisted Beauty, from The Bad Boy Update, in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion.

Trust that this is one release you aren't going to want to miss.

Firstly I need to say it, I hate Keily. She’s the typical girl who thinks that she’s entitled to have everything. She’s one of those mean girls who can’t care less about another human being. So when she ends up without a life of her own but still having that presumptuous attitude, Logan steps in and decides to give her a life lesson. Our hero instead has been bullied his entire life and now he has the chance to payback all he has endured. That being said both characters are so different but the attraction is blatant. It’s a continuous battle between them until the unexpected happens. Definitely a four star read for me and I can’t wait to read the second book.

I didn't like the main character Keily, she is a unlikable person, sometimes I liked her but most of the time she was just mean to everyone. Also I didn't like the writing style, it was messy and it contained more unnecessary information than the actual plot.

I'm not sure how to rate this one. I am not even sure how I feel about both main characters. Keily was kind of a bit unlikable. I have to admit there were some things I did like about her, but mostly she was just shitty mean person to everyone. Until she was at the bottom... then maybe she changed a little to the better. Logan on the other hand. At first I kind of liked him, but he became such a pathetic person. Acting like a teenager, going on about some revenge, but really just being a bully.
But even after saying all that, the book itself was a quick read (of course it short as hell) and I did enjoy it to some extent. But the ending... I really don't like it. I wish it ended differently. Hm. I wonder how messed up the rest of the story is?

In high school Keily was the popular girl and dated the star football player and her life planned out as an NFL wife. When that didn’t happen, her life went down hill until she decided to get a job and a life of her own, but she needs to lie on the application to get the job. Little did she know the guy hiring her went to high school with her and know who she is, one of the girls who bullied him. Will he get his revenge? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, and steam. Great characters and an entertaining story. I liked it.

Summer Cooper’s Twisted Beauty kicks off the Twisted Intentions series with an intriguing premise and compelling drama, but it occasionally stumbles under the weight of overused tropes and uneven pacing. While the book delivers moments of tension and heat, it doesn’t quite break new ground in the crowded dark romance genre.

🚨 Spoilers Ahead! 🚨

The story follows Keily, a former beauty queen turned divorcee, struggling to rebuild her life after her husband’s NFL dreams crumble. Her path crosses with Logan Sinclair, a successful CEO with a mysterious past and a personal vendetta. Their dynamic is built on tension and unresolved history, with Logan intent on making Keily his personal assistant—a role that promises both professional and personal challenges.

Cooper does a solid job establishing Keily’s vulnerability and Logan’s dominance, creating a push-pull relationship that keeps readers engaged. The dialogue between the two is sharp, with moments of genuine chemistry. However, some interactions feel repetitive, and the narrative occasionally leans too heavily on clichés of the genre, such as the arrogant billionaire and the feisty but struggling heroine.

The job interview between Keily and Logan crackles with tension, especially as Logan begins to see through Keily’s polished facade, testing her in ways that highlight her resilience and desperation.

"In Logan’s world, trust wasn’t given—it was earned. And Keily had a lot to prove."

While the book sets up the stakes well, some aspects of the story feel underdeveloped. While compelling, Logan's mysterious motivations overshadow Keily’s backstory and internal struggles. Similarly, the pacing fluctuates, with some scenes dragging while others rush through pivotal moments.

For fans of dark romance, Twisted Beauty offers enough intrigue and steamy tension to keep the pages turning. While it doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it lays the groundwork for what could be a captivating series.

Keily was down on her luck she had married a promising footballer all for it to turn to dust when he got injured. She stuck by him until he list his job and became a drunk. She went to live with her sister and niece. She had no money and used to a nearby bar and get men to buy her drinks. One day the bartender brought a paper over to her opened at the job section. One job caught her attention. She went home and used her sisters computer to fill in the job application and made up her resume.
Logan grew up in the town but was a study boy but was bullied and beaten up because he was this and couldn’t stand up for himself. He went by the name of Eugene Baumgarten but took early classes for university and gain scholarship to cover university. When he left town he changed his name when he was 18 to Logan Sinclair. When he finished University he set up a factory in California. He decided to open a factory in his home town to try and get back at the bullies.
Keily was invited for an interview the next day. When she went she was surprised to be given the job and also a company car and apartment. Plus’s she was given a bonus for signing on. This she used to buy furniture and some new clothes. She got her home set up and let her sister know she had gotten the job. Logan made it hard for her sending her for coffee and then saying it was the wrong one and go back. Keily proved her worth and even though she had no experience she learned how to google to find what she wanted. Logan was impressed but wasn’t going to make it easy. I received an ARC for an honest review which I have given I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

Thank you soo much Summer for sending me an ARC of your book.

