I thoroughly enjoyed Holley and Kingston's story. Secrets revealed about the past explained a lot. I loved learning about the spirits of the manse. Looking forward to more stories about this group of guardians.

Dragon Shield
This is the second book in the Guardians of Chaos series. I fell a little in love with the troubled leader Kingston Baldric in the first book. We learn more about the Keep and the lovely hybrid witch ‘entombed’ in the Keep.
Kingston and his brother shared everything including women. His brother won the heart of the woman they both loved. When Edgar dies protecting his mate, Kingston honors his brother and mates his mate in name only to protect her. Then years later she is killed by the loyalists.
Kingston dreams of a woman and the dreams seem so real. Could he have a fated mate?
Holley has been entombed by the keep for over 300 years. She has been preserved by magic and the keep. She has been carefully watching Kingston for many years. She sees how unhappy he is and knows that he is her fated mate. Will Holley be able to thaw Kinston cold heart?
When everything is going well, the Evil Loyalist that imprisoned her returns to threaten Holley again. I somehow doubt that Kingston, the last of the Diamond Dragons, will allow that.
I am LOVING this series. Well thought out characters and great world building. I can’t wait for the next book!

This is my first book from this series and I was happy they have a happily ever after and love the way the Keep reacts to Holley. I love the shifters and the magic and all paranormals. The bad guy was creepy to say the least. I hate when the bad guys get more power to hurt the good guys. But that is all me. I love that they win in the end.

This is one of my favorite stories in this series so far. I love the characters and their strengths and their flaws. I could feel their pain and their triumphs. I cannot wait for the next book in Series. I loved that their leader and Alpha found his true mate. This is a must read paranormal adventure and love story.

This 2nd book just proves how amazing the series is going to be. Holley has suffered being trapped and watching her mate from afar for too many decades. Kingston had already lost a mate. However, finding his 'true mate' does something to him and his dragon that he never expected. His protective instincts kick in immediately. But not all is well in the manse. The Guardians and friends are going have to work together to make sure the two can find their HEA. I can't wait to see what comes next. I received an early copy and this is my honest opinion.

Absolutely fantastic. CD Gorri does not disappoint. Great storyline and I loved the characters. Great addition to the Guardians of Chaos series. I loved reading Kingston's story. I can't wait to see where she takes the Guardians next. I received an ARC and am voluntarily reviewing it.

Another stunner by Gorri. I absolutely loved Kingston’s book. In the first book he came off as such a hard ass because he was so uptight because of his circumstances of losing his mate right off the bat. He was such a stickler for rules with Hudson and Fergie and to see him with the shoe on the other foot was hilarious. Turn about is fair play my man. In this book we learn the truth behind everything of that loss and boy let me tell you it is cold blooded man. Damn it is down right chilling. Wrongs are definitely righted in this book and I am cheering the whole way and the love in this book is so sweet. Holley is such a doll. Furio upsets me to no end. This guy who I liked in the first book disappointed me in this one. The horse better get his act together or he’ll be eating hay in the damn barn. I loved Holley’s love for life. She just glowed. Seeing her inner beauty and how she responded to her environment just made me smile and makes you think how people take things for granted. Even the little things could bring such great pleasure to those that maybe never experienced it before. It also saddens me how she faced so much strife and racism. Being Chinese, Irish, Black and American Indian I understand where she’s coming from when she feels like she would stick out or look different or not be accepted because of her heritage. Granted we all have experienced negative things in our lives at one point or another I just know where she’s coming from. Gorri handled this well. She didn’t dwell on it and she didn’t make the character bitter or have an ingrained hatred towards people that some would have. Another testament to Gorri’s writing. The chemistry between Kingston and Holley was sizzling and I laughed quite a bit at him losing control over his dragon and the Jersey shore references had me tickled pink. I can’t wait to read the other books in this series. This one definitely gets 5 stars from me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Living a fairy tale
This book moved me, to tears, to laughter, to love, and everything in between. I love how the author took a tale as old as time and put a brand new spin to it. Once again she showed us that this house is so much more than just a home and she has filled it with characters that will stay with me long after I’ve turned the last page. The intensity is high in this book and added to the love story as it unfolded, keeping me enthralled until the very end. I enjoyed the way the characters personalities have grown and developed since the first book and I can’t wait to read the next installment, I’m sure it’s going to be just as amazing.

