I don't have much to say because I didn't enjoy this book. These are my notes that I took while reading:
Very uncomplicated, simple language.
A lot of information is told to the reader very quickly.
One sided insta love, dated mates trope.
Lots of use of the term “female.”
I might be too far removed from my Wattpad phase to find this enjoyable.
I'm on page 20 and I'm already thinking the FMC’s weight is mentioned too much and so are her shoes.
“Haters gonna hate” (20). - Please stop. I don't think I belong here.
“After begging the nerdy little clerk to let her stay late, promising to lock up, she'd spent a total of six hours in the awful place (23). - This woman is crazy judgemental. So is the guy. I don't like either of them.
Definitely more smut focused than plot focused.
Why are we still info-dumping? Will all of this matter in any way?
“Built on sacred Lenape tribal lands” (102) - Why is this here? It makes me uncomfortable knowing that sacred land was once again used by people besides the indigenous it belongs to, even in a fictional setting. Just, why was this a necessary inclusion?
Consent? Never heard of it, according to the fated mates of this book except the Dragon shifter leader who was ignored.
The MMC brags about being super old but behaves like a child and has shaky control over his abilities/supernatural aspects.
I've heard all this information before (152).
“Fergie entered their brand-new, two-thousand square foot walk-in closet.” (202). - The mentioning of wealth for the sake of wealth is kind of gross.
Ultimately, I finished this book because it was easy to read but I shouldn't have. I should have moved on when I knew I wasn't going to enjoy this book.

Don’t be late to the party
What an amazing story! The author kept it high energy and fast paced with an intensity that kept me riveted to the book until the wee hours of the morning. I really enjoyed the personalities of each character and there is so much room for growth and new books. The author seems to have left us little easter eggs with clues about what may be coming next, but you will have to read the book yourself to see if you can find them. I can’t decide which character I want to read about next, but I’m sure the next book will be one I won’t want to miss.

Wolf Shield.

Another fantastic and entertaining book for us to get pulled into, with new characters who are full of surprises, definitely entertaining and are not worried about speaking their mind.
Magic is the central theme running throughout this storyline, alongside our two fated mate’s. Due to the strength found in the magic, it has become the focus of those mythical beings who’s lives and energy are consumed with evil.
Mythical creatures continually try to gain the upper hand by manipulating and setting up plans to destroy the balanced world of the paranormal
The Guardians of Chaos have been created, trained and guided by the powerful magic they were gifted so they can keep the balance in magical energy that is part of earth and the supernatural realms, ensuring that anything that does occur is controlled by their strength, honour and stubborn determination.
Storm suddenly finds himself in a complete mess as his wolf instincts run riot, stumbling into the life of his fated mate, who is totally unaware of the lives and world’s that run alongside her own. Fergie an Irish red head with Italian blood she is definitely a character who runs on her sass, attitude and quick temperament.
Even though Storm knows he needs to protect Fergie while gently guiding her into his world, trying to find the control to take time getting to know what makes Fergie tick, is almost impossible, as his wolf refuses make this easy, claiming her here and now is all the wolf can understand.
They are both stunned at the intensity and depth of bubbling emotions they find reeling off each other, wanting nothing more than to hold onto the feelings that are ready to crash over each other.
Definitely a quick read, full of of action intensiity and scenarios that leave you stunned at the twisted turn of events. The strategic planning these power hungry beings try to put into play to prevent the Guardians of Chaos from protecting those around them, suddenly blows up in their face as a very protective and violently angry wolf shifter, is going to give them what they deserve after hurting his mate.
Wonderfully written with a superb twist at the end, giving the book a perfect ending.

The book was exciting to read! There were several different types of shifters-dragon, horse, panther, wolf, gila... and a warlock & a witch, with lots of sexy times thrown in.
Totally recommend this story to everyone who loves the paranormal.

Brilliant
What is the best way to be introduced to the paranormal world ? Anyway other than to be attacked by green beings covered in scales on your way home from work ! Being injured when the sight of blood makes you fain is not a good thing either . If you happen to be rescued by your mate ( even if you don't know he is your mate and just feel very very safe and attracted to him ) isn't a bad way though but that is only if you don't wreck your very expensive shoes .
A fun, action packed story although I am not sure if our heroine loves her hero or her shoes the most . A great read and addictive enough to make you want more

Insta-love
This a fast-paced book containing insta love.
Fergie is a bit shallow with her love for Louboutin heels. She has a new job doing research. Her boss has tasked her with checking into different sections of land. One night she is attacked.
Hudson Stormwolfe is one of the Guardians of Chaos. He and a fellow guardian stumble upon an attack in progress. He soon realizes she is his mate even if she is human.
There are misunderstandings and denial that lead to bad things.
I wish there was a bit more about what happened with Kingston, the Alpha of the Guardians. I feel like I may have missed a book even though this is book one. Hopefully things will loop back around and make a bit more sense in later books.

