Ken Fite is back with his latest thriller, hot off the presses. Picking up months after the previous novel ended, Fite has much to explain in this latest piece. When a Chicago park soon becomes the scene of the largest mass shooting in US history, all eyes turn to the White House to see how President Keller will react. A native of the Windy City, he rushes to mobilise and entrusts the plans to his loyal Chief of Staff, Emma Ross. She has everything ready to go, but is interrupted by a phone call that forces her to leave her post. This has become a common occurrence, so much so that Keller confronts her about it. While she is able to dismiss the comments, Ross realises that she will have to be more careful in the future. Meanwhile, in London, Blake Jordan and Jami Davis have been living off the grid, using their aliases after an orchestrated ‘death’ months before. When they are approached and summoned back to Washington, Blake wants nothing to do with it. However, upon learning that Jami’s sister and brother-in-law have been victims of the shooting, she agrees to rush back, with Blake Jordan demanding to go as well. When they arrive, Emma Ross is anything but pleased to see them, particularly Blake, but has come to understand the severity of the situation. While he no longer exists, Blake has a way of twisting arms and get himself temporarily assigned to work on the shooting, back with the Department of Domestic Counterterrorism (DDC). President Keller is eager to meet with the security guard who disarmed and neutralised the shooter, something his Chief of Staff is happy to coordinate. A slew of agencies are trying to vie for control of the investigation, while there are rumours that some eyewitnesses saw a second shooter on the scene. As Blake and his Homeland Security partner, Tom Parker, seek to dig a little deeper, they discover these witnesses are being killed. There appears to be a tie to some rogue members of Chicago PD, but could there be more to this homecoming for Jordan? Fite has done it again, pulling readers into the middle of a fantastic thriller that does not leave any time to rest. Recommended for those who have enjoyed the previous novels in the series, as well as the reader who loves a quick political thriller.

Ken Fite’s novels landed on my Kindle not too long ago and I was quickly enthralled with the premise. These are pieces that mix the best elements of the American political system with some domestic security issues. The novels are easily devoured in a single day (as I have done) or over a period of time, though their pace almost forces the reader to keep going so as not to lose the momentum. Blake Jordan remains a strong protagonist, able to pull himself away from oblivion and back into the middle of another political situation. Jami Davis receives some stronger attention here, though her focus is on familial issues and not the investigation. Still, she works well to inject just enough to the story to keep Blake on task. The handful of central secondary characters, both recurring and new faces, help to push the story along. Of particular note, Emma Ross and Tom Parker receive much ‘page time’ in their own rights, with some backstory and character development throughout. Fite has done well to balance the story so that not all of it is seen through his protagonist’s eyes, which enriches an already stellar narrative. The plot of the story is quite straightforward, though there are many twists at key moments to keep the reader from guessing where things will go. Fite knows how to keep the reader on their toes, particularly with another wonderful cliffhanger. One can only hope that there will be many more of these novels, as they are perfect for binge-reading (as I did with the first four) or a filler novel between two books on a reader’s ever-teetering ‘to be read’ pile.

Kudos, Mr. Fite, for another stellar novel. I hope many will discover your work on Amazon in short order.

Blake Jordan Returns

This is one of the best books that Ken Fire has written. It was so edge-of-the-seat that I read it in one sitting...a real "couldn't put it down" book. Blake and Jamie struggle through their exile, forced repatriation and vindication. There were a number of twists and turns that came out of left field and were totally unexpected. Waiting for Book 6 with bated breath!

Great read

This was by far the best book written by Ken Fite that I have ever read. It was awesome. I read 80% the first night and had to stop because it was one am in the morning. It started off with a big bang and kept going till the end. It was so exciting and full of action and twists and turns. This book will not disappoint you.

The Homeland

What I like about Blake Jordan is that he never gives up. He sticks to what he believes is right and follows his gut. Even if it takes him outside the law. He always does it for the greater good.