Twisted Beauty is a forbidden love, Hidden past contemporary romance, that has plenty of juice to keep you reading.

Kiely is a young woman, who used to be a beauty queen and felt like she was soo special that anything she wanted she could get just with a smile and a little flirtation. At the beginning of this book, I have to admit she kind of irritated me because of how selfish and self-consumed she was but I fell to really like her throughout the book and through seeing the strength she holds even whilst being repeatedly humiliated and treated like absolute rubbish.

Logan is a billionaire who has worked hard to build his business. In high school, he used to be what would have been classed as a nerd and he has returned back to his home town to build a new sector of his business and bring jobs back to the small town. BUT he also has other ideas for the likes of those that tormented him in high school just to prove who has the power now.

The chemistry between these two characters was undeniable, they used their past anger and self-pride to hide the way they felt. I found myself almost wanting to scream the book for them to give in to their advances.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more of summers work. if your looking for a book with plenty of angst and chemistry with a happily ever after ending then this is definitely a book for you

Keily definitely thought she was all that despite the fact that she didn’t really didn’t do anything after high school that meant anything. For real she was not a good person in any way. She whines and complains because she didn’t get what she wanted because her high school boyfriend turned husband in college did not become a successful NFL player. Literally never had a job before, so Keily googled a bunch of stuff to fake a resume to apply to be a personal assistant for Logan who grew up with her and her whole crew before he went across the states for college and being who he really was.

Logan stepped out of their small South Carolina town where he was bullied the majority of his childhood by the popular crew at school. He was so bullied and hated his birth name, that he legally changed his name by taking away his terrible name and using his mom’s maiden name. He really became a self driven successful man.

With his different name, building his business in his hometown hides who he once was.

The story goes so well from both sides, and Keily significantly changed when reality hit. I’m still team Logan though.

The end was like a new beginning and I’m so ready to go on to the second book in the series, waiting for Keily to get a reality check as their relationship evolves past boss and assistant.

Wow!!!😮😮. This book has so much hate in it. Such deep emotions!

Logan was bullied in high school. Now he is back! He is rich, successful and hot. He is ready to show this town who’s boss. He will get his revenge one way or another, starting with this ex cheerleader, beauty Queen sitting in his office, looking for a job.

Kelly is divorced. A split that she has had a hard time recovering from. She went from trophy wife to divorcée in the blink of an eye. Now she is working at a new job with a jerk for a boss. He is so mean to her and she doesn’t know how to feel.

These main characters are very vain in many ways. They are both stubborn and independent. Their personalities were very strong. At times I found them to be petty in their actions. The push and pull between them is so strong. Every now and then I wanted to slap one of them.

Even after all this, the beauty Queen gets a very hard dose of reality. Things are not always easy and sometimes you have to put your own emotions away in order to succeed.

The story ends in a way, that it almost feels like a cliffhanger. It leaves readers wondering if there will be a book two for these two.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It is a different approach to the normal office romances out there. It is full of attraction, yet it has a lot of deep seeded emotions. The anger adds a bit of fire to the story, making it that much more interesting.

Keily had the perfect life planned out. She was a beauty, or so everyone told her, and the high school football star only had eyes for her. Joe was certain of a future in the NFL, until the day a linebacker blew out his knee. He handled it by getting drunk, sitting around and making life miserable. After divorcing, Keily was not only on her own, but almost penniless and needed a job quickly. Spending time in the bar down the street, getting men to pay for her drinks, the bartender is fed up with her behavior and gives her a jobs wanted section of the paper. There's a PA position, with many perks, and she applies for it. Logan is a self-made billionaire, but was bullied in school. When Keily walks in for her interview, he's shocked to see one of the girls who bullied him. She's getting the job, if it's the last thing he does, and he's going to enjoy breaking her. He goes a little bit overboard with his files of how to get revenge and it's really hard to like him when he's so hateful to her. Keily is angry, but what can she do when she needs the job so badly. The give and take between the two can be brutal, making it even more difficult to like them as a couple. There's a light cliffhanger at the end and you have to wait until the next book to see what happens to them. I received this book from Bad Boy Update and am voluntarily writing my personal thoughts.

Twisted Beauty is the first novel in the Twisted Intentions Series, an intensely dark, revenge-bent billionaire romance trilogy written by Summer Cooper that I flew through! It is so good I could not put it down! Ms. Cooper knows how to write a dark, hot, edge of your seat romance between self-made billionaire Logan Sinclair, an extremely accomplished young man from humble beginnings who worked his tail off to make it to the top, and the homeless, struggling, former beauty queen, Keily Matthew Miller, who does not remember Logan from her past. Seeking revenge, Logan returns to the hometown that isolated, rejected, and bullied him until he escaped and started his life over. But now, his return will revitalize the economy that has been dead for years by bringing jobs with him. Keily has hit rock bottom, she has never been employed and is currently homeless and alone when Logan offers her a job with perks. But Logan decides to punish her by being emotionally and verbally abusive, despite their attraction to one another. They are physically unable to stop the attraction that draws them together, regardless of how ruthlessly Logan gaslights her in his efforts to push her away and make her lose all that he has given her…! You have to read what happens. Their story continues in Book 2. You want to read this series!!

