Good for a very quick revision and an overview of classic psychology theories. However, lots of Googling will take place if this is the first time the reader encounters the concepts.

This book offers a broad overview of various concepts in psychology - so broad, though, that none of the material is very memorable. There were a few instances when it seemed like the author was just about to say something interesting - but then stopped abruptly and started off on a whole new topic instead.

In addition, certain theories (like the theory of evolution) are referred to as fact, and some conclusions are misleading or downright wrong altogether. The author also failed to cite references, which is just frustrating in any book, especially one on science.

Overall this book was a very pleasant read.

The first half felt rather static in its covering of topics in that as quickly as they were introduced, they were finished.

In the second half, there was a much more fluid sense of continuity as topics were carried forward and expanded on.

I appreciate that throughout the whole book, whenever a previously mentioned topic is referred to, it will display the page number of that topic.

I also appreciate the cute portable size of the book

A summary guide to psychology. It is what it is. A good book for anyone interested to learn about the history and nature of the subject in a concise and easy to digest manner.

Kitab psixologiya ilə bağlı maraqlı faktlardan ibarətdir. Bir çox elmi terminlərdən istifadə olunub hansı ki başa düşmək biraz çətindir. Amma son səhifələrdə bu terminlərin açıqlaması verilib

I read this before I started my psychology A-Level and it helped give me a good broad understanding of Psychology as a whole before studying it in depth. It's also great if you need a simple and very brief catch up on certain ideas.

Marcus Weeks has written a convenient little introductory guide to the field of psychology. It is a decent pocket-sized read that most likely will spark an interest in one of the many various subfields of psychology or the general history of psychology for the reader. I in particular at am interested in reading more on neuroscience and clinical psychology, as well as researching more about the issue of the replication crisis currently hitting much of social psychology.

Overall a decent recommend from me. You won't get too much out of this but it is a fun and quick introduction to a field that you can dive much deeper into.

2 stars- For claiming to be condensed, it sure is repetitive. It covers some interesting topics in a vague way, providing little in the way of evidence or details. If you really want to learn about psychology, pick up a real book, not this glorified powerpoint. However, if you just want a short introduction to a few important figures in the history of psychology, and some broad topics, it does its job well enough.

I don’t understand why people are upset that the descriptions are brief? It’s a small book that says “ in minutes” in the title???? This isn’t an in depth review of every single topic In psychology.
Its meant to be a coffee table book that you can pick up and read a page here and there from.

Прекалено повърхностно са засегнати всички теми в книгата.
Предвид, че всяка втора страница е илюстрация, недаваща нищо полезно като информация към текста, мисля, че книгата е абсолютна загуба на време и пари.

It was extremely interesting, but it was boring as well. It just felt like a conglomeration of stuff that I had already learned or had already heard of.

It's a nice book if you need an introduction to the world of psychology (in a brief way) or if you just want to have a refresher of the history and development of it.