Once again the author delivers with a great start to a new series. Hudson Stormwolfe (Storm), our Hero, is a Guardian of Chaos, a group of Supernaturals tasked with protecting the all magic users freedom of thought. Fergie McAndrews our heroine, human and self confessed shoe-holic, meets Storm when she is attacked after doing research for her new boss. The sparks fly from the very beginning! I enjoyed it entirely and cannot wait for the next book to come out. Looking forward to reading more about this group and would recommend this to all who enjoy both humour and fated mates.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Wolf Shield by C.D. Gorri is the first book in her new Guardians of Chaos series. I really enjoyed this read despite the fact that I felt there was something that came before this book that I was missing. Sexy shifters, slimy bad guys, steamy love scenes (Mature Readers Only Please) and an interesting twist on magic and shifters made this a hard to put down read. A good start to this new series.

This was another amazing start to a new series. As usual, Ms. Gorri always has a way of making her characters jump off the pages and pull you into the story. I'm sure the Guardians are going to have some amazing tales for us. I will always be a sucker for fated mates. Shifters, magic, adventure and romance. These are just some of the things that make this incredible. It may take Strom some time to convince Fergie about their future. Destiney has a way of working itself out. Loved it! This is my voluntary opinion of an advanced copy I received.

I love this author, and to start a new series by her is fantastic. This story centers around Storm and Fergie. Storm is a part of an elite group of paranormals called the Guardians of Chaos fighting against a group called the Loyalists. Storm is a wolf shifter. Fergie is just a normal human hired to do research for L Corp. When she is attacked by Gila shifters Storm goes all protective on her. She is his fated mate and now the chaos ensues. Will he be able to protect her? Will she let him?

This is a great start to a new series, Guardians of Chaos. I was completely enthralled from the first chapter The story was fast paced and kept me up until I finished the book. I loved how Storm and Fergie got together. Can't wait to see what CD Gorri has in store for the rest of the Guardians. I was given an ARC and am voluntarily reviewing it.

Hudson is a wolf shifter and a Guardian of Chaos. He is happy with his life except for the loss of his leader's mate. His whole unit is struggling with her murder. Hudson wasn't ready for a mate of his own because how dangerous it was. Then he and a couple of other guardians were supposed to meet a contact in the middle of the swamplands. He hears sounds of a struggle up ahead and is hit by the scent of his mate. Finding his mate gives him some new powers and he overpowers the Gila shifters easily. However his human mate is injured and his wolf insists that they take her to the Guardian HQ. She was scratched and poisoned by the evil shifters and one of the best ways to heal her is to claim her as his mate.
Fergie is a human who loves expensive shoes. She would rather eat Ramen if she could buy new shoes. She has been through many jobs already. Her newest job has her doing research for a rich and security paranoid boss. Today he has her researching old land title claims of certain packages of land. She finds out that since the records are more than 100 years old, she has to go to the other public library in the middle of nowhere. It doesn't even have internet connections. She works late taking images of the records and convinces te librarian to let her lock up. She finishes up at 10 pm and on the way to her car, she is accosted by three very strange men who almost look lizard like. When they put their hands on her, she is pulled away and rescued by another stranger. She watches him beat up the three men and notices that he isn't quite normal either. He seems to keep getting hairier. Fergie them passes out from the scratch and the sight of her own blood. When she comes to, she finds herself in a strange place with the stranger watching over her. He tells her that his name is Hudson and he wants her to stay there until they can find the guy who escaped his attack. Fergie is very drawn to Hudson but he seems that have a lot of secrets.