I must start off with...I do not like any of these characters - at all.

Kelly's attitude is horrible and her relationship with her younger sister, Violet and niece, Alice is disrespectful and mean. There is no support on either side of their relationship. Violet dishes out just as many hurtful barbs as she gets. Logan is no better. His obsession to humiliate and torment Keily is psychotic. And, what kind of HR director advises Keily, the PA, to "Pull him off to a corner, climb into his car and bang him on his backseat...Get it out of your system and get it over with."(pg. 242-243) in regards to Logan, the CEO!!??

With that said...for an author to get that much emotion out of a reader, even negative ones, is impressive and lets you know how well written the book is. It also, leads me to believe that this is just the beginning. By the end of the book, there are so many questions that I was shocked. There has to be more. The ending surprised me. It proves that in spite of my opinion of these characters, I need more. Keily and Logan are unfinished and I'm now hooked on their story.

The title certainly lives up to its name! Keily is a selfish, self centered woman who is extremely ungrateful and entitled thinking. She was the prom queen and married the quarterback, but her fairy tale life came crashing down around her. She knows she needs to get a job and get out of her funk so she creates a life on paper that she never had. Logan has made himself a billionaire by hard work and determination to overcome the poverty her grew up in and the abuse he took in school. Now that he is back in his home town he is determined to make all those "entitled" people and show them a lesson. When he gets Keily's resume it seems like fate. He knows most of it is fake, but he can't resist the chance to exact some revenge. Keily is so excited to get a job with all the perks that she puts up with Logan's incessant belittling. The attraction is there, but Logan is trying his best to keep it at bay and continue to torment her. Just as they seem to be getting along, Keily's past comes back to haunt her Logan pulls back....and we have to wait for the next book!!! I received this ARC from Bad Boy Updates.

I received an ARC of this book, and although I really enjoy Summer Cooper’s writing, I wasn’t sure what to expect. This is unlike any other book I’ve read. Somehow, she has managed to create two main characters who are utterly unredeemable and unlikable, and yet, I found myself unable to put the book down because I was anxious to find out what would happen next. The story is told from alternating POVs in third-person past-tense, which seems to work well.

The book starts by painting Keily as a selfish, self-absorbed narcissist (redundant, right?) who lies to get a job. At first, Logan seems like he might be a nice enough guy, but it quickly becomes apparent he’s equally narcissistic and a bit sadistic. The two of them are uncontrollably attracted to one another, but as long as she works for him, nothing will happen between them. He decides to make her life a living hell.

Don’t expect a happy ending. That said, it’s certainly a satisfying ending. It’s both completely unexpected and altogether predictable. All I can say is, wow.

I always enjoy books by Summer Cooper. This is the start of a new series and the book does end in a mini cliffhanger. It also leaves you with more questions than answers.
Having said that, this book illicit an emotion of anger and dislike. Keily was the beauty queen who thought she had it all until her dream life ended when her football husband's knee was blown and he didn't make the NFL. They are divorced and she is living with her sister.
These two exchange barbs and don't really seem to like each other.
Keily then applies for a job she is not qualified for and gets it. Logan, her boss, actually went to school with her (he changed his name) and was bullied by her and her friends.
He has decided to get payback for all she did to him. He really takes the revenge to far at times. Keily puts up with it because she needs the job.
I really can't decide if I like any of the characters in this book. Or Keily and Logan as a couple.
I was given this book by Bad Boy Updates and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest review.

This book was a bit of a rollercoaster for me. I started off extremely disliking Keily, she felt entitled, rude, and very stuck in her “beauty queen” identity. But to be fair, she did redeem herself as the story went on. She became more grounded and hardworking, even if a lot of that growth happened because of Logan. By the end I actually liked her a lot more than I expected to.

Logan, though… started strong and then completely fell apart for me. I liked him in the beginning, but by the second-to-last chapter he’d turned into an ass. Instead of growing, he just became more frustrating, and it made it hard to root for the romance or even for him as a character.

I did like the overall plot and the concept behind the story, but the execution felt a bit messy. Some scenes moved too quickly, some emotional moments didn’t land, and the pacing was uneven. Still, it was a quick read and entertaining enough to keep me going.

