David Richardson is a 3rd generation resident of Orcas Island in the San Juans of Washington State. Attended school in Friday Harbor. Studied Far Eastern affairs at University of Washington; worked as a part-time disc jockey during college years. Worked for the US Gov't including the CIA. Later worked as a station technician with KVOS; program director and emcee of a TV children's show. (Information from the dust jacket of 1971 edition of "Pig War Islands".)
A quick 95-page anecdotal history of the San Juan Islands. I found it interesting as it gave me background and provided extra info on both current and historical places we've visited on San Juan, Orcas & Lopez.
Checked out this book while planning a trip to the San Juans. I love how OLD this book is! Written in a different era. A little dry and factual, but interesting overall.