This novel is chock full of suspense and action. Trying to figure out the pieces of a puzzle while trying to save people and himself. The thing about Jordan is that he cares more about others than himself. Right up til the end of this book...then he has an epiphany.

The question is how long can he live with it or will it drag him back in? I guess we'll have to hold our breath til the next novel to find out. I hope Mr. Fite writes fast because I'll be chomping at the bit.

If you love thrills and chills and lots of action this is the book for you. You don't even need to have read any of the previous books in the series as this book stands alone. I highly recommend this book as well as all the others. They are all fantastic. Blake Jordan is a great character.

Great Story, But ...

Homeland is arguably the best story in the Blake Jordan series. However, it is seriously marred by writing that seems to be rushed, forced, choppy, and downright lazy. The author increasingly uses favorite terms and phrases over and over, ad nauseum. For example, Blake always "stuffs" his phone into his pocket, his gun into the small of his back, etc.; he never seems to shove, slip, jam, push, or slide his phone or gun into place. When thinking, he always puts his hands on the back of his head and slides them down his neck; he never laces his hands over the top of his head, digs his fists into his closed eyes, massages his temples, etc. Such repetitions are both distracting and detracting. With a bit of effort and a good thesaurus, the author could avoid that pitfall.

Loved it!

I’ve enjoyed the Blake Jordon novels and I check back often looking fo the next. I started reading homeland and realized I had missed something, number 4. I went back to the roller coaster of number 4 straight into number 5! This was so intense, with the urgency of being a step behind all the way. A lot of twist and turns, a new influx of characters mixed with the old, shots firing, cars crashing, bodies accumulating and conspiracies abound leading up to a unexpected motive and ending. Looking forward to book six. Well done!

Just gets better!!!

Glad to get Blake Jordan back to the USA. The Homeland starts out strong and only gets better. The story line is gripping and the characters are great to follow. The action is non-stop. This book could be read as a stand-alone but I do recommend the series.

As an avid reader I have found authors like Ken Fite as good and in many cases better than those authors who show up in the Publisher’s weekly bestseller list. Check out Amazon, BookBub, The Fussy Librarian and sites like this. You will be PLEASANTLY surprised.

I have now completed the first five of the Blake Jordan books. I have only one complaint. I cannot put them down to go to bed at night. These stories pick up quickly and don’t stop until you reach the last page. Robert Ludlum is one of my favorite authors. Ken Fite is right up there with Ludlum as one of the best action writers in my memory. Homeland takes you on a ride of intrigue which includes a mass shooting of epic proportions and political drama that just doesn’t quite. To be understood to the fullest these books should be read in order. They can be read as stand alone novels.

KEN FITE DID IT AGAIN . HOMELAND IS EXCELLENT.

THE BEST SO FAR IN THE BLAKE JORDAN SERIES. IT IS AN ACTION THRILLER FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END. BLAKE IS ALWAYS ANTICIPATING WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT. HE IS AT THE TOP OF HIS GAME WHETHER HE IS PROTECTING THE PRESIDENT, JAMIE'S FAMILY AND COUNTLESS OTHERS. KEN DEFINITELY IS THE BEST IN CREATING A THRILLING BOOK. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT BLAKE DOES NEXT. THANK YOU, KEN. MARILYN

Decent Writer, but seems to be increasingly repeating phrases that sound great once, unfortunate the second time and rookie move the third time. Some of the plot lines seemed to be a rather large stretch, too. Won’t post any spoilers here, but suffice it to say that unlike other authors who seem to noticeably improve and grow with each new effort, this fifth effort just doesn’t follow that trajectory.

Good, but...

His first few books were exciting, but after awhile his wordy descriptions of actions, thoughts or feelings became annoying. He would frequently write things like: "I put the phone in my back left pocket of my jeans." Why couldn't he just write, "I put the phone in my pocket."? His style of writing became tedious, over descriptive, I could barely make it through book five. In fact, I'm not getting book six, I'm sorry but I can't handle it anymore.