A flawed but engaging story with a heroine who grew on me, a hero who went downhill fast, and a plot that had potential but needed smoother delivery.

Talk about a book that's overflowing with emotions. Wow, the hate is sometimes so strong you can almost cut it with a fork. Keily was the ex beauty queen/cheerleader who had it all. She was self absorbed and used to being a trophy wife until her divorce dropped her a few pegs. She had no other choice to go to work for Logan who was successful and wealthy. He was overcome with hate because of his bullying in high school. He in turn becomes the bully. The chemistry between the two is off the charts but so is the venom. The characters were well developed but not very likable. The book was well written with lots of emotion, angst and drama. It won't take you long to get pulled into the plot and will find the book hard to put down. The book ends with some questions which made me think there fight be a follow up in the future. A good book that enjoyed reading. I read an advance copy via Bad Boy Update and voluntarily chose to review it.

The price of beauty was tough for Keily, her whole life was one thing after another, she was the golden girl, beauty queen married right out of high school to the hometown hero, quarterback with a ticket to the bigs. Until her husband blew out his knee while still in college, so instead of rolling in the dough, Keily is divorced, living with her younger sister and niece, and on the way to being out of a home. She applies for a job of a personal assistant to a billionaire. Logan has secrets of his own, having decided to come back to town a new man. Name changed from his birth name and he's decided to use the mean girls from high school, and he hires Keily just to make her life as miserable as the "it" kids did to him. I laughed at some of the things that Logan made Keily do for him.
I REALLY enjoyed reading this book. Keep up the great work, Summer! I can't wait for what you come up with next.

There is Keily who her mother always made her think she was special. Beauty queen, cheerleader, all was going her way, until it wasn't. When her easy ticket to ride blows out his knee and doesn't make it into the NFL, she ends up divorced with no back up plan. Moving in with her sister who is a single mom is not her idea of making it. She has to find a job and when a PA position with lots of perks is available, she goes for it. She is now working for Logan. He grew up in the same town and was constantly bullied. He can't stand football players or cheerleaders. He changed his name and returned to his home town trying to open a factory that would save the town. He is beyond mean to Keily but she puts up with it. She needs this job. Good start to this new series. Looking forward to seeing what happens in book #2.

Summer cooper is one of my favorite authors, and never dissapoints!!!
Wow, this book had such a range of emotions, love not being one of them.
I started off really not liking Keily, cheerleader, prom queen, and pagent queen she was full of herself, but as the story progressed, she definitely changed for the better. Logan on the other hand, well I understand that he was bullied in highschool, and was definitely hurt, Keily being one of the people who hurt him, there comes a time in life when you need to grow up. On one hand, he is bringing life back to the town he grew up in with his company, he has taken ALL his anger towards the highschool bullies out on Keily. That being said, I can not wait for the next book to see how they progress and hopefully grow and find forgiveness towards others.

A Different Type of Storyline? (No Spoilers)
Summer Cooper has written a different type of a romantic storyline and perhaps not so romantic but more of wanting, longing for each other, that being Logan, the Boss and Keily, the PA. Throughout the story Logan is at odds with himself for a couple of big reasons…one from his past and one currently. Keily is finally coming to terms with how she was raised, the impact that had on her life during her twenties and what can she do about it now.
There is a visceral reaction between Logan and Keily which causes all sorts of acting out. The ending is more realistic and I like that.
I’m recommending this book for your reading enjoyment. It won’t be for everyone but give it a try. PEACE.

Keily lives with her sister after divorcing her husband. She has nothing - no money, no job, no abilities except being a beauty queen. She married her high school sweetheart who was about to be sponsored into the big league of football but blew out his knee. He then turned to alcohol. Keily's sister is not happy with her not contributing to the bills and not looking for a job. So Keily makes up a fake resume and applies for a job as a PA. The boss's name is Logan but that isn't his real name. He changed it after leaving school. Being bullied constantly at school by the football jocks and made fun of by the cheerleaders, he did a makeover on himself and became a billionaire. He decides to employ Keily and make her life hell as payback for what he went through. Boy oh boy is this a recipe for disaster. Great story and cannot wait for the next one.

Keily has hit rock bottom – growing up a stuck-up, spoiled brat, she believed everyone owed her. When she has to get a job, she ends up applying for a personal assistant. Something she has no experience in (in fact, she has no experience whatsoever). Logan Sinclair (really Eugene) was bullied by Keily’s ex-husband and others all throughout high school. He is out for revenge and gives Keily a job so he can pay her back for what they did to him.

Logan treats Keily like crap but she hangs in there and catches on pretty quickly. At times, Logan slips and feels bad for treating her like crap, but something always pulls him back to his revenge plot. He is attracted to Keily, but will not sleep with an employee!
