In the middle of stewing over this disappointment, she hears that one of the hotel owners has been found dead. While she wished many things on this person, death was not one of them. Her heart goes out to the family of the deceased and she hopes in some little way that she can pay her respects.

However, initial suggestions that this person died from natural causes are debunked when it's revealed that they were murdered... and Tracy is one of the suspects the police have their eyes on!

Tracy is determined to clear her name and find the killer but is surprised when she discovers that the deceased stepped on many toes in town who all had a reason to see her demise.

After many disappointments in the big city of Chicago including losing her job, Tracy left the city to settle in with her Aunt Rose and help her in her flower shop in Fern Grove, a small friendly town. When a very disagreeable women, Felicia, comes into the shop and Aunt Rose gets belligerent and wants to throw the woman out, Tracy steps in and with her sugar tongue, calmed the nasty outspoken woman down and managed to get a large flower order as well. The woman was the new owner of the Marigold Hotel and Tracy delivered the flowers there while saying she would love a tour that perhaps it would be a perfect spot for a wedding reception. While on the tour she encounters Felicia's husband Simon who seems to be extremely henpecked. Tracy couldn't get our of there fast enough. And while in the flower shop, she finds the flower shop supplier had to drop them because he got a new huge client. When she finds out she was duped by Felicia and that she stole their supplier she went and confronted her. This is where things go downhill. After her argument with Felicia, she is spent and goes home for a nap. Here is where Tracy's best friend from Chicago, Isabella, shows up on her doorstep for a surprise visit at the same time a detective comes to question Tracy since Felicia was murdered. And running around town is the most annoying life insurance salesman who Tracy feels is a major scammer and Warren is away in the city for training. And very soon, Warren and Tracy's wedding is coming and she had put all planning aside.
So much going on that once you begin this book there is no way you can put it down without completing it in one sitting! You will love the real characters, Tracy, Tiffany their helper at the flower shop and of course Aunt Rose. And now, add to the characters in this series we have Tracy's best friend Isabella. I can't wait to see what will happen next! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Marigold and a Killer Cold (Fern Grove Cozy Mystery Book 9) “A scammer, a millionaire, a secret love child... and a dead body. Who said small towns had to have small problems?” Oh me Oh my –we are in for a real treat here. This is my first reading of a novel by Abby Reede . I was most impressed with her writing style. I enjoyed this stunning page turner thoroughly. The constant surprises and shifts of perspective, moving from each of the principal characters, relentlessly pull the reader along...the surprises come throughout. This is a brilliant read! It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention. The world building is detailed and imaginative. This novel has strong, well developed characters and an interesting story line that keeps you turning the pages. I recommend this novel and would read more novels by this author. I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel This is my true and honest review.

This book begins with Tracy hoping orders from a woman will help expand her aunt’s flower shop. She is quickly shown this wealthy woman had no intentions of helping their shop, but instead, greatly hurting their business. Before she even has time to do anything about that she finds herself thrown into being on the suspect list of this woman’s murder. This story is packed full of twists and turns. I had a few times when I thought I had the real murderer figured out just to be proven wrong pretty quickly! I never did figure out who the true murderer was until it was revealed in the story. The ending was nothing I ever could have imagined but one I could not stop reading either! I’m already looking forward to the next Fern Grove Mystery!
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author but this review is my voluntary and honest opinion.

It was so good to be able to visit Fern Grove again!! Reading this book was like getting together with old friends after way too long apart. Catching up with Warren who was in Chicago for training, Isabella her friend from Portland who came for a visit, and of course Aunt Rose and Tiffany. A new hotel called the Marigold opens in town and trouble begins. What does a scammer, a millionaire, and a secret love child have in common? This is a must read to find out!

What a delightful read! Everything about this book appealed to me. The plot and characters were well-written, making you feel like you are friends. This was a perfect cozy mystery with just the perfect amount of humor, mystery, intrigue, and adventure that will keep any reader completely engaged. I highly recommend the series.

This is book 9 in the Fern Grove mystery series, and I’ve had the pleasure of reading most of them! Tracy is looking forward to her marriage to Warren, but right now he is out of town at a conference and she’s missing him. When the owner of the newly refurbished Marigold Hotel, Felicia Pickles, a rather nasty and conniving woman, takes advantage of Tracy and steals her floral supplier, Tracy confronts her in the hotel in front of witnesses. Later when Felicia dies under suspicious circumstances, there are plenty of suspects! This is a very twisty case, with lots of surprises, exciting from start to end! I received a free copy from the author and write this review voluntarily.

'Marigold and a Killer Cold' was an entertaining read. Its fast-paced plot was filled with suspense and intrigue. The thrills came in waves as Tracy, the busy body, found herself in the sights of the police as being a suspect in a murder. Of course, she had to do some snooping of her own. You can only imagine the end results. I enjoyed reading the narrative and tried to stay on my toes to figure out who killed the crotchety elderly lady.

Tracy is busy working for her aunt Rose in the flower shop while trying to plan her wedding! Her fiancé Warren is out of town in Chicago taking a training course. So Tracy is a little scattered. Her best friend comes to town surprising her and helping with the wedding plans. When a difficult rich woman from her shop is murdered and Tracy is a suspect she quickly gets involved in the investigation!
This book was faced paced with plenty of action and suspense. Tracy is more vulnerable and emotional than usual. I loves this author and this book! So I highly recommend this book and series!

This was a fun cozy mystery to read. Tracy Adams finds herself trying to solve another murder. This time the dead woman was an unpopular luxury hotel owner who had lots of enemies. It kept me wondering who the killer was. This book was well written. I highly recommend this book to other cozy mystery readers. I received this book as an ARC, and the above opinion is strictly my own.

Fern Grove Retuns

Was so happy to read the latest Fern Grove story - lots of twists and turns regarding who committed the murder, the visit from Tracy’s friend Isabella and a look at Tracy’s touch of jealousy with regard to Warren. In the end, everything gets worked out. Looking forward to book 10.

Another predictable cozy mystery. Fern Grove seems like it should be a nice place, but weird things happen. There are twists and turns to the story, but nothing that really pulls the reader in. None of the characters grab you and pull you in or repel you.

It's an ok read.