Great steamy read! I really enjoyed this book! The storyline was well developed, the characters were complex and well developed and the story world was detailed. The writing drew me in and I felt immersed in the story! I always enjoy books by this author and would recommend this book!

Holley was chained to a slab and then the room was bricked up by the Preacher Milton and his followers. They cast a spell on her with her own blood which made her go cold then they cast a spell around the room with her blood. She called on Manetuwak to protect her flesh and keep her soul tied to him until it was safe to waken again. The keep was used by the Guardians of Chaos who were not in residence at that time. When the Guardians return Kingston Baldric a Diamond Dragon is the leader. He claimed his mates wife after he was killed to protect her then she died but he didn’t want to let her go. Fergie and Jessenia had been in the basement when they drilled into a wall part of it collapsed and that was when they saw inside. Kingston went and he realised his mate was there. I’ll let you read the rest it’s a good story.

This is the second book in this series. Kingston has lost a chosen mate and pushed his dragon to the point so his dragon wouldn't want anyone else. Well, that was until his fated mate appears. Kingston does so much to keep her at bay. Holley has watched for many centuries how Kingston has become so cold-hearted. She was kept from him while imprisoned. Can Holley get Kingston to realize that they are meant to be together as fated mates? Holley's imprisoner has returned. Does Kingston let this man take Holley or will he protect her with everything has and love her deeply? Check out book 1 and book 2 of this series. If you love drama, danger, romance, chaos, and more then you need to grab these and read them.

We get more dealings with the Evil Loyalists too so no one is truly safe.
This story tugs on the heart, and the action is a given when dealing with those who wish to harm paranormals.

I enjoyed this story which helped to understand the effect of a shifter taking someone other than their fated mate to be their mate. It was lovely to see that he was finally going to get something (and someone) for himself and that it has nothing to do with duty. I loved Holley who might be from centuries ago but was still a strong and feisty woman who was greatly helped by the presence of other strong females in the keep. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

This book caught my attention from the start. It has a witches, a magical Keep, shifters of all sorts, a crazed evil warlock and his henchmen. Its entertaining and whimsical.

Fantastic story. Mix of Shifters, fated mates, suspense, drama, magic and romance. Couldn't put the book down I had to finish and find out if the evil Loyalist win. Love the storyline and the strengths and flaws of the characters. Holley has been trapped and has suffered watching her mate through decades. The Guardians of Chaos are the protectors of the paranormal world. They reside in a magical Keep that takes care of their basic needs. Even the mates of some of the members live within. What they do not know is that the mate of the leader has been hidden beneath the Keep for the past three centuries. This story includes steamy romance, lots of action, dark magic, and more. There is enough here for any adult that reads paranormal books. Highly recommended.

Holley is a person that was born during a time that did not cherish people of mixed race heritage. This lead to serious difficulties that put her life in danger.
Kingston made promises he probably shouldn't have that caused him to live a lonely and guilty existence.
I found that I really enjoyed the story and look forward to the next book with some excitement.

Mostly a predictable read, enjoyable nonetheless. Nor overly Alpha or bullish, the hero is a little slow on the uptake, but brawn always wins over brains in romance!
The witch seems very, very well rounded and adaptable for someone stuck in a wall, essentially, for centuries.

This is my first book by C. D. Gorri but definitely not the last. I am going to go back and read the first book. I love PNR and I loved this story. The characters and the storyline were great. Entertaining and engaging. I definitely recommend this book.
