Air Dragons #5

Dragon Cyclone

Rate this book
A dragon shifter series set in the same world as the bestselling Bride Hunt books It's been years since he last saw her. Since he inhaled her scent. Since he held her in his arms. Cyclone made some terrible mistakes. Mistakes that cost him the love of his life. He's lived with regret ever since. Now she's back. Not only that, she's on dragon soil and will be staying for the foreseeable future. Cyclone has a real chance to fix things. To win her back. Only, she wants nothing to do with him. Good thing he's persistent and loves the hunt. Something happened back then that tore her heart out of her chest and ripped it into a million pieces. Angela had to rebuild the organ using reinforced steel. Now it's like a cold, hard lump in her chest. Her ex can pursue her all he wants. It's never going to happen and with good reason. What he doesn't seem to be able to get through his thick skull is that Angie is not the person she was before. She's tough as nails. It's a pity she's still so attracted to him, though. Her heart might be hard and brittle, but her body is a different story entirely. Contains mature themes.

I don’t really like the heroines reasoning for her decision to break the relationship and not reconsider even after his reassurances.

I also didn’t think that the ending (where basically a miracle happens) was appropriate.

The hero was great. An all around good person, very practical, honest and loving.

Dragon Cyclone is the fifth entertaining book in the Air Dragon series. The story revolves around shifters who meet the one and their lives are changed forever. But there are dramas along the way. That's when the fun begins.

While each book can be enjoyed as a standalone, it's best to read them in order to fully appreciate the rich paranormal elements and exciting themes they offer. The characters are fun and loving and dictated by their rules, but what they discover more than they ever imagined.

Strong, sexy alpha males!

Cyclone hurt her a long time ago. He tore her heart out of her chest and ripped it into a million pieces. Angela had to rebuild the organ using reinforced steel. Now it’s like a cold, hard lump in her chest.

Her ex can pursue her all he wants. It’s never going to freaking happen. What he doesn’t seem to be able to get through his thick skull is that Angie is not the person she was before. No cheating! Contains hot alpha males and therefore strong sexual themes/language.

Will she find in herself to share her truth and listen to his …

The last book let hint Cyclone has once found his mate but in some way lost her.
Now a game of hazard put them again on the same path.
I was so certain the faults were laying at his feet, when all along it has been Angela’s choice to leave, to decide for themselves, leaving him in an in between world, eaten by guilt and without an idea of where she was and why she left.
So when he sees again the woman who has haunted him for years, making him quite an hermit, unable to project his life on anything else than finding her and sorting things out. He is full of hope and of their once shared dreams.
Then to learn she was the true culprit of his years of misery, Angela was the “rear-pit” of this tale. Only thinking about herself, running away instead of facing with him the trial life has thrown on their way. She simply left without a word nor an hint of the why. Why during their time apart he lived in a kind of limbo world, wondering what mistake, error did he make to have her disappear without trace.

I loved Cyclone, his dreams, understanding, forgiveness and hope driven, and Angela once she acknowledges her failing even if I was a bit upset at her need of “sacrifice”.
An other entertaining read with a new enigma to look forward the next books.

Another wonderful book in this series, loved the characters and the plot great read
Typhoon as he is known by his friends has been discharged from the army after completing his service after he was injured and when he had met her the first time, he had been surprised by her spirit but Angie was a whole different thing, she was a wonderful female that he knew he was drawn too she had a fighting spirit and having been a soldier herself knew the importance of looking after your own.
She had arrived at the house that looked like a mansion, it was so posh and so amazing she could not believe that she was fully understanding what was happening, who were the group of men that were as strong and as muscular as Typhoon. She knew they were someone important but she did not know exactly who or what they were but she was determined to find out.
To go with them and discover what is happening she has to sign a NDA and she knows without a doubt that if she does not agree she will not be able to discover the truth, she signs the paperwork and off she goes to discover the truth. She was more than a little surprised to discover that she had seen so many things in her life but even she had to admit that as well as the strange names, when the one had changed into a dragon that had certainly been a little more than she’d expected.
She is going to go with them and train them how to use guns to protect the ones they care fore as they have to stand against the cave dwellers and also there was the others that had decided it was no longer enough to dig for gold and jewels, they now wanted it all and not just a percentage.
Angie knows that she is doing the right thing when she meets the dragon shifters and their mates and young and see what it is they are trying to protect those that they hold most dear they are a noble race and would die to protect each other much like she would have when she had been a soldier fighting for her country.
I do not want to spoil the plot so will say no more about the three of them, I assure you that you will enjoy every single moment of this book.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