Fergie is my kind of girl
I loved this story to bits! Although Fergie was super dense at first I truly loved her personality. She was my kind of girl! She wasn’t materialistic, she just loved her shoes and worked hard for them. She wasn’t snobbish, demanding or boorish. She was truly quite the dish! The chemistry between her and Hudson was palpable let me tell ya! Hubba hubba! Poor horsey, you know, they never did explain why she hit Furio with that damn bat lol also omg I can’t wait for his book! Not saying a word there!!🤫🤭🤐 nope, I’m not! All of the guardians seemed very interesting! I can’t wait to read their books. I truly hope Elenas mate is a normy, you never really see female shifters end up with normals... I’m wondering what Gorri will do there. It’s also cool to see a Vampire in the mix! I can’t wait for his book too! Damn, Gorri has a great crew to work from here. A wolf, dragon, panther, vampire and a horse of all things and pulling up the rear a witch! That’s all madden team if I’ve ever seen one! The world building is quite good and I love the fact that they live close to the Jersey Devil.... READ his book! My gosh it was a good one! They also mentioned the famous “blue hole” you gotta read Gorri books to know these terms. Kingston’s book is up next and I know it’s going to be a real doozy. I can’t wait to read it. Sighs, it’s going to be a sad one for sure but I know he’ll get a HEA. I look forward to it. This book gets 5 stars from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved this story to bits! Although Fergie was super dense at first I truly loved her personality. She was my kind of girl! She wasn’t materialistic, she just loved her shoes and worked hard for them. She wasn’t snobbish, demanding or boorish. She was truly quite the dish! The chemistry between her and Hudson was palpable let me tell ya! Hubba hubba! Poor horsey, you know, they never did explain why she hit Furio with that damn bat lol also omg I can’t wait for his book! Not saying a word there!!🤫🤭🤐 nope, I’m not! All of the guardians seemed very interesting! I can’t wait to read their books. I truly hope Elenas mate is a normy, you never really see female shifters end up with normals... I’m wondering what Gorri will do there. It’s also cool to see a Vampire in the mix! I can’t wait for his book too! Damn, Gorri has a great crew to work from here. A wolf, dragon, panther, vampire and a horse of all things and pulling up the rear a witch! That’s all madden team if I’ve ever seen one! The world building is quite good and I love the fact that they live close to the Jersey Devil.... READ his book! My gosh it was a good one! They also mentioned the famous “blue hole” you gotta read Gorri books to know these terms. Kingston’s book is up next and I know it’s going to be a real doozy. I can’t wait to read it. Sighs, it’s going to be a sad one for sure but I know he’ll get a HEA. I look forward to it. This book gets 5 stars from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hudson Stormwolfe is a Guardian of Chaos and they are trying to stop the Loyalists from controlling all magic. Normal human Fergie McAndrews has an obsession with shoes and is currently researching data from a new employer. But when she is in the car park one night creepy green goons want to take a bite out of her and she ends up being involved in the fight between the Loyalists and the Guardians of Chaos. Storm is drawn to Fergie and everything about her calls to his inner wolf which signals that whether it is the right time or not, he has met his fated mate - he just needs to save her from harm and convince her that she belongs to him. Storm will do anything to claim his mate, even promise to keep her in the ridiculously expensive shoes she favours!
This is a dramatic start to the series and shows just how irrational a guardian can get when they meet their mate. A fund read and Fergie was very feisty and so determined to keep Storm in his place. A very understandable obsession with shoes which we can all understand to some extent. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 1st in the Guardians of Chaos series and ends in an HEA. The story starts out with a bang, having wolf shifter, Storm, save human, Fergie from attack. Storm realizes Fergie is his mate and goes all Alpha on any male near her. There is a gang of shifters that are introduced with their purpose explained, but more interactions with the gang would have been nice: maybe a little jealousy on Fergie’s part toward the female shifter.
>Fergie has a roommate with a paranormal connection. There really is no backstory on her, making her part of the story kind of flat. The action and romance is great, but the backstories and interaction of Fergie with anyone other than Storm would have rounded out the story some.
>This story is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. With humans not knowing about paranormal creatures, Fergie sure doesn’t freak out too bad when she is attacked by human/gila monsters.

A Human Researcher & A Wolf Shifter!
What an awesome beginning to what surely will be an awesome series! C. D. Gorri has set the bar high for the first book of her new series “Guardians Of Chaos.” This book has not stop action and thrills around every corner. You will be glued to your seat trying to figure out what is going to happen next. The world that C. D. Gorri has created is fully fleshed out and it feels like you are right there involved in all the action. The same thing for all the characters. Some will become your best friend, some your enemies! Gorri has created some of the strangest shifters I’ve ever read about. All have their place and are called upon as needed or show up when not needed. The best part is one of the best love stories I’ve ever read. You really need to get this great 1st book of the series. Kudos to C. D. Gorr on a job well done. I couldn’t put it down. I loved every minute of it and you will too. I highly recommend the beginning of this new series.

This is the first book of the Guardians of Chaos. We are introduced to one of the Guardians, Hudson Stormwolfe, or Storm. He is a second son and not the heir to his clan. He has found a place with the guardians and a team of different shifters, a mage and a vampire.
The Guardians protect all from the Loyalists who wish to take magic from others and control all magic.
Fergie McAndrews is a feisty shoe loving normal. She is working on researching property ownership and encounters lizard like shifters. Storm rescued her but she is exposed to the Gila venom. He recognizes that she is his fated mate. He must convince her that shifters exist and to accept that they are mates. Things do not go as planned and the Alpha, Kingston a Diamond Dragon, must help straighten out the mess Storm has made. Then Fergie gets kidnapped again.
This was a fast-paced book, Great characters and good world building. I am so looking forward to the next book.

This was a fun story of supernatural beings who are separated into two groups who are on opposite sides of a fight to control magic. Hudson Stormwolfe is a wolf shifter, and is a member of the Guardians of Chaos, a group that protects magical beings and works to keep magic free for all supernatural beings. Fergie is a human, but working for a company that has her doing research about certain areas of New Jersey, though we don't find out why. The company is run by some kind of Warlock, who is working to destroy the Guardians.
The action is pretty wild, with all kinds of things happening, the main thing being that Storm and Fergie are fated mates. The descriptions of what was happening and who was involved were often confusing to me, but the action kept me at the edge of my seat, so to speak.

An Exciting Series
Loved Hudson (Storm’s) character and how when he met his fated mate Fergie, he would do anything for her.
Fergie was confused she’d started working for a new boss who was very secretive when suddenly she was attacked and then saved by the most gorgeous male she’d ever seen who couldn’t keep his eyes of her!
Hudson was one of the Guardians of Chaos, he and his shifter team were there on a mission but his wolf was determined to claim Fergie as soon as he could.
An action packed, fun, witty, hot read full of sexy alpha males and wonderful characters with some surprises along the way and a HEA.
I cannot wait to read the next in the series.
Definitely a recommended read!.