The Homeland

Blake and Jamie are hiding out in London when someone from Homeland arrives to take Jamie back to Chicago. There has been a mass shooting and Jamie's sister and brother -in-laws were both shot leaving their son Matthew alone with a babysitter. Someone from Blake's time as a Seal is the supposed hero for taking out the shooter. Witnesses who claim there was a second shooter are dying and Blake becomes very suspicious that things are not right.

Great

Ken Fire has returned Blake and Jamie to the living in dramatic fashion.
When a shooting occurs in Grant Park in Chicago president Keller goes to meet with the victims and their families.
A security guard hailed as a hero has a hidden agenda but no one realizes this until Blake recognizes him.
Go along for a thrill ride and wait for a twist at the end.

HE'S BACK

So glad. Great story. Fast pace. As usual he always thinks way ahead of everyone else. Would have liked to know little more about how Jamie's sister was. For the next book, maybe. .Such a strong hero character, Blake, tries to get things done the right way, but when that doesn't work, goes around to the back door. Thoroughly enjoyed!!

Spellbinding!

Another great suspense and thriller read in the Blake Jordan series. Ken Fite does a fantastic job of taking the reader for a ride inside another thriller complete with unexpected twists and turns. And then .... leaves you hanging at the very end, left waiting for the next release.

Super Good Read!!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a past paced suspense story. One of the best I’ve read since Fite’s last one 😊 This book is filled with page turning twists and surprises and does not disappoint. I appreciate his touch of faith and absence of sex and bad language. Pick this up today!!

Instinct

Making a difference? Yea, Blake makes a difference but that's
not what he sets out to do. He's driven organically by instinct
to save anything and everyone he can. And though he might try
to stay out of the fray, it keeps coming to him. That makes a
difference because he's can good at it. Just read Homeland
And you'll see what I mean.

ok, i’m addicted

Thanks to Goodreads I was introduced to Ken Fite and Blake Jordan, and his wild and crazy world keeping America safe from terrorists. I don’t yet know if I can place him at the Koontz, Baldacci but I do know I am addicted to his storytelling. Even though you know Jordan is going to live to fight another day, the journey is exciting.

Another exciting Blake Jordan...

Right off the first page I couldn't put it down. Ken Fite books are so full of constant action, easy to follow and quite surprising story lines that keep me hooked to the end. He seems very knowledgeable regarding government shenanigans and corruption.

I wish I could give 4.5 stars. Best book in the series so far. This book is riveting and Blake Jordan was much more likable as we saw humanity in him for the first time. I am amazed at how much trouble seems to follow him…

Looking forward to book 6! I recommend this series to anyone who is looking for a quick read and/of loves thrillers

Another gr8 bk from Ken Fite. The book reminded me of the shooting in Las Vegas that traumatized the nation with yet another (major) mass shooting. Devastating. This story was too close to home because it happens in my home state (Illinois) and (some parts) the city I grew up in (Cicero).
Blake and Jami have to come out of hiding to assist President Keller and Emma Ross. There’s hints that there was more than one shooter. Witnesses are dying. Blake is encountered with a nemesis from his past.

One of the BEST Blake Jordan's yet. Started slow in order to cover the past but got right into the thick of it ....fast.
Definitely needs to hide his loved ones. Too close for comfort.

Another fantastic read!

Each of Ken’s books are hard to put down after you start them.
This one was another nailbiter down to the end. But I was left wanting more. So I guess I’m left with the option of waiting for the next in the series.

Hmmmm

I am enjoying this series....but the author is making Blake into a 'superhero'. Come on. When he reaches out for help he doesn't ask for it he demands it. He is a loose cannon. Only he can do the job.

Will continue reading this series but geez. Take it down.

This storyline has several interesting anecdotes and quotes

I liked the new character, Tom Parker as he seemed to be more grounded and calm. He and Jordan appear to make a good team. Parts of this book seemed a little drawn out.