4 stars for the 2 main characters alone

I loved, loved LOVED our 2 main characters. Angie is a strong female lead and she is someone that I would love to be friends with. Cyclone had his heart broken by Angie years ago and he’s been hiding his emotions in a surly, gruff attitude. He’s shocked to see her in the Air Dragon Lair to teach weapons handling. He has a second chance at love and he’s going all in this time around.

The overarching storyline, war with the goblins, continues in this installment. There’s s skirmish that shows what Angie is made of. That was interesting. The repartee between these two is pretty funny too. Cyclone has a pretty quick wit . . . Who knew?

I simply love Hartnady’s Bride Hunt universe of characters and stories. The original series was among my first when I started reading PNR books. And I was hooked on this genre. This is a medium burn story, but I’m not mad at it. Personally, I don’t like my romance books too dark or with too much sex. For me, this was just right. The passion, while there, didn’t overpower the story. I highly recommend this series . . . Actually all of her Bride Hunt Series.

Angie & Cyclone

This book… holy cow Batman it had everything I wanted and all that I didn’t think I did. The action, the romance and the drama was a lovely mix but that twist in the end though? Perfection!

Character breakdown;

Cyclone: I loved this guy, I am a sucker for grumpy moody dudes so I had a thing for him from the beginning. Wasn’t expecting to love him even more on his book! He was funny, sarcastic and vulgar a great combo lol.

Angie: now I have to be honest it took me too long to like Angie. At first she was annoying as all get out I would have described her as a pick me. But then wondered if maybe she was autistic considering her lack of social cues. I thoroughly enjoyed her character development towards the middle to end of the book though. She definitely grew on me from that point on.

I loved how the author threw a twist on the end of this book, I like the growing conflict with the goblins but I do wonder if the cave dragons will get their say? I wonder how it will go. This book was great and enjoyable I will admit that the female character Angie will take time for you to like her but hang in there she gets better lol. 8/10 ⭐️ recommended.

Heading for a heartbreak!

Wow!!!!! Angie and Cyclone's story was amazing. Cyclone lost the love of his life and he didn't know why. Angie got a mystery job as a weapons instructor. Little did she know that she was going to come face to face with the man she left years ago. Cyclone was determined to get her back. Angie made up her mind that it will never work because she couldn't give him what he wanted most in life. Fate has a funny way of making things right. This was an amazing read. Charlene is by far one of the best authors I've come across. Her stories are amazing and entertaining that you don't want to stop reading. Wonderful HEA with a sneek peek into the next book of the series. This can be read as a standalone but you will get more out of the storyline if you read them in series order. You will not be disappointed when you read anything from Charlene Hartnady!!! Highly recommend this and any book she has ever written!!!!

Angie & Cyclone

triggers: infertility

These are a bit hard for me. Two now have had infertility as a core theme. It seems just a bit hard to accept that Angie's very specific and well documented infertility can be overcome by dragon sperm. Over and over were told it's her eggs/ovaries that are the problem.

I get that virtually every romance is the overcoming of some hang up that prevents the protagonists from allowing themselves a HEA, but those hang ups are generally emotional not physical. And therefore resolve through character development, even if it's often cheesy.

I kind of liked and began to accept the idea that Cyclone and Angie would have to make peace with her infertility and maybe they kinda did, but at that point she was already pregnant.

I thought the goblin war bit was pretty well done, both with the goblin tactics and the dragon defense. I'm glad there was that overarching story that ties the series together.

