When he discovers that his friends have humiliated Rose, causing her to run away, he feels furious, but also guilty. Will Henry convince Rose that he is capable of change and worthy of forgiveness, showing her the true colours of his heart? Or has his misbehaviour cost him her love?
In the midst of this chaos, the only certainty is this; he will never let the love of his life get hurt again...
Even though they cannot hide their love for each other anymore, Rose and Henry have to confront class differences, and people that insist on tearing them apart. Will the two of them find the courage to defeat social expectations? Or will they find themselves fighting for a love that could never flourish?
"The Return of her Dear Viscount" is a historical romance novel of approximately 80,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
Thoroughly enjoyable story of across societal boundaries love that almost failed. The main characters grew up and played together for many years; he was an heir and she was the maid's daughter. He was sent to boarding school and she earned many advancements within the household. Upon his return, he brought a group of despicable 'friends' and an OW wanna-be. Everyone, including his parents, worried about his change in character and his willingness to hurt people without regret. This included his former childhood friend who became their prime target. The OW was the ring leader and was a cruel, vicious excuse for a Lady...and she was jealous.
After their ultimate, intentional humiliation of the h, he and his family had had enough and expelled them from the manor. The H was left to correct his behaviors, attitude, and perspectives. His parents were awesome but were not enablers. He learned some very hard truths and finally found his true self. An HEA was earned....finally.
The Return of her Dear Viscount—Dreams vs Delusions
This is a sweet but sad story of first love across class barriers. Two young lonely children delight in the hours spent playing together and the young housemaid even slips into the schoolroom to learn alongside the master’s son. But when the fully grown young viscount returns home with jaded friends after several years traveling abroad, he is greatly changed. This is a coming of age book that recognizes and addresses the soul-searching decision making that happens as individuals reach milestones and find that those around them have also changed forcing them to reassess expectations and test the validity of previous assumptions. Would that we all had the counsel of wise, loving family or friends at such times.
A beautiful story An old childhood friend returns home but he is not the same where is Rose’s Henry has life really changed the man who held her love for so long? A tender love story about a commoner in love with a noble but will this man just hurt her or will love be allowed. I enjoyed this love story I really liked Rose she was a sweetheart. The jerks in the book were written so well they gave the reader a love them/hate them feeling. The last few chapters had a touch of heartbreak but a large amount of heartwarming moments too. The characters and story were brilliant and I so loved the ending lovely book that I am very happy to recommend.
This is a very captivating story that will keep you gripped from start to finish. This clean plot has the main couple of characters, n.travelling an emotional path fraught with heartache and spiteful friends. All the characters are amazingly portrayed, and the extended epilogue brings you an insight into how their relationships develop and the couples expectations for the future. I read an ARC copy.
I enjoyed this book. Rose and Henry grew up as children and cared very much for each other. Lady Susannah and his other friends were very self-centered people and I'm glad when ther were finally sent away.
As childhood friends they didn’t realize that they were in love. That happened upon his return in a manner that makes for a delightful and clean Regency Era romance.
Rose and Henry were such wonderful characters in this book and I enjoyed reading their story. Being royal does not make some people of good character as was shown with Lady Susannah. She was nasty. Henry finally found his way back and married the woman he loved even though she was not a royal. I’m glad his parents welcomed her to their family as their daughter.
Rose loves Henry but denies it He is a Discount and she is a ladies maid The characters are arrogant and disrespectful forgiving and kind The extended epilogue completes the story with love and family togetherness and joy A very good story
I liked the plot. It was different and very interesting. Henry had a long road to go to heal the hurt he caused. He's A good man and came around! Love his parents and hers! Good book!
At first, it was very hard to like Henry as his arrogance ruled his personality. But later he changed for the better or should I say returned to what he had been before. The transformation was enjoyable and the happy ending worth the wait.
Henry did a lot to change his caracther, after being bullied this was the cosequence but family love and understanding is the only way to gain back who he really is.
This is a story of the caliber of people you associate with can pull you down into a hole you find yourself trying to rectify. This story has a great moral to it. You will fall in a rut or claw your way out.
