My new neighbor kept to herself and that was exactly how I wanted it. As long as she stayed on her side, I would happily keep to mine. That had been the plan anyway, until I saw her and my entire future unfolded before my eyes. Could I convince the stubborn, nerdy beauty to give me a chance?

I was doing my best not to interfere with the city slicker who moved onto the other side of the mountain ridge. And my best involved making sure the property line was clearly fenced.
But I couldn’t pretend I didn’t hear her scream. And when I found her sitting in the dirt, I couldn’t pretend I wasn’t whole-heartedly attracted to her.
Was I going to be able to restrain myself long enough to get her to trust me? How would I know when the time was right to profess my love?

My new neighbor was the last person I wanted to see on my property. But naked…that was a different story.
Aside from her obvious beauty, there was something different about her. I wanted to know more, but every encounter ended up with her being embarrassed. I had to find a way to convince her I didn’t care about the awkwardness.
Then when she decided to believe the rumor mill, I worried she wasn’t the right woman for me. Would she give me a chance to explain?

I spent my life scouring the wilderness for hidden gems. The only certainty about my adventures was that I never knew when I'd stumble on something of true value. That's when I came across Bailey, the intriguing woman who'd run from the mountains as soon as she was old enough to live on her own. City life was the only way of life in her opinion.
Would a threat to her family be enough to make her move back home or would it serve as proof that rural living was something she wanted to keep in her past?

About the author

Barbra Campbell writes dirty-sweet romance because she gets a kick out of helping couples overcome problems as they fall in love, even if it’s her fault they have problems in the first place.
After pursuing degrees in Genetics for nearly a decade, she realized the ‘chemistry’ of romance was a lot more fun to write about than the biochemistry of how our bodies work. She shared her stories with the world, was a finalist in a bunch of romance contests, and traded her lab coat for a laptop.
All of this was done with her college sweetheart by her side. He helps her pursue the HEA on a daily basis, even when she has her mind on sexy book boyfriends and cover models.

The Unexpected Prizes

3.5 stars - To appreciate these quick reads, you should have an affinity for insta-love. Each is crazy over-the-top, hot, and a bit silly with some cute thrown in for good measure.

As there's crossover once you get to the third short, I'd recommend reading in order.

Treating the Mountain Man 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - OTT and Very Short
Barbra Campbell indicated that the story was short but I was not expecting the story to be quite so brief and over-the-top. Undoubtedly OTT. No matter. It was still entertaining and very steamy.

“Felicity, will you marry me?”

“If you’ll eat everything I ask you to, and keep me full of babies.”

I'm not sure if I should laugh or what at this. Given when and where it happened, I'm going with laugh. Trapper and Felicity are definitely something else. 😂


Tempting the Mountain Man 🌟🌟🌟🌟 - For the Love of Bowtie Pasta
Over-the-top? Undoubtedly, but I enjoyed this quick read that ends with a steamy romp. Moving in and marriage make it a bit too farfetched but I liked the rest.

His massive build and rugged features contrasted the kindness he exuded. I willed my Spidey senses to tingle, give me a clue if I was crazy to be attracted to him.

Seducing the Mountain Man 🌟🌟🌟 .5 - Stuff and Buff
3.5 stars - This is hot, dirty, and crazy over-the-top insta-love. Marriage proposal within 36 hours aside, I like the chemistry and the bad jokes between Amanda and Jagger. I did enjoy how they met. 😘

“Why were you wandering around with an ax?”

“I’m a taxidermist. I was out scouting for the perfect piece of wood for a mount.”

She giggled. “That’s what she said."

Finding the Mountain Man 🌟🌟🌟 .5 - Merging Country and City
3.5 stars - Chaos creates a situation that puts Neil and Bailey together in an unexpected way. True to form for this series, they go from barely knowing each other to biblical knowledge and the L word before the night is out.

I got a better view of Neil across the room as people stepped aside. Did my heart really skip a beat? Silly. Then again, he had a fair bit of city in him. The refined look I loved. And the way he filled out his shirt had me dying to get a gander at what was underneath.

Each story in this series is about a sibling finding their true love and getting their happily ever after. I look forward to reading the next book by this author in the future. Short reads.

In the headline, I put that because that’s what they are. I’ve seen so many reviews that aren’t good (short reads in general) because people don’t get that, that is what a short read is. Something quick and to the point. But some people just always have to find a reason to complain. I enjoyed these short reads very much and I would recommend them to other people.

All four stories are lovely. Short, sweet, not so dirty, but definitely hot. Just the thing for uplifting spirits when one has a down moment, or for a relaxing fun hour or two.