Dragon Cyclone🌀💨

Dragon Cyclone is book five in the Air Dragons series and is absolutely fantastic❣️It’s filled with action, second chances, friendships and soooo much more🤩

Angie is asked to meet with people who are after her particular skill set, namely her ability with firearms and realises that the person coordinating with her is named Cyclone😬 The dragons are preparing for a possible war with the goblins and Angie will help them to achieve this goal but in the meantime she has to try to keep her distance from Cyclone, when she discovers it is indeed him that she will be working with😳

A fantastic story that I could not put down and I’m intrigued to find out more about Typhoon😍 I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

Cyclone & Angie

**MILD SPOILERS INCLUDED**

This is another one I had a hard time getting in to the story because of the FMC. I can't quite pin point what exactly bothered me about Angie, but this book just didn't do it for me. Cyclone was surprisingly hot and sexy but I just kept thinking I wanted him with someone else. Perhaps, I wasn't quite in the mood for this type of book because I've been reading a very different type lately? It was VERY light on the sex and way too heavy on pregnancy for me. It didn't turn me away from the author. I just wasn't in the mood for light and fluffy and plot and kids. Also, I did receive an ARC, but I downloaded and read from KU as well.

Cyclone has a second chance with the love of his life Angie.
He and Angie were involved years ago and she's the one that got away.
And ever since, Cyclone has been the surliest dragon this side of the Pacific.
When Angie is hired to train the dragons on using firearms, Cyclone turns into the happiest of dragons.
It's not a happy time necessarily though.
Angie is there because of the threat the goblins pose to the lair.
It's business for Angie.
Cyclone wants to turn business to pleasure.
Angie is determined to leave the past in the past but Cyclone is determined to win her back.
When chaos breaks out, Angie training comes in handy to defend the lair

Dragon Cyclone #5 06/10/2022

Angie just got a job to teach weapons use and safety little did she know it was for the air dragons she just hopes this guy named Cyclone isn’t the same one she New Years ago. Nope it’s him! Well she thinks she could do this without getting involved. Cyclone can’t believe it he has hunted fir year for her and now here she is he’s not letting her get away again. But first he’s going to make her want him again then find out why she left all those years ago. But they will have to get through the war with the goblins. So enjoy another good read and see what the reason was that keep them apart for years!!

I’ve been waiting for grouchy Cyclone’s story as he has been such a grump in previous books.
Angie comes to help the Air Dragons with weapons training after threats from the Dragon Goblins who want to steal their females. What she doesn’t realise is that Cyclone is the dragon from her past who she left suddenly & whose heart she unknowingly broke.
This is a fast paced book as they meet up & all the past emotions come back to them both.
I loved the heroic Angie who is more than a challenge for Cyclone & nice to catch up with the other women too.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as the author's other works primarily because of the male lead, Cyclone. I know the dragon shifters are supposed to be "dominant" but for me his behaviour went over the line into creepy and abusive. He repeatedly ignored the boundaries set by the female lead and was extremely arrogant. He mellowed towards the end of the book but by then I'd lost interest in both characters as I found neither of them very likeable

Angela is Amazing

Dragon Cyclone, book 5 of Charlene Hartnady's Air Dragons series introduces Angela. Angela and Cyclone have a history but can they have a future? Angela is a truly amazing character. She's perfect for Cyclone. Their story is filled with edge of your seat moments complete with terror and love. Great from start to finish.

This book has all my favorite things: second chance romance, action, steamy scenes and a super grumpy shifter with a heart of gold, and a big d**k. Cyclone is huge and perpetually in a bad mood. Enter Angie, his lost love. She is kick ass and the perfect woman for Cyclone. Even if she doesn't know it. I loved this book and can't wait for the next one!

Charlene Hartnady brings us a story full of twists and turns that keeps us on the edge of our seats! Cyclone and Angie are thrown back together after years apart. There is a lot of water under the bridge that they will have to tread through. They do this while dealing with the threats on the lair. The chemistry between these two is literally explosive! You won't want to put this book down!

overlord meets special forces and sparks fly

Great story. This is about a live denied due to a secret to protect someone but best intentions can lead to pain. The character personalities are great. The story has an unexpected challenge for the couple. The story is fast paced and it has typical ending but the in between keeps you turning the pages. LOVE this author and series!

Goblins finally strike

There's a Goblin attack, Angie/Cyclone relationship drama, and a bunch of people get married and have babies. I had to mark it down for recycled relationship drama, muddied POV, and a massive denuement.

They act like the goblin threat is over, but it was so weird. They went all out. Then gave up. Maybe the author has more coming.

What an amazing book. Every story get better!

Wow! Such a incredibly inspiring story! When she left him it had devastated both of them. Angie had never told him why ? Now she had been hired for weapons training after ten years and was right there under Cyclone's nose.
